Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
tinkstryingtochill · 20/05/2008 08:25

morning ladies
glad i am not the only one that is always cold

we are going to my godmothers 60th on sat so will tell her and my brother as look 4 months

i had a horrible birth with dd1 to cancelled epidural as i started to push, vontuse and 3rd degree stitching
only gas and air 30 hr labour

LenniEd · 20/05/2008 09:14

Tink and Noosch - are you both on no.2 now then? Hopefully we'll all get our ideal birth this time round.

DD was also a difficult one - cord around her neck, so her heartrate kept dropping. She was also OP right up until the pushing stage so the whole labour was constant ineffective contractions with no breaks. I ended up having to have a drip to improve the strength and length of the contractions, and a blissful epidural. Am scared of needles so it was all a bit unpleasant, although still the best day of my life!! A bit far off my natural waterbirth that I was hoping for, but tbh I was glad she was safe however she arrived.

I am out in the sticks which is the main reason I think I would be encouraged not to go for a homebirth. Going to see what the midwife says on Tuesday next week.

chefswife · 20/05/2008 09:44

good morning everyone. it was lovely to see the sun today but already it seems to be disappearing. DH and i have told family in Ontario, friends here in London but are waiting till we get back to Victoria to tell the news to everyone there. there faces will be so shocked. can't wait. we'll tell them right away because they'll be immediately suspicious that i am not drinking, eating smoked salmon or rare steak. mmmm... i think i could almost have steak for breakfast... i'm such a piggy.

fym · 20/05/2008 10:39

Morning all - I still feel really nervous it'll all disappear - I'm 4 weeks today

tinkstryingtochill · 20/05/2008 11:42

hi ladies
yep this is my 2nd le
it is hard not to worry isnt it fym
i am 5 and a half weeks today 6 weeks sat then i will relax abit more plus midwife next wed

loopsngeorge · 20/05/2008 12:32

Hi ladies, can I join you?
I'm due on 19th Jan with my second one and we're so thrilled. We've got a little boy who is almost four so quite a big age gap. In fact if it all works out he'll just have started school when the baby arrives, so will only have the one to cope with for most of the day!!
Feeling unnervingly normal at the moment, not pregnant at all. I'd forgotten about this bit at the start where it all seems so unreal until you can see the baby on a scan.
Anyway, looking forward to sharing the next nine months with you all!

Aniyan · 20/05/2008 14:00

Hi loopsngeorge and congratulations! Must say though, I've got you thrashed in the age-gap stakes - my son will be 9 when his little sibling arrives - and, like you, I'm thankful that I'll have the school day clear to cope with the new arrival.

It feels very unreal to me too - despite all the evidence to the contrary. These early weeks are really crawling by for me - I'm sure I've been nearly-six-weeks pregnant for about a month now!

1973magpie · 20/05/2008 14:36

Afternoon All, and Congratulations to all the newcomers since I last posted!

I am afraid I'm rather a sporadic poster at the best of times, but I have been particularly bad the last few days as I am so overwhelmingly tired all the time.

I do hope this stage passes soon as I'm struggling to stay awake with dd2 (15months) at the moment!!

Still only got sporadic nausea though, which is taking some getting used to - I suppose I shouldn't complain though .

I am hoping for a homebirth again this time - I attempted homebirth with dd1, but ended up transferring to hospital as she was OP, and got stuck (ouch!), but I had a lovely relaxing homebirth with dd2, despite having to fight consultant etc to achieve it because I had gestational diabetes

1973magpie · 20/05/2008 14:39

loopsngeorge I have an almost 8 year age gap between dd1 and dd2, and it's great -you get lots of 'help' from the older one, and it's so much easier to explain about the baby

Forgot to add before I am 7 weeks today (I think) and have got the midwife visiting on Thursday am for my booking visit .

witchandchips · 20/05/2008 14:47

whats supposed to be happening to our norks and nips? Am examining mine every hour to check that pregnancy symptoms are still there!

loopsngeorge · 20/05/2008 14:51

Wow, that's nice and early for a booking in appt! I haven't been to the doctors yet - I wasn't sure when they would expect you to go second time round...I think I might go the week after half term when I'm 7 wks so I don't have to drag DS along. He doesn't know about his sibling yet
It's nice to hear about the larger age gaps. I'm definitely the odd one out amongst my friends, as some of them that I met having DS are already on their third!

largeginandtonic · 20/05/2008 16:15

I have you all thrashed on the age gap, well if you dont count the ones inbetween

I feel dredful, Oodon noodles and soy are my friends. I have run out and need dh to come home quick to replenish supplies.

