elkiedee · 02/06/2008 09:59

Yes, I found it varied quite a lot in 1st time round.

fourlittlefeet · 02/06/2008 10:01

welcome cw

good luck moosey

buckles, my sickness comes and goes all the time. for me I think its a factor of how hydrated I am and what I've eaten, so I try to eat small and regular snacks and keep up sipping water.

Salmon was fine in the end (I have a cold so think not being able to smell it helped!)

tryingnottoobsess · 02/06/2008 10:32

Morning all, moosemama hope today goes ok for you, what a horrible scare.

I spent Saturday night being violently sick (sorry if tmi) about every 10-15 mins from 11pm to 5am, couldn't go to bed, just hugged the loo for 6hrs... thought it was a very nasty intro to morning sickness but have felt fine since (except tired obviously!)

Now, obviously because I'm paranoid, I think I might have had food poisoning, which will obviously have killed my baby etc etc...

Will one of the more experienced ladies please reassure me? I'm suddenly wishing I felt nauseous, which is just perverse

largeginandtonic · 02/06/2008 10:36

Moose my lovely what a fecking nightmare! I am a bit at your mother not calling for help and agree with the other girls that they need a good look with a scan. I am sure it will all be ok but it will reassure you if you can see the little bean jumping.

I too am a bit constipated it is not fun. I am also more sick in the last 24hrs. I am not entirely sure this is fair really and am thinking of lodginga formal complaint with someone

How is everyone else?

largeginandtonic · 02/06/2008 10:39

Trying all will be wll and i have friends who are sick for 24hrs and then fine when pregnant! It comes and goes have no fear.

Welcome CW, are you Columbos Wife?

tryingnottoobsess · 02/06/2008 12:11

Thanks LG&T, I think on number 7 you count as one of the more experienced ladies There's nothing I can do about it now anyway, so I'll just get on with getting on!

Poor you with your sickness... ick. And having loads of other kids to sort out whilst you feel rough... lovely!

Hello Columboswife too, looks like we are in a similar situation, 7wks after 2mc, are you going to have an early scan this time?

moosemama · 02/06/2008 12:28

Hi all

Couldn't get through to MW or GP first thing so arranged private scan. The earliest they could squeeze me in was 9.40 am tomorrow.

DH seems to have snapped into action now though and has taken time off to spend with me until after the scan. Good job really as I have spent all morning on the loo having (tmi) alternating diahorrea and vomiting - an experience enhanced by the neighbours builder being up a ladder just outside my toilet window!

Chocsolot · 02/06/2008 12:38

Welcome columboswife, your due the same day as me..... fingers crossed we both make it!

Went for my Ep Scan on saturday and it has a heart beat and everything, its 9mm long (how can somethign so small have such an effect on how we are all feeling - this pregnancy thing is mad!) and looks like a grain of rice but it has a heart beat and it was very exciting. DH (the man of secrecy!) got so excited he asked if we could tell both our parents, which of course i jumped at because I have had to be constantly biting holes in my tongue when speaking to my mum for the last 3 weeks! The stomach cramps are apparently just my body adjusting and I am quite releived because they are less painful at night now which has to be a good thing.

I hope everyone else is feeling OK today.

elkiedee · 02/06/2008 13:01

Ooh, chocs exciting.

moose, hope you feel a bit better soon, and that your dh is taking good care of you.

tinkhasabunintheoven · 02/06/2008 13:24

hi tnto dont worry about bad sickness it is the bodys way of adjusting to being pregnant i was up all night when i was 5 weeks being sick have been fine since.
hi lgandt constipation is horrible isnt it i keep getting it to
mm glad that you have a scan for tom good luck let us know how it goes
hi choc must have been exciting seeing bean plus heartbeat

LenniEd · 02/06/2008 13:56

Fantastic news chocsolot (hope I have spelt that right this time - is a bit of a tongue twister!) - it will be amazing too when you go back in a few weeks and see the enormous difference between your grain of rice now and then iyswim! I would love to see what the baby looks like early one, but I'm sure they all look the same really and have seen enough of those pregnancy book pictures to last me a lifetime.

Sickness - mine also comes and goes. Try to relax and not worry. Easier said eh!

Moosemama- let us know how you get on tomorrow. It will put your mind at rest hopefully.

