I'm really surprised m/w's are being so negative about breech, there's another month to go before this is critical surely? Even with twins I've been told 32/33 weeks and there's a lot less room for one of them to turn (I can't seem to get an answer from anyone whether the 1st twin is breech i.e. first to come out).

Spatone absolutely fab, but it apparently doesn't work as well if you're v.v.low in iron, just to boost it if you're borderline (as I was). Pity, as iron tablets are so hideous! I had no idea anti-d was so awful, cannot imagine a needle so bad it makes your eyes water LouLou, how horrendous for you and the others on here needing it.

csws, meant to respond to you earlier. Yes, of course you're right, they would have suggested steroids if they thought I was imminent. DP did say I was overreacting a bit! Feeling loads better now that I am getting some rest.

Thanks guys - will look up saptone and see what it says. I think the iron tablets are making me feel more sick than i was before - felt soooo sick this morning about 1/2 hour after taking one (could be psychological mind you) So far no allergic reactions though - last time i came out in huge hives.

Maybe i am a big baby when it comes to jabs - i don't usually mind them but this one was really bad - had it in my backside last time and couldn't sit down without flinching for a few days!! I didn't think i had a low pain threshold but i was feeling a bit sorry for myself on thursday....

btw my mw was not at all negative/worried about breech as she said, like you guys that baby changes position all the time. I can feel loads of wriggling about and the kicks seem to be higher today.

i was on iron tablets during last pregnancy but kept forgetting to take them so did not bother after a week! so i dread to think how low my iron is this time round! guess will find out very soon!
finding it uncomfortable to sit down as babyis making it hard and feel all bloated and tight!

WheresTheAuPair · 13/07/2008 15:13

Hi ladies just thought i'd say hello as the thread dropped of the 'my threads' section.
Is anyone else having much stronger braxton hicks this time around? With DS1 I didn't know what they were and anyway they were pretty mild. Just got back from shopping and am knackered!! Feel like proper pregnant lady clutching her bump when assaulted by braxton hicks!! also thought i'd post to help me think about anything else but FOOD! am starving since i got in and nothing seems to be filling me up...toast...kitkat...rice krispie cakes...ok maybe i can see where i'm going wrong now!

Lozza70 · 13/07/2008 19:46

This is my first so experience of BH is limited. Getting loads of kicks which is really reassuring and quite odd to see my tummy heading in various directions! Definately getting more tired now. At the weekends I get up in the morning all raring to go but have to have a nap by 1pm

bethoo · 13/07/2008 21:55

unless i have to i am spending every moment horizontal. so drained...........

caramelbunny · 13/07/2008 22:10

Hi all, not posted for ages so hope all well. Had quick read through but too much to take in as not been on for couple of weeks. Went back to bed for a quick power nap this morning at about 6.30 as daughter had been up since 5.30 and husband kindly offered to take charge while I had a quick sleep. Next thing it was 11.30am! Can't remember the last time I slept that late! Also had a very graphic sex dream about James Nesbit (I think that's his name, the one that was in Cold Feet) who I don't even particulary fancy so I've no idea where that one came from! Made doubly bad I think by not even being sure of his name.

Hope everyone's enjoyed the gorgeous weather today.

ronshar · 13/07/2008 22:13

Yep I too am soooo tired. Even DH told me off, which is unheard of in this house. Normally I have to be on the floor before he feels a little sympathy!

Braxton hicks are also much more painful. I have read somewhere that the more babies you have the more painful it gets. WTF. Surely it should get easier. My poor friend delivered a 9lb baby last week. Number 3. She said it was def worse this time. I think DH is off to the clinic soon.

I have done a bit of research with regards to the breech problem. Apparently it isnt a concern until 32-35 weeks. Until then the consensus of opinion is that baby will turn on its own. Several sites offer various different positions to help baby turn. They all seem to involve rocking pelvis/hips while on your knees. Several times a day.Not sure about any one else but I dont think I want DH wandering in upon that in the middle of the day. Might get the wrong idea, or the right one depends how you are feeling I guess].
We all have a few more weeks before we need to start crawling around on the floor yet, so I shall find something else to worry about until then. Like where I am going to put this baby when it arrives!!!

Sallypuss · 14/07/2008 10:11

Morning all. Glad to hear we're all doing ok accessorizqueen hope you've got your feet up and loulou commiserations on the Anti-D.

