Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
rowanmac · 15/07/2008 20:26

I know I'm a bit late but I'm with loulou anti D hurts. I had a jab after my amnio and couldn't get comfortable for 24 hrs either sitting or lying down, far sorer than the procedure. Escaped last time as DS is rhesus neg too.

I've had several days now where i can barely function due to contractions, no rhyme or reason, trying not to be paranoid as only 26 weeks.

As for weight gain the comments I've had so far include 'you look like a pea on a stick' from the vet when I took the cat to get jabbed and 'You're getting awful fat, its such a shame when slim lassies like you let yourselves go!' fortunatly the second comment was from someone with learning difficulties so I just let it sail over my head!

Last time round I developed an unhealthy like of pork pies and sausage rolls, this time its cake. Trying to keep it under control but not succeeding as so tired and I know it doesn't help!

annwoo · 15/07/2008 20:59

Welcome Staceylouisex -
wheretheaupair - have also put on 2 stone - glad I am not the only one who seems to put on loads of weight in pg. Managed to lose the weight in previous pgs within 6/7 months - recommend ditching the car and walking everywhere!

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/07/2008 21:41

Welcome slx .
Congrats to your friend tt .

No braxton hicks here, but only got them very late on last time.

WheresTheAuPair · 16/07/2008 09:05

I had so many good intentions this time around about only putting on the bare minimum but looks like my body has other ideas. My diet is actually really good but i have definitely developed a sweet tooth that seems only satisfied by a daily dosage of choc . Have started doing dinner for everyone at 6 so then don't need to re-cook after my DS has gone to bed which seems to help the 'late eating' thing. I work on my computer in the evenings and i'm sure that's where the sneaky choc comes into play. Have been drinking aloe vera gel for the last month and my energy levels have shot up- had to make myself to bed at 12.30 last night- want to work and clean, clean, clean!!! Have even ordered a carpet washer for friday! (umm well actually hired a man to actually do it that is- am not that keen to hump furniture around and scrub myself with a toddler in tow). Decided to restore my carpets to their former [ahem] glory before subjecting them to another year of baby sick. (Just realised what thrilling company I must be for my DH of an evening time reading this back!)

bethoo · 16/07/2008 09:50

sounds like yoi are nesting already WTAP

loulou33 · 16/07/2008 12:31

Hiya all,

yes i am sick of the 'are you sure you've got your dates right?' and 'you look huge' or 'are you sure there's only one in there?' comments. I think i would know by now!!!

My bump was exactly the right size for weeks when i saw the mw but people seem to think its ok to stare at my belly and comment on how enormous i look - . I've only put on 9lbs despite my diet of crisps and midget gems (1/2 bag daily currently) which i think is ok but to hear others you would think i'd put on 10 stone in 6 months!!

No reaction to the iron tablets yet apart from nausea and greeny coloured poo!!! sorry tmi but it was a bit scary....hope you're all enjoying your lunch reading this

ronshar · 16/07/2008 12:31

I have been keeping up with some of the ladies on the July thread. They are all having their babies. I am mad. I would quite like to have my baby soon..

I think that I may not need to worry about the breech issue. Has anyone experienced a baby turning by itself before? Does it hurt like hell? Yesterday, all day, I could feel something going on and then all across the top of my uterus it was solid. V V painful. Now today I am getting bad pains on and off in the top right side of uterus and what looks suspiciously like a foot sticking out. If it is like this now what on earth is it going to be like in 12 weeks time?????

Welcome to SLX. Joined us for the home straight.

bethoo · 16/07/2008 12:32

loulou - when on iron tablets my poo goes black!

bethoo · 16/07/2008 12:33

i swear i have felt kicking round my bottom area! very wierd.

ronshar · 16/07/2008 12:33

Green poo. Nice. At least you are still able to poo. Keep up your fibre intake to prevent iron tablets making you constipated.
Not had lunch yet. May wait a while now.

ronshar · 16/07/2008 12:34

Are we talking front or back bottom?

bethoo · 16/07/2008 12:34

today i have had a crunchie nad a topic and a galaxy milkshake, yep diet is going well!

bethoo · 16/07/2008 12:34

back bottom!

ronshar · 16/07/2008 12:40

Oh I see. Front I can understand but yes you are right the back bottom is strange. Maybe baby has really long legs!
I have eaten a slice if carrot cake and I am now looking at the dougnuts that somehow got themselves bought in the bakers this morning with my weekly treat of lovely granery bread. No one else in the house likes it so I have to ration myself to a small loaf.

ronshar · 16/07/2008 12:42

Bethoo do you realise that by 20th October we will have had our babies. I worked out the latest date. If we go 14 days over. I probably will as history has a habit of repeating itself in this house. Were you late with DS?

Ronshar ds was early as was induced at 39+3 due to gd. he was a good size at 7lbs 15 so i dread to think how big he would have been if i had gone overdue!

ronshar · 16/07/2008 13:19

MYJOB. It isnt considered a proble until 32-35 weeks. Then they will try and get your baby turned around. But some babies dont turn until right before birth. I think it is important to be aware of babies position because lots of midwives miss breech babies and I dont fancy emergency C-section because babies foot is dangling out. I would like to stick to my home birth.
Bethoo you lucky lady. That sounds like a narrow escape, quite literally!

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 16/07/2008 13:52

stop it with your cake talk!! i havn't stepped on the scales for 10 weeks and just bought myself some size 12 maternity jeans which I'm determined to stay in for the rest of pregnancy although they're already tight....giving up sugar til I go on holiday - day 3 and I'm climbing the walls....bump I love, great big arse I don't

I woke up last night with the most god awful cramp in my calf.....ooooouuuucccchhhhh! please don't let this be the end of my relatively easy pregnancy!

bethoo · 16/07/2008 13:53

i also had a bad cramp in my leg last night! it was only better when i raised it up and kept it is the air!

ronshar · 16/07/2008 14:18

Cramp the bain of my life.
I accepted my huge arse a long time ago. One of my old friends taught DD1 to call me big bum mum! Yes it was amusing for everyone else. DD1 was only about 2 at the time. Luckily she doesnt remember the phase. Not so cute coming from an 8 year old!!!!

perkypopsy · 16/07/2008 15:17

Hi ladies, myjob I too have lots going on low down - like bethoo sometimes feels like at back which is weird but then i suppose is just kicking my lower intestines and as has never happened before is not going to feel normal ;-)
Feel i need the loo all the time -- am imagining little pea having a squeeze of my bladder for fun every now and again - a worky ticket already!
Cramps in calf are horrid - my left claf has been pulled since Saturday and makes putting the clutch in agony
Scraped car yesterday driving through carpark exit barrier at work - am not safe out of my pyjamas these days
Not much in the way of cravings excelt really cold drinks and cold crunchy fruit and veg PHEW - and yes people keep turning me around to get a better look at my arse so they can make a personal judgement on whether I have piled it on or not - NICE!

my3honeypies · 16/07/2008 18:44

Hi Ladies,

Am new to this site!

I am due my 3rd baby on 2nd October.

I have 2 little girls already and am expecting a BOY!!

hope all your pregnancies are going well.

twinklytoes · 16/07/2008 19:12

welcome honeypies. I'm expecting a boy too, after two girls. very excited.

this baby is going to want for nothing - have been sorting through all the clothes I've been given. I've got enough to last for the first 6mths for about 5 boys!!!

had a spoil me day today - spent day shopping and had my eyebrows tidied up. now sitting down to my bag of viennese truffles from thortons.
