Yep @FlyingHighFlyingLow exactly the same. She’s so grumpy, evenings seem to be worse. I just spend everyday wishing time away and wanting her to be older, I feel so bad but it’s just not enjoyable atm.

@LeeanneD11 that is a bit much! After ten minutes of so you wouldn't be getting much at all.

Little and often will boost supply. Make your breasts think it's a hungry little baby, not a big sleepy one!

Maybe try 6mins max with at least 5mins between attempts (or better wait half an hour). You can increase it from there.

All this said, I have no qualifications, just had to express when DC1 didn't latch. Do what is right for you 💐

Ah thank you so much I appreciate this a lot I think it's best to try little & often first and then work my way up with this breastfeeding , xx

Hey 👋🏻
Nancie is currently 11 weeks old! Weighs 10lb 12 and in 0-3 month clothes, just gone up to size 2 nappies and they feel huge! But 1s are too tight now.
We are still ebf, although I had to give a bottle of expressed milk last week as I was so poorly I couldn’t really eat at all, freezer stash to the rescue and she actually took a bottle to my surprise, my others refused the bottle 😂
She is half way through her hip dysplasia treatment and it’s definitely improving so hoping to be out of this in no time!
hope you’re all enjoying your little babies 😍

My little one is 11 weeks old too & weighs 11lb and in size 3 nappies and they are big too haha 😂😂

Your little girl is gorgeous , I'm glad everything is going smoothly for you both xx

Thack · 01/02/2024 03:57

Lovely update @Mrsrobinsonx how are you doing yourself?

Tonight's 3am club was brought to me by sick all over the cot and self, followed by another night 💩 when being cuddled back to sleep.

I miss sleep but as this is my last baby I still love this age.

Hello to anyone awake too!

Travellingislife · 01/02/2024 05:04

@FlyingHighFlyingLow @DollyGx yep here too 😣
Unusually fussy and needs to be entertained more, not sleeping as well and generally grumpier. She is 11 weeks and apparently in a leap according to Wonderweeks.
Yesterday was the worst so far, lots of crying and I couldn’t settle her, normally she doesn’t cry and is an easygoing baby. Hopefully we’re out of it soon though as she slept well and just ate once at 1:30am, she is still sleeping now but I’m awake of course..
“It shall pass”.. I keep repeating this

Travellingislife · 01/02/2024 06:51

Has anyone got any tips on how to get the LO’s to take the bottle if they’re exclusively bf? I’ve not got any luck with bottle feeding, my LO took the bottle when she was a few weeks old but then stopped and is still refusing. I kept trying everyday but have given up and now try randomly every few days, when she is hungry, when she isn’t, in different settings, different teats etc. Even though she is starving and I’m not in she is refusing the bottle. It stresses me out as I really want my hubby to be able to help out.
I’ve not tried Dr Browns tears though and I’ve heard they’re good so may give them a go but I’ve not got my hopes up.

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 01/02/2024 10:03

Thank god it's not just me. Also suddenly impossible to transfer to crib even at night! Been having to try work out how to settle in the crib. If I manage he will sleep 10-7 waking up once. If not I'm holding him all night! Won't even settle if I place him next to me to cosleep, got to feed him side lying to sleep in that position.

Thack · 01/02/2024 10:15

The 11 week leap is so fussy! It took a few days but we are through it thankfully. It is a phase!

Baby is now grabbing at things more, being more vocal and alert and yes wanting more attention/play and napping less in exchange.

Travellingislife · 01/02/2024 13:08

I’ve not tried the cot yet, my ds is still using it but need to get him a toddler bed, will do it this weekend so I can start getting dd used to sleeping in the cot.
So far she is settling well in her snuzpod at night and babynest during the day. Well, except for now during this phase..
We’ve had 3 20-30 min naps so far today from her wakeup at 6am, and lots of fussiness. Hopefully she’ll get a big nap in now but I think the 2-3h naps are long gone 😩

DollyGx · 01/02/2024 14:05

Sorry to hear others are going through the 11 week fussiness, however it does make me feel better that I’m not alone! We’re on day 3 of extreme fussiness and I am exhausted 💀

LeeanneD11 · 01/02/2024 14:08

@Thack I'm the 3am club too , my little one is always awake at 3am and then goes back down till 6.30, just in time for school run so works perfectly for us xx

foodislife1 · 01/02/2024 21:18

My 12 week old is definitely fussing!! Won't sleep for more than 20mins during the day and won't be put down at night. Mental.

