mum2jakeyroo · 02/06/2008 17:12

Also I wouldn't mind saying where I am located. Might be useful. I am near to Lancaster

rosebury · 02/06/2008 18:36

Evening ladies what a pace you all chat so much it is brilliant.

Nappies I am with the lazy lot disposables for me thankyou.

CSWS posting location is a great idea I am in Bristol.

I have revisited the due in May thread there are just a few left now but I have to say a massive wow to a lady called Kangaandroo who had a natural deiivery of her baby boy 11lb 2.5oz has anyone here ever had such a whopper? the idea makes my eyes water.

twinklytoes · 02/06/2008 18:47

found you!

1sttimer - matb1 can be officially issued from 24 / 25 weeks so get yourself off to your GP and get him to do it. round here theres a GP apt at 25wks esp for this. I'll get mine at 28wks from midwife, thankfully my HR aren't too bothered.

I've only got 13wks left at work with 2 of those as annual leave . taking sept off as annual leave and start mat leave on 1st oct.

dd1 took scan pics in for show and tell today. she was so excited telling her teachers about the scan this morning.

Good idea on the location thing - I'm near Oxford. But I am a social retard, so no chance of meeting up. (only half joking)

bethoo · 02/06/2008 20:54

if all goes well i will be having dd (feels weird typing that!) in Salisbury hosp. last year as i was leaving after having ds a memeber of staff waved me off with a see you next year! she cursed me!!
not on for long as Medium is on at 9 and will be watching it from my cross trainer which i dug out from the bedroom!

Lozza70 · 02/06/2008 21:29

Hi csws I'm happy to have location added to the list I'm in North East London.

mum2jakeyroo I have a similar pain in the bum and it's sciatia with me! But I went to the doctor and have been referred to the physio for assessment. Just expecting some exercises to do to try and strengthen that part of my back. I'm also having regular reflexology and that is helping with relaxation and the back but again I would ask your MW or doctor before going for reflexology as you have to be careful when preg.

Off on babymoon to Gozo for a week tomorrow and cannot wait. The weather has been awful in London and looking forward to a bit of sun. Our own pool so the general public does not have to witness Lozza in a bikini

CantSleepWontSleep · 02/06/2008 21:40

Happy holidays Lozza!

Lozza70 · 02/06/2008 21:44

Thanks CSWS! I'm sure I will come back to virtually a full thread again as everyone seems really chatty at the mo. Must go as the case is not packing itself. Speak in a week!

jenwa · 02/06/2008 21:52

CSWS my location is Worcestershire.

Have a good holiday Lozza

Currently sucking sweets as my left ear has been blocked for 3 days. Cant unblock it, think its because of my hayfever (hoping so and not that my hearing is getting worse!)

bethoo · 02/06/2008 22:08

i am of all those who are gong on babymoons! even a night at a hotel would be fine for me though that wont happen!
well off to bed if i can drag myself away!

hansnava · 02/06/2008 22:36

hello all.
snowymum- mine is also kicking really low. i keep getting worried incase its wind and not the baby at all.

i have my scan on monday and im really worried, i cant wait for the next 20 weeks to be over with its so nerve racking all the time.

i have been feeling movement since i was about 15 weeks but i dont feel it alot and when i do it only seems to be in the evening for some reason, is it just me or are some of urs the same?

i dont mind saying where im from either. im in luton lol

hansnava · 02/06/2008 23:00

also something else about getting kicks low down. does ne get kicks to their bladder. my lo keeps giving it a little boot and for a second i feel like im gonna wee myself (sorry if tmi)

twinklytoes · 02/06/2008 23:04

my kicks are low down too. not been very regular either, mainly for an hour or so each night. only got more regular this last week.

FranMum2B · 02/06/2008 23:25

Hi,I'm new to the site, I'm due with my first on 2nd Oct, we don't know the sex wanted a surprise. I'll be having it in Kingston, is there anyone else from my neck of the woods?
Its interesting to read about your nappy stories, looking into reusable ones a the mo.

