whatironing · 13/05/2008 10:55

How are you feeling so far witchandchips? I'm knackered and feel quite queasy, I seem to be a lot more tired this time round (probably because DS1 is relentless)

witchandchips · 13/05/2008 10:56

Hello everyone

Is anyone else not feeling excited? In fact, more than not feeling excited, feeling positivly down in the dumps?

tinkisexcited · 13/05/2008 11:25

hi nj i am feeling excited trying not to feel down your hormones will be all over the place i am really emotional.
it is quite normal to panick in early days i will feel much better after i have had booking in appmnt and early scan
with dd1 i was panacking right up till 20 week scan

MissHairspray · 13/05/2008 11:38

I was realy excited at first, and now the reality is starting to sink in i'm getting a bit worried. Don't get me wrong, I still really want this baby, but we want to move to be closer to our families which means us buying a house and DH finding another job all in the next few months, and then work-wise i've probably scuppered chances of a promotion that could be on the horizon. I know it will all be worth it in the end though, just need to try not to fret too much.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/05/2008 11:46

MissHairspray, I was the same, the day I got the BFP's I was walking on air, then it all kind of slipped away to nothing, and left me feeling really down in the dumps, which I am not used to, and no good at!

I had a MC in January, and I think that is having a big bearing on it, but even so, I can't seem to even muster a small smile to myself.

I am not usually so bloody gloomy, it is starting to annoy me now!!

hopenotsickthistime · 13/05/2008 12:22

mssparkle - I totally get your concerns. DD turned one on Friday and I have no clue how she will handle the diversion of our attentions. I think we'll wait until much nearer the time to try to talk to her about it as she's just not going to understand.

nataliejane - I had a MC before DD came along and I think that is definitely keeping me a bit down despite wanting to be pregnant again. Well, wanting to have another baby anyway. I'm not sure I'm a fan of the whole pregnancy thing!

1973magpie · 13/05/2008 12:48

Hi all,

Still not got many symptoms here - even the tiredness and tingly bbs seem to have disappeared today.

This should be good news, but the last two times I have been pg I have had hyper-emesis (sp?) and have been throwing up (a lot) from around 4 weeks, and last time I had SPD from 12 weeks and gestational diabetes from 20 weeks!

I'd like to think that this is just good luck, but I am getting a bit worried about the total lack of symptoms - can pregnancies really be this different?

Hope everyone else is doing ok. At least the weather seems to have cooled down a bit here

witchandchips · 13/05/2008 13:55

just cried at nancy banks smith's synopsis of school for teen mums so guess can tick weepiness as a symptom!

chefswife · 13/05/2008 16:08

Congrats and welcome to all the newcomers.

I popped into my dr?s office today just to get the ?yes, you?re pregnant? confirmation? honestly, I am not experiencing any symptoms and the tiredness passed after 2 weeks so glad to hear that yes indeed I am because it doesn?t feel like it so far from what I?m reading from everyone else? you poor things. Someone from my DH?s work, (ohya, he blabbed the second he got to work after the BFP) and she bought us a newborn set of clothes. Very thoughtful, but, wow? felt really early. DH keeps taking it out of the closet and looking at it. I keep putting it back.

moosemama · 13/05/2008 16:39

Hi all,

Congratulations and welcome to all the people who've joined since I was last on.

Been shopping today for my Niece's baby shower. It was great to be able to have a good old mooch at baby clothes without feeling I was tempting fate. Bought some lovely little outfits and some 'Philosophy' smellies for her. I've just had another look at the little outfits I bought and can't quite believe there's going to be someone that tiny in our house again.

Had to go to yet another hospital appointment with DS2 before shopping. Made sure I ate and drank before we started walking round, but still had several occasions where the room started to spin. DS2 wanted to know "Why is Mummy such a slowcoach today?"

Had a bit of a 'moment' today actually. Here I am about to become a Great Aunt and little do they all know I'm going to be a geriatric Mum (again) as well!

Triggles · 13/05/2008 18:31

moosemama geriatric??

moosemama · 13/05/2008 19:33

OK! OK! Maybe I'm not quite geriatric - but I feel like I am this evening!

(whispers) Am 38 in June

LenniEd · 13/05/2008 20:10

Evening all - DD safely tucked up, also not telling her for some time. She's 17 months, she has a doll who she calls 'baby' and points out babies round the shops so I think she would understand bits, but not enough to realise the baby would be part of her life. Think we'll wait until the 2nd scan and then try to explain.

Also no symptoms here, except a tugging feeling in pelvis - not painful really but sets me off worrying if everything is ok. Didn't have this until mush later with DD but then my stomach muscles and pelvic floor hadn't been shot to pieces then had they Hoping that's all it is but a thread of doubt beginning to emerge. Fingers crossed.

38 is not even close to geriatric moosemama! I know people who are starting their families later than that!

LenniEd · 13/05/2008 20:13

much even!

And NJ - apprehensiveness is perfectly normal - its hardly a minor event having another child, and when you already know what you are letting yourself in for it is perfectly logical to worry more about it all. Plus there is so much uncertainty still at this stage and the hormones don't help either...

Triggles · 13/05/2008 21:13

moosemama I'm 42 so I guess that puts me squarely in geriatric!

moosemama · 13/05/2008 21:19

triggles nah! You're only as old as you feel - that makes me at least 100! .

Think it's the combination of this awful tiredness and becoming a Great Aunt that has contributed to my feeling past my sell by date.

Triggles · 13/05/2008 21:30

well, then, I'm floating between 20 and 40, depending on whether or not the nausea is hitting at any particular moment.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 14/05/2008 07:55

Good morning all

Another beautiful day here, have decided I have to drag myself out of this mood, going OK so far, but then I've only been up for 2 and a half hours!

LOL at geriatric talk, I think most people feel older than they are in pregnancy, I will be 25 next month but I feel at least double that! If it goes anything like last time though, after the birth, I felt absolutely great, the best I have ever felt I think!

Anyone want a custard doughnut? can't get enough bloody custard in any form at the moment.

tinkisexcited · 14/05/2008 08:15

morning ladies
