And why isn't anyone due on MY birthday (23 Sept)? Welcome LadyLazarus, and many congrats. Hope you're enjoying your pregnancy so far. I don't have a GP appt until 29 Janyes, I also live in London! But as someone kindly pointed out, lots of people don't find out they are pregnant until they are lots further along than we areand still manage to get scan dates at the right time, even at v busy hospitals.
Feeling very virtuous today as woke up in a real can-do mood and have spent the morning sorting through sea of neglected paperwork, filing bank statements etc. I remember this from last time around. Had days when I was super-organised and days when I just sat on the sofa staring into space!

DecafArabica · 20/01/2005 18:25

Yingers, hope you're OK, thinking of you...maybe you can get a scan at the EPU to reassure you.

pooka · 20/01/2005 18:39

Oh Franch, poor you ((((hugs)))).
I feel like a fraud because just nauseous, not actually sick. Can't cook, so feel guilty that am not being a proper mother to dd, as also spending long periods lying on the sofa like a romantic heroine while dd wrecks the joint completely unchecked.
Still have gripey stomach - and can only eat confectionary! At least that's my excuse.

andif · 20/01/2005 18:57

Can I join in?
Feel like a bit of an old timer - already have ds8 and ds5 (he'll be 6 a couple of weeks before I'm due!) Got broody when friends started having large gaps and reallly enjoying experience. Hit 6 wks today (due 15 Sept) and feel yuck - bloated, nauseous (especially in Sainsburys!), not sleeping so v tired, and know it will get worse before it gets better. Still, getting cautiously excited!

franch · 20/01/2005 19:03

Congratulations and welcome, andif!! Just a 19-month age gap for me, so a bit of a contrast .... Where are you planning on giving birth? I'll add you to our burgeoning list.

andif · 20/01/2005 19:37

Planning birth at Kingston Hosp - would love to be brave enough for a home birth, but both v different so don't know what to expect this time.

franch · 20/01/2005 19:42

PicadillyCircus · 20/01/2005 21:19

Zubb is due on my birthday . I have the feeling DS2/DD will come earlier than my due date, but hopefully I will get my birthday in peace.

Alternatively, it could be born on my cousin's birthday (15th September), aunt's birthday (20th September), my dad's birthday (24th September). Looks like there were a few people "busy" over Christmas in years gone by

PicadillyCircus · 20/01/2005 21:21

And I'm 5 weeks today - why does the beginning of being pregnant go so slowly?

diane77 · 20/01/2005 21:33

hi im due 4th september this is my 2nd my first emma is 18months

I plan to deliver at st johns livingston scotland

congratulations all!!

yingers74 · 20/01/2005 22:47

Hey all,

Not much to report, GP was nice but could only advise to wait and see what happens and try to take it easy. If I get a lot of pain or have a big bleed then should go to casualty. So it is just a waiting game now! I can go see her again on Tuesday and depending on what has happened perhaps have a scan. Fingers crossed all! I asked a lot of questions but have no idea what to expect in the next few days. Had a cry last night. Friend came round today so that kept my mind off things. Not sure about managing to rest though, dd ran rings around me today!

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well and not suffering too much from MS.

Welcome to all the recent joiners, nice crowd in here.

Love to all x

Yingers, that's pretty much exactly what my locum gp said - wait and see, some women get spotting and non-specific abdominal pain etc etc. Roll on first scan.... And as for taking it easy - well that's easier said than done. I think this first trimester is horrible, and it does drag on.

Diane - congratulations and hi there. Your stats are almost identical to mine - I'm due on the 3rd and have a dd of 18months too.

zubb · 21/01/2005 10:16

PC - it's my Mums birthday too - think she'll be quite excited when I tell her! Unlikely to be the exact day though, ds1 was 3 days early, and ds2 8 days late - so could be anytime!

LadyLazarus · 21/01/2005 10:37

Urgh I feel a trifle queasy!! And have funny tummy cramps... it all seems to have come on in the last week, since I did the first pregnancy test. I keep thinking I'm imagining it all!! How's everyone else bearing up?!

Sallie · 21/01/2005 10:39

I am still very anxious! Did another test today - it was a BFP. Need to stop going into Boots!!!

Piccalilli · 21/01/2005 11:31

I know what you mean about the tests Sallie - I've done about 20! At this rate I'll be bankrout before I get past the first trimester. My abdominal pains seem to have calmed down a bit which is a relief although of course now I'm fretting about not feeling pregnant. Can't wait til I can have a scan.

Sallie · 21/01/2005 11:43

I don't feel that pg either although feel hungry a lot and very very tired. Can't wait for the scans.....although scared too.

franch · 21/01/2005 13:15

Yingers, good to get your update. Was thinking about you all last night. Hugs to you, and lots of good vibes.

No improvement from miseryguts here, but I've so much to be thankful for

SarahBee · 21/01/2005 13:46

Hi - can I join? Five + weeks pregnant and only just feeling that it's ok to admit it, even virtually! DH knows and DD "knows" but being 17 months old hasn't got the foggiest what I'm on about. Much sympathy/empathy with those who are worrying about getting through the next few weeks - awaiting those scans when you finally see evidence of pregnancy is sooooo difficult.

My stats for the list:
Sarahbee 19/9 (no2 - dd 25m)- Princess Royal, Farnborough

Fingers crossed that the next few weeks/months pass smoothly for us all.

Pooka - seems we're nearby, and I reckon we met at antenatal classes last time round. I'm sure you can guess who I am from cunning nickname and if you are who I think you are (and even if not) I'm so excited at the coincidence of close babies again! I won't tell anyone else we know if you don't! And BTW I had stomach cramps loads last time, around time period should have been due for two or three months and was ok, told it was just hormones settling/uterus stretching.

pooka · 21/01/2005 13:52

OH MY GOODNESS. SarahB I know who YOU are! That is so crazy. Just to confirm, in case you aren't who I think you are, would your dd's name begin with an E? I have dd called....LUCY!
I'm jumping up and down with excitement! And how did you guess who I am?

pooka · 21/01/2005 13:55

Sorry - that should be SarahBee!

SarahBee · 21/01/2005 13:57

Pooka - it is you and you're right about E, don't know how I knew, although I knew you weren't planning a long gap and saw the same hospital name, right age gap....... Wow! Fantastic, we can do it all again. I'm giving up work asap this time!

pooka · 21/01/2005 14:00

Crikey - you mean you're not going to work until 2 weeks before due date, you crazy person! I'm (fingers crossed that all goes well, touch wood and all other superstitious things) thinking of leaving around Lucy's birthday, which is pretty early really. And unlikely to go back as wouldn't wish 2 babies on my mother. She gets tired enough as it is!
We should really really meet up soon. What are you up to next Wednesday?

pooka · 21/01/2005 14:03

Ooops - just realised that can't do next Weds morning.

SarahBee · 21/01/2005 14:07

Will email you pooka rather than hijack this thread further. Hope nobody minds us being caught up in the excitement and forgetting our manners, sorry.

Look forward to hearing everyone's progress. Currently surprisingly symptom free but awaiting onset of killer migraines (every third day for two weeks if last pregnancy was anything to go by).
