Here's our shiney, new and slightly ameneded thread to reflect our main topic of conversation recently! Really didn't want to mention the cheese and rice in the same sentence, but as it is a favourite with so many of you, I had to add it in, sorry to Hanaflower!

thought i'd just leave a quick message so i can find you all again later.
The cheese and rice thing has passed me by i'm afraid....if i ever get chance to read all the previous thread, i might understand it! unless someone wants to fill me in!

TREBUCHET · 10/04/2008 13:38

Can I join in? I am seven weeks and bone achingly tired...!! Lugging round a 2 stone toddler this time round while last time, barely a shopping bag!!

Heartmum2Jamie · 10/04/2008 13:45

Mabel, I am not on the cheese and rice bandwagon, but some of the girls love it and eat it to help combat the nausea I think. Now I love cheese, I like rice, but I wouldn't eat them together, lol!

Welcome Trebuchet! I wasn't too bad at 7 weeks, but am getting more tired now. I do understand about the lugging a 2 stone toddler around, I still lug a 2 stone pre-schooler around, lol! It is very different to your first pregnancy where you treat yourself like you might break, no sucj luck with your second (or 3rd in my case) pregnancy!

I love our cheese and rice thang. Makes me want to chunder, just at the thought of it, but it is 'our thang', isn't it - makes me laugh.

coolkat · 10/04/2008 14:03

Hi Ladies

Could I join you , I had joined the due oct thread but I had my 12 week scan today and they have put me back 10 days and this leads me to you lovely ladies. My laptop at home is broke so I am just doing a naughty post from work. I am 10 +3 today according to my scan.

I have had a rough time as I got laid down with a viral infection at the start and have not managed to shift that fully but I am convincing myself that I will feel better in the next week or two!

I have one daughter who is 5 and me and DH have left it a while! All I want to drink is tropicana orange juice and I really like crisps at the minute!
Had an easy preganancy with DD but feel this is going to be harder, keep burping as well which is awful, anyone know what I can take?
Nice to meet you. X

Tinkerisdead · 10/04/2008 14:13

Thank god we've started a new thread, felt ill for two days logged on to catch up and it was like 20 pages!!!

Im getting fed up, no scan date through yet. Im 9 weeks so its dragging a bit not being able to tell people. I feel terrible with MS which gets worse at night.

DH wants to go out on sat night, third week in a row and I cant help feel annoyed. I wish i felt well enough to go out and so i resent him for being able to carry on whilst I grow our baby with my head down the toilet. On the other hand its nicer to stretch out in bed alone watching tv. Im so hormonal i cant win but still and that he is going out getting hammered with his mates.

Just posting so this appears on my threads

mad4mybaby · 10/04/2008 14:35

ANOTHER thread already! Blimey! I cant believe how many new people who keep popping up! I wonder if ours is the biggest out there at the mo?

Ok advice from you who are suffering from bad ms and have been to docs.. do you think it's worth a go me going to doc to try to get some anti nausea tablets of some sort? I really just cant stomach any liquid which is worrying me and also getting me really down stuggling to look after ds whilst feeling like this (i know worse for those of you who already have more than 1) but i came of happy pills a few months before ttc and am starting to get down about it all and dont want to go down that path...

lackaDAISYcal · 10/04/2008 14:51

bookmarking this for later as well.

I never understand the pages thing and get confused with it all so I have my browser set to MN classic view (you can change how you view MN in "customize talk board"), so it's all on one very long page with the messages scrolling out one after the other.

the sushi i ate with the pickled ginger is getting it's revenge. I feel v v ill again!

hi trebuchet and coolkat. I have 5 years between No1 and No2...but there'll only be 17 months between No2 and No3

Tinkerisdead · 10/04/2008 15:04

mad4mybaby - read your other thread. are fluids actually making you physically sick or make the nausea worse. im rarely sick but fluids make the nausea much worse and so im trying to sip stuff but i too am worried im not getting enough fluids.