@Travellingislife I've been trying the bottle for a while. The only brand she will take is Lansinoh and only occasionally- I.e will drink 1 oz on 1 day out of 7. It's really sporadic.
Have you tried leaving the room/going upstairs. If baby can smell you're around, it's less likely to work.

My one is exactly the same but 11 weeks old , I feel like crying in the corner , cause he won't sleep and when he does it's for 20 mins and cries cause his so unsettled and won't settle on me either 😭😭😭 xx

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 01/02/2024 22:01

Mine is only 8 weeks today so I'll look forward to this getting worse 🙈😅 I've noticed today in a wrap sling he will sometimes get into a second cycle if I rock and shush when he starts to stir - I'm sure he's now realised his oversight and will refuse it tomorrow! For bottles we bought bottles which matched the dummy we gave him and so far (grand total of twice) he is taking it. I'm not looking forward to his jabs next week!

PinkPlantCase · 02/02/2024 08:44

We give our DD about 30ml of expressed milk in a bottle once a week to keep her used to it.

With DS the health visitor advised to do it more often, every other day so they don’t forget. But it was really important that he could take a bottle because of when I was going back to work.

We have Lansinoh bottles and don’t use a dummy.

Alloveragain3 · 03/02/2024 10:48

My 11 week old hasn't wanted to fall asleep at all recently. She'll have a big nurse and then just stare at me like "OK, what's next?" Before, she'd be out like a light!

I woke up last night with another clogged duct (wtf), but a different one this time. I was trying to get DD to feed lots but it wasn't helping and by morning my boob was a rock. Well, I checked for any little white specks of milk blocking the nipple and there was one. As soon as I squeezed it out, milk spurted across the room like a cannon. I had to quickly grab DD and put her on before the sheets were soaked!

Does anyone know what causes these little hard bits to block the duct?

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 03/02/2024 14:24

I've had several, but often a 'blocked duct' isn't actually blocked, its inflammation similar to having a blocked nose. I've had multiple like that. Really hurts!

Thack · 03/02/2024 20:59

The white bit is called a bleb. Can be from a poor latch, I've had them in the post but I'm not sure of the cause.
I had noticed that I'm more prone to blocked ducts when I'm run down. It might have been a coincidence but make sure you are looking after you too!

LeeanneD11 · 03/02/2024 22:08

Hi everyone so I'm pumping every 5-6 mins with 5 mins apart but I've been gettin nothing for the last few days , do I give up or keep trying ?

I have such an unsettled little boy who was crying all day yesterday from 8am-4pm , he was trying to sleep but woke up 10 mins later, I was at breaking point yesterday I wanted to cry so badly

We are currently on apitamil milk but have now been prescribed the anti reflux .

I am thinking to whether to change his milk? Or keep trying with the breastfeeding

Does anyone have suggestion or advise please xx

WriMum22 · 04/02/2024 07:04

@LeeanneD11 has he ever been put on a prescribed milk. There are so many different ones too that if one prescribed milk doesn’t work they can switch to another that’s free from cows milk and they could take to that great. It sounds like he could have a cows milk allergy

No first time , he gets very unsettled during feeds and after feeds. He hasn't shown a rash yet for milk allergies, but maybe you could be right about the milk allergies we are waiting for a dietitian appointment to check if he is xx

LeeanneD11 · 05/02/2024 04:32

Hi mummy's

Does have anyone know what you can give babies for constipation my little one has been up since 2am screaming in pain I did the bicycle motion , gentle belly massage and holding him upright to help but nothing has worked for us 😭😭 he will be 12 weeks old tomorrow xx

DollyGx · 05/02/2024 09:33

@LeeanneD11 aww it’s horrible seeing them like that :( what about a little bit of cooled boiled water? Only maybe an ounce?
