Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
kayzisexpecting · 10/06/2008 15:59

I'm a 40DD so far. Do not want them to get any bigger but I do want them to stay like this so that I also don't have empty paper bags.

EffiePerine · 10/06/2008 16:01

Still 30G from DS (still bfing though). Was 32F before 1st pg, so may be destined for rounded shoulders and backache

artichokes · 10/06/2008 16:55

Gosh I am flat chested. 34C. I didn't even go up a size when breast feeding DD for 14 months!

The hospital has just called me back and said they agree I should have a cardiac scan. which is good but of course I was sort of hoping they would say I have nothing to worry about. They have also freaked me out be suggesting genetic counselling. Snorris were you recommended genetic counselling when you had a nuchal result of 3.1mm? Would you have found it helpful before finding out about your DD's heart?

mibbes · 10/06/2008 17:00

Tasha so sorry

Thanks so much theyoungvisiter such comprehensive advice

kayz I had a few 'spewy' days at just over 12 weeks - my sis-in-law told me that because the placenta is starting to take over it can cause low blood sugar and therefore sickness - don't know where she got this from. I had ginger nuts at hand to relieve sickness and it passed after a few days

Ha ha LadyThompson ikwym about the belly - other ladies on here were discussing their bump spreading to their boobs and I feel the same - if I eat too much I get a wee jiggly pot belly, but at the moment I have a 'swollen' area from my pants all the way to my bra ! It is less jiggly than a crisp-belly too I tried on mat jeans which I'd bought a few weeks ago but they are under bump ones and fall down when I walk and show my builder's bum when I sit down - they remind me of very irritating hipster jeans I had a few years back - I think these will go the same way - BIN ! Anyone found good mat jeans that stay up but are not super-uncool ? Also my boob have gone from 34C/D to 36 DD - I feel like I am a pair of boobs on legs some days ! Mind you I'm a long way behind you EffiePerine - 34G !!!

JamInMyWellies · 10/06/2008 17:15

Think I win on the most flat chested. I was a 34A when I got preg with DS went up to a B then D while feeding then went down to an AA! Think they are back to a B again but my old mat bras feel v. unconfortable so will have to head to JL and get re-measured.

All maternity jeans are rubbish I refused to get anything other than under the bump ones last time round far to fashion conscious until I ended up trying on a pair of over the bump ones when I was 8mth and the relief of having the bump supported It doesnt seem to matter how big or small your bump the under the bump ones are rubbish.

Tasha am so

Disenchanted how did you get on?

kayzisexpecting · 10/06/2008 17:42

I was just thinking about Disenchanted too Jam. I do hope it went well.

Sorry not read anything today as been out.

Bleedy red blood and have period like pains

Trying not to cry as just me and dd here as dh is away and don't want to upset her

JamInMyWellies · 10/06/2008 19:26

oh SB am so sorry. Can you get into your local EPU. Is your DP able to come back or is he too far away?

southernbelle77 · 10/06/2008 19:39

He's in Brussels and not due back til tomorrow night. I've not told him as he will only worry more and that will make me worry more.

I'm trying not to stress too much. It's been lighter than I first thought it was and is sort of pinky and there has been no more since (have been to toilet about 5 times in 30 minutes!) Will see what happens the rest of the night. don't want to go to epu without dh. It's not open til 9am anyway.

JamInMyWellies · 10/06/2008 19:41

Ask a friend to have DD tom morning and go camp out in the EPU. In the meantime try not to panic I know easier said than done. Put your feet up dont go humping heavy things about.

Take care.

snorris · 10/06/2008 20:56

Look after yourself southernbelle.

Artichokes we weren't offered anything after the 12 week scan . We refused an amnio/CVS because it wouldn't have changed our decision anyway. I did opt out of the NHS system and go with an independent midwife but not until well after my 20 week scan.
When dd1 was diagnosed with her heart condition they did send some blood off for testing as her particular problem can be linked with a chromosone deletion. In her case it isn't-just a random occurence. I think some sort of counselling may have been helpful but only because I like to be prepared.
Feel free to ask as many questions as you like. I'll tell you as much (or as little) as you want to know. I know what it's like to be stressing about the uncertainty (sp?) of it all. I'm also having a cardiac scan so we can hold (virtual) hands through this

IceCube · 10/06/2008 22:23

Southernbelle - hope everything is ok and you get to see someone tomorrow morning.

Disenchanted - is that first scan real, my pictures weren't that clear and it looks like a very laid back baby with hands behind head

I like the under bump Blooming marvellous jeans so far but I am using a belt and they have a bit of room in them for later. I was planning to wear them with one of those support band things so them not being supportive wouldn't be a problem. Guess I'll see how I like them as things progress though.

southernbelle77 · 11/06/2008 06:41

Still got abdominal cramps and bleeding a bit (although it's gone brown now - sorry tmi).
Going to tell dh when he calls in a minute and see what he thinks to do. I'm feeling sick with worry so think I need to go to epu as this worry isn't good. Only problem is that I need to find someone to have dd and also I am meant to be working today so will have to let two families down

kayzisexpecting · 11/06/2008 06:45

Southernbelle, I am so sorry this is happening. Don't worry about letting people down. You are the most important person here and you have got to go to the EPU.

OP posts:
EffiePerine · 11/06/2008 07:26

Southernbelle: do get to the EPU. Hoping everything is OK.

pixsix · 11/06/2008 08:32

Thinking of you Southernbelle

hattyyellow · 11/06/2008 09:01

Southernbelle thinking of you today - you have to think of yourself and get checked out. Hope you can find someone to look after DD - everything crossed for you.

southernbelle77 · 11/06/2008 10:01

Thanks everyone. Trying to stay positive. Waiting for epu to call me back to see what to do. They said it's good that its not bright red. Thinking maybe have a urinary infection so guess I might have to go and do a sample. Hope it's that, although obviously still worrying that it might not be.

Let parents down this morning although all were ok (one knows I'm pg, other don't).

MIL been here this morning but just gone. She did say she would change her plans and stay but said I would be fine and it was ok! DD being quite good so I've not been up to anything really.

Hope they call soon. I hate waiting and worrying.

LadyThompson · 11/06/2008 10:47

Lots of rest, Southernbelle. Could well be a urinary infection, especially if you keep having to wee.

chutneymary · 11/06/2008 10:56

Oh southernbelle, I am sorry to read about this. Take care and rest well XX

hattyyellow · 11/06/2008 11:00

Southernbelle that's good that they are seeing what they can do. Hope you manage to get an appointment soon, you must be finding it hard to concentrate on anything today. Hugs to you.

Turnip good to have you back. That's rotten luck that you have to go alone to the scan - might they change the time at all if you asked? Maybe they might have had a cancellation?

Disenchanted great news about the scan. Hope you feeling better today.

Gettingbigger I well remember the hilarity my twin pregnancy caused half my friends! Not always so amusing when you're the one who's pregnant!

I love the chocolate theory and justified eating lots of DD's potty-training-bribery chocolate buttons yesterday by it!

I am going maternity shopping end of next week. It's ridiculous - I tried on a skirt this morning I wore last week and could only do the zip half up! Still wondering quietly if there are twins in there!

I have such a dislike of maternity clothes in general. They always seem to fit badly, fall down, stick into my bump, irritate me generally and why do they have to be so unflattering!

Mibbes if it's any consolation my wee has been a strange colour since the beginning of the pregnancy and was the same last time around...so it seemed more to be hormones making it that colour rather than hydration IYKWIM.