i only ask if your actually sick as i doubt the docs would give tablets unless you are actually vomiting and retaining nothing? i asked my community midwife and my independant midwife and both refused saying it was normal and to keep sipping but i totally sympathise as its horrendous and the thirst makes it worse.

pinkyminky · 10/04/2008 15:11

Hi Trebuchet and Coolkat! Mad- If you can't take fluids, get thee to the doctors, you can take things if you are at risk of getting ill, which you are if you cannot take fluids. Have you tried sucking ice lollies? I think I've mentionned it before somewhere, but they can work. Real orange juice ones were the best for me.
I've been feeling dizzy and sick today and just fell off a stool getting paints down for DS. I'm going toregret that tomorrow.
Lack- I was just thinking about your babies yesterday- you will have two the same age apart as my two are now. They really are great fun- I don't think DS really remembers not having DD around and they're quite inseparable.

pinkyminky · 10/04/2008 15:18

A good midwife/ Gp will check your pee for keytones if you are concerned about lack of fluids, and if you have lost weight. I lost a stone in weight with my first before I was prescribed anything. MY cousin was prescribed buccastem by her gp for severe ms, not HG. It depends howy ou feel about it. You may actually not want to risk any medication unless things get really desperate. I'd give the lollies at least a try.

Heartmum thank you for our lovely new thread- you do look after us!

mad4mybaby · 10/04/2008 15:26

im not actually sick, i sort of talk myself out of it - i have abit of a sick phobia! Give me blood anyday. The fluid makes the nausea unbearable therfore im barely drinking and cant count food as not eating much esp fruit or veg, im not losing weight as i weighed myself yesterday...just konwing its going to get worse is getting me down, i had bad ms with ds until 4 months and doc in the area i lived in at the time were v unhelpful, sort of put up and shut up.

pinkyminky · 10/04/2008 15:37

If you are not actually being uncontrollably sick, then you should really avoid taking drugs. Sorry, not what you wanted to hear. .

Autumn lady sorry I know this question was about 4 pages back but it has been a busy MN day!!! I too have bad indigestion which makes me feel sick. Someone (Sorry can't remeber who) suggested peppermint cordial with warm boiled water might help. I haven't tried it yet but am off up the shops shortly so I will let you know how I get on, I know my friend swears by peppermint tea but I don't like it.
Welcome to all the Newbies, this has to be the biggest thread surely????
Is anyone Cumbria or the North East???

lackaDAISYcal · 10/04/2008 15:58

m4mb.....I don't know if ayou've heard of preggiepops, but some of the ladies on my last AN thread had these and swore by them. You can now get them in sweetie form rather than lollipop (lollipops always make me feel like I'm eight years old!)

or there might be something suitable in The Apothecary's Garden herbal range

pinky, i'm looking forward to them growing up together. there are 22 months between my sister and I and we have always been great friends. I'm a bit worried that DS will feel even more isolated though if the two littlies are thick as thieves.

mad4mybaby · 10/04/2008 15:59

i tried that lst night and made me feel worse! can see how it helps with indigestion tho

mad4mybaby · 10/04/2008 16:00

thanks lacka yes i got preggie pops last week. are good but getting ulcers as i need them all the time!

pinkyminky · 10/04/2008 16:23

Peppermint's probably best for indigestion and wind. Not sure about nausea. Give it a go? They give it post op in hospital with a bit of paracetamol for those weird bits of wind that gets trapped in strange parts of your body after surgery!
Lack- Sounds like that could be a whole other thread! Perhaps you could get some advice from other mums with similar gaps?

AutumnLady · 10/04/2008 16:46

hi guys
Thought I would post quickly so that I can find the thread again later!!

Quick question, is it normal to be more thirsty? This may sound daft but at home the other evening I drank at 1.5l bottle of orange and pineapple squash that I had diluted and put in the fridge. I do drink throughout the day but can't seem to quench it

any thoughts?
