poppy34 · 04/05/2008 10:24

poppy34 · 04/05/2008 10:25

bitofadramaqueen · 04/05/2008 10:26

OP posts:
sophiewd · 04/05/2008 10:26

Oh Poppy another Archers fan

tassisssss · 04/05/2008 10:29

i don't think i managed to post at all on the last thread...you girls talk so fast!

i'm getting fed up here. have a urine infection, feel flu-ey, tonnes of BH contractions, 2 sick children, sore hips/pelvis/back etc...and dh is working this morning 8am-1pm.

think baby may still be breech. saw midwife on friday and she wouldn't say which was a bit annoying. oh well.

how's everyone else today?

anyone else not packed a bag or written a birth plan yet? i did pick up my TENs machine on Friday so that's a start...

poppy34 · 04/05/2008 10:38

hi sophiewd - yes completely. After years of being lapsed discovered the podcast but luxuriating on sofa listening. Is willyem stone mad?

Tassis - sorry to hear you aren't feeling so good - am in same position as you as have a tens machine and have thought abotu birth plan and bag. Does that count ?

PearTart · 04/05/2008 10:39

Nice shiny new thread!

Hi Tassissss! Also feeling rubbish- have a big cold, can't speak or swallow and DH off to work later. DD full of beans and wanting entertainment. How old are your DCs and how are you treating UTI- lots of water/ cranberry juice?

There was lots of bag-packing info on last thread- I've started, and ordered TENS. Also a thread on hosp bag essentials in preg or childbirth topic areas. IYSWIM.

tassisssss · 04/05/2008 10:39

just grumpy, tired and moany really!

i've not even thought about bag packing...did wash the car seat cover only to discover the polystyrene has broken and I'll probably need another. Aaaargh!

aberdeenhiker · 04/05/2008 10:41

tassisssss · 04/05/2008 10:42

Hi PearTart, dc are just 5 (and very good despite have been sick this morning) and 19 month (very full on despite this being day 6 of her unwell).

treating UTI with lots of drinking but will probably start a/bs next week...lots of problems "irritable uterus", UTIs and contractions in the 3rd trimester with ds

aberdeenhiker · 04/05/2008 10:44

I ordered my tens machine yesterday - I'm loathe to get everything done early though as then I think I'll start feeling impatient for this LO to arrive. I keep reminding myself that it would be really good if it didn't show up until after 1st June when my MIL arrives (to take care of DS).

aberdeenhiker · 04/05/2008 10:46

oh - and mentioned to DH that I might need some help in the trimming the ladygarden and he wasn't too excited by the thought. Might have to manage with a mirror somehow...

bitofadramaqueen · 04/05/2008 10:46

I keep having a feeling that my LO will arrive early - but I suspect its just wishful thinkin . (Though not too early obviously - only 33 weeks at the mo!).

I got some hospital bag bargains at sainsbury's yesterday. 25% off all their clothing so great for lounge wear/pj's/dressing gown for hospital.

Right, off to get dressed and get the revision going for the day. Will no doubt check in later!

PearTart · 04/05/2008 10:49

Great idea Aberdeenhiker re threads.

OMG, just come over all excited seeing the list of babes to be... need to catch breath.

Tassissss- sounds like a really crap day! So difficult when you can't explain to your little people that actually mummy feels sick too and would like a day off! Hope the UTI clears up soon.

debinaustria · 04/05/2008 10:53

Thanks for the new thread Dramaqueen

Sorry you're not feeling well Tassiss and Peartart - the only thing which slightly helped me the other week was hot honey and lemon!

Poppy/Sophie - is it easy to catch up with the happenings on Archers, I've never listened to it, but as part of my job is ironing I thought I might download it and listen whilst I'm ironing. I don't see any soaps on TV now so it would be a good replacement!!

Aberdeen - definitely agree to stay on here until the last baby of the group is born.

I have a half packed bag, my boys are intrigued about the contents - they think Nursing bras are a very good idea and they thought disposable pants(someone sent me a box I wasn't going to buy them) were very funny!!

