Didn't want to actually use the 'C' word but that was my thought, too mummyhill.

pinkyminky · 07/04/2008 16:49

Bubbas I may well be visiting that website. I want some attractive bras- I have been wearing these ugly boulder-holder types for nearly 4 years now!

Emmanj · 07/04/2008 16:53

oh im all worried now - ive been wearing underwired the whole time! thanks 4 the advice all, i will go bra shopping this wk x

Oblomov · 07/04/2008 16:54

Pinky, this could spell a disaster for me. I am very small 5'2", used to be a size 12-14, and 32E breats. Hourglass extraordinaire.
Shall I just be done with it and tuck them them into my bridget jones maternity knickers, then ?

bubbaz · 07/04/2008 17:00

If you Google Anita.com make sure you click on the GB site as the main one appears to be German!!
Oblomov don't want to scare you but I was a 32 E 12-14 and 5'2" before DS was born - Everyone said your boobs shrink - I went up to a 36 HH in nursing bras and ended up a 34 F afterwards.

pinkyminky · 07/04/2008 17:01

Fraid so, Oblomov! That's where I keep mine!
You might well be glad of it anyway, bras can tend to dig in as your bump expands- that's why I got the carriwell ones for later on.
Don't panic Emmanj, increased risk does not equate to definite consequence! You do have to be careful, though, throughout pregnancy, breastfeeding and after you stop breastfeeding as your breast get back to normal is another important time.

Pinkali37 · 07/04/2008 17:05

Ok another question which may contain TMI ... i have just noticed some pale yellow discharge. Not itchy or anything like that but previously it has been more pale cream in colour. Any ideas??

dozymare · 07/04/2008 17:11

Early evening All! Busy afternoon again, I don't know how we are going to keep up to date with everyone, I am on here quite a lot but have already missed a lot this pm!!

Autumnlady Welcome to the gang!!!!!!! Most of us are a lot furthe behind thatn we originally guessed, I think you are the biggest gap though!!!!!!!!

Bubbaz How is the bleeding? Are you feeling calmer now you have a scan tomorrow????

thedoctorswife eat whatever you can keep down!! I to have a think for crisps...they have to be walkers Salt and Vinegar or ready salted.......go wqith the flow, especially if it stopes the queasiness......

Everyone else, I have to say I am also big (.) (.) and wore underwired through both my previous PG and plan to do the same this time around....didn't affect BF either as did both for nearly a year......my choice is very simple.........if I didn't wear underwired I would have to pick my bazookas of the floor!!!!!!!

Finally, a question for you all......Is anyone else struggling in normal clothes?!! I am seriously uncomfortable and can't wait to feed and bath the boys so I can stick my PJ's on!!!

DM x

ChilledBunny · 07/04/2008 17:18

On the topic of bra's, blooomin marvelous do a couple of nice maternity underwired ones - I got one when I was about 6 weeks and it's made a huge difference to my comfort in that area! Interestingly, my breasts only hurt when I take it off, so considering sleeping in it now!!!! Not cheap at £30, but had a proper fit and measure to ensure I had one with plenty of room.

Can I ask who's taking supplements and who isn't? I read a lot on here about not worrying about what you eat for the first couple of months, and the midwife said not to worry about supplements as I should get everything from my diet, but what does everyone think? Also, is anyone drinking the 3 glasses of milk a day I've read we should be?

pinkyminky · 07/04/2008 17:19

Pinkali- change in discharge is normal. If you're worried, bring it up next time you see GP or midwife.
DM- I'm in maternitywear full time now.
Underwired doesn't affect breasstfeeding, it's just not very good for your breast tissue.

Pinkali37 · 07/04/2008 17:22

Supplements - I just think if I give the PEA the correct dosage of supplements (i.e. folic acid) then I should do because I can nto guarantee my diet will give it the right amount (especially not if you have ms or nausea).

