Katz, thanks for your email. I have replied but also said I would post on here my suggestion for luch tomorrow. Basically all I suggested was that at lunch we give our doatios to someone, and they send off 1 cheque to Katz, makes it a bit simpler. I'm happy to send a cheque.

Morning all!
Lua - we have a typical 3 bed house too - and this is no3!. Luckily the 3rd bedroom isnt toooo small so basically me and DH are going into the smaller room - DS's are going to share the biggest room and new baby will have the middle room (i will also have a single bed in there so i can sleep in with baby so as not to disturb everyone else) THis situation is not ideal for us, DS's have never shared before and i dont know as yet what they think about that! I also prefer for my kids to have their own room (i always did as a child) Hopefully in the not too didtant future we are going to extend our house or move - but i didnt want any of these options to happen when i was pregnant / very new baby as it would be too stressful
Re: the uncomfortable pelvic thingy - i think i have that too - really painful when walking / turning in bed etc. but i dont get it all the time and for some reason excercise REALLY helps (so prehaps it is just a ligament stretching thing) but it is always in the same place (down there
Pink - i know what you mean about the pregnancy starting to feel like a handicap - i am afraid this is how it is till the end now - not being able to bend down, bump getting in the way etc. but you will be surprised at the techniques you learn to overcome these annoying problems!!! p.s. i havnt found out yet but am sure i am having another boy!

LipstickMum · 01/02/2005 09:43

Tessie, are you going to come to the next 'mums/mums to be' only lunch in London????

OP posts:
Uwila · 01/02/2005 09:46

I'm sure if I should really share this or not. But, since I might not be the only one with a painful tailbone, I found this quite interesting last night. It makes me put another point for caesarean on the vbac vs. caesarean scorecard.

I asked a midwife about it last time I was pregnant and she said, oh that neve happens. But, if that is the case, where did all these people come from?

coccyx damage in childirth

welshmum · 01/02/2005 09:52

Morning all,
Pink - and anyone else - I still recommend a spot of preggie yoga infront of the telly - really does the trick for me. Heavens but I feel bigger this week - I'll be getting a seat on the tube/bus soon - fat chance. Let's have a race for the first person who gets an unsolicitied seat offer......
I'm in a much better mood now DH is back - dd was also so pleased to see him - it was lovely. She's been running round the house dressed in her presents - new pyjamas, hairband and flower petal skirt, completely beside herself with joy.
As for me - imagine a pair of large slippers made out of a red duvet....'Can I have them for a dolly bed?' asked dd 'Of course you can darling...' (he bought me some other stuff as well - good job)

MrsWednesday · 01/02/2005 10:17

Uwila, that happened to my next door neighbour - she broke her coccyx and couldn't do anything apart from sit on the settee for 6 weeks. Not sure if that's a bad thing actually...

I'm getting pelvic pain too, and for some reason it's worse in the morning. I must be sleeping in a strange position. I read somewhere (on here I think) that if your pelvis hurts when you press it it's probably PSD. If not, it's 'just' ligaments stretching.

Me and DH have come to the conclusion that we're having a girl too. He wanted to find out at the scan today but I've talked him out of it .

Pink, sounds like this flu has knocked you a bit - can you take it easy for a while until you're fully recovered?

Uki, sounds like you've got a bargain there. How many hours are you ahead of us over there?

katzguk · 01/02/2005 10:41

morning all.

Scraggy and i have just chatted to sweetheart on msn this morning and she sends her love to everyone and say thanks for the support, she hasn't read the threads yet but will do in time. She also thanked everyone for the flowers and the midwife.

welshmum · 01/02/2005 10:50

That's good to hear Katzguk - can I ask whereabouts on MSN she was? Or do you think less is more?

LipstickMum · 01/02/2005 12:13

That's great Katz, glad she's feeling able to chat again.
Do you use MSN messenger as well? I have about 3 messengers on here, I used to use them so much when we lived overseas, not so much now, but great fun.

teabelly · 01/02/2005 12:18

Katz, great news re Sweetheart

Welshie - I got offered a seat on the tube yesterday!!! Mind you I'm not sure if it counts for your competition as I had to undo my coat and push my tummy out as far as possible...and then it was the woman who offered, not the 3 men sitting around her [why am I not surprised emoticon]!!

teabelly · 01/02/2005 12:27

...ooh yeah Mrs W good luck for today...go on find out, he he he ...

welshmum · 01/02/2005 12:33

Can't believe my competition didn't even last a day.
TB - I bet you're always the one rattling presents under the tree.
Good luck with your scan Mrs W - why do you think you're having a girl?

LipstickMum · 01/02/2005 12:41

Good luck Mrs W, have fun at your scan, let's get some more girls on this thread!!!