Dh has just taken boys off to tennis - hurrah - an hour to myself, hoping they have a great time and it becomes a regular Sunday morning thingSo I am cooking sunday lunch and it smells so good, lamb is my favourite and here it it ridiculously expensive, and not sold everywhere so a friend has bought a lamb from a local farmer and given us a leg - I can't wait!!!

PearTart · 04/05/2008 10:53

Bitofadramaqueen- What are you studying?

debinaustria · 04/05/2008 10:54

Aberdeen - this baby can arrive after 28th May when Mil arrives and must be here by 18th June when she leaves!!

poppy34 · 04/05/2008 10:56

deb - podcasts are really good - and uploaded pretty much every day - certainly would help on the ironing and its not very hard to follow (ten years of not listening and I was right back in after about 20 minutes).
feeling now like I should do a bit more about the hospital bag than think -may investigate those threads.

sophiewd · 04/05/2008 11:01

Easy to catch up on and always happy to help with questions, I use listen again on BBC website

aberdeenhiker · 04/05/2008 11:07

deb- My MIL leaves on the 22nd and I'll have been induced before that - but if I am late I'm not sure what MIL & I will do during the day together (DS will still be in nursery part time- but I guess we'd pull him out) as although we get along okay, we have never spent that much time together before!

debinaustria · 04/05/2008 12:23

How helpful is she Aberdeeen? Can you get her roped into making up food for you to freeze, keeping on top of the ironing, cleaning etc,,, or will she need taking out and entertaining? I hope that baby makes an appearance when she's been with you a couple of days and sees all your normal daily routines, so that it all runs smoothly in your absence.
My mil is very good in that she will cook, clean, iron etc... but I need to write instructions for the washing machine, tumble drier, fuse box etc... because otherwise she'll panic if things don't go quite right. We also have guests in the large apartment whilst she's here and baby's expected so that's something else for her to worry about.

Upsidedowncake · 04/05/2008 12:24

Morning everyone

Welcome, Gemma, sorry you didn't sleep very well, and that you are having a hard time at the moment.

Debs, enjoy your lamb!

I love podcasts - though don't listen to the Archers. DH keeps up with American culture by downloading stuff from National PUblic Radio (their equivalent of Radio 4) and listening to it on the tube.

The recording of my hypnotherapy session arrived yesterday and I listened to it last night. very relaxing. Will ask DH to put it on my phone so I can listen to it.

We're just racing round the house getting ready for our impromptu BBQ. DS has decided that as it's summer , he will be spending the day in his swimming costume. Sadly we all three have a cough so we can't take him swimming properly!

Have a lovely day, everyone.

debinaustria · 04/05/2008 12:46

Enjoy your barbecue Upside down, lol at your ds, when I first read it I thought you said your dh was in his swimming trunks!!!

Any developments Neenz?

systemsaddict · 04/05/2008 13:09

Hi guys and hi new thread!! just a quick check-in to get this on my threads, ds is napping and i am going to as well, very very tired today. Some drama Friday night when I had Braxton Hicks so strong had to lean over the sofa for an hour, couldn't eat or move ... dp kept saying 'you can't do this now, the house is a tip and we can't have anyone round for ds'!! Fortunately they eased off, but I did pack much of my hospital bag Sat morning! Just really tired now. I assumed this baby would come late as ds did but not so sure now. Officially 36 weeks today but the only dates I have are from the scan so that could be up to a week out either way ... but I have 2 more weeks at work, with next week a particularly important one, so she has to hang on another 6 days at least!

welcome Gem and welcome back tassisss

Rolf · 04/05/2008 13:37

Welcome Gem .

Sorry you're having a bad day, Tassiss. My DS2 is ill - he's got a horrible vomitting bug and is feeling wretched, poor little thing. DD woke up with a temperature but is feeling better now. It's raining and DH has got wet-bank-holiday cabin fever and grouchiness!

For the first time, over the part few days I've had that feeling of my body just having had enough. Too tired, too waddly, too uncomfortable. I hope it passes (eternal optimist!) as I've felt great most of the time.
