Morning, have a great bank hol everyone..

We are off to friends for the weekend now and will try not to tell... Will try the usual old chestnuts - I'm driving/ hungover/ bit under the weather etc. when the wine is offered, but it's going to be difficult!

This time last year I was making DH drink my alcohol secretly when nobody was looking. He is quite a lightweight so got a bit merry, but was then offended that people thought he was even worse at holding his drink than he used to be!

MissHairspray · 24/05/2008 10:55

Chocsolat - I had lots of stomach cramps at first but i'm 7 weeks now and they seem to have dissapeared so maybe there is some truth in that.

LenniEd · 24/05/2008 11:43

Morning everyone, internet been on the blink since Tuesday and too much to catch up on properly. Pleased to hear you are ok NJ, keep us updated. Welcome to the newcomers and hope everyone has a relaxing weekend.

Sickness also kicked in here. Can only properly eat/drink in the middle of the day, which is a blessing, at least I'm not nauseous all day. Have lost about 1/2 stone though, which I know I shouldn't be pleased about, but still had that to lose after pg with DD, so glad to see the back of it. Belly protruding though...

Have you got a date for a scan tink?

fymandbean · 24/05/2008 13:22

Aghhhh - my body seems to have some sort of pregnant memory - I'm only 5 weeks and boobs have increased from C to DD, tummy is looking distinctly rounded.....

Is it always like this second time around???

Worst of all I'm going to visit someone today who didn't even look pregnant at 20 weeks! She's now 6 months and I'm betting smaller tummy than mine (bloody typical....)

LenniEd · 24/05/2008 14:10

Same here fym, boobs definately bigger and tum looks more like 5 months than 7 weeks. I didn't show until about 16wks last time, so this is a bit of a shock!! Nothing fits right, even though I've lost weight with sickness. And I can't bear anything pressing on my stomach so am wearing trackies whenever I can get away with it! Still haven't told anyone, but not looking like we'll make it to the scan before anyone guesses

elkiedee · 24/05/2008 21:58

I told my mum and sister today. I'm wanting more evidence to myself it's real. I am tired but with a teething 1 year old it's hard to tell what's ds and what's being pg.

NoNickname · 25/05/2008 08:29

Hi all - can I add myself to the list? I got a BFP yesterday, and am due at the end of Jan. I feel a bit of a fraud on here as many of you are several weeks further along and I've only just found out

This will be DC2 (already have ds who is 4). I am 41 and very overweight, so I am a little hesitant at the moment that everything will go ok, but I'm trying to remain positive. I mced 2.5 years ago and it took a good while to think about TTC again, but I'm pleased we've managed it after just 5 cycles.

I've been on here since BFP about a week ago so you aren't earlier than anyone else!

Chocsolot · 25/05/2008 09:56

Thanks Misshairspray, fingers crossed yours stay away and mine go soon then, i was up until 1am this morning in agony so DH had a very tearful pregnant wife to deal with. It seems to help if I use him as a hot water bottle though.

NoNickname · 25/05/2008 10:03

fymandbean - I didn't say I was earlier than anyone else - I said that as I have only just found out I am pg, it makes me feel a bit of a fraud as so many of you are due much earlier than me, and so are experiencing many more pg symptoms than me. I've only found out yesterday and have very few pg symptoms, while many of you on here are three or four weeks furhter along than me, and discussing sore boobs and morning sickness!

lizzih1974 · 25/05/2008 10:52

Hi, can I join you? I've been hovering around this thread for a while waiting to join and now I can!!!

My due date is 26th Jan and this is DC2.
No1 is now 19 months and her birth was quite a drama, hopefully it will be different for DC2.
Feeling really rough this time round and my body has gone "ping" straight to 3 months. Can't believe at 5 weeks I'm buying a mat swimmming costume and digging out the bras !

Have sent DH out to buy ginger biscuits and cake...

Congtrats to all,

Lizzih

hi girls fym same here glad i am not the only one!!!
i am 6 weeks tummy looks rounded and huge and nothing fits and boobs bigger!!!!
have just sortedout my maternity bits from dd1 to take back home from parents house.
congrats to new ladies

LenniEd · 25/05/2008 17:16

Wow! That list is getting long! Congrats to the newcomers.

