I know some of you from TTC threads - Decafarabica and Yingers74. Have been feeling very sick at all times of day but seems to be cooling off now. Cramps on and off to. Other than that few symptoms. When first pg with DS (3.8) rushed to DR's like maniac to inform them - have little urge now ! What did any of you do ???

franch · 26/01/2005 19:37

Hi marinda, congratulations! Shall I add you to our list? If so please let me know your ds's age on your EDD, and where you plan to give birth.

I went to the doctors fairly quickly this time, just to get my 1st scan asap. 18 Feb - can't wait

marinda · 26/01/2005 19:45

My DS is 3.8 and I hope to give birth in Stafford (Midlands)
Feel a right tool - don't know what to do ! Pleased but shocked- it took me 7 months to get here so guess need to get used to it first . Speak soon.

franch · 26/01/2005 19:47

So he'll be 4y 4m when no. 2 is due?

Jeepers · 26/01/2005 19:48

Yep, is my first baby. EDD 6/9 in Leeds General Infirmary. M/s has been strange. Lots of sickness on and off over the last few weeks but then it can disappear for days at a time. The one thing i am concerned about is the scary growth of my breasts! If they continue at this rate I shall have to employ strong young men to assist in their support!

I'm jealous Jeepers. I got breasts during my first pregnancy and I'd never had them before. I was so looking forward to their return but so far - nothing.

Jeepers · 26/01/2005 19:58

Lets just hope they don't turn into comedy Jordan breasts, or do someone an nasty injury......

franch · 26/01/2005 20:00

Mine only turned into comedy Jordan ones when they got engorged just after DD was born - eek - I hated them! Made the return of my naturally non-existent ones much easier to cope with

maretta · 26/01/2005 20:04

I wonder what happened to Jordan's breasts when she was pregnant. There's a scary thought.

Franch - Pinderfields is in Wakefield, W. Yorks

Marinda, I did my test on Saturday and was straight to the Drs on Monday morning! It's my 1st and I was amazed that drs just took my word for it that I was pregnant (I didn't even mention to him that I had done 3 tests!!!lol)

marinda · 26/01/2005 22:16

That's right Franch 4.4yrs.

yingers74 · 26/01/2005 22:25

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to say that I am ok and thanks for your support and kind words. Hopefully with a bit of luck I will be able to have good news again in the not so distant future!

love to all x

Beatie · 27/01/2005 09:09

Morning everyone.

How many people work? I would have expected some to log on by now. Come on. It's 9am! Isn't this the first thing you log on to?

I no longer work and have been a SAHM since September. I'm wondering if it is better to be at work with m/s or at home with a toddler and m/s. There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

A lot of people seem to be having scans really early. Does thi smean your health authority offers the Nuchal Translucency (sp?) scan? Mine doesn't. Just a 16 week scan and the triple test. I cannot decide whether to pay to have the nuchal scan done privately. What does everyone think?

YOKEFLEET · 27/01/2005 09:35

Morning All,

I can't be any help with the m/s question, as I haven't had any yet (5w at min) I hope that I don't get it whilst at work though as I don't want them to know until at least 12w.

Beatie · 27/01/2005 09:47

Yokefleet - I had m/s with 3 pregnancies whilst I was working and I think colleagues suspected each time just because of my very weird eating habits. I expect the drawer full of ginger biscuits gave it away most.

zubb · 27/01/2005 09:57

I work from home so if I did have m/s then no-one would notice anyway! With ds1 I was working, but in an office full of men so they wouldn't have noticed at all!
I won't get a date for the scan until after I have seen the midwife next week. We get a 12 week and a 20 week one.

nably · 27/01/2005 10:07

Hello all, I tried to post a message the other day but it didnt appear so I hope its working now. Ive been given a date of 16th September for my first. Im really quite worried as I had an ectopic and lost a tube 9 years ago and the doctor said they wont scan me until at least 8 weeks and then id have to pay! Im not in any pain so I suppose thats why.

Im worried now that im tempting fate by writing this so id be interested to know if anyone else is as paranoid as me...is that part of pregnancy???!!

I dont want work to know until 10-12 weeks but I feel like im podgy already and im normally going to the gym 3 times a week but cant be bothered at the moment..too tired.

Sorry if im babbling. My DH (getting used to the lingo already!) and I are the only people who know..and you all too of course now! Does anyone else think this January has been the longest Jan in the history of January's??!!!

YOKEFLEET · 27/01/2005 10:15

Hi Nably and congratulations.

I'm led to beleive that these feelings are very normal!!! I don't know about it being a long January, I only did test last Saturday and it's already been a blooming long week!! lol

zubb · 27/01/2005 10:16

Hi Nably, congratulations! I think everyone is paranoid with number 1, but after an ectopic then its understandable that you feel nervous.
I've found that in the first few weeks I get quite bloated, but this goes down after a while. A couple of weeks ago I was sure that everyone would know I was pregnant and was wearing huge jumpers, but now I feel a lot lighter again. The tiredness is very normal as well at the beginning, just rest as much as you can. I've not been swimming or to the gym for weeks, but hope to restart in a couple of weeks when I feel more up to it.

PicadillyCircus · 27/01/2005 10:20

Hello nably and welcome .

I agree that this has been the longest January ever - nearly February though .

I don't know the date for my scan yet, although at least I'll be getting a 12 week one this time (with DS it was only a 20 week one which was a long time to wait). Here they don't pay for the nuchal fold scan - I don't think I'll be having it done.

I work part time - you can probably tell days I work (and I'm in the office) as I work 8-4:15 and tend to log on when I get to work. (If I'm out at a client and doing an audit then I won't log on at all ).

Today as you've probably guessed I am not at work. DS felt that despite sleeping for 12.5 hours last night, that he needed another nap at 9:30 - I think he is getting a cold as he is very snotty. He also catches up on sleep when he's not at nursery. But as I've done my (very limited) amounts of housework I feel justified in having a bit of Mumsnet time.

Jaxpax · 27/01/2005 10:32

Yingers - its good to hear you are well and ready to try again. Loads of luck to you. Keep in touch.
x

I took vol. redundancy end of November 04. Needed to take a break from work and commuting to London. So at present I'm at home which is great. The thought of going back to work is not very appealing as I am exhausted a lot of the time. If I decide to return to work shortly (before bump appears) am I obliged to tell my prospective employer that I am pg??

Welcome to all you new ladies.

DecafArabica · 27/01/2005 10:53

Marinda! Congratulations. My DS will also be 4yrs 4months when new baby comes. I'm not going to tell him for ages though, just in case anything goes wrong.
