Morning all.

Well great night out last night but boy am i suffering now.
I am knackered!!!

It was very warm here yesterday and i did find it abit too much. Made everything more of a effort. Forecast is to be abit cooler today so hopefully that will help.

Sounds like we might have some more babys soon- How exciting

isaidno · 10/06/2008 09:30

Morning all!
Glad you had a nice trip Gilly.

Libralady - your situ sounds like a nightmare, hope something gets sorted out - or baby arrives whenever is most convenient!

I am so ready for this baby to come; even if you are basically well and not suffering pregnancy sucks! I'm hot, uncomfortable, can't bend, my trousers fall down and I'm fed up of waiting. [grumpy face]

justjules - nice undies - I might pop over to mothercare for a look later in the week.

tafftaff · 10/06/2008 09:35

Morning all,

BIG BIG CONGRATULATIONS TJUICE. Elodie's lovely.

Sorry it's been a while since I've posted. I have been lurking but unfortunately super busy so unable to post as much. Only 6 working days left and then I can spend more time on MN!

I find it fascinating that we are all going through such similar feelings and emotions at the moment. We'd make a great study to map out how pregnancy develops over time. My indigestion has pretty much disappeared now as the baby has definitely dropped leaving me more space for food but a tiny bladder. Broke my record of getting up 4 times for a pee the other night! Sleep is starting to be a bit hit and miss and my pelvis is starting to feel more fragile as if it'll sprain if I make one wrong move!

Needless to say, all of this, and the appearance of some new lovely babies on this thread are not making me want this LO to come out any quicker. I still need time to mentally prepare. I'm not sure what it is that I am exactly waiting for, some sort of epiphany that it'll all be OK, but it is a real rollercoaster ride for me around giving birth. A friend of mine had hers a few weeks ago and said it was the most amazing experience so I am going to give her a call to get some inspiration. I think it is starting to make me anxious hearing all the horror stories from friends (and strangers in shops, at the tills etc..) and very few positive experiences!

Sorry about fessing up to being scared and posting such a long one! Am sure it is just my hormones! On the bright side, am loving the glorious weather and have the day off so am going to have a relaxing day doing very little and meeting DP in town for an early dinner and then to the movies to watch Sex and the City!

X

mummy2bsoon · 10/06/2008 09:35

im 35 weeks tmw, should i go and by nursing bras?

minipinkscottish · 10/06/2008 09:38

Morning!

Take care twinke - looking forward to the twin news

I also feel shattered - not sleeping at all well and have swollen glands and sore throat this morning too! Got so much to do and no energy to do it !
On a brighter note our remortgage actually completed this morning!!!! that's a huge relief as it has dragged on a bit!

Can anyone recommend a nice double buggy for new Lo and my ds? Not too expensive as this would just be as an extra for big shopping trips etc

sweetkitty · 10/06/2008 09:42

tafftaff - I don't think I ever felt "ready" to be a Mum and I'm on number 3. I don't think theres a day you suddenly think "thats it I'm ready" nothing can prepare you for it. OK labour and childbirth isn't the best way to spend a few hours but once it's over you will have a new little person in your life. It's so hard to describe the feelings but it will so so worth it. I think everyone always focuses on the birth which is such a small part, afterwards I always go on such a high (hormones are fab) like you feel teh most amazing woman in the world as you have "done it". Please don't let the horror stories get to you, I think it's horrible telling pregnant women horror stories yes you get a few but the majority of births are straightforward.

mummy2bsoon - I bought some bras last week, bought my regular bra size and a cup size up, will see how I get on with them before buying some more. Maybe buy some cheaper ones to begin with.

I have came back from nursery full of things to do and have sat here all morning.

Oh trampoline arrived.

And why can't the sodding weather make up it's mind, one minute it looks like it's going to pour down next minute it's sunny, shall I put the washing out?

