@Spareincoming ok that’s reassuring to hear! Yeah honestly as much as I don’t want to medicate her, if that’s what it takes for her to not be in discomfort and give me a bit more of a life back then you bet I’m gonna go for it! Thanks for the advice :)

GreenAventurinee · 11/02/2024 17:46

Hi everyone. Just checking in. Baby girl is 15 weeks tomorrow! Crazy how fast it’s gone. We are still waiting on the 12 week jabs. She will be having them next Monday (when she’s 16 weeks). They were pushed back due to Xmas and last Monday the nurse was sick from work so they were cancelled. Any one else had late 12 week jabs? 8 week ones were ok - little more sleepy and grizzly that evening but back to normal soon enough!

Thack · 11/02/2024 19:38

@GreenAventurinee are you me in disguise?!
Same here. Had 8 week jabs at 11/12 weeks because of Xmas and due the 12 week ones this week at 16wo.
LO is already grizzly this week, I think they are on another leap. All the fun of the fair!!!

JoyApple · 11/02/2024 22:17

We are in the same boat as well. 12 weeks jab baby will be having at 16 weeks. We got delayed due to Xmas etc.

My lo is around 15 weeks. She seems to have jumped from 1 hour awake time to 2 hour awake times،, but is really struggling with over stimulation and falling down for a nap, especially on weekends when house is busy and she's over excited. Any tips?

I think the huckleberry app thing would probably help us but it's pricey

Thack · 12/02/2024 10:41

@JoyApple there is a free version of the Huckleberry app. It won't advise you specifically but it's good for seeing patterns and will give generic articles based on baby's age.

foodislife1 · 13/02/2024 17:49

Might get completely shot down for this...but has anyone considered or don't any sleep training at this age?

My little one is 14 weeks and is waking every hour for the second half of the night. I've tried to put her down for naps on time and look for sleepy cues but nothing seems to be working. I also have a todddler who needs attention so baby cant always nap if toddler needs feeding etc.

Any advice?

foodislife1 · 13/02/2024 17:50

Sorry I should also add, she's BF so is always grazing and on boob. I think this is part of the issue

JoyApple · 13/02/2024 21:36

@foodislife1 totally understand why you'd want to. Have you tried a dummy? Or perhaps a dream formula feed?

Crazybrowncow · 13/02/2024 23:08

Just catching up! @foodislife1 I also have a toddler and feel your pain! I would say I am doing some sleep training without realising it, dc2 is left to grizzle longer and quite often goes off.

We have Chickenpox atm (my 3yo) dc2 is 14 wks and due his 12wk jabs. The gp said it was reasonable to delay the jabs given he may also get pox. But the incubation period is 21 days so he'd be 4wks delayed, has anyone else had a bigger gap in between the two lots, I want to make sure it's ok to be that long.

foodislife1 · 14/02/2024 11:15

@JoyApple I did give. dummy last night which much helped until it fell out. I t hi no she just needs to learn how to keep it in.
Last night it was every 2.5hrs...so better at least

@Crazybrowncow you're right. I'm always so quick to pick up but letting them be for a while is going to have to be the new norm.
My son and an additional week between jabs and was fine. I remember nurse saying it's ok if they are late but they cannot be early x

foodislife1 · 15/02/2024 20:12

Anyone starting to see the beginnings of the 4 month regression? I'm pretty sure we're there - naps totalled 1 hour for the whole day :/

Thack · 15/02/2024 20:35

I have wondered if we are there. Naps are shorter and we're getting the hourly wakes after 4am too.

I sort of hope this is it, I do not want it to get worse!!
3yo is more of a problem. Once or twice a week they are awake for an hour or two in the night. Those nights are awful.

12 week jabs today at 16 weeks. A little grizzly earlier but not awful so far.

