another girl for the gang babydot! hooray.

dalesgirl, my favourite trousers are isabella oliver under the bump ones. they weren't cheap (£55) i think, but soooooo comfy, really soft. i've also got some noppies over the bump ones which are a bit more formal, stretch rather than soft material but still good. my most hated are some topshop under the bump jeans which are very uncomfortable and so far are either too big or too small. grrr.

I've had Noppies. They seemed good when I tried them on but when I got them home and wore them around they started slipping down and I spent all day hoisting them up! Maybe I am just an odd shape...I look normal to me! Just like a radiant Kate Winslet really....(in my dreams, and my Husband's!)

hoxtonchick · 11/03/2005 10:30

the IO i've got are great, though i think there might be problems as i get bigger. i suppose i do hitch them up a bit. i've also got a few tubes from harry duley which are kind of boob tubes but for your tummy - they come in nice colours & perk up my otherwise all black & brown wardrobe. also good for holding trousers up!

hub2dee · 11/03/2005 16:39

Long time no speak, all. Welcome to any new mammas&pappas-to-be.

dw is doing well, no vom for weeks now, smiling etc.

We've got our 20 week scan on Friday 18th (9ish) at the Royal Free, London if any other MNers will be there and want to say hi (post or CAT).

Sorry not to post more often but just cannot keep up with the volume on this and the August threads (we were due 26th July now 2nd August, it may change again)....

mirashark · 13/03/2005 21:08

Hi Pamina3 - snap! the race starts here. Re - maternity wear, I have found H&M great. Affordable and comfy stuff, a lifesaver pair of black trousers and khaki pants with a jersey band also a nice normal pair of jeans with a jersey top you can hide - the choice can be smaller than you'd like tho so it depends. Tops are easy arent they? the baby's really beginning to move now - wriggle wriggle.

MommyD · 14/03/2005 09:34

hello all - 21 weeks today. Scan Wednesday. dh has had to go abroad with work this week and so will miss the 20 week scan Will have to go to it on my own, which am none too pleased about (I get very worried at scans)
Baby seems to be kicking (actually quite hard for a little bean) loads.
Hope you are all blooming.

Mollydolly · 14/03/2005 12:17

Hello all - new to this thread but will be 23wks on Wednesday. This is 2nd PG, dd is 4. Had severe pre-eclampsia (pe) last time resulting in delivery by emergency cs at 29 wks. Am taking myself off to the midwife every 2 wks. This pg is beginning to be a little stressful as now is about the time I started to swell with dd. I keep checking my fingers/ankles for swelling and yesterday they felt a little "tight", tho not sure whether my paranoia is setting in - dh can't see any difference in me, and others say I look really well.

Eulalia · 14/03/2005 17:17

Hi - just popping on quickly to say I've got my scan tomorrow. Have to go on my own though as it is at 11.20am - a really annoying time as dh works 15 miles from the community hospital and besides he is teaching anyway so I said not to worry. 3rd time I am feeling quite relaxed about it all My parents are looking after dd.

Got to go dh is home... catch up on everyone later...

AussieSim · 14/03/2005 20:38

I'm nearly 25 weeks now, and busy setting up Kai's nursery. I am really enjoying it as last time I had ordered all the stuff but DS arrived 5 weeks early and the furniture hadn't. On Thursday I am going on a long road trip to pick up my Amby Baby Hammock. DS now points at my bump and says 'baby' or 'Kai' - I love the early naming for bonding purposes.

OzJo · 15/03/2005 02:22

Hello all, hello to all the new folk. Sympathy to Dalesgirl, I can't seem to work out the over or under bump thing. Someone should invent special braces for pregnant people, though how to get them round the enormous jugs that were previously my boobs would be interesting. I put some oversize leggings on/over the bump the other day and felt like some freakish extra from a Dickens play.
Wee child is kicking to buggery ,especially in the mornings, feels like my cervix is a trampoline at times, otherwise all is well, now 24 weeks!
Can I just check that Fathers day stays on the same date? I never realised that mothers day is linked to Easter, my mum was fine I missed it, whereas my Dad would definately sulk.

whimsy · 15/03/2005 07:27

OzJo, Fathers day is June 19th
welcome Mollydolly hope everything goes well. I'll be 23wks on Wednesday too are you due the 13th then? I had ds early due to pre eclampsia, going to see consultant every week now.