Libra1975 · 10/06/2008 09:50

Morning all,
LibraL sorry to hear that your DH working situation has actually got worse, I presume you know legally that his company can't stop him taking paternity leave (don't know if he is just a contractor tho).

sweetkitty/disneystar - snap that's exactly how my LO is lying at the moment, every now and then I get a pain and I think it has moved into the pelvis area only for 5 minutes later it gives itself a wiggle and is back lying transverse. Keep spanking it on it's bottom (VERY VERY lightly) to get it to move!
mcchesers - hope you feel better soon x

sweetkitty, it's only 9:48 it hardly qualifies as ALL morning, if I was at home I would still be in bed

mini - great news on mortgage, one less thing to worry about

Gillythekid - swimming sounds heaven right now, floating around with no weight!

TaffTaff - one thing I have learnt in this pregnancy is the minute people start telling me negative birth stories I ASK THEM TO STOP. Don't do it to yourself, it will make you feel more tense. I think giving your friend a call sounds a great idea.

Yoga teacher had a lovely idea of doing the class outside last night, well it would have been a lovely idea if I don't have horrible hayfever, had to leave the class after 15 minutes and it took the rest of the night sitting in a stuffy house for sneezing/eyes running to stop. Phoned a GP friend who said if his wife was really really suffering that he would prescribe piriton but that's it. I don't know why I am so lassize-faire about 2 glasses of wine a week but can't bring myself to take hayfever medicine!

ButterflyMcQueen · 10/06/2008 10:06

had the WORST night on record last night culminating in wandering the house looking out of the windows
had to tell dp to just ignore me as i was huffing and puffing so much! now my eyes are stinging and feel a waste of space

got lots of mums and babes coming round in half an hour and not dressed yet ...good job ds is on exam leave to help me brew up for them 18 times!

am seriously nesting now- finished decorating lounge thing yesterday - a deep purple wall - dp says i am turning into Prince!

ordered white feeding bra and new crib mattress along with new dressing gowns from white company..lush!

One of my friends this morning is due on friday!!

best go and try to look human!

ButterflyMcQueen · 10/06/2008 10:08

so sorry that was 'all about me' will read all posts later - i tend to save them up and read them all in the evening but by the time i have dinner atm its after 10 as we DIY so much - and then i am too tired to post ! am thinking of you all esp poor working ones!

disneystar · 10/06/2008 10:26

im not mentally ready either ive birthed 6 babies all naturally
and every time i wake up in labour i always say to DH no way im not ready yet
i am scared though labour and birth is a scary place to be if you are not relaxed and go with your body
one thing i always remember when it happens is
this is not going to stop
it is going to get worse till you think you can bear no more
then we are holding them saying
awww id do it all again wasnt that bad
who designed our minds to be like that its just so not fair
going to see mw today
libra i get up at 5.30-6am every day and i dont work no more
got 1 disabled son to see to to shower dress etc.... and 2 others to get of to school
no idea how im going to fit in feeding too
im sure it will slot together somehow

tafftaff · 10/06/2008 10:31

Thanks SK and Libra...that helps tremendously! I think I am going to have to stop people telling me their horror stories and learn to not pass on mine after my LO arrives! It's definitely taking the shine off the excitement of the baby arriving but like you said, it'll all be worth it in the end.

Sk..very jealous of the trampoline. Shame you wont be able to have a play but at least you'll still have plenty of the summer to enjoy it after the LO arrives.

Libra, sorry to hear about the hayfever! I know what you mean about taking any form of medication whilst pregnant. We get bombarded with lists of things that we can't do and take that I just get confused in the end. I know you've probably heard about it already but have you tried local honey? It's meant to help!

Butterfly...I was the world's greatest Prince fan! Even went to see him this year at the O2 arena. He was amazing. Even did a jamming session after the majority of the audience left!

Libra1975 · 10/06/2008 10:37

tafftaff, I have heard about the local honey theory unfort that is one of the very very very very few foods that I HATE with a passion.

DS - now I am just going to feel guilty when I wake up at 5:3am (one of my pee times) and turn over and go back to sleep

BMQ - if you have mums and babes coming round I am sure they are the ones who would be most understanding if yuo are still in PJs and dressing fown - maybe you could start a new trend

Minkus · 10/06/2008 11:00

Hey everyone

tafftaff- there are some really good threads in the Childbirth section with positive birth stories only- they make inspiring reading! I felt difficult speaking to others about ds's v positive birth in case they'd had a traumatic time and didn't want them to feel I was "boasting", if that makes sense

SK v of your non-swelling ankles! Mine puffed up again yesterday, although they've gone back to normal over night. DH is also calling them trotters, they are just like deformed jacket potatoes with mini sausages stuck on the end! Wonder if you can get stretch marks on your feet...