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 15/02/2024 22:41

Mine has been impossible to keep asleep from 4am and napping for 45 mins since 8 weeks, just turned 10 weeks now. Not looking forward to it getting worse 🙈

reememberly · 15/02/2024 23:22

15 weeks here, feel like I’m just waiting for 4mo regression to hit. Does it usually come on gradually?

Think you said it’s your little one’s op tomorrow @Spareincoming? Will have you both in our thoughts.

Spareincoming · 16/02/2024 01:52

@reememberly yep, later today. Thank you for the good thoughts.
We’re already on the ward as it’s gone from being an afternoon surgery to first thing surgery which is great as I was dreading a day time fasting baby!

Which is also why I’m awake now as I’ve got to do a 2am feed to have LO 6 hours fasted by 8.30am. We do not like this time!
Really hoping this hospital stay won’t trigger the 16 week regression!

@Thack one of ours has started getting up at 4.30 for about an hour. It’s torture as I get them back to bed and 15 minutes later, like clockwork, Lo wants a 5.45am feed.

We’re going to be 2 weeks delayed on the 16 week jabs as they shouldn’t be done in the ten days before surgery and were due last Wednesday.

Thack · 16/02/2024 03:07

All the best with it @Spareincoming
6 hours fasting sounds like forever!

My big one flits back and to between their bed and mine. Obviously I want them in their bed. They always ask to swap back juuust as I'm falling asleep. Torture.
Then it takes the mick when I wake them for nursery and they have a massive strop that they don't want to get up. Full screaming/ crying/ closing the curtains.... Like I know how you feel love!!!! Now get up!!!

Alloveragain3 · 16/02/2024 09:30

Thinking of you @Spareincoming
Hopefully all goes very smoothly and you're back home in no time.

DollyGx · 16/02/2024 09:59

@Spareincoming all the best for today - sending big hugs ❤️

foodislife1 · 16/02/2024 10:36

@Spareincoming
All the best for today xx

Spareincoming · 16/02/2024 12:31

Thanks lovelies; a little update, LO went down at 8.30 and was just starting to get cross about the lack of breakfast so the timing was great!
We’re back on the ward now, Lo is doing some amazing snoring which is a good sign. I think the surgeon will come round later and give me an update of what they’ve managed to do.

OP posts:
Thack · 16/02/2024 13:36

Great to hear @Spareincoming ! How are you doing with it all?

Spareincoming · 16/02/2024 15:30

@Thack I’m holding up ok, bit wobbly when I had to leave LO once the initial anaesthetic was done but given it’s been a bit chaotic with the change of hospital and sorting child care, everything feels ok.

The surgeon hasn’t been round yet so I don’t know if this is still the plan but when we spoke with the team this morning pre-op, they wanted to get the wee one home ASAP, so we could only be here 3 days instead of the 4 or 5 we’d been expecting. I think they called it enhanced recovery. Getting home early would be amazing.

I’ve just found out from another Mum that you can order from “just eat” with delivery to the hospital entrance!
It’s not available at all where we live so I may have to try it for dinner!

reememberly · 16/02/2024 16:27

So good to hear these positive updates. Hope the surgeon gets to you soon. Definitely order yourself a treat for dinner, you must be wrung out.

Spareincoming · 16/02/2024 20:14

Well Just Eats was an adventure, main course from one place, pudding from another! I’m a convert!

The lovely surgeon has been round and he’s managed to do more than originally expected to both the epiglottis and pharynx so that’s a win. Our usual consultant will review in 3 months and see if the structure around the Larynx requires further surgery but the priority was today’s surgery.
He was with the registrar who is working the weekend, ideally they’d like us out on Sunday morning, LO just has to behave!

Thack · 16/02/2024 21:01

@Spareincoming that's a great update! How is LO doing? Have they been able to feed normally? (Please excuse my ignorance)

I'm also a just eat virgin.
It boggled my family when they visited and I laughed when they said they'd get an Uber to the hotel .... Not around by me you won't! Ha.
