hi everyone just got back from the helldays at parents with no internet! really do not know why i go since my mum cant even look at me let alone talk to me so very uncomfortable and tense.
i literally pour on baby oil every morning and night in the hope of staving off the dreaded stretchies!
watched House tonight, does anyone else watch it? bloody good tonight but then they all are!
i bought some new maternity trousers with the stretchy band where the pockets are but find they are still too big and fall down. does anyone else have that problem?
talking aobut weight gain i now weight just over 9 stone so gained a stone!
Ronshar good news about the scan.
so glad to be in my own home. when at the parents have to be on red alert since my mum knew we were coming yet left crystal glasses on bottom shelves and ornaments on low shelves!! must stop now as 1. tired and 2 will not know when to stop and rant about her behaviour this week!

4andnotout · 26/06/2008 22:28

Hi everyone, havent been on this thread in ages.
I actually wore a pair of maternity jeans today, i still look like im fat rather than pregnant but oh well! Baby is always kicking and squirming now, we are undecided on a name for her.
I picked a double pram out as dd3 will only be 13months when dd4 arrives so looking forward to ordering that in next month or so.

Lozza70 · 26/06/2008 22:55

I've been in maternity trousers for a couple of weeks now and must be looking preg rather than fat as I am getting offered a seat on the tube more frequently which is great. Struggling with the below bump trousers though as I keep thinking they are falling down. Why won't someone invent maternity braces??

emkay · 26/06/2008 23:18

My DP keeps mentioning how good dungarees look on pregnant women at which point I thump him... . It stopped me complaining about my trousers falling down for about five minutes though.

hedgepig · 27/06/2008 09:33

I have the falling down trousers problem too. I'm Ok with cotton ones with drawstrings but jeans are a nightmare I'm on my 3rd style and they still don't stay up. I have worn more dresses in the past few weeks than I ever have in my life.

Accesorizequeen thanks. I really don't want to be restricted by a CFM but I'm of the play it by ear and see how it goes on the day scool of thought. I will raise it at my next consultants appointment as I really want to use the pool.

twinklytoes · 27/06/2008 09:42

I'm in the falling down trousers too, have got so fed up that have bought some over bump ones from H&M. They have been really comfortable though I'm not sure if they'll be big enough come the end.

Morning ladies talking of weight gain I am huge people think that I am about to drop and look at me in utter disbelief when I tell them how much further I have to go. Maternity jeans are hard work dresses and skirts are so much more comfortable and in the early evening I get changed into a long t shirt type nightshirt they are so comfy and cheap asda matalan primark all sell them for about £4 each and if you get the biggest size possible they will last and if you get the type with buttons then they are good for bfeeding not very sexy though but who cares.

Baby moving lots which is great having trouble dressing I can hardly reech my feet and fall over when trying to put on my knickers do you think that Demi Moore had the same issues when she was pg and did that fab picture maybe I should try to get dh to do one of me.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 27/06/2008 11:42

morning! thanks ronshar - seems to be the recurring theme that hospital you're much more likely to have c-section and of course access to all the drugs I really don't want to take (not to be a martyr mind you!) I have my 26 wk appt with midwife in a few weeks so I might start talking it through with her - at the end of the day, if it looks like anything is going wrong then they surely just get an ambulance and rush you off? have told DH i want us to at least look at as an option....

stretchmarks subject afraid I have bought into the hope that rubbing bio oil and argan oil over bump and boobs will reduce the chances! i have stretch marks on my hips from puberty but not my boobs (which grew massively very quickly), mum also had hip marks but not anywhere else - please let me be like her!

bigmouthstrikesagain · 27/06/2008 13:14

Hello all - there seems to be a few with Oneg which is interesting. I hate the injection but it is not the end of the world.

Can't stop as neglecting the children/ house terribly at the moment - but I got my first braxton hicks last night - wondered if anyone else had yet? - it was very strange can't recall if I had them this early previously.

