Katz, thanks for your email. I have replied but also said I would post on here my suggestion for luch tomorrow. Basically all I suggested was that at lunch we give our doatios to someone, and they send off 1 cheque to Katz, makes it a bit simpler. I'm happy to send a cheque.

Pink - Congratulations on your BOY!!!!! Wow what a lot of boys on this thread!!!
I think my baby must be pushing on my bladder too - i am up and down to the loo all night and when i stand up after a period of sitting down i think i am going to wet myself (or prehaps i just have a weak bladder)
Cant beleive my scan is STILL two weeks away ... cant wait
Pink - should we start calling you BLUEarjuna !!

charleypops · 26/01/2005 18:36

Aw Pink - a squiggley boy!! How lovely!! Sorry - only just noticed that our posts crossed Not Persephone then!

I just want to say hello to CurlyDolly and Uki if they're around Hello! x

Tessiebear · 26/01/2005 18:40

I noticed Curlydoll put her stats on the other thread - does she know that this thread is here as i dont think i have seen her post??

Scraggyaggy · 26/01/2005 18:55

Gosh you lot can talk!!

I'd be up for a sushi-come-saki night! Excellent idea. Only prob is that it couldn't be toooo soon due to the travelling, but I don't see why I can't have a night away in month 2.

I think men staying at home is a fairly good idea in this day and age. My dp would love to stay at home with the children and as there's no definite bread winner between us it certainly wouldn't be a problem. It does p* me off though when people give me that "bad mother" look though. We will probably split it half and half so we both get the best of both worlds.

Had a good day today. Told the boss that I won't be going to London from the end of March onwards and he seemed happy with that. Also, got upgraded to 1st class on the way home so I didn't have to stand (one good thing about being pg - might just start carrying a pillow round with me!! he he he)

Pink - Congrats on your little boy!!
Re the family planning for me, well I want to have my family in one go so this horrible icky bit is all out of the way and I can enjoy being with my 3 LOs and hopefully being close in age they'll enjoy being with each other too.

MrsF - Glad you're scan went well. I wouldn't wory about the amniotic fluid. Mine didn't even mention it!

Can't wait to get home.... only another blinkin' hour to go! x

LipstickMum · 26/01/2005 19:03

Does anyone ever have to make notes when they've been away for a mere day?? A right lot of motormouths we are

Charley - Glad your crystals were all ok in the end, have never heard off them so would have been useless and jusdging my dp's guesses at what a VBAC was, he would have been useless too (Seriously though, he is a bloody brilliant GP )
I can hardly stand to even talk about sushi knowing I wont be able to have any for a while I love it soooo much. Tsu, as it was then, in South Ken, near Joseph and The Conran Shop was the first one I ever went to back in 1998. It has particular significance for us because it was where we decided I was going to dump my bf and job and run off to NZ with dp We always made a pilgrimage there whenever we were back in London. I thought it used to be just Tsu, but the card we picked up on a later visit said Itsu, so I thought I must have got it wrong. Glad I didn't. Last time we went there was in October, to the one in Wardour St for dp's birthday. We gorged on gold plates and had a couple jugs of sake. Oh, the tuna! The beef carpaccio! Boy oh boy.
Seems like a few of us on here love it, which is great, cause it can be an aquired taste.

This will have to be a 2 parter coz we are about to eat...

I often make notes lipstick. Once DH found them and couldnt understand why i had all these odd names on a bit of paper!

Scraggyaggy · 26/01/2005 19:09

I confess to "making notes" as I go along too!!

charleypops · 26/01/2005 19:10

If I've a bit of catching up to do, I bring up a sticky next to the Netscape window and I type on that as I go along, then when I've finished copy and paste. When I used to type longer posts into the "add a message" window, if my comp crashed I'd lose everything, this way that doesn't happen

JonahB · 26/01/2005 19:26

Pink, congrats to you!! Have we got enough for a MN football team yet?

Must go and eat now. I can smell pizza wafting up from my kitchen....

I'm travelling to the midlands tomorrow, so no doubt they'll be an essay waiting for me on my return . Have a good evening, everyone....

LipstickMum · 26/01/2005 20:17

Pink, congratulations on your BABY BOY!!

Jonah, I think going back to work after 7 months is quite a long time, I know people who have gone back sooner. When your dh is looking after baby, will he come on MN too ??!!

I can't imagine you being 10 stone Charley, were you like a weeble? After this next baby, I am making sure I breastfeed to help shift the pounds, it worked a treat for me last time. As well as that I'm joining the gym again to get back in shape, I'm imagining it will be twice as hard second time round. We're taking the children to see their great-granny in Barbados in November, so I'll need to look the part by then

How many more boys are we going to have on this thread????

