Just thought I would start a new thread! x

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
bebejones · 02/06/2008 14:50

That's so weird coz when I posted that earlier it came in right after SK's last post!!!

Still waiting for MW!! Doctors surgery rang to check that everything was ok and said they would chase her for me! Think everything is ok just wish my bum would stop hurting!!!

bebejones · 02/06/2008 15:42

MW rang...apparently it's 'perfectly normal'....still bloody hurts though! Am I going to be like this for the next 8 weeks?!?!

gillythekid · 02/06/2008 16:25

Squarah you brought back old memories of Kefalonia! What a beautiful island, think we'll be going back there with baba in years to come.
Just booked a beautiful boutique hotel for the night before we venture over to the Isle of Wight, normally £135 a night but found it on Laterooms for £89..RESULT!!! Hope the weather picks up.
SPD nightmares all round eh? Hope everyone's feeling ok today and taking it as easy as they can.

sweetkitty · 02/06/2008 16:50

I am definitely with everyone feeling very heavy downstairs, shooting pains as well, oh and the OMG I need to pee RIGHT NOW! feeling. Remember it all from last time, completely normal I'm afraid.

Feeling very glum now got an electricity bill in and they want me to pay and extra £95 a month oh well there goes my P&T just waiting for the gas one now..........

mummywannabee - do you think your Mum would come and clean my carpets

Jodie - I've started my RLT tablets from 33 weeks both other times, think it was recommended somewhere.

bebejones - sorry you are feeling so rough I think unfortunately it will be like this for the home stretch but I've found some days are OK some not it varies. Try and get as much rest as you can.

pigleychez · 02/06/2008 17:46

Sweetkitty- completely agree about each day being different.
Somedays i feel fine and bump doesnt bother me and others i feel like a beached whale and feel crappy.

The past week ive started to have a few bad days..Felt really tired, light headed and achy... Not sure if this is just joys of late pregnancy or my anemia kicking in and the high blood pressure.

Jodie- Tiffany weighed 7.4lbs when born.

mcchesers · 02/06/2008 17:47

SK- what is going on with your electricity bill? That's insane.

I had a really nice evening last night. One of the girls from the choir threw me a baby shower. It was really nice. She has a beautiful flat and a wee fox family out back that we all oohed and ahhed over. So it was cakes, and games, and pressies. I did very well and ended up with a baby bath, lots of little shoes, heaps of baby gros, bottles, and muslin squares that I'm sure will all go to good use. Most of all of this will go over to MIL's house, but I think I'm going to try and keep the clothes here to wash.

purplejennyrose · 02/06/2008 20:00

Peanut - Charlie is beautiful!!xx

mummypig · 02/06/2008 20:01

hi everyone

charlie and tiffany look gorgeous. I'm not really into little babies (I prefer them when they are a bit older and more interactive ) but the photos are making me feel quite excited about our next little one coming along.

peanut I know what it's like having your babe in special care - that's what happened with my ds1 - and it really does feel like each day brings something different. Anyway fingers crossed for you all and hope that it will be all fine when you are all back at home.

sweetkitty 2 1/2 hrs go so quickly!

squarah feeling jealous of your holiday

bebejones I am really hoping this one doesn't move down until I am in labour. Walking around is bad enough at the moment without a baby's head in there too.

having a massage on Wednesday when the boys are back at school

and forgot to say congrats to TJuice and your photo looks great from the wedding day

libralady · 02/06/2008 20:02

Peanut - little Charlie is fab. Hope he is home with you very very soon.

Squarah - Glad you had a fab holiday. Our holidya in itself was great (apart from DS getting chickenpox) it was the fact that I had to stay on my own with a 4 yo at 7.5 months pregnant with the fuel strike, atc strike and mess up with the day of flight home that brought me down. DH & I laugh about it now, and keep saying if we'd gone for a fortnight, none of the stress re staying without DH would have happened.

Mrs Tjuice - many many congratulations, sounds like you had a fabulous day. Your dress is beautiful and the sandals looked great. Hope you are as happy as DH and I are even after 11 years.

SK - do you live in a mansion or something? £95 per month? That seems excessive even with the fuel price increases.
Have you gone onto Uswitch to see if someone can do a better deal for you?

To anyone else I've missed - sorry. With pregnancy brain I have trouble remembering more than a few posts at a time.

Saw MW today (35+6) and all is fine. Baby has turned but is back to back. Now just need to get on hands and knees to try and get little one to turn. BP fine, and I've made it known I want this LO out as soon as I've finished work. She gave me a few hints and tips but has advised to avoid the castor oil. A packet of fig biscuits is much better.

