Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
PetitFilou1 · 05/04/2008 21:05

LoW It's fine actually. Quite easy to drive (I only have an automatic licence though so does make things easier generally!) It's going to take a little bit of getting used to on the parallel parking/multi storey car park side of things though as it is pretty wide. Ds is in love with it (what is it with boys and cars...)
Whereabouts is your tummy sore? I've started getting aches on my left side now that lo is getting bigger (am coming up for 20 weeks).

TS Get in the bath with your magazine and you'll be sorted! All you need is someone else to run it and put some candles round it!

LadyOfWaffle · 05/04/2008 21:08

Sore at the bottom, about knicker line in the middle. OOooooh, just remember DS got a hotwater bottle for his birthday, I might pinch it

CaptainCaveman · 05/04/2008 21:12

LOW - how scary for you, and like the ladies say, you seem to be handling it very well. I would have taken my sleeping bag and camped out in the hospital until they'd scanned me

We've also been shopping today and I bought....a McDonalds for dinner. NO frigging shop in the world seems to do shorts for pg ladies, unless you count boarder-type trousers. grrrrr. Any clues anyone? Is there some secret ethic that pg women cannot show their legs above the knee?

TS I love Ella Nicole and Maggie generally!

cyteen, hows that curry gone down? We had curry too - but dh bought ours from the takeaway

dizzy oh dizzy, wherefore art thou dizzy? Did dizzy say she wouldn't be around?

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 05/04/2008 21:13

LoW I've been having pains down around that area too. They don't last long but maybe that gives you a little comfort.

TwilightSurfer · 05/04/2008 21:15

Captain I found the perfect shorts for pregnant ladies.....of course they're not maternity. Do you have a Wal-Mart or can you order from Wal-Mart online? I just bought some yesterday and I'm wearing them RIGHT NOW. Let me go find the link.....

CaptainCaveman · 05/04/2008 21:18

Asda over here are owned by Walmart but not sure if they stock the same clothes...

OP posts:
CaptainCaveman · 05/04/2008 21:18

and what are you doing in shorts? It's cold and dark outside (I know, I know, you're 5 hours behind and its prob sunny where you are!)

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 05/04/2008 21:24

These are the long shorts (bermuda style). They come to mid-upper leg. Shorts1

I also bought short shorts in the same brand but can't find them online....

Doesn't matter as I think the bermuda style look better. My waist is now at 36 inches and I purchased the small....checked and there's plenty of room to grow with the elastic waistband.

TwilightSurfer · 05/04/2008 21:25

Actually it's a bit chilly today but I have on two t-shirts and a light weight jacket..so it works. BUT I DO LOVE THESE SHORTS. I'll be purchasing more now that I see online that they have more colors than in the store!!!

TwilightSurfer · 05/04/2008 21:27

Oh...I folded the waist band over (still looks normal) so they sit right at my hips...VERY COMFORTABLE!!!

PetitFilou1 · 05/04/2008 21:34

Captain Caveman Isabella Oliver are doing some shorts I think. And I'm sure I've seen some in my Seraphine catalogue or in Blooming Marvellous ...but might be wrong. I guess they are just quite tricky to tailor for maternity wear. Being a pear shape my hips and thighs and not my best bit so I tend to avoid shorts these days...

I agree, where is Dizzy?

CaptainCaveman · 05/04/2008 21:34

hmm, I may have to purchase some when we visit your shores in 4 weeks and 6 days......

Seen a pair of linen maternity shorts for £12 on the Next website so may get those...

Right, am off to eat ice-cream, catch you tomorrow x

OP posts:
CaptainCaveman · 05/04/2008 21:36

Petit, I just looked on Isabella O....£60 for shorts that I will wear for all of 3 months max . EEk, my poor budget won't stretch that far.

OP posts:
PetitFilou1 · 05/04/2008 21:38

Yep sorry should have warned you! You can always resell them on ebay though... The IO stuff seems to get 3/4 of the original price back - it seems to sell well on there.

TwilightSurfer · 05/04/2008 21:40

OH YES Captain...load up while your here. There will be a Wal-Mart close to WHERE EVER you are in Florida.