Good luck Twinkle, hope that those little babies stay put until 36 weeks now.

Libralady- so sorry to hear your dh is having to work away- must be doubly hard when you also have your other little one to be both mum and dad to at this late stage of pregnancy. Make sure you put your feet up whenever you can and mnet without guilt when you're able to! We're all here for you if things get stressy.

Minipink and Mcchesers, hope you are feeling better soon. Here's a virtual hot toddy for you

Well I have ordered my Tens machine at last, picking it up next Wednesday. Collecting the bed side crib from my friends mum tomorrow, then just need to get a mattress for it and I think I'm done. Got the baby monitor out yesterday and checked it over so that's another thing ticked ff my list! I am def a list lover, how is everyone else doing with theirs? Only problem I have at the moment is remembering where I put the blasted thing as mumnesia has definitely taken hold. In the supermarket yesterday I forgot to get at least 8 of the things I needed and they were even written on the list ffs!

Lots and lots of bh's ooooh they hurt now.

Have a good day all! xx

Minkus · 10/06/2008 11:06

bugger it, here

Libra1975 · 10/06/2008 13:14

Minkus I think that's a great thread.

disneystar · 10/06/2008 13:17

well just been to see mw im 34 wks now measuring 38
she presumes baby going to be another big one
not suprising to me tho but growth scan next week will reveal if she knows or guessing

i knew he had had a growth spurt cos of my diabetes they always do
usually between 9 and 10lb by 37 wks

also they will induce me at 36/37 but section is at 38
what happens if i refuse to be induced early then labour happens before my elective section
guess im buggered really then
such a dilemma

Libra1975 · 10/06/2008 13:22

oh wow so you may be the next one.

Can I ask why you don't want to be induced?

pigleychez · 10/06/2008 13:29

oohhh disney... not long for you then.

Looks like we might have a couple more in the next few weeks

Ive been tyring for ags to get through to the hospital to book a tour around the maternity unit but its always busy.

sweetkitty · 10/06/2008 13:36

Oh I'm bored

Had everyone at toddlers come up to me today "how are you feeling?" "how long you got?" etc after the 6th time it gets so boring. I say "oh fine" translated means I'm burping acid in my throat, I can't bend down, I'm peeing every 5 minutes, my pelvis feels like it's going to crack and break, every move I make hurts, I'm constantly shattered, oh and I have two toddlers to look after but apart from that fine.

But you don't want to say that do you?

Have done the hoovering (well kind of done it, DD2 broke Dyson last week by ramming toy bunny up it, first thing I knew was the noise and smoke ) so am using hand held car vax thing (completely useless), the kitchen floor and surfaces and hung a washing out, do you think I am justified in doing nothing else today?

sweetkitty · 10/06/2008 13:37

wow think I may start a new thread in a minute

sweetkitty · 10/06/2008 13:39

New thread here

new thread

purplejennyrose · 10/06/2008 13:40

hey all
Thinking of you TJuice and your new little girl - and Peanut - really hope things going Ok.
Have just about managed to pack and ready to go away tomorrow - can't wait to be by the sea!!
Went to see midwife this am at mat unit - she did quick scan and b*gger it the baby is breech! We'd been umming and ahhing the last few weeks about whether it's a head or a bum up under my ribs - it's a head. Not a big baby though apparently. Sooo... am now back to my bizarre two extremes of home waterbirth if she turns, prob elec c-section if not! Am going to have ECV to try and turn her when I get back from hol (I'll be 37 weeks then) - anyone any experience of this?
Midwife said she was confident she'd turn, but does mean I can't put my feet up anymore-luckily pelvis seems to have stabilised and I can sit in different positions.
Going to try hands and knees with bum in the air now....
PS Libra1975 - my colleagues gave me a SkipHop bag and it is really lovely - stripy, has special starps to attach to pushchair handles, really well designed. It is the Duo deluxe though which is huge - I need it for two, but for one it would be massive I think!