Contractions (false labour) has been better over the weekend although did have a couple of very strong BH at work today. Think the people I work with were surprised to see me in thinking I was going to have LO at some point over the weekend after the dramas of last week.

RUMPEL · 02/06/2008 20:03

Evening All,

TJUICE - you are sooo pretty and you looked beautiful on your big day. I thought you had a green dress though?

PIGLEY - little Tiffany is gorgeous - it will be lovely to have them so cloe together - hopefully they will be good pals.

PEANUT - wee Charlie is gorgeous too. It must be really hard for you both just now and feel somewhat surreal. I know how tiring it is traipsing back and forth to hospital every day worried sick about someone you love so I am sending you some 'strength and energy vibes' Look after yourself and well done on producing such a beautiful wee boy.

DISNEY - I really am at a loss as to how you cope with all life has chucked at you I really hope this wee boy isn't as bad and doesn't need as much surgery as suspected. [hugs]

BEBE - hope you are okay - scary stuff.

TWINKLE - take it easy on hols - keep those legs crossed!

SWEETKITTY - I would investigat that bill - seems abit steep to me. Hydroelectric are good - do a switch search on the internet to find your best provider. I ordered my P+T at the baby show form Glasgow Pram centre - was £360 inc double kit, raincover and delivery. Cannot get through on the phone though

I am suffering today too - BH terrible and bump very sore and tight and bouncing off my bowels/bladder every 2 mins. Put black out blind up in DDs room yesterday but she still woke at 2am Argggg!!!!!Was up and down until 3.30am! I just don't know what to do with her?

MINIPINK - I am 36 on the 24th June - I feel lika an old bag at the mo'. Having kids defo makes you older - all thoses sleepless nights and baggy/bloodshot eyes and wrinkles Just as well a huge cuddle and smile makes up for it!

Must go - night all
xxxx

RUMPEL · 02/06/2008 20:05

PEANUT - I meant to say you are a very good looking couple Charlie will break hearts when he is older

sweetkitty · 02/06/2008 20:24

mcchesers/libralady - lol @ mansion, no we switched back in Sept and they set the direct debit at £50 for both but last bill we owed them £250 so they now want £120 a month will phone tomorrow.

love the baby shower idea mcchesers unfortunately by the time you get to your third everyone thinks you have everything so you get sod all

libralady - I tried everything to get labour going last time nothing worked it's so true what they say they do come when they are ready, tell you one thing though I am not having a sweep this time ouch!

Rumpel - I got my M&P Twin Aria from the Glasgow Pram Centre and two cosytoes which turned out to be for single Arias and never really fitted it hated that pram anyway I hope you get through soon I found them to be really good all in all.

Finally sent DP up the loft for the moses basket, bath seat and changing mat. Have left the swing, bouncy chair and baby gyms up there for now. DDs were straight into the moses basket with their dolls Just polished off a Solero whats next??? My bump seems to be growing every day (must get some pics up) although someone said to me today "you still with us?" meaning have you not had the baby yet? I've got 5 weeks at least to go the scales are creeping up as well.

EEC · 02/06/2008 20:29

I need chocolate NOW! (off to raid the DCs' sweet supplies!)

mummypig · 02/06/2008 21:37

I have really developed a sweet tooth recently and am currently making myself chocolate rice pudding... will let you know tomorrow how it went

ButterflyMcQueen · 02/06/2008 23:06

i have had 2 yes 2 magnums today

sweetkitty · 03/06/2008 07:47

Morning everyone hope you all had comfy sleeps, it's getting more difficult though.

DP and I had a stinking argument last night and he said some scathing things I was really upset and even though he came upstairs and apologised I was still so emotional - hormones perhaps? He's off to London tomorrow morning for work and staying over.

I'm sure this bump has grown in the night too, just have the usual type of day today nursery drop off and pick up then toddlers.

mcchesers · 03/06/2008 08:06

Morning..still having acid reflux alarm clock. It doesn't seem like anything works anymore and IKWYM about them growing overnight.

SK- I hate fighting with my DH before he goes out of town, but then again it was the making up that got me prego in the first place

Pigley - I hate that beached whale feeling. I look at the party photos and think my face looks huge and even my lips and gums seem over inflated. DH just says...well you are pregnant.

I do kind of get a kick out of frightening people on public transport or shops by taking deep breaths or holding my back. Sadly I have to do that anyway. I've got my aquanatal class today that always helps to take the weight off for a little while.