PetitFilou1 · 05/04/2008 21:40

Just found some at funmum.com (if you can stand buying something from a website called something that crap!) £22.50 - a bit more reasonable and they look quite good from the picture

TwilightSurfer · 05/04/2008 21:41

The walmart shorts will work for you after you have the baby....and they are cheap cheap cheap by comparison.

PetitFilou1 · 05/04/2008 21:43

And some at cravematernity.co.uk but a bit more expensive at about £40 - I think a bit much. Sorry would do links but about to go to bed. Good luck Captain - the shorts are out there after all!

libbyssister · 05/04/2008 21:49

Hello all

Vintage - the perfume was the Lime, Basil and Manderin one I think. Yum.

Captain - yes, it looks 'likely' that I'm having a boy. Posted one Friday but it's probably got lost in my talk of KKs

I'm off to shop for maternity stuff online...

TwilightSurfer · 05/04/2008 21:59

The magazine I'm reading has this stroller in it. WOW!! I like it!! They sell it in the UK too.

cyteen · 05/04/2008 22:13

LOL TS - cartoon character sticking plasters are the shiz when you're little. I have many fine pictures of a 3 year old me covered in Mr Men band-aids

CC - curry was delish, cheers, although I did that annoying thing where I spent so long cooking that actually wasn't that hungry by the time it was done. DP is washing up now while I vegetate in front of CSI:NY...sweet. Saturday night is curry+tv night

pertelote · 05/04/2008 23:35

Brilliant ideas for my toddler chum, thanks everyone. Will get myself down to the shops tomorrow!

Erm, tomorrow afternoon that'll be I suppose - look at the time! I shouldn't have stayed up to watch The Shipping News but gosh it's a good film. Yawn - good night all...

dizzydixies · 06/04/2008 08:29

Morning All!

snowing here, although tis wet snow thats only just settled so no snowmen for us much to disappointment of dds!

sorry for dramatic disappearing act but I'd forgotten what working late shift was like, ESPECIALLY this week - don't know if anyone has seen national news but we've been a tad busy where we are. Anyway, am shattered, getting home late and then getting up early with the girls, thank goodness tonight is the last one!

TS lovely names, am completely biased towards Ella of course dds school sounds great!

LofW hope both you and miamla doing ok

poppy and hazie did you see the news about Arbroath - thats what I've been dealing with this week - nice eh

to everyone else am sorry but from what I can gather you're all doing well and having lots of lovely movements

petit lovely new car, we went to test drive a mummy bus yesterday too and it was fab, now just need to find the pennies lol

CC when pg with dd1 in 2003 it was a boiling summer and I wore shorts from the mens dept in Tesco and Matalan lol they were like cut off joggy bottoms and the best things ever, dh wears them for decorating now they only cost about £6, not exactly to be worn in public but marvellous for slobbing around the house

ok, the update you're ALL waiting on - the wedding outfit saga part 3!!!! my numerous parcels turned up this week, much to bemusement of dh, and I have tried on and discounted more than enough outfits than I'd care to mention. I know I'm not happy with my physique, pg or otherwise, but WHY do they think just because you need nice matty clothes they can use crappy materical and whack up the price tag!?!? the dresses from picchu are just made of stretchy jersey and they're ok but am not paying £70 for it the top from mamas and papas makes me look like something from little house on the prairie - think smock! there IS however a nice top from Isabella Oliver which I could dress up for wedding and wear again afterwards with jeans or stick on ebay even

isabella oliver

what do you think?!?

dizzydixies · 06/04/2008 08:32

mammoth post sorry

and OMG I forgot to mention am getting my KK delivery today!!!!! should help 'soothe' my still sore mouth

just sent dds upstairs to wake up their dad [evil emoticon] but he is going to work at 11am so time for some quality daughter loving

alittlebitshy · 06/04/2008 09:20

Just to say I've been awol for 10 days so have a lot of reading to do by the look of it.

Missed you all, and hope i've not been struck off for unauthorised absence!!