OP posts:
charleypops · 01/02/2005 12:43

Scraggy - I'm glad I'm not on my own in feeling ill in baby shops! We went to Goa for Christmas last year - where abouts are you going?

Lippy, the soaps really take the sting out of a Monday don't they? Isn't Charley AWFUL!

Uwila dp is very lucky he's ended up with a partner who hates shopping - I do keep reminding him of this if he's having a moan

LipstickMum · 01/02/2005 12:50

I missed the second Corrie, but year Charlie is a freak!!

You just got up?? I wanted to quiz you on something you posted on the 'age defying moisturisers' thread about a dermatoologist saying Vits E and A are the only 2 the dermis can absorb??? Shall I just stop being lazy and search for the thread

OP posts:
Lua · 01/02/2005 12:56

Lippy,
I still don't have a single boy's name! WQuld you PLEASE find out for sure you are having a girl and send me your fab boys, name?

charleypops · 01/02/2005 13:00

Lippy ! I'll have you know I've been sanding the legs down on a bench thingy in bathroom this morning (after I got up a 9.40 ) For some reason, I think you're having a girl too

You may quiz me on the A & E thing, but I don't know much more than I posted - i think it was something to do with the E vit being the only molecule small enough to penetrate through the epidermis, the A vit (Retinol), being a really efficient exfoliant. I also think that anything else that can get through the epidermis becomes restricted by medical legislation (ie is only available on prescription etc)

So glad Sweetheart's been in touch with you Katz!

Hiya Pink - hope you're feeling better today! I'm beginning to waddle a bit too . A few of you seem to be a bit too busy at the moment - I suppose it's unavoidable though. My time will come, I'm sure

Congratulations Uki on your scan. If you decide you really want to know the sex after all, couldn't you call the sonographer and ask?

What time's your scan MrsW? - Good luck x

Welshie, i've been thinking about buying a yoga vid, what's your one? I'm so glad I'm not tubing round London at the moment. I'd be seething if noone offered their seat to me I have been known to tell fit young people off on buses for not giving their seats up to the elderly!

LipstickMum · 01/02/2005 13:09

Hehe, I was only jealous Charley, having dragged my sorry butt out of bed at 6:45 as usual. How is the new bathroom? Once the loft is done, we'll be in new bathroom hell too

That was pretty much all I wanted to know about what could penetrate the dermis etc. From that I will deduce that I need only use, for example, Body Shop vitamin E cream or similar. Also products with retinol should be worth it too. I have to say, the v expensive stuff from Prescriptives has worked a treat ! I am chuffed!

I am getting into choosing girls names, writing them out and stuff to see how they 'feel'

Oh, by the way, I heard Lucie Silvas on my local radio station today, "breathing2 ? "breath in" ? didn't catch the title.

Ooooh Lua!!! If I don't have a boy, we're saving it for next time round, sorry!!! I will forever mourn not being able to use the name, although it could be used for a girl 3rd time round if necessary!! We like, unusual, but not weird names, not to everyone's taste, but then, names never are, are they???!!

OP posts:
Uwila · 01/02/2005 13:18

6:45 is sleeping in. Been up since 5:30.

And, 9:30 is plain lazy.

welshmum · 01/02/2005 13:25

Uwila - is that because you have to get to work or is that when dd likes to start her day?
Charley - yoga is nothing as demanding as a vid - just a few pages from a Miriam Stoppard preggy book but it does work for me. I feel like all my bits are in the right place after I've done it.
Lippy - I've been trying Origins Night-a-mins which is really good. I seem to remember seeing a programme when the scientist said the only vitamin worth taking for your skin was vit E - and you should take it orally not put it on your face.

Uwila · 01/02/2005 13:27

So I can go to work. I get in the shower, and then go get dd's milk and get her up. Sometimes I feel guilty about waking her up, but it keeps her on a schedule and enables me to see her before I leave the house for the next 12 hours.

That is a long day - do you do 5 too?

MrsWednesday · 01/02/2005 13:31

I'm back! All is well with the baby, and we resisted the temptation to find out. In fact the woman doing the scan didn't ask us if we wanted to know so that made it easier. Got to see a close up of the face, and I'm sure the baby looks like DS! Can't believe the next time we see the baby it will be in real life.

I suppose it's just a gut feel about the girl Welshie, so it's bound to be wrong. I felt sick this time and I didn't with DS, I'm having completely different cravings etc, and the other day I just felt really sure it was a girl. DH thinks the same way so we are both going to get a big shock when it arrives with a willy.

welshmum · 01/02/2005 13:32

Aaaaah - glad it went well Mrs W

charleypops · 01/02/2005 13:32

sh*t I knew that would happen
