mummyhill I to am on 3rd PG and people keep commenting that I look PG..actually have to agree as I really do...what i find really really weird is that how above my belly button my tummy is rock solid but below it is jelly-tastic still!!!!!!!! I am guessing that is everything moving up and around a bit??! Someone who was on their 3rd also said the same!

I'm on my 4th pregnancy and I look like blardy Giant Haystacks now. [grumpy face]

Anyway. Just a quickie from me today (littlest DS is still poorly with a cold)....

it looks like we might have an offer coming in for the house! First time buyers viewed at the weekend and have told the agent they want to put an offer in but they will be meeting with a mortgage advisor first to finalise how much they can borrow and therefore how much they can offer!! Fingers crossed!

The agent asked about the house we had our eye on and I told him that it looks as though it's come off the market. So, he's offered to drive over there today and tell them that we're very keen, we have a buyer and that if they've come off the market, they can go back on with them and they'll handle it all in-house for them. I thought that this was really good of him but obviously if they agree, the vendor will be getting two lots of commission out of it. Not that I care - as long as we sell!!!

Hanaflower, I work full time and DS is at nursery. I drop him off at 8 and then pick him up at 5.45, I have to drive him to nursery, then go to the tram stop, get tram to work - crowded usually and the same in reverse at evening. My MS has been horrendous but I must say that today I feel quite well, just a few pangs of nausea - trying not to worry about it. Only one person at work knows about the pgy, I have had 4 mcs so I don't want to say too much until I have had a few more scans. I have another one next wednesday and have to go for a blood test tomorrow morning. I hate lying to people about where I am and am just blagging it a bit at the moment. I have had days where I have sat at my desk and thought I was going to be sick everywhere and fall asleep - not sure whether anyone has noticed actually!

SoExcited · 03/04/2008 14:16

Emmanj - I'm guessing you're a teacher then? So am I - I go back to work on Monday. I've been so lazy all holiday, and managed to get very little done. The idea of being back at work and trying to keep it a secret worries me a bit. I teach in an independent school, so some days I work 11 hours

I also do Duke of Edinburgh run the climbing club, and am supposed to be sailing once a week for the next few weeks... It's going to be tricky. Luckily I managed to get the hospital to give me a scan at 11+2 so then I will tell work - said I needed one as early as pos, because of doing risky things at work, and it worked!

So far feeling better today - just washed the car so definitely the most energetic i've been in a couple of weeks!

mummyhill · 03/04/2008 14:40

I worked two jobs with my first pregnancy and didn't give up work till I had 4 weeks to go.

Second time round I was doing 25hrs a week evenings and weekends at the supermarket.

I need to increase my hours to qualify for smp and am seriously considering asking to transfer to checkouts as it will be easier on my back etc.

Mummyhill - you have me worried..can you only claim SMP if you work full time? See the link above, I think any employee is entiltled to it provided they have been in the job 25 weeks or more......does anyone know for sure??

I told my boss today. Seeing as I will be going to Kings every other tuesday and will not be in at all, it seemed a necessity. He was so nice.
No one could tell I was pregnant. But at only 7 weeks that is hardly surprising.

Oblomov · 03/04/2008 15:00

God I am so tired. Like permanently ! I am off to lie down guys, will see you later.

dozymare · 03/04/2008 15:07

me to Oblomov....absolutely shattered! Wish I could go for a snooze - is your DC in bed also??!!!

mummyhill · 03/04/2008 15:10

You don't have to be working full time but you do have to earn an average of £87.50 per week to qualify so I need to increase to about 16 hrs a week.

mummyhill · 03/04/2008 15:14

If in doubt go to Department of work and pensions website and search for details for smp.

Emmanj · 03/04/2008 15:45

Yes soexcited I am a teacher - teach Reception so its very hands on and demanding. Im most deff making the most of the time off, poor you going back on Monday, Im off for another week, Easter was early this year.
Also absolutely shattered oblomov and dozymare, i keep thinking why am i so tired, im not doing anything particularly strenuous....but then i remember all that stuff thats going on inside!

