My Dad is going to Bulgaria on Friday morning and he wants to see Millie before he goes, lol! Am meeting him for coffee tomorrow, he will be back a week Saturday.

Scampmum · 09/04/2008 19:41

Come on then, Scorpio, what's keeping you? You really are being very inconsiderate...

scorpio1 · 09/04/2008 19:41

i know, i love the difficulty of walking too much to let her out!!

moominsmummy · 09/04/2008 19:42

sorry ellie - didn't realise that about DSD's mum.

scampmum - well I am busy being in a total foul mood with DH now - the trip on the wheel was moved to saturday (due to picking up his bloody new car today- grrr) and DH said he could come too then. My friend whom I haven't seen for ages is coming for weekend so she could also come with us. I did suggest that DSS does not come with us as he as DS bicker constantly and if DH is ill (quite likely) and can't come I'll have to look after two bickering kids all day which is also a bit harsh on my friend. Firstly he agrees but then apparently DSS mum is away so she has decided DSS is coming to us all weekend - and of course DH doesn't argue with this - his answer to me is "I will be fine and will look after the kids". Brilliant. very realistic. my arse.

so now my lovely quality-time-with-DS-before-baby-arrives is turning into me marshalling a family outing full of stress. and DH wonders why I'm in a bad mood.

rant over.

sorry.

scorpio1 · 09/04/2008 19:43

moomin - rant away my lovely, you have so much on your plate that i feel very stupid next to you moaning about DH. Look after yourself.

Scampmum · 09/04/2008 19:50

Echo Scorpio - rant away! Am sure your friend won't mind - does she have kids? Or tell the boys that if they can go all day without bickering they get a treat.

Carey87 · 09/04/2008 19:57

moomins - hats off to ya lady! your doing such a fantastic job hun, dont ever forgot that!

I know this is really bad, but i just want lo out now. really getting me down being pregnant still, even though im only 38 weeks, dont know why! bloody hormones!!!

northeastmummy · 09/04/2008 20:09

Oh crikey - just skim read most of the last few pages so sorry for not catching everything. I hope you're all doing ok!

Denny - it was me that had the negative strep test and I'm delighted !

Whoever it is that has swollen feet, they WILL go back to normal. I had the hugest feet in the world with my first pregnancy - I didn't recognise them as my own by the end. I certainly couldn't imagine them every being normal again but they very quickly bounced back so don't worry.

Peachy - my Mum told me that about the woman getting transferred from Scotland to Liverpool . I think she was having triplets so it was a problem with a shortage of space in the SCBU. Scary stuff.

goodcatholicgirl · 09/04/2008 20:24

Blimey you April bunch can chat!!!! and so many of you....

Anyway, quick message for denny185, nice to know that you can keep up to date with my daily trials and tribulations via MN ha ha ha!!

I can just imagine your DD1 saying that aswell!!! I posted something for Aeryn today XXX

My DD much better tonight, had lovely bath time and she told me she loved me again .

BTW, I may be crashing, but I am due 2nd May, so if I am early, I may end up joining the April post-natal thread....so I don't feel like such a thread crasher now!!!

goodcatholicgirl · 09/04/2008 20:25

That's royal mail posted as opposed to MN posting btw. I don't think at a week old she's quite ready for MN .

moominsmummy · 09/04/2008 20:37

thanks folks - DH being a bit more reasonable now - and so he should be - it's his bloody genes that means DS needs the hearing aid (DH, DSS and DS all have chronic glue ear). have been told by consultant that if this LO is a boy it's pretty certain he will also get glue ear. if it's a girl - slightly less chance of getting it. should have saved myself the hassle and gone to a sperm bank instead of sleeping with DH ....rant.... moan.... .... rant....

still on the positive side my brother says he's about to dump his horrid girlfriend. so nice things do happen

OP posts:
Carey87 · 09/04/2008 20:56

moomins - LOL at brothers horrible girlfriend!!

back is just starting to 'tweak', bloody wish it would make its mind up!!!

Peachy · 09/04/2008 21:11

Moomin, ds2 is waiting for grommets for glue ear- doesn't seem to be a gene with us though.

BR- if you get worried with the BF stuff, you've got my mobile number. I didnt feed ds1 or ds2 well at all, then my work sent me to do the Unicef baby friendly initiative training course- and ds3 fed until 16 months . Feel free to call or text if you need a chat or reassurance OK? (TikTok on here is amazing as well, she's a BF counsellor). Any MW that tells you that leaving a baby unfed for 12 hours though- . It's regular frequent feeds they need to build up the supply, if they start getting tired or dehydarted everything gets harder I think.