Mum2jakeyroo:
I also have bum pain, I find stretches really helpful, and have been doing gentle pilates exercises, it might be worth seeing a physio for a one session for some advice

Jambers99 · 03/06/2008 07:43

Welcome Fran! I'm very impressed at anyone who can resist joining this thread until 20+ weeks - I was on here as soon as I got my BFP!

Got my scan a week today, can't wait - looking forward to finding out the sex, and (hopefully) getting some reassurance that all is still ok.

Good plan about putting location on. I'm in NW London & will be having the baby at Hillingdon Hospital.

star6 · 03/06/2008 08:21

Hi there! Just found you! I was wondering why no one had posted in a while on the other thread...
FranMum2B - I'm in Surbiton and will be hving my baby in Kingston as well! I'm having my first on the 12th (supposedly) and have been looking into reusables too.
We have a scan on Friday and hopefully we will find out the sex! Any tips on how to get the baby in a good position to find out the sex? At kingston, they say if the baby isn't in the proper position, they won't try to move it or anything and you might not be able to find out the sex.... I'd be really bummed if we couldn't. Any tips appreciated!!!

star6 · 03/06/2008 08:24

I had an antenatal appt with my GP yesterday and heard the heartbeat (second time) - it was still totally amazing!! I know it's in there, it's just so cool to hear it on the monitor. I can't believe I'm growing a little person inside of me!! I know this sounds so silly, but it's really quite amazing if you think about it...

snowymum · 03/06/2008 08:25

Just been looking into SMP and all that - I run my own business so i don't think i'll qualify for anything, as I will have to do work here and there to keep things ticking over right from the start. Maybe it won't come to more than 10 days which is the max you can do, but i don't want to chance it...

anyway, in looking around for info i found this link which seems really useful - produces a standard letter for your employer and a calendar of key dates and some good advice. hope it helps!

(sorry about all lower case - cat is sleeping on my wrists!)

sambrads · 03/06/2008 09:05

hello everyone i myself i have sore back and sciatia down my left leg which is very very sore

star i drank a bottle of lucazade before i went in to get scanned and i think it worked really well the baby was moving abot loads and she could do a good clear scan

someone mentioned they felt like the baby was kicking there bladder and i have the same feeling as this and its awful its stopping me walking its awful

star6 · 03/06/2008 09:08

thanks sambrads - was that the carbonated lucozade?

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/06/2008 09:09

Jenwa - are you in Worcs itself? It's where I'm from and my parents still live there .

Star - I think it's just luck as to whether or not your baby is in the right position (they couldn't tell with dd as the cord was running between her legs), but you could try drinking something like a cold can of coke before you go in, which will quite likely get it moving around lots, giving the best chance of it being in the right position at some point.

Welcome Fran. 2nd seems to be a popular due date for first timers!

hansnava - you probably notice the kicks more in the evening because you are busier during the day, and moving around will help to rock the baby to sleep!

bigmouthstrikesagain · 03/06/2008 09:22

Morning.

I have been up since 4am so today is going to feel very loong. Ds wet his bed so I stripped him and bed - put him in our bedside cot - dd was next to me and sleeping dh - but I could not get back to sleep - probly cos I had fallen asleep when putting dd down around 7.30pm (something I do several times a week).

Welcome franmum

star6 · 03/06/2008 09:51

I admire you bmsa... I'm freaking out about what dh and I will do with ONE child.... this puts it all into perspective!!!

1sttimer80 · 03/06/2008 09:54

Hi there...

Snowymum, thanks that info will be great.

hmm, I may call up my GP again and just reconfirm.

I've been having huge problems sleeping, the little one keeps kicking until late at night and then is upe arly the next day!! I'm a light sleeper so all I want to do right now is get into my bed! Weather isn;t helping... whinge whinge whinge!

putting down locations is a graet idea, live in Edgware, London and have dc at Royal free, hampstead.

Welcome franmum! We're due on the same day!