No improvement on the nausea here - am also starting to feel dizzy and headachy - assuming its since I'm not eating much so have tried to eat a 'normal' lunch and feel a bit better for it, although can't say I enjoyed it at all! Going on holiday in 10 days though, so at least I'll be able to put my feet up and have a few distractions, and will be 11 weeks when we get back so hopefully it will start to ease then.

Hope everyone having a good bank holiday

fymandbean · 25/05/2008 17:52

as predicted the lady who was 7 months pregnant was tiny!

Tink - my mum looked at me today and asked me if it was twins . I'm only 5 weeks.

nonickname not in an earliyness competition! just saying we're all in the same boat !

chefswife · 25/05/2008 18:31

it's great to see the list getting longer... congrats to all the newbies. i finally rang about my appointment and was told that i couldn't come until June16th... will be gone by then. i asked if i could just get my exam, blood work and stuff to travel with, (it's a 9 hour flight) and because i think my hyper-thyroid is acting up. they told my that they won't see anyone till 12 weeks. my doctor said she wouldn't either because it is most likely the effect of the pregnancy. i'm thinking there's the potential for a malpractice suit if something happens. the good part is that i immediately rang my dr in Canada and she will see me the day after i arrive and has already set up an appointment with maternity. so happy. she just gave me some tips on flying and bring lots of fruit.

i have been feeling extremely irritated the last couple of days but i think it's because of all the construction around me. AARRRGGGHHHH!!!!

elkiedee, meant to say earlier - sympathise on the teething/pg tiredness. Same here at the moment, back teeth, and the second to last set through, so hopefully we'll be over all the teething soon. Although if its not one thing its another with DD and sleep!

Chocsolot · 25/05/2008 22:26

Congrats to all the newcomers, hope your all feeling ok still.

Can sympathise with the boob thing, gone up from B to C already and am only 6 weeks, what will all the tireness etc though i think DH reckons its the only good bit so far about this whole pregnancy thing!

tinkiszzzz · 26/05/2008 09:11

morning
wearing my maternity clothes already only 6 and a half weeks tom

mel2005 · 26/05/2008 11:07

i am wearing maternity clothes as well. my normal jeans hurt my small bump and i am worrying about it, so even though the maternity jeans keep falling down i am wearing them with a long top so people cant see it as we havent told yet. i am seven weeks.
i am always worrying about miscarrying and cant wait until the 12 week milestone so i can relax a bit.
i never really liked being pregnant and i am feeling uncomfortable again already, i just keep thinking about the end and our new son or daughter.
i like to be prepared so i have already been buying for the bump, things like sterilisers etc that i have seen really cheap in the sales. with the last two babies i have bought everything and had the nursery ready by 20wks. i am also choosing names with OH before MIL finds out and tries to choose for us.
for those of you that are brave enough, the car boot sales over the summer have loads of nearly new/sometimes new baby gear. my rule is that if it can be dissinfected and/or washed in the washing machine its ok secondhand. its cheaper than e-bay (and no postage to pay) but does often involve a 7.30am visit for the best bargains but some do start at 11am now.
with my first i spent thousands on new baby gear and toys, then i discovered the car boot sale down the road from me and for example you can get a bumbo for £5 ( £30new) a motorised swing for £20 (fisher price aquarium £99 new) all can be washed. then when you have finished with them you can stick it on e-bay and make some money
i cant resist a bargain.

Hello,
I've added my name to list. Due 10 jan ish. Feeling constantly queasy at the moment and have not much of an appetite. Does anyone have any tips for coping with this pukey feeling.
I have a DS who is 20 months.

Morning everyone and welcome Nellybell, congratulations. No tips on the nausea I'm afraid, but would love to hear some, am feeling the same myself. I am sticking to starchy food as that seems to be easier to cope with. Things like toast and plain biscuits.

tinkiszzzz · 26/05/2008 13:03
