Twinkling - that is a really lovely way to think of it - precious time with your DD. It sounds a terrible thing, and I hope the next year is OK for you and that it doesn't cause any problems for you. Take care of your self and give your DD an extra special BIG hug. xx

divedaisy · 02/04/2008 22:25

On the subject of tea. i am a tea-oholic I'm afraid. I don't just drink cup fulls of the stuff, but I buy the biggest mugs (more like buckets) and drink those. But in pregnancy I go straight off it as I hate the taste of it!! Weird or what!!! I go onto Ginger, Peppermint etc infusion things instead which are OK

juanitad · 02/04/2008 22:45

Hi all,

Have been off the radar for a few days - been in Barcelona since Friday. I had a lovely time, although feel thoroughly knackered now. I have tried to read through all the posts since I last logged on, but it takes sooo long, so I tried to skim through them to get the gist of what has been going on. Twinkling, I was so sorry to hear your news. I hope others are feeling ok and not too sick! I still haven't started feeling sick yet, although I am hungry all the time, and daren't step on the scales after eating my way through 5 days in Barcelona!!

Take care everyone

pinkyminky · 02/04/2008 23:10

Oh Twinkling that is so sad. I am glad you can take comfort in your DD. You sound like an amazingly strong person.

Ceebe- I know, I know. I was amazingly lucky last time in that there were only two other people in my ward room for the first night, then just one. We could just hear the constant wailing of other babies at the distant end of the ward and thanked our lucky stars. I think I would have pushed for a room if it had been otherwise- you may be able to book one at some hospitals if you have an elcs. I really missed my DS. I missed him the weeks I spent in hospital during the pregnancy - I had never been away from him before. On the other hand- he had a great time with Grannie and Grandad and Daddy! Children have an amazing ability to just go with the flow, don't they?

Had my booking appointment today and it went well. I have my scan booked for 16th April. I have a suspicion that I may have to leave you ladies for the October club, esp. as I will probably have bub at 39 weeks, but we shall see.
I cannot get over how much better I feel. Considering I could not even swallow my own saliva (TMI) with my last pregnancy, I am eating meals, getting out and about, feeling a bit nauseous but wow, this I can cope with.

divedaisy · 02/04/2008 23:14

For those of you who were asking about the metallic taste - to me it tastes either like I've licked too many stamps or envelopes, or that (for some strange reason) I've stuck my tongue onto the pos and neg of a battery and have a slight tingly thing!!!! Where did I get the battery thing - when have I ever done that!!!BLEUGH!

pinkyminky · 03/04/2008 01:45

Lolabella- MS when it's severe often comes with
diarrhoea. Did the midwife do a urine test? You make want to make sure you are getting enough fluids. Bean won't be starving- just you! Hope you feel better.

mummyhill · 03/04/2008 07:43

Twinkling - Huge hugs to you sweetheart. Have had to watch a friend go through this and know it is not a good time. You are spot on with the numbers. Sonographers are so highly trained these days and will often spot problems way before the consultant but as consultant gets paid more they end up giving you the bad news. It is good to find out as early as possible and to get yourself sorted out as the risks can be sky high if this is not picked up early enough. Take care of yourself.

cricri · 03/04/2008 07:56

Fairy Posted for you in Emmsy's waiting room, but just wanted to say again how sad I am to hear your news. Your attitude under the circumstances is amazing - I'm not sure I could be that strong. Thinking of you today and (((hugs)))

Oblomov · 03/04/2008 09:03

Twinkling, I am so sorry, I have been thinking about you lots over the last few days.
I too thought your post was lovely, about your DD.
We are all sending you big hugs.

Oblomov · 03/04/2008 09:04

Hello cricri, how are you ?

serendippity · 03/04/2008 09:12

morning

Fairy you sound so strong, enjoy your dd. I don't know much about molar pg, so not really much advice, just take care of yourself

Lolobella- eurgh you poor thing! i have had diarrhoea also actualy, two night ago, all night, not sure what that was all about!

Woke up at 6.00am feeling huugly sick, but feeling better now had a cup of (real!) tea I didn't go off tea with dd, and not this time either, in fact it seems to help the nausua
Hope everyone's feeling ok today. Gosh the easter holidays seem long when you're feeling hormonal, nausuas and generaly bleugh

mummyhill · 03/04/2008 09:16

Easter hols are a nightmare when feeling this sick. I am glad I can at least still send ds to nursery. DD will read/watch telly for a bit and let me rest if I really need her to but can't wait to get her back to school on Monday.

cricri · 03/04/2008 09:18

Hi Oblomov, I'm fine thanks. Less nausea yesterday, which was good (not that it's been bad compared with some on here), but that set me off worrying that things are going wrong. I know ms fluctuates and I'm determined to stay positive - 2 and a half weeks until next scan
I'm also struggling to work out what I want to eat - whoever mentioned rice and cheese that was a fab idea as I've had that for the past two nights running I normally love my food too so this lack of appetite is really annoying!

dozymare · 03/04/2008 09:22

oh purllleassseeee - not the rice and cheese thing again!!!! Can't understand that one at all, the thought makes me want to...erm you know what!!!! HOwever, I am more than happy to dine on peppered mackrel and Beetroot every night for supper......Anyone else??!

