Hi all hope you don't mind my joining you? Have just found out am pg which was a shock but even worse am feeling bloated, sick and constantly tired, something that didn't happen on the first 2
I am booking in for a nuchal scan in 4 weeks as I am 40 (will not get my routine scan until 20 wks which is policy in Wales)At least the symptoms were not my age as I thought...

icklepeanut · 30/05/2008 19:23

Thanks LenniEd I hope my boobs settle down soon am really stuggling to sleep at mo as can't get comfy, the joys of motherhood

fourlittlefeet · 30/05/2008 20:20

welcome ickle

its funny, last time round I had very sore nipples from 6 weeks and have nothing this time. I'm still breastfeeding dc1 so not sure whether thats helped. Also only had mild nausea occasionally in the afternoon last time round. This time it can happen at anytime, although they say breastfeeding should reduce that too . Apparently sickness is meant to be worse with number two so maybe it is helping and without it I'd be sick as a dog.

just had some yummy grilled wraps with cheese, marmite and tomato. mmmmmm

LenniEd · 30/05/2008 20:32

I also had sore boobs last time but nothing this time. Think I have just got lucky though as not breastfeeding. Am really sick though, much worse than last time. Grilled wraps sound wonderful

fourlittlefeet · 30/05/2008 20:35

thats exactly what I did! just happened to have lucky remnants in breadbin and salad draw.

must be a number two thing then.. wasn't sure if it may be a different flavour of baby this time round thereby changing the symptoms

LenniEd · 30/05/2008 20:38

OK found cheese, tomato and marmite. Do I just huck it all in and then put them under the grill or is there some trick to it??

LenniEd · 30/05/2008 20:38

chuck sorry

fourlittlefeet · 30/05/2008 20:43

ok, i grilled flat first, then took it out, spread on marmite, added tomato slices then cheese (like a pizza). then back under hot grill. when finished slide onto plate and roll up. don't leave them too long as edges go brown. and they are very hot inside!

fourlittlefeet · 30/05/2008 20:43

typed as fast as i could

fourlittlefeet · 30/05/2008 20:48

and you can scoff in the knowledge its doing your baby good: marmite is a great source of b12 and folic acid 4g has:
Folic Acid 100ug (50.0% RDA)
Vitamin B12 0.5ug (60.0% RDA)

yay

LenniEd · 30/05/2008 20:51

thank you so much made my evening. Just in time for Britains got talent too oh dear did I just admit I've been addicted to watching that?? Nothing better than reality tv for drawing in the pregnant women!

TheTickListQueen · 30/05/2008 20:58

Loopsngeorge - I'm in Tennessee, been here for just about 3 years.

Sounds like treatment here varies depending where you are too. Not heard of viability scans round these parts. My OB is keen for me to have a CVS due to age - 36 next week. As that's the only risk factor I'm thinking no. DH and I would both struggle to consider termination.

fourlittlefeet · 30/05/2008 20:59

you are very welcome . need to hurry back to ebay for a bit; couple of things nearly finishing. I'm equally to admit I find the ends of auctions very exciting!

TheTickListQueen · 30/05/2008 21:02

ickle - glad to hear I'm not the only one who thought symptoms were due to age not pregnancy

icklepeanut · 30/05/2008 23:57

back after Britains got talent yep i am adicted too. Then picked son up from prty!! Ticklist sorry for being a bit dumb but what is a CVS?

Shanster · 31/05/2008 00:22

Hey loopsngeorge and theticklistqueen, I'm in Atlanta, Georgia. Been here for about four years since I got married (husband is a yank). Have to say, I have been feeling very homesick since I got pregnant, I'd love to move back home but with the credit crunch here it's unlikely that we could sell the house. So, stuck here for now!

TheTickListQueen · 31/05/2008 02:01

ickle - CVS = chorionic villus sampling. Like the amnio but tests a bit of the placenta.

tinkhasabunintheoven · 31/05/2008 08:17

morning

how many weeks are people?
i am 7 weeks today

Upwind · 31/05/2008 11:12

six weeks tomorrow

stripeywoollenhat · 31/05/2008 11:17

theticklistqueen - i went to a private clinic for my viability scan, i arranged it myself. i think they are only offered as part of your care if you've had a series of difficulties before. i had a missed miscarriage in jan and couldn't bear the idea of still thinking i was going to have a baby weeks after the pregnancy had actually ended again.

due to my antiquity (39 when lo arrives, if we get that far) i am going for fetal screening at twelve weeks, but it will be a blood test and nuchal fold scan rather than anything as full on as an amnio or cvs, maybe you can organise this with your ob? i know what you mean about termination, but i think that getting a clearer view of the risk level will help me to emotionally prepare, if you know what i mean

scared1976 · 31/05/2008 11:20

8 weeks today! huzzah!

have mum coming to visit, but dont think am going to tell her...cant stand the fussing!

Upwind · 31/05/2008 11:23

Anyone know if I can expect symptoms to worsen up until 12 weeks? Not sure how I could cope with work if they do!

HeathersMummy · 31/05/2008 11:24

Morning
I'm 9+1 - woo hoo!!! Where has the time gone!!
