Hi all, thanks for the supporting comments it really is appreciated and a great help at lifting my black mood over today.

On a happier note, I have pinched a good half of your baby names and added them onto my list for when dp gets home, sure he will veto them cuz thats how it seems to be going but its been fun writing them all out with middle names and surnames etc. trouble is it makes me want 10 more to use the names i like!

cantsleep - simelar thing happend here with dp's name. his name is Lee, but his dad registerd his birth and spelled it LEAH thinking it was the same! What a plonker!

Aubergenie · 17/04/2008 21:50

IUAAS - I'm booked for a GTT on Sunday (weirdly). It sounds horrible and I'm not looking forward to it at all. I've got to have it because of my age.

CSWS - Sorry you had such an awful time with it. Bet you can't wait till Thursday, poor thing!

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/04/2008 21:58

Ooh that's a bit of an unfortunate one BDE - Leah is very obviously girly! Mine just has an 'a' in the middle rather than an 'i', so not hard to get away with, although most people don't seem capable of remembering, even when they have my email address (with full name in) right in front of them. Mind you, most people don't even seem to be able to spell dd's name correctly (Philippa), so I'm starting to think that people are just rather ignorant!

babydubs oh my god what a cheeky b!!!!!

i would definately report her !!!!

i have to laugh at the whole you should have made an effort to lose the weight !! when i had ds the midwife said it takes 9 months to put it on and at LEAST 9 months to take it off least being the key word here !!!!!

look after yourself now and enjoy your pregnancy and worry about your weight when you have had the baby

csws i was feeling the baby last night as well it was all down one side and felt really strange but nice my dh wanted to feel it but he couldnt bless he was all upset

when i woke up this morning my belly was up at one side it looked like an alien hahahaha

caramelbunny · 18/04/2008 09:53

My belly does that too sambrads, when my bladder's full in the morning I have a big bulge on my lower left, looks very weird.

sparklesandnowinefor9months · 18/04/2008 13:18

Babydubs for you at having to take that crap from you midwife! You do know that you can request not to see that midwife don't you?

If it makes you feel any better when i first went to see the doctor with this pg as i was leaving she looked at me and said that 'as this was my 5th baby didn't i think that it was about time we thought about contraception so that this doesn't happen again!' i told her that ' it was none of her business how many children we decided to have and that i certainly didn't need any advice from her, and that this baby was as much wanted and planned as the others thank you very much' and walked out

i mean what give people the right to make judgements like that it makes me so angry, its just so bloody rude!!

rant over, sorry

afternoon everyone
i have my gtt on this thursday due to having gd last time and since there is a small gap between pregnancies i am most likely to get it again. it has its good points in that when they give me a due date it is usually guaranteed as they induce though very intense pain!
i am ashamed of my bump at mo as it looks like fat and not actually pregnant. bought a size 20 wrap around top that will grow with bump and size 8 trousers as low so should fit throughout if i curb my atrocious eating habits! had a {shock] in changing rooms as was bending forward and could see a huge roll folding over my lower tummy so declined the usual macdonalds big mac meal which is a treat for me and so back to salads it is once i have finished the cocktail sausages in the fridge

pistachio - i find that if i attempt to suck in my tummy then i can feel the movements, probably in protest to shrinking his little pool!!!!

sambrads · 19/04/2008 08:19

thats crazy bethoo how can you be such a small size 8 on the bottom and buy such a bigger top are you sure you are not being paranoid hahaha

i am a size 16 and i hope i dont go up to many sizes after i have the baby or it will freak me out as i have an underactive thyroid and its so hard to keep the weight off

pepperrabbit · 19/04/2008 11:16

Morning all, just checking in, welcome to all the newbies, I'm 15+1 now and my next scan isn't till 23 weeks so right on the outside edge of the recommended time! Exhausted here, not sleeping at all well, like many of the others, and DH has been away on business all week so solo coping with DSs at 2 and 3 years old has wiped me out - and we have to go to a christening tomorrow which is at least a 2 hour drive away... (moan moan!)
Definitely fat not PG here though now I've told work it's nice not to have to breathe in all the time! I think all the wobbly bits you normally tuck in your knickers to hide have been displaced by baby, hence the muffin top look!

