twinklytoes · 15/04/2008 21:17

thought I'd pop in and say hi. back from a far from relaxing week at Spring HArvest at Butlins.

dd1 and I ended up with a bit of food poisioning. myjob - don't eat in burger king at the bridgewater services, can only think that this was the problem.

14wks today and also suffering from horrible headaches. also can't eat a proper meal - doesn't seem / feel like theres enough room for it.

Hi everyone have loads of messages to answer but need a pen and paper to remember who said what and who to reply to...

smudgey I also wake up wide awake in the wee hours - last night was worst - i felt like I needed to get up and run around - so weird - to begin with was worry that kept me awake but now am wondering if minipops is just active at those times? or if hormones are rushing?

wombfor1more my dd twin and gemini yay! My 21 week is day after yours - am looking forward to it - other scans were about whether alive or not - i know i should be worrying about things being wrong but haven't any energy for anymore worry

been quiet here with a bug - can't remember who said they felt sick with pains (smudge?)- but sounds just like wht I've had since last friday - much worse than morning sickness..

twinklytoes · 15/04/2008 21:28

spring harvest is a christian conference / holiday - they take over minehead and skegness for the whole of easter hols. my parents run a puppet company and exhibit - we went along to help out.

perkypopsy · 15/04/2008 21:30

good morning to you all from Singapore, had a crap day yesterday with loads of cramps and stabbing pain (think knife taken up perineum and twisted for good measures sake). Been sick too and splitting headache. Has anyone else had this recently? I'm 14 weeks and a few days. Even today the stabinng pain continues, though not so strong. Really weird, don't know what this is.

KSal, I know how that relief feels. I went to see a doctor about the pain to check on baby and it was all there...and I could listen to the heartbeat...ahhhh, so lovely. Still couldn't see the sex though as baby was being a bit shy. Am exploding with curiosity!!!

Donada: I didn't have blood tests done yet but they said I don't need it as I'm 27
Will wait to have very in depth 4D scan at 19 weeks and then see if I need any more screening re Downs.

Another sick household here. Dd seems to have come down with the sicky bug that dh had at the weekend. Was woken at 5:45 by the sound of her coughing and throwing up all over her bed.

Hello ladies, I introduced myself a few weeks ago, but haven't posted since as I was feeling anxious and ill. However I finally had my scan last week and all was well. So relieved - after a mmc and an ep last year I thought things would never go right. I'm still nervous, but less so than before my scan. My due date is Oct 21st and I'm now 13 weeks. Still feeling a bit sick and having quite a few headaches, but my main problem is that I now feel fat. No proper bump just a flabby middle region (and big boobs). Finding (flattering) clothes to wear each morning is becoming a nightmare.

bethoo · 16/04/2008 11:03

jess i know what you mean! i just look a tad how do we say cuddly!!! i have already been through my drawers and the top two are now allocated to clothes that will stretch around a bump! the worst place that has been hit is my thighs! they have never been so cellulitey in my life, i am so ashamed that no one is allowed to view them! gone are the toned legs to a mass of fat!

caramelbunny · 16/04/2008 12:07

I've gone for the same approach as you beakas and not having triple test, just have to wait and hope!

Sorry to hear about sickness going round, how awful to deal with a sicky bed CSWS.

Welcome and snap due date jess! Glad scan was ok, the weeks leading up to it are so stressful, especially after the previous experiences you've had. I've just got a podgy belly too, such an awkward "has she just eaten too many easter eggs or is she pregnant" stage.

sugr · 16/04/2008 12:35

ChilledBunny CVS is very quick, they literally stab you with a big needle, whip out some placenta and that is it. You get to watch the baby on screen and they then check the heart rate. From what I was told, risk is either due to problems with the procedure, eg difficulties with the placement of the placenta or due to infection (highly unlikely as they do keep swiping with anti bacterial stuff). Where are you getting yours done?

Flum · 16/04/2008 12:51

Soooo had my scan. It was lovely and very reassuring Downs odds at 1:4300 and I'm 35 so that is great. got hundreds of pictures, but only one is really good.

