dizzydixies · 31/03/2008 09:50

according to my dh (incase he's looking) am finishing off my college assignment lol
am back at work on Thurs so you'll all have to manage without me

it was a silver cross one I was looking at too but seeing as dd2 has legged it out onto the road TWICE this week I think I'm in for a double please don't think am being neglegent - she's FARKING FAST!! the first time my friend was watching her and I was watching the rest of them, poor friend was horrified and just about to have to lie down and the second time I was opening car door - she was a top of garden path when I started and in middle of road when I'd managed to get it open

HazieAndBaby · 31/03/2008 10:02

Don't worry dizzy, kids are fast! And you're also pregnant, so there's 2 reasons that I don't think bad of you! I saw a really cool double buggy the other week, I think it was a Phil and Ted one?? This one here. DH's cousin has the single version and it's really nice. It think it comes in red and blue as well but I quite like the apple one.
I was in Tesco the other day and got loads of Tommee Tippee stuff for 1/2 price so was really chuffed with that. I got a steriliser, bottles, breast pads and a breast bump all for £30! Feel like I've started properly shopping nownow!

HazieAndBaby · 31/03/2008 10:03

Hmm, nownow? Think I need another cup of tea!

libbyssister · 31/03/2008 10:04

Ooh dear, 'doming' doesn't sound good. I can roll out of bed (most mornings but it's difficult to do anything else in the bath but sit up... Any advice dizzy? Others than showers...

Maggie also makes me think of that Rod Stewart song called Maggie May . Showing my age! I keep singing it now.

Dizzy, when DH was packing up the car on the opposite side of the (busy main) road for our hols last year, our DS went out of our front door, down the front path and was about to step into the road to go and 'see Daddy' when I came out of the front door and yelled! He had shorts and no shoes and socks on... I think they do it just to keep the blood pumping round our bodies

HazieAndBaby · 31/03/2008 10:06

Sorry, this one!

That's the doubles kit, the baby obviously doesn't go in the basket bit underneath, unless that's what you want to do!!

dizzydixies · 31/03/2008 10:12

was a phil and teds was looking at but its not available here yet. I would like one I can use as a double but convert to a single for occassions when don't have dd2 with me or when she can be trusted lol

this one!!
I also like this one
icandy pear
both dramatically our of our non existant pram budget, dh doesn't think we need a new one but then he never takes the kids anywhere they need a pram unless he's with me!

libbythank god I'm not the only one with a houdini! eeeemmmm, don't use your tummy muscles to pull yourself up, use your arms instead - sorry no idea! you may not have the same thing as me, my stomach muscles are knackered hence the tubi-grip You may have a triangle made up of baby!!! Is it bad that at the ripe old age of 31 I want a hat like your ds!?!?! Its cold all the way up here you know

HazieAndBaby · 31/03/2008 10:20

That Phil & Ted one is so much nicer than I one I saw! And what are you doing showing me the other one when I've clearly made up my mind! It's really really nice, even for a single one at the moment to add to later. Maybe I should wait until I see how I get on with this little one before thinking of any future additions! Can't be that bad though can it, you're onto number 3!

libbyssister · 31/03/2008 10:22

My stomach muscles are shot too... Well that's what the physio said when I went about my bad back. So obviously all that bad hoiking myself up isn't helping. No more triangular baby shapes! I will try to be careful...

I've had on my eye on an icandy cherry www.icandyuk.com/cherry.htm, I figure if I need to do some DS hand holding then it will be easier to manoevre (sp!) with a single bar handle than two handles like I have now (I just go round in circles if I push that one-handed!). I keep kicking the s*%£ out of my current one (on the rare occasions we use it) in the hope it will fall apart by the time no. 2 comes along

libbyssister · 31/03/2008 10:24

Not sure Mothercare hat went past 5-6 years, dizzy.... You got a small head?

dizzydixies · 31/03/2008 10:26

meep sorry! you shouldn't be listening to me, I need a double remember lol

libby this tubi grip, as unattractive as it is, is fantastic. Sounds ridiclious but its making such a difference to me - can you get the physio to give you one of those?
if you want to 'lose' current pram, may I suggest 'accidently' closing the car boot on it?!?!? [wiknk]

HazieAndBaby · 31/03/2008 10:31

You guys are evil with your buggy wrecking antics! lol I'm picking up bad habits from you all, I'm sure!

I was wondering about one-handed buggy pushing and you've answered my question libbyssister! I've got a dog and was not sure how I'd manage with walking the dog and pushing the baby as well. I'd kind of decided that the single bar handle might be the best idea! Glad to see that sometimes my brain does work on its own!

libbyssister · 31/03/2008 10:32

ooh it's a plan! A friend of mine 'accidently' forgot she had left it behind the car and reversed over hers!!!