Lua · 26/01/2005 20:29

Mrs.F - I am glad to hear all went well in your scan!
Pink -Congrats on the healthy boy! with a fabulous heart! So what are you naming him? I still don't have a single name in my list!
I guess the one good thing about all these boys is that you all can give me lots of advice about dealing with a boy postnatally!

mrsflowerpot · 26/01/2005 20:30

Congratulations on your boy, Pink!

We didn't find out today, scan was really difficult to get and it just wasn't possible. Maybe when I go back in 2 weeks though. I am desperate to know now!

DS was entirely unimpressed by the whole scan experience - more interested in the fire extinguishers in the room. But he's quite keen on being a big brother and has started to identify those possessions of his that he's kindly going to donate to the baby (they are mostly broken and of no use to him, but still ).

LipstickMum · 26/01/2005 21:37

Can anybody recommend any good maternity jeans? I am wearing the ones I had from last pregnancy; over the bump, mid-blue, no buttons, fly or pockets at the front. They look almost like trousers, but seem to have completely lost their shape and I look horrendous

I'd like a new pair and perhaps some that maintain the 'jeans' look. Under or over the bump will do. Any suggestions?

charleypops · 26/01/2005 21:43

I desperately need some too, I grew out of my last pair last week and I'm going to check out Paper and Seven maternity jeans. I know they're expensive, but I hardly ever buy clothes and they're supposed to be cut really well and I know I'll live in them. Might be able to find some on Ebay too for a third of the price if I find the right size. Can't stand badly cut jeans.

LipstickMum · 26/01/2005 21:46

A friend of mine swore by her Earl maternity jeans. I don't think I could bare to part with the cash for such a short space of time though

charleypops · 26/01/2005 22:00

Steak was luvverley thanks. Dp very happy. Next door neighbour brought round some posh caeser dressing so had nice salad too. Then I had warm chocolate cheese fudge cake in cream for afters

LipstickMum · 26/01/2005 22:02

Mmmmmm I had a great dinner tonight too, cooked by dp.

Going to watch desperate Housewives and check out your link.

After yesterday's conversation I just couldn't resist. Picked up some rather delicious sushi last night and ate it after dd went off to bed. It was SOOOOOOOOOOO good. I, of course, steared clear of the raw stuff.

YUM YUM.....

Jonah, 7 months of maternity leave is a wonderful deal. I had planned three months. But, I had to number crunch the budget yesterday. And, in order to keep my nanny (whom I really like and desperately need in order to return to work) I can only take 2 months off. Tis very sad. I've been sulking about it to DP, who is a little sympathetic, but not very. I don't understand how people take months and months off of work and manage to pay their bills.

But, oh well, time to move on and just accept that it's two months off for me. On a happier subject, I manage (I think -- not official yet) manage to put in a flexible working request and get it approved for working my full time schedule from Mon. - Thurs. when I return full time. And that means I shall get every Friday off.

Uwila · 27/01/2005 09:02

oops, that should have said DH...

teabelly · 27/01/2005 09:08

Morning all,

Pink - congratulations on your little boy - they're just fab, your going to have a great time

Charley - you can count on me to bring down the tone of things anytime, he he he!

I'm another note taker...couldn't keep up otherwise!

Ha ha ha, MrsF my ds is the same - has sorted out some toys for the baby - all stuff he doesn't like or that scares him - great big brother he's gonna be!!!

Scraggy - re the first class thing - if you contact the customer services dept for your train provider and ask about the 1st class for mums-to-be ticket (which enables you to sit in 1st class when there are no seats in the pauper's sections until after you've had the baby). I know if you have a season ticket they will give you this, but I only go in 3 days and buy a daily ticket, but have been told to apply by the guy at my station so you may be entitled to one too.

teabelly · 27/01/2005 09:14

Uwila after I had ds I went back doing only mon-thurs and it was great...luckily (depending on your outlook) after a redundancy and subsequent payment I'm now able to do just mon-wed. You'll find it sooo nice to be only 4 days - glad you're getting a break on things, as only 2 months off is hard.

MrsWednesday · 27/01/2005 09:40

Congratulations on the boy Pink! Fantastic news.

Sorry to hear your scan wasn't straightforward MrsF - hopefully the next one will be able to put your mind at rest. Doesn't sound like you've got anything to worry about, but these sort of things are really unsettling aren't they?

On maternity leave - I'm aiming to take 7 months off too, but we are saving up like mad to try and cover my salary, and things are going to be very tight. Wouldn't be surprised if I ended up going back early to be honest.

Uwila, I only work Monday-Thursday and it feels like the right balance (for me) between work and home. Hope you manage to get it sorted out.

Haven't been taking notes so I'm sorry if I've missed anything major - bloody work is really busy at the minute.

Tessiebear · 27/01/2005 09:42

Morning all!