Teensy bit sad wasn't twins as Iknow that is the only way was gonna get 4 kids as just won't be able to persuade DH to roll again. We have already agreed this is it. I'm good with that anyway. Three is a nice odd number.

Hello to everyone.

rosebury · 16/04/2008 13:53

Afternoon everyone this thread if so busy it has taken me ages to read all the messages.

I am also wide awake in the early hours and have started getting up and having a snack and watching tv for a little while it dawned on me that I will not gett another straight eight hours sleep until christmas and thats if im lucky. Maybe our bodies are getting us in training for when the baby is born.

Has anyone else seen shopping tv at 4or5am and seen the fantastic bricky tools it is a kit that makes bricklaying easy, I have never laid a brick in my life but I feel inspired to build a wall stark raving mad I know I suppose i could blame my hormones.

pop back later as Doctors is coming on now.

BabyDubsEverywhere · 16/04/2008 14:20

Hello all, Can I join you?

Im due on the 29th and so excited. Got a 7 month old DS already - must be mad, anybody else with a small age gap? Thankfully he's a dream so hoping I will cope! Got my scan booked on the 22nd, ill be 13 weeks then and really looking forward to seeing this LO. Feeling exhausted all the time and nausia round the clock, didnt go through this with first pregnancy so does this mean LO could be a DD - I know wifes tales but its good fun isn't it!

sparklesandnowinefor9months · 16/04/2008 14:58

Hi everyone

Hope you are all well

I'm in the process of trying to figure out which would be the best double pushchair to get [sigh] any ideas?

also has anyone started thinking about names yet??

sparklesandnowinefor9months · 16/04/2008 15:00

BabyDubs i've got a 16th month gap between DS2 and DS3 its not that bad, you'll be fine!

Congrats!

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/04/2008 15:21

Great news Jess - congratulations .

Flum - I was a bit like you in hoping for twins, as dh wants to stop at 2 whereas I'd like 3.

Welcome BDE. Have to agree that it's all just old wives tales. I haven't been sick in either pregnancy. First was a girl, and don't know about this one yet.

lol at sparkles 'has anyone started thinking about names yet' - we have spreadsheets listing the top 1000 names that we have been through and highlighted all the ones we would consider, as well as our list from last time with some on that we still like. Dh sadly vetoes lots of my choices, but there are still plenty that we both like. Find girls names easier than boys, but think we are still fairly set on the boys' name that we would have given dd if she had been a ds.

OP posts:
BabyDubsEverywhere · 16/04/2008 16:16

Wish we could get a list of names together, i found that the most fun part last time, this time we are drawing a blank! Maybe Baby Dub will do?

Sparkles Ive just logged onto that thread, very intersted in the results, Could i ask if anyone has got away without a double buggy? Keep flitting between going without, using a sling then a buggy board to trying to find the ultimate double buggy to fill with shopping! Inconsistent hormones! Mixed reactions in RL and was wondering how people managed.

sparklesandnowinefor9months · 16/04/2008 16:41

I'm finding boys names hard this time as we already have 3 boys we used all the names we like already

for a girl i still like kitty but we're still thinking!

Pushchairs are a mine field, not sure what to do this time either, when DS2 was born DD was 2.8 yrs and used to walk or go on buggy board but when DS3 was born DS2 was only 16mths so had to used a double

I really don't like double pushchairs and i'm hoping that if i try and get DS3 used to walking more i can get away with a buggy board again, its just seems a waste of money to buy one for such a short period of time

AAARRRGGGGGHHHHHH!

as for babies names i am thinking of Adam Troy if it is a boy though i am convinced it is. have not even started on girls names so will wait for 20 week scan and if girl then in trouble!

Lozza70 · 16/04/2008 20:03

The only thing we have done on the name front is decide which first initals we can have. Our surname initals are AG leading to loads of initals first names could not start with....

B
D
F
G
H
N
S
etc.etc.
