Right so I need massive brick like pads and knickers I can throw away?? Think I have some black plain ones from Marksies but have a feeling arse will be too big for them by then .

Had 28 weeks bloods this morning - she got it right first time usually takes them ages.

Had a rough day yesterday - minipops kicks feel less strong so got myself all worked up - spesh after seeing MW who said - you'll have to ring the hospital if you don't feel anything for 2 days - is not that can't feel anything is just like they are deeper/muffled - am wondering if he/she has turned back to me?...Anyhoo went to bed and cried A LOT - maybe is hormones but sometimes do you ever just feel HOW AM I GOING TO COPE WITH EVERYTHING HOWL HOWL???

Feel like a zombie today - going to try to sneak home early for some R&R. How am I going to manage another 9 weeks at work

bethoo had to crawl in shoe cupboard for non-birkenstock shoes - why does every little job feel that bit harder these days??

Okay sorry for depressing post - am off to find comfort in sugar....

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 09/07/2008 12:04

perkypopsy hope cry helped out depressing day, also find that a mahoosive wodge of chocolate cake does the trick too.....

can't believe you're all packing your bags, argh really ought to get in the pads and nappies while i'm actually earning money!

bethoo · 09/07/2008 12:04

perky if you ever worry about not feeling anything lie down after drinking a cold sugary drink and you will start to feel movement. remember baby sleeps most of the time. i msut confess i do nto worry as i have my doppler. in my last preg i found that if baby had been non stop the day befroe the following day i felt nothing so i imagined it had tired himself out and was sleeping ot off! i was told should be able to feel movements everyday from 26 weeks. and it depends on way they are lying too if back to you you wont feel much. hope that is reassuring.

i live alone in an army camp so if i go into spontaneous labour i am screwed but i told my neighbour who said she will watch out for me and i told her to lay newspaper down in the back seat!

i guess that unti li know if i have diabetes again then i am not planning too far ahead, if it is GD again i will be induced so i have a fair idea of plans to make.

does anyone find that when they sit down you cant sit forward as it feels as though there is a foot or something prevetning you from curling forward?

bethoo · 09/07/2008 12:05

i am craving toffee crisps which is not doing my healthy eating any good!
jsut thought i would mention that, anyone else got cravings?

bethoo · 09/07/2008 12:20

oh and another thing, anyone elses nausea returned? i feel liek i ma back in the first trimester!

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/07/2008 15:53

When is your next GTT bethoo?
pmsl at your sister!

popsy - how funny that your mw wasn't at all bothered by yours being breech, and yet mine was. Oh well. I have a birthing ball in the loft from last time, but can someone tell me how to use it to actually help turn the baby? Last time I just bounced and sat on it a bit to help her engage.

AQ - hope you are taking it easy and not doing lots of chores at home instead of at work! Surely if they thought that labour was imminent for you then they would give steroids to develop the lungs?

Well building work has begun here today for the loft conversion. We have had at least 4 plumbers here all day moving lots of pipework that is on a wall that needs to go, and putting in new coffin tanks for the water down the sides of what will be the new room. Scaffolder due tomorrow, so we will really look like a building site after that!

I have my stinking headache back that I had twice in the first trimester. It has lasted 4 days so far, and even paracetamol isn't touching it. Am assuming it is due to sinuses again, as it's in the same place as usual (front of forehead on one side only). Really want it to go away so that I can properly enjoy best friend's wedding at the weekend. Shame the forecast is for rain for it.

perkypopsy · 09/07/2008 16:58

bethoo you are right - and he is still active just must be in a weird position - i too can't drive very well cos i feel like hands/feet are trapped where my jeans do up and where the seat belt is - was driving home yesterday trying to get it all undone ...not the cleverest of ideas
I am also starting to feel sick again - not as bad as before but familiar nausia when i need to eat or when have eaten too much
Just collected moses basket of my colleague - feel all smiley again - amazing what can perk you up isn't it?
gwtmh been feasting on celebrations today and yes were very helpful
csws we did foetal positionning at yoga yesterday - get on hands and knees and mke sure back is flat then rotate hips, then make circle bigger so moving your bodyweight forward over your hands - then do a figure of eight movement - so weird it made me giggle - let me know how you get on - have a whole sheet of them at home so can type them up for you tomoz

annwoo · 09/07/2008 19:09

Trying to keep up with all your posts and failing miserably.
Busy with toilet training ds and dd has just started walking.

CSWS - my yoga teacher who was also an ex midwife(1st pg - don't have time now) swears that acupunture works with a breech baby.
Worth a try maybe if all yoga positions fail to move the little one.

Also feeling extremely tired and low on energy at the mo.
Had a mid day sleep with the kids today so the house has gone to pot.

I must be bonkers to have 3 little ones under 3.

