Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
JODIEhavingababy · 21/05/2008 22:12

Hi all,

Feeling much better now, been to Yoga, so feeling abit more 'focused' and better about all my new purchases today. I bought a lovly PJ set from Mothercare, was £22.00, but I won't wear it until after the birth so I feel all clean and new! It's brown and cream and soft and lovely. I then counter acted that and bought a button down nighty for £6.00 from Matalan, for when I don't give a monkeys!

I have a pile, just one, but it flares up every now and again. I asked about it on here and someone suggested Anusol, which I used and it's gone! You can use it when pregnant, so the packet says!

Rumple - Congrats, must be such a weight off your mind!

mummypig · 21/05/2008 23:48

hello there, haven't been on for a while but trying to keep up with all the messages...

Having had no BH until about 32 weeks I've been having loads recently, but based on some comments above maybe I'm not drinking enough.

Getting a bit of help taking the boys to school so I'm able to rest more, which is good, as the spd pain comes on pretty quickly if I walk anywhere. And even doing not very much I seem to get horrendously tired. I have also been sleeping on my right side not left, based on advice from the physio, so ds3 has moved and is now ROA instead of LOL but that's not too bad and at least his head is down near my pelvis.

Used one of my vouchers yesterday to have a full leg and bikini wax at home and a pedicure too! so now I am very smooth (even my belly) and with painted toenails .

Jodie - I have done a similar thing with my nursing bras. I have some old ones I'm wearing at the moment but some new/newish ones (from eBay and from here) that I'm saving until afterwards

pigley sorry to hear about that pain, maybe it was a trapped nerve due to the way you were sleeping?

peanut at your MIL wanting to come to an antenatal appt with you. I can't imagine what I would have done if dp's mum had said that in my previous pregnancies (she's passed away now).

Now, just to make sure you've all packed our hospital bags, another mum at the school had her little one at the weekend - 5 weeks early!! and was still back for her dd's birthday party on Sunday . I went off to buy some more maternity pads after I'd heard the news, as they were one of the few things I didn't have ready. But my ds2's party is when I'm 37 weeks and I really don't want anything to happen before then. In fact I'm holding off the raspberry leaf tea for now as I don't want to encourage my uterus to get going too soon.

Good night ladies, sleep tight

isaidno · 22/05/2008 03:43

Insomnia strikes here; having a cup of tea to try and relax. Mind going overtime re the vasa previa.
Despite my earlier insistence that I did not want a section, now I do just so I know this lo is going to arrive safely.

Hope the rest of you are tucked up in bed with sweet dreams xx

isaidno · 22/05/2008 04:43

Had 2 cups of tea, a biscuit and some bran flakes.
Going to try going back to bed now. DC get up for school in 2 hours.

isaidno · 22/05/2008 07:27

Good morning; here I am again!

sweetkitty · 22/05/2008 07:38

isaidno - that pregnancy insomnia is a killer isn't it when you just can't switch off. I have no advice re the vasa previa you just have to do what you feel is right for you. If you do decided on an elective section don't feel like a failure who cares how they get here as long as they do safe and sound.

mummypig - hello again must be nice to get pampered I am definitely having a massage once both DDs are in nursery and I have a bit ot time to myself. I never really do anything for myself fell too guilty and would rather spend the money on the DC. My right side "crunched" this morning as I was turning over in bed, ouch going to pay for that today. I think all the good work from the physio has been undone, I wonder if she would come to my house at 8pm every night and sort my pelvis out?

mummywannabee - I think I have a pile too or it might be a skin tag I'm not too sure it's not sore or anything I did have a pile after DD2 was born but some Anusol cleared it up. Oh the joys of being pregnant.

Plans for today bit of shopping then toddlers with DD2.

Minkus · 22/05/2008 07:54

Well after a great day yesterday I had a blimmin awful night- so really feel for you isaidno if you were awake lots too.

DS seems like he's got an ear infection and only managed to sleep for 20 mins at a time, he was really sobbing in between poor love. He came into our bed and dh went into his. Worst night we've ever had with him including all the baby days, DH is away all weekend so I was selfishly looking forward to ds going to nursery today so I could "prepare" myself for the weekend alone! Oh well it's not to be. Think I got about 2 hours sleep in the night and so I am reaaaaaally looking forward to naptime later!

Ouch SK about the crunch of your elvis.

Minkus · 22/05/2008 07:55

Ha sorry pelvis

pigleychez · 22/05/2008 08:04

Typical!
Why is it that before i started Maternity leave i struggled to wake every morning, yet now im on maternity leave im awake much earlier than i would be on a work day!

well i plan a lazy day today so not going to get dresed for ages yet, just lounge on the sofa watching tv.

Only real plans for today, wash baby clothes. Cant wait to see them all hanging on the line!

DH has got a longuer out the shed for me too ( bless him) so hope to catch a few rays before the rain heads this way for the bank holiday.

Peanut73 · 22/05/2008 08:34

isaidno - you poor thing doing the graveyard shift with mind in top gear.

mummypig - hello to you! I would like to get a bikini wax too... for some reason I feel a bit strange about getting one whilst so heavily pregnant, as if it's weird or something... I don't know why, stupid huh?

pigleychez - haha - me too! I normally find it hard to drag my sorry butt out of bed before 8am for work, but I've been up fresh as a daisy since 5.45am! It's all psychological I'm sure.

Plans for today: 10.30am: builder coming over to look at disgusting rotting bathroom which is being renovated in two weeks time (which is why this baby can't come early!)

2.45pm: obstetrician's appointment following up from last week's hospital foray.