Oblomov · 03/04/2008 15:55

I am back. Have been asleep for an hour. Feel so much better. It is amazing how tired we are all getting. I suppose, like Emmaj says, it is all that is being made inside.
Ds(4) was downstairs playing happily and watching tv. Suppose I better take advantage of his wonderful nature now.......how will I be with 2 ???????
No more miday naps for me , come 7 months time.

bubbaz · 03/04/2008 17:18

I lay down with DS this afternoon to try and persuade him to have a nap. I woke up an hour later and I don't think he had been to sleep at all ooops felt better for it though. I'm finding i'm more tired this time round but I was working full time last time???

juanitad · 03/04/2008 17:33

ooh, silly me, spoke too soon. I said yesterday that so far so good, no sickness yet. I must admit I was starting to hope that I might be one of those lucky ladies who doesn't get so much as a whiff of morning sickness! But I woke up this morning feeling decidedly dodgy. Felt like I had a hangover until about lunchtime - after that I felt a lot better. It makes sense, as lots of people have been saying that morning sickness kicks in at about 7-8 weeks and I am about 7 and a half now. I think I need to sort out what I'm eating - at the moment I'm stuffing myself at mealtimes, till I feel really full and bloated, then not eating anything till the next meal, by which time I'm famished! I think I need to adopt the little and often approach.

Anyway, sorry for ranting on about food, I'm a little obsessed at the moment!

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the sunshine wherever you are.

mad4mybaby · 03/04/2008 19:34

ive just scoffed a 150g bag of crisps all by myself. Oh dear!

"Lolabella"
That is why I asked if you had a urine test- there may well have been keytones in your urine if you were not managing to eat or drink- it's one of the things they test for if you have hyperemesis- BUT- you can get the same sort of symptoms for a short while if you have a bug when you are pregnant. Make sure you keep a glass of water on the go the whole time- just take sips- you are probably just dehydrated. Glad you are feeling better.
Anyone else getting ridiculously sleepy in the middle of the day? I put dd down for her nap, go downstairs and just nod off.I seem to have no control over it. Poor ds must be wondering what's going on!
Yay for the rice and cheese possie! But I have to say I love mackerel and beetroot too. Anyone else finding themselves eating handfuls of rocket?
Also I look really pregnant, too. No idea how I'm going to keep it quiet for the next few weeks.

dozymare · 03/04/2008 20:18

OMG. Please no more mention of cheese and rice - bleurgh...thought we were going to get a night of without mentioning that

(Yet notice that despite making me wanna gag, I can't help but recall in my post!)

pinkyminky · 03/04/2008 20:20

Sorry Lolabella meant to do bold for the name there- teach me to try and type without my glasses!

pinkyminky · 03/04/2008 20:26

Dozy you won't be interested in my mackerel risotto recipe then

ceebee74 · 03/04/2008 20:28

Mmm - cheese and rice sounds quite delicious actually. Had pasta, mayonnaise and cheese last night for tea and it really hit the spot. Tonight's tea is Dominos pizza though which I am waiting to arrive - am ravenous.

I seem to be craving cheesy and salty foods for some reason - the thought of chocolate turns my stomach (and believe me, before I got pg, I was a 'chocolate everyday' kind of girl) - anyone else found this?

Hanaflower - I work 4 days (8 hours a day) each week and am managing ok at the moment to hide it. It helps having an office job as you can stare at your PC and pretend for a while. But, having said that, I don't feel too bad at the moment - whereas with DS, I was completely wiped out, couldn't eat a thing and ended up losing a stone in about 6 weeks before the sickness went.

But, I had to do a 2-hour round trip today to one of our other offices and I am knackered now - not sure if it is worth telling my manager so I don't have to do that anymore (but that isn't fair on my colleagues is it??).

Hi to everyone else - doesn't time drag when you are counting the days until that first scan?????

mad4mybaby · 03/04/2008 20:29

cant remember who was with me with having acne and pregnancy but i saw a naturopath the other day as it was the only route i hadnt gone down plus am so desperate to clear my skin as had enough of it. anyway it was such a waste of money, the guy just wrote aload of stuff down which i already know.

He thinks its down to hormone imbalance which i think i agree with as it only started after having ds. I was using agnus castus before got pg and it was helping (good for hormone imbalances apparantly) anyway stopped when ttc and he told me to start using it again. Have looked online and it says not to use in pg. What do i do? I said are you sure? (he knew i was pg) and he said yes. I havent had any...

divedaisy · 03/04/2008 20:34

Please NO MORE MENTION of cheese and rice - it sound revolting, and even if it is nice, my stomach churns at the thought of it. I do like small amounts of risotto - but I thought that was rice and cream?? Too much of it makes me feel ill - even when not preg.

Yeah!! Eastenders throw-back to the 1990s!! Where did Bianca get all her kids from?

I don't know if I feel preg still or not... I've been steadily bleeding all week. I had hoped on Monday that it was easing... but no such thing... not too many cramps... and while I still have to wear a pad and there is some blood on it, it looks mainly old, and there is some reaching the pad.. I'll find out tomorrow at 12 when I return for my repeat scan....PLEASE GOD LET MY BUMP STILL BE THERE WITH A HEARTBEAT xx

Saying all that, I'm calm; there's nothing I can do to stop it. I just want my Bump to stay!