Mollydolly · 15/03/2005 08:30

Hi Whimsy. Yeah, due on 13th. Not sseing the consultant again until 31st March. Not actually seen my consultant yet, only his registrar, and then only twice up to now. My fingers feel a little swollen today so will talk to the midwife tomorrow. How early was your ds? and how are you feeling?

whimsy · 15/03/2005 09:20

Hi Mollydolly, Ds was 6weeks early and I had to have a c section, he was in scbu for 2 weeks. How long was your ds in for. Im feeling ok really Bp is up and I have a trace of protein but im praying it goes away I suffer from bp anyway so thats why they are keeping a close eye on me. Hope the swelling goes down, understand how worrying it is.

Mollydolly · 15/03/2005 10:16

Whimsy, dd was really lucky actually , only in scbu for 6 weeks (good considering 11 weeks early) and didn't need ventilating, breathed on her own straight away. She had no problems then except a heart murmur which she was operated on at 19 mths. She's a little bit dinky/dainty but apart from that she is fine now. How about your ds? I'm taking part in the VIP trial this time, how about you?

Eulalia · 15/03/2005 14:21

Scan went really well ? saw everything clearly and decided NOT to find out the sex. Baby was moving around a lot and I could even see him/her swallowing. Didn?t mind being there on my own at all as it turned out., just relieved everything OK Good luck to those awaiting scans.

Eulalia · 15/03/2005 14:23

Hi newandexcited and welcome.

So many scans happening just now

Great news on your scan Pamina and glad to hear you are happy with another girl.

Merryberry ? congrats on your boy

Babydot - on your girl.

Welcome Mollydolly.

MommyD · 16/03/2005 12:28

Hello all. Had my scan this morning - 21 wks. Everything was normal - all measurements fine. What a relief!!

I asked the lady if she knew the sex and she said yes. She asked me if I wanted to know and I said no (can't believe I managed to stick to a 'no'!). I was sorely tempted to say yes, but resisted. Baby was moving all over the place and she said that the reasons that I was feeling the kicks so strong already was that the placenta is posterior (hence kicks to the front wall are more noticeable) and it is my third child.

I really think it is a boy and a very small part of me can't believe I just didn't ask her to tell me! The guessing continues.....

20 week scan this morning....

I'm having a baby girl !

There's a picture of the most beautiful feet in the world here .

Happiest daddy in the whole wide world.

(Will cross post to August as we are due on the cusp of the month)

MommyD · 18/03/2005 12:21

Congrats hub2dee - where did you have the scan at the RF? Ground floor? What did your scanner look like - trying to work out if you had the same lass as me on Tuesday....? She also knew the sex, but we asked her not to tell us. Wish she had now!!

Eulalia · 18/03/2005 13:02

Congrats hub2dee on your girl - I posted on your thread.

The only reason I was thinking of finding the sex was to shift some of the children's clothes - I have girls up to age 3 and boys up to age 6 and I could have started getting rid of one lot but I'd prefer the surprise again

hub2dee · 18/03/2005 14:17

Hi MommyD. The sonographers name was Karine. She's from South Africa. Shoulder length brown hair. Mid - late twenties. Patient and thorough. Thought of you being in the same place probably only a day or so before ! How weird ! Did you have the same person ?

Maybe we'll all meet on the labour ward !!!

FWIW, dw bought two pairs of mat jeans from JoJoMamanBlahBlah and says the fit was really good (larger size)

May it always shine like it has done today, and may all those trying be lucky, and may all those mourning be soothed by a blessing in the future.

Soppyhub.

Back from Florida and Spring has sprung! What lovely weather to come back to! Our holiday was great and so relaxing. The weather wasn't as good as we had hoped wih some torrential rain but we were never cold and still managed to catch some rays and do lots of swimming! DS just adored Disney and is in love with Mickey Mouse! Also I fear he is an adrennaline junkie just like his Dad. He just loved Thunder Mountain (roller coaster type thing!) and cried when it was time to get off! You wouldn't get me on it even if I wasn't pregnant!

Been trying to catch up on all your news!

Congrats to everyone on your various scans boys/girls. I wonder what the ratio boys to girls is? We have our scan on Wednesday (we know already we are having another boy) but it will be reassuring to know that everything is still OK. DS2 started to move on holiday so I am reassured by that (can't remember when DS1 started to move - but once he did he never let up! Perhaps this next one will be a bit calmer!).

Although we had a lovely holiday we suffered 2 bereavements; my Grandad and my DH's Nan. I have suffered 3 bereavements in the past six months; my Dad, my Grandma and now my Grandad. I think being pregnant again has definately helped me get through the past months and the whole family are looking forward to the new baby. Sorry to be a tad gloomy! Hope you all continue to bloom and keep well. I'll post after Wednesday's scan.

PS So proud of DS on both flights! He used his portable potty and no poo/wee accidents at all! Still does no 2s in his pants though but luckily not mid air! Any advice for encouraging pooing on the loo/potty!? (Delightful subject!)