Sal22 · 09/04/2008 21:19

Finally got around to it - I've just added a couple of baby pics to my profile.

Thanks for the kind words, ToastAddict. I'm feeling slightly better now, and DH is being really nice to me, so that helps. Think my hormones worse now than any time during the last almost 9 months. At least my boobs are feeling slightly better, so all good.

Good night to everyone - I'm having an early one tonight.

Mollyfloss · 09/04/2008 21:52

Have just been catching up on the thread. Some of you ladies have a LOT to contend with and yet you are all so positive. I am full of admiration. Hope those of you who have had a difficult day are feeling a bit better now and that you manage to get a good nights sleep (I know that's not easy for those who already have their LO's!)

chipmonkey · 09/04/2008 22:33

Moomin, I don't know if this will be helpful to you but ds1 and ds2 both had bad glue ear and grommets at about 18 months. I had bfed them for 12 months each.
I bfed ds3 for 2.8 years and he has never had glue ear. Didn't intend to bf him that long, it was all his idea but it did have some nice side effects!
At a course I was on they touched on glue ear and the lecturer said in a lot of cases it could be linked to cow's milk protein managing to get into the Eustachian tubes and causing a reaction, don't know what studies this was based on but he was generally very well-informed.
Again, don't want to come across as lecture-y, just thought I'd say it!

bunnyrabbit · 09/04/2008 23:19

Thanks scampmum. He woke up just before the 12 hours and fed from one boob and then an hour later from the other. Only colostrom at the mo but at least he's keen.

Thanks Peachy. Already have sore nipples so pretty sure it's my positioning that's shite. Hopefully breastfeeding guru from Ante-natal clinic is coming over tomorrow so should hopefully sort me out before I rip myself to shreds again.

Anyway, Dh is telling me off for not being in bed (only had 2 hours sleep last night on account of giving birth) so night night all, what would I do without you???

BR

Sheds75 · 10/04/2008 06:25

morning all, well we are finally home after what can only be described as a traumatic few days.

will post full story later but in short, got to full dialation then doctor decided Henry was in deep transvers postiion and an e-cetion woudl be required. He was born on sunday morning with no problem.

4 hours later on the post ward I fainted and was rushed back down to the labour suit, I was loosing loads of blood due to my uterus not contracting. lost around 3 pints of blood and had lat many drugs I didn't really get to see much of my lovely new lO.

now back home rather sore but loving the new addition to our family.

congrats to all the other new additions. will catch up later

moominsmummy · 10/04/2008 06:40

Sheds - so glad you're home and well now - what a nightmare you've had - did you have to have transfusion? Hope you are being well pampered by all those around you

moominsmummy · 10/04/2008 07:09

ChipM - thanks for the info on breastmilk/cow's milk - have heard another related thing on milk and glue ear too. last time I gave DS a bottle of formula a day from about 4 months (so he got used to it before I went back to work) -this time I think I'll take advantage of the fact that I am a bit of a milk fountain and expressed loads instead and avoid the formula (will save money too!)

am feeling more positive this morning - thanks for all the kind words yesterday and for letting me have a moan. Today I have decided just to be very proud of DS that he has done so well with speech and social development despite hearing loss. and at least hearing aid will only be needed until he's about 6 or 7

we will have to launch a search party for the PFJ later if she doesn't check in- I have a torch and some kendal mint cake -anyone got any flares or an inflatable raft?

OP posts:
moominsmummy · 10/04/2008 09:07

hello???

anyone there???

surely you're not all in labour this morning??

OP posts:
Mollyfloss · 10/04/2008 09:09

Morning!

Mollyfloss · 10/04/2008 09:15

Sheds: Glad you're doing ok now and enjoying your LO!

Well I'm definitely not in labour. Due on Sunday but expect my LO to be quite late. She's way too comfy in there! I keep planning little things to do so the wait won't seem too long.

Just thinking about BF. I haven't leaked or anything which I think is normal for first timers. I hope I will have plenty of milk when it comes in. I really don't want to bottle feed.

scorpio1 · 10/04/2008 09:16

Yes, i'm still here

Carey87 · 10/04/2008 09:17

morning!