Have just returned from a weekend in Yorkshire visiting friends and family. Lovely to see everyone but if my mother (or anyone else for that matter) said to me one more time 'are you sure you're only 6 months pregnant' I was going to throw a fit. Neither me or the midwife thought I was that big!

To add insult to injury, my mother subscribes to the theory that you carry girls 'all over' and boys are just bumps up front so when I asked her what she thought I was having she said 'you've got an a4se on you so it could be a girl'. For once in my life I was speechless. I didn't think I'd put weight on other than on my bump. Must be something to do with her age but mother is definitely becoming more tactless.... probably serves me right for asking her opinion though!

Not sure whether it's a direct consequence of the weekend's comments, the 5 hour drive back alone yesterday or generally hormonal but feeling quite emotional and tired yesterday/today. Oh, what I'd give to slope off home now and have a nice lie down....

bethoo · 14/07/2008 11:52

sallypuss my mother loves nothing more to comment on my size, when i was about 4 months gone she told me i was huge and kept telling everyone how massive i was! at the time i think it was mostly water retention as it did nto change up until recently where i have just ballooned! in my last preg when i was 7 months gone my mum said ''how does it feel knowing i am slimmer than you?'' er hello i am about to have a baby! of course my dad was great after i had ds as i popped back the way i was with no stretchmarks and my dad asked my mum how come she did not look like that after having kids? she replied ''i had 3'' he replied you looked like you had 3 after having the first! Thanks dad!
my mum as you have guessed is very competitive with me though i have no idea why!

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 14/07/2008 12:07

sallypuss and bethoo what is it with mums? thankfully I'm 'lucky' in that I'm a good 6 inches taller than my mum and always had a totally different body shape to her - she's actually been much more tactful and less intrusive than I thought she would be!

caramelbunny rofl at your sex dream with james nesbitt - always annoying when it's with someone you don't even fancy that much

Its funny that people think its ok to insult you when your pregnant! I think its a jealousy thing People love to say how big you are or whats changes about you then when you have the baby the one thing they are keen to know is if you have lost the baby weight! F**k Off is what I think and may say if anyone annoys me

I am tired too, fell asleep at work the other week doing a relaxation session! Was nice though. Did doze on bed today whilst DD watched tv next to me, kept having her lean over me and ask me things and try making me eat pretend food! Had a corker of a headache today, thought I would get some fresh air and went and shifted about 30 planks of wood in the garden of the grass (DH had left there) as grass dying under them, DH not impressed with me as said it was dangerous. Did not really improve my headache either
Going to lye on bed and watch a film and no doubt fall asleep during it!

Hopefully the sun will appear again soon as its getting depressing with this naff weather!

twinklytoes · 14/07/2008 22:32

celebrating births here.

friend delivered at 20.20. a baby girl.

couldn't believe how quick she progressed. waters were broken at 19.00 and 4cms. seemed impossible when the phone rang at 20.30 to say she was here!

third baby, no pain relief and all being well they are being discharged at half midnight.

can't wait for a cuddle tomorrow.

well my weight gain seems to have gone to my thighs and now have officially back fat!!!
have just got into work and wondering why since there is no work to do and i am in so late as just got back from the vets, my dog was coughing all over the place and it is like he has something at the back of his throat but turns out he has flipping kennel cough! so that set me back £100 for antibiotics and antiflammatries. wonder how the guys are gong to feel when i tell them as he is currently asleep under the desk! the vet said no stress but leaving him at home means stress as he gets separation anxiety at home alone. buggar knows what i am goign to do when i get a new job and cant take him into work wiht me anymore!

staceylouisex · 15/07/2008 12:51

Hey everyone, new here so thought i would say hi!

I am expecting my first baby, a little lady, 11th October! I have so much sorting out to do but cant master the energy! HELP! lol

As for the weight gain, ive gained around 2 and a half stone so far...so depressing!

WheresTheAuPair · 15/07/2008 15:23

hi staceylouiseex welcome to the thread-I can sympathise about the weight gain- have put on 2 stone so far as well
if its any consolation i put on 4 stone with my DS (who was a whopping 10 lbs 2oz) then did lose pretty much all the weight over the year after. Looks like i'm set to do the same again!! ahh well ....

staceylouisex · 15/07/2008 15:49

WOW!! Thats one big baby! lol well done on loosing most of it!

Its strange, i am eating quite healthy stuff but putting on loads - think i'll switch to chocolate and crisps 24/7

p.s I HATE THE HEAT!