The tiredness is crippling and the baby (almost a year old) does not seem to understand that mommy needs 2 hours uninterrupted sleep, i mean fgs

Homebirth wanted here too, pretty sure the docs will laugh me out of the consulting room, a girl can hope.

llareggub · 20/05/2008 17:26

Quick post...as I am in Devon and using free wifi from a cafe.

I have brown blood when I wipe. It started (very infrequently) yesterday and there has been a bit more today. I am six weeks this Thursday. I am still exhausted and feeling a bit nauseous.

I guess I just want some reassurance, really. I haven't craps or pains or anything, and only blood when I wipe. Is this something to worry about?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 20/05/2008 17:30

Brown blood is usually fine llare.

Looks like I am going to be bowing out of this thread

I wish you all very healthy pregnancies and babies, and will keep an eye out for the birth announcements.

Good luck everyone!

tinkstryingtochill · 20/05/2008 17:54

my thoughts are with u nat

my last period was 22nd of march
i have been charting on fertilty friend my temp says i ovulated cd36.

due date for baby would be 27th dec going by lmp

or

17th of jan going by when i ovulated

is it possible that i was already pregnant when i ovulated and got pregnant sooner then i thought

fym · 20/05/2008 19:00

tink - u need a dating scan!

1973magpie · 20/05/2008 19:57

Largeginandtonic - I have a feeling that I will get laughed out of the room for a homebirth if I get GD again - I went totally against the consultants recommendations last time but it all worked out fine in the end

llareggub - I had brown blood spotting around 6-7 weeks with dd2, and it was scary, but a scan showed all was well, do you have an EPU near you that you could ring for info?

NJ - Sorry to hear that you are leaving us so soon , take care.

HeathersMummy · 20/05/2008 20:24

I'm a bit like you Tink and will need a dating scan. Had very irregular visits from AF, so had been doing loads of tests until I finally (finally, finally, finally ) got a BFP!!! I think I'm about 7+4. Got an appointment with my GP tomorrow to confirm I'm definitely pregnant (as if the 6 tests I've done myself haven't been enough ) - he'll arrange my booking in appointment with the midwife. I go off on my summer hols in about 3 weeks, so hopefully I'll be able to keep things a secret until I come back - but I am a bit of a blabbermouth , can't you tell??

fourlittlefeet · 20/05/2008 20:36

really sorry to hear that NJ {{{{hugs}}}}}

mel2005 · 20/05/2008 21:38

i am so sorry NJ, best wishes and a big hug

nooschmoo · 20/05/2008 22:15

So sorry NJ, take care.

LOL at booksgalore, I'm in a similar position - my DS was born in early May last year.

6 weeks today, think my date is 13 January but I'm pretty nervous re miscarriages and also my age - about to turn 39 (hence small gap - have just returned to work and only just started trying again, think I got lucky first time).

Hope to have more time to talk to you all later, now need to get it together to leave the house!

tinkstryingtochill · 21/05/2008 08:23

morning ladies seeing midwife in a week

largeginandtonic · 21/05/2008 09:11

Elkidee i had no idea! Congratulations, how bizzare we share the same dates again!

Magpie i have been laughed out of several consultants offices before but stuck to my guns, it is usually ok

I feel bleurgh, am so confused as to my due date. I had blood taken 2 days ago to measure the hcg level to give me an idea. How long till the results come back? I amy phone this morning.

NJ i am thinking of you my lovely, fingers crossed he is hanging in there.

Brown blood usually fine, if you are worried at all get on to your GP for a refferal LL.

Is it too early for Oodon noodles?