LG&T I'm also constipated - pain in the ar$e, no pun intended. Feel like my belly has been inflated with a foot pump. What do I need to do to be able to go???!!!

nkweto · 02/06/2008 14:27

Hello,

Can I join..I have just found out I am expecting DC#2 on 25th Jan. I was due in late Jan last time and actually had DS1 on the 14th Feb 2007.. so am hedging my bets a bit and have joined the Feb 2008 thread as well.. it was also a much short thread, I hope you dont mind me joining in the middle!

I am a very long time lurker, having lurked though my first pregnancy, through breast feeding/weaning issues..right to back to work and so promised myself I will join in this time..

ColumbosWife · 02/06/2008 15:01

Chocsolot - your scan sounds so exciting -I'm so pleased for you.

Tryingnottoobsess -yes, I'm due to have an 'early reassurance scan' in a week. I can't wait to hear a heartbeat. At the moment, it still feels like getting through each week of the first trimester without mc is an achievement.
Feeling incredibly sick but trying to remind myself that this is a good sign!

ColumbosWife · 02/06/2008 15:03

PS To large gin and tonic: No! but I wish I was. Columbo always talks about her, but we never get to see her...

tinkhasabunintheoven · 02/06/2008 15:58

welcome nk and congrats

elkiedee · 02/06/2008 15:58

Welcome nkweto, and lol at CW.

LenniEd · 02/06/2008 16:40

Welcome Nkweto and CW (sorry missed you before CW )

Come join us! We don't bite. Well, not yet, give us another 32 weeks and we might

tinkhasabunintheoven · 02/06/2008 17:06

hi all

how is everyone feeling?

i am exhausted, off food feeling abit nauseous and have a huge tummy

7 and a half weeks tomorrow

tryingnottoobsess · 02/06/2008 17:27

Thanks tink that's a good way of looking at it.

chocs so excited at your hb, we're about the same gestation, so I'm imagining my grain of rice now

hi nweto and congratulations on 'unlurking' after all this time

CW ooh, we both have a scan to look forward to next week. Mine is on Tuesday, feels like a lifetime away... like you say each week is an achievement. Feels like after 2 mc it's obvious it'll go wrong. Have to keep reminding myself that pg is normal!

LenniEd · 02/06/2008 17:55

Feel all achey today and not as naseous - am worried. Am sure it is nothing at all. Not bad aching, just achey aching like stretching, but still worrying. Aaarrghhh - I hate this bit! Only another 27 days until the scan. Can't go quick enough.

Shanster · 02/06/2008 18:29

I posted last week that my boobs had deflated...this was very temporary!! Just wanted to share a freaky epiosde. Last night I took my top and bra off, caught myself in the mirror and freaked out when I saw a perfectly clear outline of every vein from my shoulders to below my boobs. I have very pale skin, and my veins are visible normally but this was like looking at an anatomical model or something!! Dark blue angry looking lines, which were raised slightly on my skin! I know this is normal becuase of the increased blood flow, but it looked seriously weird!!!
I'm sure my body will continue to amaze me for the next 7 months

elkiedee · 02/06/2008 19:30

I suddenly started feeling really sick towards the end of this afternoon at work - fortunately the bag of Hula Hoops (yes, I know that sounds weird) helped and I've just eaten tea. I didn't start throwing up until 10 weeks last time and then it wasn't every day but I had sickness/acid/heartburn until the end.

scared1976 · 02/06/2008 20:12

hey ladies, good evening. hope you all had a good day.

bought a fab little book today called "your pregnancy day by day". has loads of cool pics in it, and unlike most of them you get something to read every night!

now into my 8th week im finding myself relaxing, although i cant STOP hearing really sad stories about people having bad experiences which are keeping me anxious. I read somewhere (preggers woman googling! beware!) that once you are past 8 weeks, the probability of something going wrong if youve heard a heartbeat drops to something like 5%. Does anyone know if that is true?

Hugs to all...off to bed soon...soooo tired (I have to be at my desk at 615am!!)

Chocsolot · 02/06/2008 20:26

Thanks everyone

been tucked up in bed today, think i over did it with decorating yesterday plus the whole sickness thing is kicking in, now i have a grain of rice with a heartbeat i don't want to overdo it

sleep well all

MissHairspray · 02/06/2008 20:50

Hi shanster mine are the same. I was quite looking forward to developing a cleavage but they look so horrible there is no way I am wearing anything lowcut until I have built up a decent layer of fake tan. Bring back my 32bs!
I'm 8.5 weeks now and just keep feeling totally wrecked and sick on and off. No actual vomming though which is good - have a fear of yakking on the tube which would be mortifying.