Minkus · 03/06/2008 08:14

Hello everyone

Been really busy over the last few days so not managed to get on here much. Hope all is well- managed to congratulate Peanut but not TJuice or Pigley- well done Mrs Married and congrats to Pigley on being an Aunt! Both things I heartily recommend

Kitty- poor you with the argument. Know how upsetting it is even if normally it wouldn't get to you. Think that you are spot on saying something to do with hormones makes things worse. Hang in there, hope he buys you some nice flowers on his return from London.

Had a small nesting blitz yesterday, sorted all the newborn stuff from 0-3 and cleaned down the moses basket, ironed all the freshly washed covers now just need to buy another mattress for it so off for a surf. Also sorted through my labour bag and realised that there are quite a few things I thought I'd put in there but it turns out that was just mumnesia, and therefore I need a) more space and hence b) a small bag separately for the babys things (which looked so cute in a little ironed pile on my bed!) so another reason to shop for that. I have a vast bag collection but nothing suitable for a babys' "suitcase"!

Have a good day all xxx

pigleychez · 03/06/2008 09:11

Morning all.

With you all on the restless nights.
I hate waking up in the middle of the night for no reason. I dread looking at the clock as i know its some silly hour! Sometimes takes ages to get back to sleep and its very frustrating.
Suppose i best get used to it!

SK- Sorry to hear about your arguement. The old hormones have a lot to answer for. Ive been so emotional lately, Had tears over everything.. Im so fat, Im tired, Even cried over my knitting last night

Weather looks pretty grim here today so nothing really planned. When is the sun coming back!?

isaidno · 03/06/2008 09:15

Anyone getting terrible pins and needles in their hands? I think it is carpal tunnel syndrome, but it is especially bad at night. I was in agony last night.
Got mw this morning so will have to ask her. Also got scan and consultant again this afternoon.

SK - I'm sure the hormones made the argument worse. I know I am sharp / oversensitive / moody / miserable / grumpy (delete as applicable) alot of the time. That's not to say my DH isn't unthinking / insensitive / lazy / annoying of course!

gillythekid · 03/06/2008 09:29

Woke up in the night and the right hip went 'clunk' so am abstaining from yoga today, been cancelled for the last 2 weeks so was really looking forward to it. Off to see SATC with a load of Essex girls tonight, a treat from my SIL, getting right tarted up too so should get rid of the 'frumps' for a few hours.
We're all getting tired and emotional now eh? I'll be lolloping through the last few weeks hoping the SPD doesn't get any worse and the perineal massage gets better! Let's stay positive, those beautiful babas are on their way now.

Libra1975 · 03/06/2008 09:30

SK - I agree with isaidno, everything seems much worse at the moment and it takes much longer to shake bad feelings off. I know this sounds bizarre but if you try and feel better (i.e. take a big breath, force a smile on your face and give your DH a big hug before he goes to London) it might make you actually feel better.

Was thinking this morning about things I am looking forward to post pregnancy.

  1. Able to get out of bed without wincing (or needing a winch!)
  2. Skin-to-skin contact with my baby. I've never held a naked baby before

how about you guys?

bebejones · 03/06/2008 09:53

Morning all...still feel rubbish and technically still have a week and a bit left at work, but am pulling another 'sicky'...although I have actually been throwing up all morning!! LO has moved down really low and I now have a big gap between my boobs and top of bump...very odd sensation, like walking around with a melon between your legs....is this 'normal' at 31 weeks?

Libra - am with you completely on getting out of bed without wincing. And as for holding a naked baby, until a week ago the smallest baby I had held was 6 months!!

I am looking forward to:

  1. Waking up and not reaching for a bucket!
  2. Not needing a crane to roll over at night, and being able to sleep on my front & back again!
  3. Watching DH be a gooey mess, because trust me...he will be!
  4. Holding my baby for the first time and knowing that 'I made that'!!
  5. Being able to eat soft cheese again...I would do anything for a Brie and grape toastie right now!!!
Heffagooday · 03/06/2008 10:10

Isaidno - my hands seem to get quite numb, and often I get pins and needles in them. I woke up last night with a really bad pain in one of them which I couldn't get rid of but has gone this morning. I assumed it was just a random pregnancy symptom?

Has anyone else been taking iron tablets and have you suffered from any of the side effects?

SK - sorry to hear about the argument. Hormones definitely make everything worse.

Post-pregnancy I'm looking forward to lying down without it hurting and being able to get up again without having to roll. And baby of course

ButterflyMcQueen · 03/06/2008 10:15