In between: MN!
xx

JODIEhavingababy · 22/05/2008 08:39

Morning all,

ISAIDNO and MINKUS, hope you manage to catch up on your sleep later, and MINKUS I hope your DS is feeling better today.

SWEETKITTY - Just think in about 8 weeks you will never have to worry about your SPD again!

PIGLEY - I'm so of you, I really need to get loads of work done today as MIL and FIL are on holiday and Obviously can't have DS tomorrow as they normally would, so I wish I could sit on lounger.... Not working next week though so I can sort out nursery and Ikea trips, bet the weather is rubbish!

JODIEhavingababy · 22/05/2008 08:40

Morning PEANUT, hope your appt goes well..

pigleychez · 22/05/2008 08:55

God im turning into my MIL by say this this...

(shes addicted to GMTV- what they say is gosspel!)

Just seen an interview with a family who have 13 children! And they want more! Seems shes been pregnant for 10 years of her life

Theres a programme about it Tonight on Channel 4 at 9pm

Should be worth a watch.

Peanut- hope it goes ok with the consultant today

JODIEhavingababy · 22/05/2008 08:58

Oh Pigley, I saw that advertised, I don't think I could go through the pain of watching it... Sometimes You just know whats going to be covered, eg, how much shopping they have to buy, how much washing they have to do, how much food they have to prepare!! Maybe I'm being abit hormonally moody though!

isaidno · 22/05/2008 09:19

13 children is a little excessive - people think you are a little unhinged when you are on your 3rd!

Minkus · 22/05/2008 09:29

There's a thread about that story here pigley. 13 children in a normal sized house! Wow what organisational skills they must have, bet they've got umpteen plastic storage boxes too eh

There's a family in the states with about 18 children and every time I see them on tv I am transfixed! the duggar family They must be so committed to their families, with 13/18 children!

JODIEhavingababy · 22/05/2008 09:37

MINKUS - when i said those comments, I dodn't mean to degrade the parents for wanting/having so many kids, all power to them, if thats what they want and can support it.. I'm just assuming what the ITV documentary will focus on!

EEC · 22/05/2008 09:45

Pregnant for 10 years!11 . My DH would leave me I'm sure - I'm so awful when pregnant!
Miserable and weepy yesterday, feel a bit better today I think.

Am sitting here on my birthing ball for the first time. It seems quite comfy, unlike LO who is in all sorts of uncomfortable and strange positions.

Goodluck peanut.

JODIEhavingababy · 22/05/2008 09:50

EEC, I know exactly where your coming from, My DH has refused point blank to have another as he hates it when I'm pregnant! (Also, all those sleepless nights and moaning about feeding and talking about the colour/consistancy of the poo!!!)

JODIEhavingababy · 22/05/2008 09:51

Babies, not mine

Heffa · 22/05/2008 09:55

My LO was giving me such a kicking last night! And I keep waking up early too.

13 children I'm quite keen on having a couple more, but I'm not sure I could handle another 12 bouts of morning sickness.

I was going to wash baby clothes today but the weather doesn't look very promising. I just checked out the 5 day forecast and it's rain every day Typical! Does anyone have any nice bank holiday plans?

Libra1975 · 22/05/2008 10:02

isaidno - I would have joined you if I had known anyone would have been online. Last night was my first proper bout of pregnancy insomnia, coupled with restless/achey legs and being absolutely STARVING. Feeling very sorry for myself at work today and refuse to take any major decisions due to brain fog. Nevermind, only one more day and then have lovely week off with DH next week our last holiday time together just the 2 of us!

Minkus - hope your DS feels better soon, it must be horrible to see your children in pain when yuo can't do anything about it.

Mummypig, your bit of pampering sounds lovely. Painted toenails are very important!

I'm cross about having to be pregnant for 9 months, I think 10 years would be hell!!

CilC · 22/05/2008 10:15

Hi everyone, have actually managed to get up! With SPD can not move hips, legs or roll over and with broken rib can not sit up, breathe or sleep... thank goodness I can use the phone! Have had many friends and family calling so that has helped. Normally would read, but can't even move arms very well.
DH is working from home and we have hired a personal nurse who has been helping me which is good. She has taught DH some manual handling tips for caring for me which is good...and sadly I can not ablute by myself at the moment! It is very frustrating but can not cry or laugh - too painful (I have tried!!!)

My poor DD is sooo out of sorts, but thankfully her nursery has taken her on fulltime. She has been having some trouble dealing with Mum being pregnant just in the last week and now this. I got DH to look for some books on amazon for her to help with her expectations - if anyone can recommend anything I would appreciate it.

Congrats Rumpel on finishing study! I tried to do that when pregnant with DD and unfortunately had to get an extention; in hindsight completing when DD was only 3 months was even more mad! But I do recall how happy I was and the relief I felt!

13 children...I think I have done my bit! 2 will have to do!

Sorry to all those having trouble sleeping... and sorry if I have missed anything else out but I do need to go now.

CilC · 22/05/2008 10:21

Cilcs hubby here, she wants me stay thankyou for your kind thoughts/wishes.

minipinkscottish · 22/05/2008 10:25

Morning all! My good friend and child minder has 13 children. The oldest is 32 and has 5 children of her own and the youngest is almost 10. She has 11 grandchildren in all and 5 of her dc still stay at home. She has looked after my children for years while I work and has had a few others to look after as well. All of the children think she is wonderful.
She was 50 last year and looks in her 30's - I don't know how she does it - she is fab!
I'm sure she would have gone on having babies if nature had allowed!! Oh and she has been married 33 years. This is an example of a wonderful big family but being a teacher I have met a few that make you wonder WHY? Everyone to their own I suppose....oh and although i am on number 6 this will be the last I'm mad but not that mad!!