Tightening of the bump and pain across the tummy - stopped after a minute or so.

IO have had a homebirth for dd and am planning one for this dd - I was much happier at home despite no drugs and I used a birthing pool (still have it) for pain relief before having dd on living room floor. Great being able to go straight to own bed and not have to cope with being in strange hospital surroundings. I am happy to go in if any sifgn of complications though no question.

Alexa808 · 27/06/2008 15:17

Oh sambrads, I wants a scan too

BMSA, no, how interesting. I haven't had any.

I can see my tummy lifting and hands and feet underneath it, but can't make out yet, what is what. Can anyone see if it's a hand or a foot? I'm so curious to see baby. I was really surprised at the 22 week scan picture, the facial features seem so clear. I'm just amazed by it all.

Alexa808 · 27/06/2008 15:19

Ah, re weight gain, can only say I've got cellulite on the front of my upper legs.... Don't even want to mention the back.

Sallypuss · 27/06/2008 16:22

Don't go there on the weight gain. I haven't been anywhere near the scales since before I got pregnant so don't actually know how much weight I've gained. Someone I hadn't seen for about a month told me I was 'huge' this week (gee, thanks) assuming she meant it was all baby as someone else said I hadn't put weight on anywhere else other than my bump(which I don't feel to have but I guess that's all still to come....). Still can't come to terms with people commenting on my body to my face - very odd

i feel totally ignorant when it comes to braxton hicks i didnt get ne with dd so dont know what to look out for. i do keep getting period type pains that last for about 30 seconds but i have just been putting that down to wind i do also keep getting a tight heavy feeling at the bottom of belly but that i just assumed was baby moving and layinmg across the bottom of belly. good job actual labour is pretty obvious or id still be waiting at home when lo comes out.

does ne one else get cramp in belly if u stand up to fast?

accessorizequeen · 27/06/2008 20:48

sallypuss, wish I had read your post before I weighed myself this morning. I know it's twins, but still, over two stone at 26 weeks!!!!
hedgepig, I've read of women on here who did use the pool and got out regularly to be monitored. i agree pool would be fab, just never have had the chance and won't this time!

OP posts:
bethoo · 27/06/2008 21:14

i bought some size 8 maternity combats from Dprothy Perkins and they fall down all the time. annoying!
ref stretch marks i avoided them last time and am hoping the same this time! i know they say it is genetic and my mum got riddled with them on her first so maybe it has something to do with weight gain and diet and lifestyle you know?
i find it uncomfortable lying on my side as it is painful i think the baby pushes the weight down so it stretches, does anyone else have this?
i know it is wrong at some stage to lie on your back but forget when that is as i still am!

4andnotout · 27/06/2008 22:12

I have added a picture of my sudden bump appearence, it wasn't there last week i assure you!

rosebury · 27/06/2008 22:30

oh ladies just a quick post before big brither comes back on. It sounds as though some of you have nothing at all to worry about as far as weight is concerned only gained 8lb I could gain that in a week let alone after 20 plus wks of pregnancy and size 8 maternity trousers good god the only size 8 that would fall off me would be shoes.

Home birth every time here all in favour most fab experience ever. sorry got to go now bb coming back on.

bethoo · 27/06/2008 23:08

cant see a bump 4

caramelbunny · 28/06/2008 08:31

Talk of weight gain is making me feel like a right bloater, have put on stone and a half.

Sorry to hear getting SPD hans, I've been pretty bad with it for last couple of weeks (got it last pg too but much later). Got physio appt in 2 weeks to get pelvis realigned, expecting a miracle cure.

I'm religiously applying stretch mark cream in morning and bio oil at night. Worked last pg and my mum and sister both got horrendous stretchmarks (meant to be genetic).

Hoping for home birth myself but friend who lives locally had baby a couple of weeks ago and when she phoned the midwife was told there wasn't anyone available so she had to go into hospital, how disappointed would you be!

Glad all's well with scans.