Does tubigrip force everything up and down? Like control pants?

dizzydixies · 31/03/2008 10:34

hazie absolutely second single bar for one handed pushing, our Jane powertrack was fantastic for it, could turn on a 10p piece!

libby the same friend who shut hers in the boot forgot to close her boot properly and the door opened (fiat multipla) and it fell out onto very busy carriageway - not recommending that one though!!

tubi grip not quite as miraculous as magic pants unfortunately but certainly gives me a feeling of support, I forgot to put it on yesterday and REALLY noticed a difference

libbyssister · 31/03/2008 10:36

Hazie, single handles are good for somethings...bags mainly. And also my DH used to find it useful that you could adjust the handle height as he's quite a bit taller than me. But I always wished I'd opted for the single bar.

dizzydixies · 31/03/2008 10:42

tis true, you should see how loaded up the buggy is when we take dd1 to her swimming lesson, dd2 has not choice but to sit in it lol

HazieAndBaby · 31/03/2008 10:49

Well girls, off to get ready! My scan is at 1.30pm and have a few things to do in town first. I'll be back later with my update - finger crossing commences... now! xx

dizzydixies · 31/03/2008 10:52

Hazie too exciting, will check back later to see how you get on!

Buckets · 31/03/2008 11:36

Morning all, I completely forgot an educational psychologist was coming round this am to meet DS (3). She was really nice though and didn't seem to mind tiptoeing through the wreckage to my filthy sofa.
Anyway, she said she will get DS an inclusive place at the pre-school he's due to start in Sep, with or without an autism diagnosis. Basically means he'll have someone gently guiding him to join in and frees up another normal place for the lovely pre-school (I'm on the committee so extra income for us is always pleasing - or have I got my priorities wrong here? LOL)
Anyway I'm in a good mood. Managed to have sex last night, had been worrying after slight panic attack during the last attempt! Think bump was getting squashed or something, definitely wasn't happy anyway, and sent a big adrenalin rush to my head, floods of tears and took ages to calm down. All this an hour before we were due to go for the scan!

TwilightSurfer · 31/03/2008 11:40

OH now I want to go get a new stroller!!! Waiting til May though...will use it to drag my pool junk & DD to/from the pool before the baby arrives.

My DD is a racer too Dizzy....thus the reason we still use some type of stroller at this point even though she's 4.

I came up with Maggie Nicole or Maggie Nicolette or Maggie Vivianne last night. DH frowned. I HATE bouncing names off of him. I had kind of been thinking about Nikki too but after DH's reaction I guess I'll toss that on the name trash heap.

Doctor's visit in 3 hours. Plus I have library duty at DD's school. Plus I have to visit the UPS store to ship my father my old cell phone...his broke. Plus I need to pick up a list of things at Target. I'm not sure I can manage to get all that done between 9:30 and 12:30 . I'm thinking I might have to drag DD out of bed early to run a few "before school" errands.

Good luck with your scans ladies. Can't wait to see the results later!!!

PetitFilou1 · 31/03/2008 11:48

Libby Have you got handles on your bath. If you hoik yourself out with those there is less strain on your stomach. Mine never recovered really from the 19 month age gap last time. I am really hoping I have a chance to get to post natal pilates this time.

Buckets Sorry if TMI everyone, and not that we've done it lately (!) but have you tried sex scissors style. Side by side facing each other? You don't squish anything that way!

dizzydixies · 31/03/2008 11:49

nicolette -sounds too much like Nicorette the non smoking patch for me I think something with an 'a' ending goes perfectly with Maggie

did you see earlier post before all buggy chat

Maggie Sophia or Maggie Olivia
ignore me though as I always think my suggestions are the best ones

buckets well done you on the putting out! think dh was looking for some this morning as he's gone back to bed, have been juggling being on here and doing essay though as have rather a full week before starting work again on Thurs so he's had nae chance bless him!

great news about your DS getting his place too

dizzydixies · 31/03/2008 11:51

and now we see what buckets area of expertise is

Scissor style... side by side...facing each other... My brain is so slow, I'm still trying to work this one out...

Lying on your side? I have a picture in my head trying to work out how DH jr would stretch if we were laying on our backs side by side .

As you can see, this is NOT my area ... Off to ponder over some lunch. Eww

TwilightSurfer · 31/03/2008 12:31

Dizzy - Sophia and Olivia are on my short list for first names, although they don't sound too bad as middle names. I just like them too much to give them second seat. Funny about the nicroette...yet something else I hadn't thought of.

Sazzles I had to manage a petting zoo recently at DD's preschool. I washed myself almost raw. No animal germs were coming home with me that day.
