I'm off for some ginger tea before the Apprentice starts. I've suddenly come over all nauseous and think i might actually be sick

have a good evening all

Ash80 · 09/04/2008 20:42

Thanks Emmanj,

Heartmum2Jamie · 09/04/2008 20:46

Not quite a valentine's baby here, I knew if I waited till valentine's night I would have missed my chance. T'was 11th Feb here

Ohhh, rasps sound fabulous! Alas, no room here so we rely on wild ones. We actually have a family day out, picnic & all when we go blackberry picking over on Cannock Chase (area of outstanding natural beauty), then I make apple & blackberry pie & jam. We actually started growing our own stuff in the hopes that ds2 would be more willing to eat what he had helped grow, hahahah, how silly was I?! He still won't touch veg of anykind willingly. Thankfully it meant more for us, which we were delighted with!

I have a dear old friend who used to live in Rugely, but is now near Litchfield. I've been to Cannock Chase many times when visiting him. It is a lovely part of the world.

still feeling sick; the ginger tea isn't helping at all!

Emmanj · 09/04/2008 20:50

We're gunna need a new thread again aren't we Heartmum, cant believe how quickly the posts come!! We should all start thinking of names for new thread!!

LolaBella · 09/04/2008 20:51

Juanitad exactly the same plan for maternity leave as you
Break up on the 17th Oct for half term and then plan to officially start Maternity on the 27th (which will be a week before my EDD) Hopefully i can work up until the 17th i will be 38w then. I thought maternity pay would be better too!!

Heartmum glad it's not just me then - it's strange to believe that anything is going on in there at all. We are EDD buddies too, I wonder who will be first

lackaDAISYcal · 09/04/2008 20:51

DS will eat our home grown courgettes, but not shop bought ones!

Off to hug the loo some more. night all.

mummyhill · 09/04/2008 21:07

I am actually being sick on a regular basis as well as constantly feeling sick iyswim. Food is very little and often to try and keep as much of it as possible, strong smells make me heave.

Heartmum2 - I love the Chase as well and agree it is a place of beauty. We have family up by Castle Ring and love to go for a walk when we go to visit them.

firsttimemama · 09/04/2008 22:19

Hello all Nov mummies to be. I've just seen this thread and this may have been covered but can I ask when your babies were concieved - I think it would be Feb - I've just done a PT and it came up postive but we weren't trying and have had sex three times this year . We have got a 20 month old and we've both been ill yadda yadda...

ceebee74 · 10/04/2008 08:51

I am really struggling to keep up with this thread!

Welcome to all the newbies and great news to all of those of you who have had early scans and seen your little bean. Have to say I am quite as there is absolutely no reason for me to have an early scan and 12 weeks seems SO SO long away. I have a scan at about 6 weeks with DS and it really helped as you knew that things were looking positive.

Emmanj/Juanitad - SMP is now £117 per week - not much of a difference I know but every little helps

Everything here is pretty much of a muchness - am now 7+1, still feel sick although I went to Sainsbury's today and bought some Picknmix sweets (cola bottles/bananas etc) and actually eating them slowly (i.e. sucking rather than chewing) does seem to have helped this morning. Actually managed to go out for tea with DH and DS last night and had 2 courses !

Right, should crack on and do some work.

I sobbed and sobbed and sobbed last night.
I lost my front door key and was in discomfort at the time. And it was all a bit too much.
Sorry to jump in and ignore everyone elses posts, and just post my own stuff.
It is my discomfort that is making me miserable. Then on top of that, my diabetes went mad, they thought I had got ketones and we going to admit me and put me on a drip for 2 days. As it turned out, everything was o.k. and I didn't need to be admitted.
Dh has his dream job interview today. He said that he couldn't cope with all of this. He said he didn't want me to be pregnant anymore. And I agreed. I don't want this anymore.
I enjoyed my last pregnancy, even despite struggling with diabetes. But this is killing me.

bubbaz · 10/04/2008 09:32

Dozy I think you should be OK just make sure you wash your hands well after any contact - You can get Alcohol gel in little bottles to put your mind at ease. Avoid getting too close to any sheep if you can as they can carry toxoplasmosis, It says on a website you should not help with lambing or handle newborn lambs or milk Ewes so as long as that wasn't on your things to do list you should be OK. LOL.

Oblomov sorry to hear you are having a hard time but we are all here to listen and help if we can. You are not alone in this.

serendippity · 10/04/2008 09:32

oblomov honey poor you. I can't imagine how hard it is with something as serious as diabites on top of everything else. Have you heard of Antenatal depression? i am not saying you have anything like this, but it is worth bearing in mind and keeping an eye on your sadness. At least you don't have to be admitted to hosp, and can try and rest as much as you can at home. Also, we are all full off hormones at the moment, getting up in the morning can feel overwheliming never mind losing your front door key and being in tonnes of discomfort all the time. Thoughts are with you x
dozymare i think you are supposed to just make sure you don't touch any lambs, there is something that pregnant woman are suseptable (sp!) too. Just make sure you keep rubbing your hands with the alcohol gel stuff you get at farms have a lovely time!
Weclome to new people
I have been sick twice this morning Dd is at nurser so i am off to watch trash on tv and drink lemon and ginger tea.

lackaDAISYcal · 10/04/2008 09:40

oh, oblomov

sorry you are feeling like this, but it should start to get better around 12 weeks, so not long to go now.

I had an awful pregnancy with DD and felt like that a lot of the time. Mostly it was hormones, but I did have an underlying depression (exascerbated by all the hormone stuff) that wasn't going to get better on it's own. Can you talk to your GP about how you are feeling?

dozy, as bubbaz said, avoid any sheep and things'll be fine. I always carry that alcohol gel around with me now (you can buy little handbag-sized ones in boots/Superdrug/asda)

had an awful night last night; nightmares about someone trying to take my kids away from me. Very scary.

Ash80 · 10/04/2008 09:53

Hello all,
I woke up oday. I woke up with a scare today, i found that i was bleeding slightly!
I panicked and managed to get a scan done, apparently all is well.

I have question though, i was prescribed a drug called Duphaston, which is used to prevent miscarriges?? As anyone ever been prescribed this?

dozymare · 10/04/2008 10:00

oblomov I agree with serendipity......I can't remember if I have posted this already or not, but after my MC I fell quite quickly with DS1. I hadn't dealt with my feelings concerning the MC and was very "brave". Actually it was all a front and when I fell PG with DS1 I was diagnoised with antenatal depression (as Serrendipity has suggested). This was also very on (about 7 weeks) and my doctor was fantastic and referred me to a counciller where I was able to deal with my grief. My DH also had was stuggling - with his loss towards to MC, my irratic behaviour and he also said he didn't feel having a baby was right given the circumstances (which of course made me feel a whole lot worse, but bless him men can say the most insensitive things in the excuse of "trying to help"). He also came along to a joint councilling session and we discussed how we both felt towards the PG we had lost, and the PG we were going through. It really really helped and by 20 weeks, I was so much more chilled out.

When PG with DS" I was also very very worried and had a couple of sessions to help me deal with my feelings.

This PG I am almost there - I am trying tos tay as positive as I can although at the moment, I think I have lost my baby. No reason for this at all, but just don't feel PG. Suffered from these feelings during both of my other PG and have a midwives appointment tonight.

I am here if you want to talk, on or of the board as I really do understand where you are.....

Huge Hugs

DM xx