Also please add your predictions to our other list!!! LInk below (hopefully!)

cricri · 03/04/2008 09:26

DM I'm with you on the beetroot (yum), but with mackerel?!

SoExcited · 03/04/2008 09:54

Twinkling, such sad news and wishing you luck. Hope everyone else is doing OK.

I'm determined today to try to stick to good snacks - I've been feeling quite rubbish, and have to eat every 2 hours. Was talking to DH last night, and he said I should try to stick to Low GI snacks that will stop you getting a blood sugar spike and give you slow even release instead. So I'm trying to cut the fruit juice and pop out, and stick to granary bread, houmous, crisps and yogurt as my snacks. We shall see if it has any effect...

LolaBella · 03/04/2008 10:38

Hi all,
Firstly, Twinkling, i was so sorry to hear your news, i was waiting for your post. I wish you all the best for the future and, if you feel you can, it would be nice to hear how you are getting on in the future.

On another note, i am starting to feel slightly better today, i have managed to eat something (the first thing in four days) so im very happy - so is my bean too i think

Just a little question - has anybody's urine turned a funny colour? Mine has gone bright orange (sorry TMI). Im' not sure if it's because iv been a little dehydrated with being so poorly but i think i noticed it before too - strange

Creena · 03/04/2008 10:44

Just popping in quickly - I wanted to see if there was any news from Twinkling.

Twinkling - I'm so very, very sorry to hear your news, . I agree with what has been said already - you are an amazingly strong, brave and positive person. The next 6 months will be hard but you'll have your gorgeous DD to get you through it. I also hope that this was identified much earlier than usual and so you don't end up waiting the whole 6 months. Huge hugs for you - we're all thinking of you and we're all here for you. {HUGS}

Tinkerisdead · 03/04/2008 10:53

I came on here for a good ole moan to those who understand. Read Twinkling's post and I'm ashamed of myself really. What a horrible situation to be in, this whole thread is a journey for everyone on here. The sad stories have really touched me and I know I should be grateful that I feel so horrendous but its hard. sickness, dizziness, lack of sleep and food tasting horried its so hard to be grateful when you feel so awful and you still cant believe theres a little bean in there.

So im off to the midwife this afternoon for booking in and I'm going to try so so hard to feel positive about all these symptoms. To think of all the people who have dropped off this post with such sadness and remember how lucky I am feel like i've been run over

mad4mybaby · 03/04/2008 10:56

ive worked out having cheese and crackers before i go to bed is helping sickness. Something have to do with the protein i guess. My ms is all over the place, sometimes im fine, others awful. Im dreading 7-8 weeks in case it gets worse.

Something that is really hacking me off at the moment that i just have to get off my chest. My sister keeps coming out with comments like, oh how on earth are YOU going to cope with 2. 2 cost so much more that 1 you know. If you think your tired now, wait till you 2.

Im so fed up with it. Its not as if she has 6 kids, she has 2. Plus she only had 1 at one point aswell! Sick of all that!!

Mad 4 if you think the comments are bad about going from 1 to 2 you should hear the comments about going from 2 to 3. You will have tom learn to just switch off like we all did in our 1st pregnancies listening to all the old wives tales. At the end of the day I am sure it is just jealousy.

I am going to phone hospital again today and hopefully get hold of the booking clerk to arrange my 12 week scan. So far I have been passed from pillar to post.

mummyhill · 03/04/2008 11:40

I work part time stacking the fridges at my local supermarket. 4 hours 2 nights a week and 5 hours on Saturday. By the time I get home I am shattered and ache, most of my colleagues already know cause of health and safety.

To be honest though I can't hide the fact that I am pregnant cause I am huge.

Emmanj · 03/04/2008 12:27

twinkling - thinking of you, and how incredibly brave you have been. Look after yourself.

i think i will try this cheese and cracker thing beofre bed as im waking up so nauseus, im on school holidays at the moment so i can take my time getting up and dealing with the queasiness...but it will be a different story when i have to go back to work! Im dreading it!