Hope everyone else has had a good day!

ronshar · 09/07/2008 19:23

I had my midwife appointment yesterday. I said to my midwife that I thought baby might be breech. She smile in a rather condesending mannor and said "dont worry ages yet". I have had 2 bloody babies before I know the difference between a kick in the fanny and a kick in the ribs. I was so annoyed at her I forgot to get annoyed when she didnt even have a feel to see if I was right. So I got to hear baby but I have no idea of position or anything. My measurment in up on the 60th centile mind you so not too happy about the potential size of this one.

ronshar · 09/07/2008 19:27

Popsy, if your baby is breech then your movemnets will all be low down apart from being headbutted in the ribs/liver/stomache. Also if baby is back to back you need to get it moveing. DD1 was delivered back to back, hideous. It also makes for a painful back for the last 6 weeks or so . That could explain your back pain now. Talk to your yoga lady to get some good exercises so we can all share them with you. I have a mental image of us all hanging off our beds and our DP/H looking at us like we are nutters. (more than normal for me anyway).

evening all. its been a dramatic week here.

dd2 woke with a rash on mon and took her off to the gp monday lunchtime. as we got out of the car I had a huge bleed and obviously panicked.

saw gp and got referral to MAU and then admitted. ended up being in until 3hrs ago. have had 2 rounds of steriods just in case have to deliver; had scan and have low lying placenta that has caused the bleed. no new bleeding so hoping its a one off.

placenta isn;t completly covering cervix so theres still hope for normal delivery but now on consultant care with review at 32wks to see where we go.

have been signed off now too and told to rest. how I'm going to do that with dds and summer holidays ahead but hey ho.

have been treated really well on the p-n ward. got an amenity room gratis which was lovely. mws were great and generally a really nice stay. just odd not having a baby with me though and everyone asking what I had had.

Oh and dd2's rash healed with some anti-histamines!

bethoo · 09/07/2008 20:56

CSWS GTT next thursday at 28 weeks.
when you use the ball, straddle it like you are squatting and gently roll your hips back and forth like a gentle rocking motion. it also helps open your hips for easier passage of baby so recommended in labour too.

ronshar · 09/07/2008 22:34

Whoa there Twinkly. I know we are all eager to meet our babies but there are no prizes for being first.
Glad it is all ok now and that DD is ok. Kids eh nothing but stress.

Jambers99 · 10/07/2008 07:29

Poor you twinklytoes, what a shock - but at least you were at the GP when it happened so able to get some immediate medical advice. Glad everything is ok for now, try and take it easy if you can. Just goes to show that just cos we made it through the first 12 weeks, our troubles aren't necessarily over!

We're going on holiday to Wales on Saturday for a week, so hope this pesky rain goes away.

rosebury · 10/07/2008 11:12

Morning ladies what a scare twinkly glad everything ok now make sure that you rest if that is possible with a little one around.

I have mw appt this afternoon so am trying to think positbely but she always makes a negative comment about something that might happen in the future. I then have a visit to the dentist for my check up.

For me the emotions have returned not quite as bad as the were in early pg but I am starting to cry at the tv again.

speak to you later.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 10/07/2008 11:52

agh twinkly, do rest up and be careful! rosebury i know exactly what you mean - my hormones are turning my emotions inside out at the mo

am totally confused about anti d - I'm having my first injection at 32 weeks! what's right, should I be kicking up a fuss??

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 10/07/2008 16:03

that's what I thought....best call them tomorrow when i have my notes on me then cos it is a bit weird, i was sure it was 28 and 34 weeks.....she made the appointment with the hospital who knew my gestation so would have thought it odd they would different dates to everyone else - they triple checked i hadn't had the injection yet as well....

sambrads · 10/07/2008 17:10

hi ya ladies can i ask you about chicken pox???

my friends dd has them and we have planned to go out on sat night . should i just avoid her dd or avoid my friend and her husband as well???

baby well in truely kicking like mad she keeps putting her toes under my ribs it would nearly take your breath away

my next scan is on 17th july i will be 29 and 1/2 weeks so so exciting

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/07/2008 19:08

If you've had chicken pox before sambrads then you don't need to avoid anyone at all.

Emmsy1 · 10/07/2008 19:50

Twinklytoes I had the same thing happen to me with my first DS, I was approx 20 wks and on holiday in Zante at the time, I had to be admitted into there hospital, no one could speak fluent English, it was a nightmare! When I finally got home I was told it was because of a low lying placenta, it did move up in order for me to have a vaginal delivery, but I had a lot of bleeding when I went into labour, and had 'lots' of people in the room with me, felt like I was an attraction at a freak show. Baby finally came out and all was well! Sure all will be ok

bethoo · 10/07/2008 21:16

sambrads you should be ok anyway as chicken pox is only contagious before the spots appear.
feeling sorry for myslef as went home as soon as i got to work as i felt sick and then when i got home i had really bad diahhorea! so not sure if i had a bug or just mornign sickness! get bad tummy quite alot does anyone else?

bigmouthstrikesagain · 10/07/2008 21:30

Bethoo - as far as I am aware I am afraid Chicken pox is still infectious till the spots are healing over - I know as ds and dd had it a few weeks ago and the doctor advised me about when they could return to pre-school etc. - I ended up having a bloodtest to make sure I had immunity (my mum couldn't remember if I had Chicken pox as a child) - I was immune.

Sambrads - I wouldn't worry as I doubt there are many adults who haven't had Chicken pox as a child - but speak to your midwife if you are concerned.