bethoo · 19/04/2008 13:48

sambrads - just realised i put size 20 meant size 10

SmudgeyDoodle · 19/04/2008 14:14

Afternoon all. I'm feeling much better today as been to get my hair done this morning and DH has taken DS swimming so now I've got an hour to myself too, yippee!
Scan on Tue and I'm still very worried that things aren't going to be ok but nothing I can do about that now. It just feels different from last time but I still feel sick unless I eat every few hours. Oddly enough, I'm now not that bothered about Quavers and coke and have got a bit of a thing for pink grapefruit and greek salad!
Hello to new people (sorry too many posts to look back through) and to some silly MW comments Babydubs! I haven't seen a MW yet and am just over 13 weeks but will see one at just over 14 weeks. I hope you've heard something Lozza.
We haven't had much chat about names yet. We enjoyed making up silly ones last time and poor DS was nameless for a few days. DH was desperate to call him Crispin poor thing! [Smudgemum really hopes that noones DS is called Crispin and apologies if they are]

jess1996 · 19/04/2008 16:35

Hi all, Just wondered what you were all doing about clothes at the moment? I'm feeling chubby around the middle and most of my jeans/trousers are getting tight. Is 13.5 weeks too early for maternity trousers. Also my boobs look so big that most tops look very unflattering .

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/04/2008 16:38

Oh thank goodness Bethoo! I had visions of you being swamped in this enormous top with its shoulders round your elbows!

Lozza70 · 19/04/2008 16:39

Still no signs of seeing a midwife. I left a message on the community midwives answerphone on Thursday and it said I would get a call back on Friday but no call. Feeling put out and a bit annoyed as I would have thought they should return calls when they say. I'm going to call them again on Monday and try and get hold of someone and find out when they plan to see me.

At least this problem is not impacting my blood pressure. I had it checked on Friday and the nurse said it was very good [proud ecomotion]

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/04/2008 16:42

Lozza - blood pressure normally drops during pregnancy, so if stress was raising it it would prob just even out to a normal rate!

Lozza70 · 19/04/2008 16:42

On the clothes front I've bought a pair of maternity jeans and a pair of black maternity trousers but I've also bought some normal tops that are just cut a bit roomer. There are quite a few nice tops in M&S at the mo that are a bit bigger bit summery for the very cold weather is the only thing.

BubbaAndBump · 19/04/2008 17:12

I'm already in maternity clothes (14w4d) but haven't told work yet - though kids (I'm a teacher) have told me I'm pg so it must be true! lol

GAP are doing some nice maternity clothes, if you don't mind buying from them...

jsut dawned on me that i am having another baby! bloody heckers!!
just eaten a bag of grapes and now off to bed to read.
have a good sunday ladies

beakas · 20/04/2008 09:02

Jess- I have just been to next and bought several of their vest tops in funky colours, (2 for £10) and am wearing them layered under other tops.I bought some tops in the M and S sale which flare out from under my boobs so kind of disguise my flubby bits. Have bought one pair of maternity jeans from Mothercare but less than impressed, to be honest. I think they are aimed at people who are more pregnant than me (or have bigger bumps, anyway) as although mega comfy I have to keep hoicking them up, which isn;t ideal when you're walking down the high street! DH bought me a bumpband to wear over existing jeans until they are no more, they keep your back nice and warm and fold over your waistband.Bit of a palaver every time you go to the loo tho (so thats every hour then...)Have ordered some black work trousers from Jojomamanbebe, a friend of mine swears by hers, so worth a go (about £29)

jess1996 · 20/04/2008 16:50

Thanks guys for the advice. Think I will struggle on for another week in my normal clothes (I can still do up my jeans so it can't be too bad ). Then reconsider next weekend. I wouldn't normally need any excuse to go out and buy lots of new clothes, I just don't want to end up in maternity too soon.....