Thank you pinky... even a slightly yellowish discharge???

pinkyminky · 07/04/2008 17:22

I take supplements, but I have trouble retaining iron so have to take iron habitually, plus my babies are close together so recommended for me.

pinkyminky · 07/04/2008 17:23

Well mine goes quite yellow and more of it, so I would say yes, but I'm no doctor!

bubbaz · 07/04/2008 17:25

Dozymare I have calmed down slightly it doesn't appear to be any worse than before and I am happier now I' getting a scan - To be honest i'm just glad that the doctor was nice, everyone else spoke to me like I was just some panicy parent makeing stuff up!!!
Prob won't sleep much tonight though. I know you can't do anything to stop it happening but it will be nice just to know either way. After last mmc it took over 3 months to get the all clear cause there were bits left.
I have gone into my in between clothes now didn't want to wear maternity just yet but will put my trackies on at every opportunity!!
You have got to be comfy

mummyhill · 07/04/2008 17:25

Maternity wear full time here as well.

Pinkali37 · 07/04/2008 17:25

Thanks Pinky, it's such a lovely discussion ... I will keep an eye on it and class it as normal.. Any change i will ask mw or doctor (probably doc considering mw scared me senseless over blood test results)

dozymare · 07/04/2008 17:28

Christ knows what my breast tissue looks like.....probably wearing underwired during both previous PG is the reason why my boobs are so far south!!!!! As for PG clothes, I am seriously going to wear them asap....I am not even 10 weeks yet for goodness sake...going to get DH to venture into the loft tonight so I can give them an airing!

Pinkali please don't worry to much about change in discharge.....TMI Alert....I have a whitey yellow one sometimes and also seem...erm...quite wet (oh the shame) some days which instantly has me rushing to the loo checking for blood......Definately mention it next time you see the Dr/Midwife.....

DM x

dozymare · 07/04/2008 17:30

that should say "definately mention it of you are worried" but I think it is OK (based on what mine looks like)

As for supplements, I am taking Pregnacare Plus....

Pinkali37 · 07/04/2008 17:32

Thanks dozymare... I think it is ok but will mention it to doc next time.

I'm taking those ones i think. Are they sanatogen?

pinkyminky · 07/04/2008 18:02

That's Pronatal, I think.1q

Oblomov · 07/04/2008 18:08

Bubb/Pinky that anita website does have lots of underwired ones.
And Bravissimo & other sites recommend that :
"You can wear underwired bras when you're pg . The important thing is that they fit properly and the wire doesn't sit on the breast tissue but it should never do that anyway. "
Is that information wrong. Is it really a big no, no ?

serendippity · 07/04/2008 18:11

i'm 7 weeks tomorrow, size 12's still a bit baggy, definatly have a bump tho (have had for about 2 bloody weeks now!) scoping out maternity clothes, bit scared of buying any tho, ya know with it being so below the 12 week mark. I still cannot, cannot believe i threw all of the ones i had with dd away!!
I'm just taking Folic acid btw.
Chilledbunny- i am attempting the milk thing (i hate milk, this is not easy) on cereal etc, am also drinking copious amount of decaf tea with milk, does this count?
Also stuffing myself with fruit and veg as much as i can yesterday i had:
4 oranges
1 bowl of mange tout and green beans
3 runner beans
1 apple
quarter of a cumumber
5 radishes
and 1 avacado
This is miraculous for me, i am usless with healthy stuff!
Today tho, i've been feeling rather green so: toast, maple and pecan danish, cheese sandwhich etc...

Ash80 · 07/04/2008 18:13

hi all, I just got back from my early scan and it seems i had got the dates wrong and my little is actually 6 weeks and 3 days instead of 7 weeks. I got to hear the heartbeat though which was lovely

Ash80 · 07/04/2008 18:14

oops i meant to type 'my little pea'

tegan · 07/04/2008 18:20

hello ladies, i haven't been here for a while so thought i would check in.

my boobs are nearly touching the floor, i seriously need maternity clothes but am resisting, feel really tired and crave spicy transformer crisps and pasta.

have been booked in with cmw and have to ring next week for a scan date.

when cmw came out i was surprised how things have really changed in the last 4 years and the amount of tests they do now.
