hello everyone. Am rather stressed at the moment, had some light spotting last night and am terrified about what this means. Am about 7 weeks now. Can't speak to doctor till tomorrow morning. A nurse friend of mine told me there is nothing I can do but take it easy and see what happens. Keep your fingers crossed for me ladies!

Keeping everything crossed for you, yingers. It's very common at this stage, but still scary, of course. Will be thinking of you - do let us know how it goes at the doctor's.

maretta · 19/01/2005 16:22

Hope everything is ok yingers. I had some spotting at about 6 or 7 weeks with ds and it all turned out OK. Thinking of you.

I know what you all mean about worrying. I keep telling myself that's it's pointless and I've just got to forget about it for the next few weeks but I can't help it. Im sure last time I was much more chilled about it all.

Just been in Sainsbury's on a mission to purchase 3 meals. Everthing I looked at made me feel sick. I've managed to buy light bulbs, some tulips and kitchen roll.

Kiwicath · 19/01/2005 18:21

Yingers, kick back tonight and take it easy hon. I'm no wise owl but heard that it's very common, even heavy bleeds. Remember, some women continue to have periods for the first couple of months of pregnancy! Good luck at the Docs.

So I'm seeing I'm not the only paranoid one among us. With my first babe, I tested on day 29 and the minute I got the blue line I was telling the world, even though my sisters (nurses) were telling me to take it easy and that it was early days. I just felt so sure that no way was I going to lose that baby. This time however, I'm feeling slightly odd. Still no symptoms at all, not even sore boobs (though still breastfeeding which is probably why). Just don't want to go singing from the tree tops until I see that little bean on the scan and hear his little heart beat. Got forever to wait though .

Piccalilli · 19/01/2005 20:55

Hi, can I join this thread? I'm due on 22/09, my first baby but had a mc in Nov so feeling very very nervous about this pregnancy. Have had a lot of tummy pain which isn't helping.

franch · 19/01/2005 20:58

Hi Piccalilli, congratulations! FWIW, I had a miscarriage too shortly before conceiving DD. There's no reason to think anything should go wrong this time. Where are you planning on having your baby?

franch · 19/01/2005 20:59

Sorry if that sounded a bit brisk - was meant to be reassuring! I do sympathise with the worry.

Piccalilli · 19/01/2005 21:06

Thanks - I'm trying to be sensible and not worry too much but it's difficult when no-one except dh knows yet so there's no-one to talk to. Planning on having the baby at St George's in Tooting, S London

Picallili - I've also had stomach pains/cramps probably for about the last 2 weeks if not more, although they do seem to be diminishing. I'm hoping it's just another new symptom, along with the nausea, because I had neither with dd.
Can't wait (albeit nervously) for my booking-in appointment/scan - another milestone to reach. I seem to remember being a bit more chilled out once I'd got past the scan stage.

Sallie · 20/01/2005 11:28

Hi everyone and welcome to the new members. Well - not much to report. Went for my GP appointment on Tuesday afternoon. My GP is fab and we had a good chat. He has done all the paperwork so am now officially in the system. Have never had to do an additional test for the doctors and this is my third pregnancy (the mc in sept didn't get to this stage so not counting it). Have asked for same team of midwives, the shared care (domino) option and to be referred to C&W. Looking forward to hearing from the midwives now. They are a great team and as my pregnancies have been close together, have got to know them fairly well. Was feeling a little nauseous this morning and slight headache too, so good I got a seat on the tube. Feeling ok now especially since I got some breakfast on board.
Didn't get ms with either of my other pregnancies though did get very tired and a few headaches. Am sooo looking forward to the first scan (nervous too of course). Am hoping dh might be able to scan me early just to check all is well.
Hope you are all ok. Hugs to those going through ms((((()))))))

DecafArabica · 20/01/2005 12:08

Hi everyone. I too have been having very vivid dreams, slight spotting and stomach pains! I think it's just my ancient reproduction machinery cranking itself into gear Definitely didn't notice the stomach pains with DS, or maybe I did, but have simply forgotten. In any event, I know I also won't feel OK until I have had a good scan result.

pooka · 20/01/2005 13:09

Have heard from Kings - scan is booked for 21st February. Very excited to have heard.
Sallie - how can your dh scan you before, you lucky thing! Is this his line of work? Or just a hobby.

Sallie · 20/01/2005 13:14

His line of work although may not be able to sort it out before the 12 week scan. But thats why we have found out the sex of the baby in my two previous pregnancies as he was always going to know by looking at the scan.....
GP did all the referral paperwork for me whilst we sat and chatted so am hoping will hear from C&W and the midwives before too long. Apparently (according to my GP), C&W are pretty busy at the moment so he said it was a good thing I went to see him now to get it all in motion rather than leaving it for a few more weeks which was what I had been inclined to do. Pooka - your scan date came through really quickly didn't it?
Have been reading other antenatal threads this morning and have encountered lots of sad news which makes me feel really anxious about the first scan......

pooka · 20/01/2005 13:18

Yes, very impressed with prompt response. I know what you mean about reading sad news. I keep having to remind myself that there's nothing I can do ATM to alter the outcome of the scan - just have to sit tight and hope I'm one of the 97%.

zubb · 20/01/2005 13:22

Yingers - how are you?
I wish my appointment with the midwife was sooner, it seems so unreal at the moment. Have no symptoms really now, even my handy evening nausea has gone, so I have no excuse to sit back and watch dh do dinner / bath and bed! Feel a lot less bloated than I did as well which is great, though not sure why.

pooka · 20/01/2005 13:46

Yes Yingers, any news? Hope you were reassured at the surgery.

franch · 20/01/2005 16:29

Hi all -

Yingers - we're all thinking of you. Hope everything's fine.

Sallie - thank you for the much needed hugs! Vomited non-stop all morning - poor DD didn't know what was going on - felt utterly gruesome and have only just managed to get a bit of yoghurt down me. Starting to get very drained by all this. Mum and Dad finally arrived this afternoon though to help out, thank god - they've taken DD out to the shops just now so I'm going to catch up on some phonecalls and get a bit of rest.

Pooka - at your scan appointment! Where's mine??!!

LadyLazarus · 20/01/2005 17:33

Hi everyone,
I only just found out I'm pregnant for the first time this week! LMP was 6th December...Did 2 pg tests, feeling more confident about the results now hehe. Can't get a Dr's appointment until the 31st of Jan tho (the joys of living in London). Glad I discovered this web forum!

LadyLazarus · 20/01/2005 17:34

PS am planning to have baby at St Mary's in London, W2 which is my local.
