Actually the only time anyone has ever asked me that was on my hen party by a colleague, and when I looked horrified and said I most certainly wasn't she patted my 'bump' and said it was just because I was usually so skinny. Bloody cheek - imagine saying that to someone a week before their wedding! And I had a 26 inch flat stomach so there is no way I looked pg at the time. Luckily I rose above it and it didn't bother me at all (can you tell?)

I would be really miffed if anyone asked me now, as I am incapable of lying and would have to tell them the truth which I don't want to do.

Good grief fourlittlefeet. They are probably trained to ask how you are feeling about it which sort of makes sense, but the other questions are a bit much! .

I also had a student doctor (I think) who said he had never seen a pregnant person and I had to tell him what to do - looks like it could have been worse!

i have started a new thread ladies in pregnancy. babies due jan 2009

Upwind · 09/06/2008 08:17

I normally can never lie, but actually have about this pregnancy. Because the only person who asked me outright if I was pregnant is the last person I would want to be the first to know! And I felt so cross at her rudeness and being forced to deny something I am bursting to tell the world! Next time I will steal the idea to respond with "are you saying I am looking fat?"

"Was it planned" is even more rude. I'd like to think of a smart arse answer to that but in reality I'll probably um and aw about it never being a good time.

fourlittlefeet · 09/06/2008 09:36

ooh, lovely, yet another thing to worry about!

Hi ladies, I am due 4th January. The nasuea seems to have passed and now I am just so tired all of the time and have hayfever just to add to it. I noticed there are a few others with due dates on the 4th Jan!

fourlittlefeet · 09/06/2008 14:13

Hi Periwink, welcome! Click on the link in my last post to find us on the new thread. See you over there!

Hello, what a wonder to discover mums net, and a thread due in jan.

I'm due with my first jan 20th.

Rather silly to think i'd get away without sickness. Miserable morning noon and night sickness, but 2 10 hour flights in a month didn't help!

Ginni · 06/07/2008 22:40

Hi everyone, i'm due on 2nd Jan according to the Sonographer. It's my first, unplanned as I was on the pill, and he/she will be mixed caucasian/Jamaican, and it's looking like i'm going to be a single mum as daddy isn't reacting well to the pregnancy so far. Anyone in a similar boat?

My morning sickness, luckily, passed a couple of weeks ago, now I feel fine. I haven't seen the midwife yet, due on 15th July, and it's be a relief to finally talk to a professional about this!

blot4 · 16/07/2008 13:52

Hello. I'm having my second dc on 3 Jan (will prob turn up in late Dec in fact). Very pleased but think I may not cope well with 2 under 18mo!

Congrats everyone else who's expecting in Jan!

Do you every wonder if your dc will ever forgive you for the birthday close to Christmas thing? I'm wondering if we may have to celebrate half birthdays!
