hi missjackson congratulations

MrsAay · 14/05/2008 22:40

May I join in too?! Just got my BFP and think I'm due, like oops, around the 20th.

This is my second, and my DS was 2yrs a couple of weeks ago, indeed I may have conceived on his b'day - what a present for him!

Here's to the next eight months!!

Triggles · 14/05/2008 23:17

MissJ and MrsA welcome and congrats!

amytheearwaxbanisher · 14/05/2008 23:22

how are everyones symptoms going?ive had no sickness[was never sick with ds]but im so tired!

Triggles · 15/05/2008 07:18

A little nausea, sore bbs, tired. That all comes and goes.

tinkisexcited · 15/05/2008 08:25

morning ladies
congrats

missjackson · 15/05/2008 08:28

Bbs are amazingly sore but look incredible! I was getting quite a lot of mild cramping, like a dull ache, on one side, which I was worried about because that's one of the signs of ectopic pregnancy.

BUT weirdly enough I had gone for an ovarian scan ten days ago to find out if my ovaries were polycystic they were and there was a black blob in the middle of my uterus which the doc said was probably my period about to begin! I asked if there was no way I could be pregnant then, and she said 'oh yes, that could be a pregnancy but I doubt it with your ovaries'! So I must have one of the earliest scans ever -- possibly just a week or two days after conception.

nooschmoo · 15/05/2008 08:46

Morning! congrats to all the new ladies! I'm glad to hear i'm not the only one with a mummy tummy - although i haven't lost weight from DD, and i think people will just assume that it's still all baby weight from her when i start to pile it on again. Lovely!

No real sickness yet, i'm dreading having it as it'll add a new dimension to changing nappies...very sore bbs though, and very emotional....i nearly cried at the apprentice - what was SAS thinking not sacking Micheal?!

Hope you all feel ok today! xx

OoopsWeDidItAgain · 15/05/2008 10:08

No sickness for me either yet - escaped it last time so high hopes for this one!
Ridiculously emotional and irritable.......poor DD doesn't know if she's coming or going. About to go out and tackle the tesco shop - might not be the best idea given current mood but hey, ramming someone with a trolley might make me feel heaps better!

scared1976 · 15/05/2008 10:26

hi everyone how are we all feeling? i fell asleep on sofa last night at 7 and slept til morning!

have a six week scan tomorrow. this is my first and i am very very nervous. not sure there is anything that can be done about this. Starting to think the first trimester is even more tense than the 2ww!

Triggles · 15/05/2008 10:45

scared good luck with the scan tomorrow! We went back and forth on whether or not to request one, as we have had a couple prior losses. Midwife had said last time that we could request an eary scan if we got pregnant again, but we've decided not to do it. Yes, it might alleviate some nerves, but honestly, then we'd just worry about something else, wouldn't we? We're just going to hope everything is alright and wait until the NT scan. I'll admit, sometimes, the temptation is really strong to get the early scan, but I'm trying to be good.

scared1976 · 15/05/2008 10:46

I figured there was probably no harm in it...if just to make suer everything is in the right place. I see your point though

Teuch · 15/05/2008 10:51

I'm in same position as to whether to request early scan or not...

When I feel as rough as I do now, I think 'no need!', but then in the dead of night my mind thinks I have imagined it all

Congrats to the new additions

Enjoy your scan today, Scared

MsSparkle · 15/05/2008 11:18

Congrats missjackson and mrsAay

Saw doctor this morning, she thinks i will be due around the 2nd January but the midwife will probably say otherwise. Feel sick still, doctor said ginger might help so i'll try that. I see the midwife in two weeks.

I have read that feeling rough is a good thing. I feel a bit tired, but I normally do so wasnt sure I could read anything into that!

chefswife · 15/05/2008 11:54

Good day everyone? today I?m off to check out maternity wear? or just dresses that I can wear for now to hide the ?70?s jelly mould jiggle belly I have. Enjoy your day. so much cooler? love it.

HeathersMummy · 15/05/2008 15:04

Afternoon ladies and congratulations to those who have just joined us .
I'm off to Barcelona tomorrow for a long weekend with 3 friends - looks like my secret will be out . We haven't told anyone that DD2 is on it's way yet, so the girls will be sworn to secrecy this weekend. Trying to hold off until the 12 week mark before telling everyone our news.

MrsAay · 15/05/2008 15:28

Thanks for the messages.

Tried to book a GP appt today, but failed. Apparently I was too late to get one for today because I phoned at 8.20am and not 8.00am and there are no available pre-booked spaces available for the whole of next week. And they only take bookings a week in advance. So I have to keep pressing re-dial at 8.00am each day until I eventually get lucky!

Please tell me that it's the NHS that's mad and not me!

tinkisexcited · 15/05/2008 16:17

startiing to think that i should go with my lmp which would make me 8 weeks sat - my tummy looks huge and has done for a little while. my last cycle was 55 days perhaps not a proper period.
which date should i go with

Evening everyone,

Nothing to report here but thought I'd post to welcome Mel2005 MissJackson and MrsAay - have added you all to the list since I thought I'd add my DD onto my info.

Tink I think the best person to answer your question about dates would be your midwife. In my area they always go by LMP and then change your dates at the 12 week dating scan if you are more than 7 days out. If they do dating scans in your area it might be the same but if they don't then might be worth explaining that you tracked ov so can give a more accurate date from that. I have a feeling that if you are unsure of dates they tend to scan to check anyhow, but only a feeling, not really sure.
