Just wondered how everyone is doing as September draws to a close? Missing hearing from you all.

My big boy has started nursery and is settling well. We’re hoping to be able to do a PGD cycle before Xmas for a summer baby next year. Please keep everything crossed for us.

Hi @AnnieApple123 !!! Everything's good on my end :) 8 weeks PP now! I wish you all the luck in the world for a summer baby 💙🤞🏻

AnnieApple123 · 30/09/2023 20:58

Thanks @sally16 . How is your DS doing?

Desperatelyboredhousewife · 30/09/2023 21:00

Hi @AnnieApple123 I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Keeping everything crossed for your summer baby. I dropped off the radar a bit due to a high risk pregnancy and a traumatic birth, but our little one was born safely by EMC on the 31st July. It has been a massive adjustment with a tricky recovery but I’d do it a million times over for her. Hope everyone else is well!

overwork · 30/09/2023 21:02

Oh I wish you all the luck in the world Annieapple, that would be the best conclusion to this thread.
We're 9.5 weeks in with a little boy. The social smiles are coming a lot more frequently now. He's great. Also Surprised myself by taking to breastfeeding, infact that's what we're doing right now.
Good to hear from you

AnnieApple123 · 30/09/2023 21:07

@Desperatelyboredhousewife sorry you had a rough time at the end. That’s a lovely birthday July 31st.

That’s so to hear @overwork . Really glad you’ve taken to breastfeeding so well.

Hello @AnnieApple123 :)
I have a 5 week old little girl now. She’s just so sweet, suffering with the witching hour these days tho 🙃 how everyone is well! X

CityKity · 30/09/2023 21:42

@AnnieApple123 oh what a sweetheart for thinking of us all. I miss the August threads and the pregnancy board too.

Sorry for the naive question - what is a PGD cycle? Sending you so much love and luck for your much longed for summer baby, maybe you’ll have deja vu and be spearheading August 2024’s baby threads!

Everything is going well. Baby boy is 8 weeks old and is just the most gorgeous thing I could imagine. I already miss the early newborn days and find myself looking back a pictures of when he was tiny all the time! Currently he only seems to go down for a nap in the sling on a walk or post feed, so I’ve done a hell of a lot of walking, he’s getting heavy though and hates the pram, but might have to get him used to it to save my poor back.
DH is just back at work from Pat Leave so we’re getting used to being on our own schedule, but all in all it’s going well. First lot of immunisations are coming up next week so am a bit nervous about that but fingers crossed baby boy isn’t too upset.

What a crazy old time eh?! I think I worried so much during pregnancy about birth/labour that I barely thought about life with a newborn!

EsmeSusanOgg · 30/09/2023 22:03

Crossing fingers for you.

9 weeks postpartum with boy 2. He arrived end of July, 3 weeks early.

Oldest turned 5 (and did not have to share his birthday courtesy of no2 arriving early) over the summer. Started Y1.

I'm still anaemic, but hopefully getting better.

BCxx · 30/09/2023 23:21

Aww so good to see a notification from you tonight @AnnieApple123 ☺️ Glad your little one is enjoying nursery. So pleased you’re thinking of trying for a summer baby, I’d love to be kept updated with how it all goes for you!

My little girl is 6 weeks now. I feel like I’ve literally blinked and somehow we are here, it seems to have gone at double the speed of my son’s first 6 weeks. Genuinely confused where that time is gone! She’s really quite chilled and I actually feel quite guilty because she doesn’t get as much of my time as he did at that age but that must just be what happens with the second. I’m frantically snapping pictures at every opportunity, knowing how much the pictures now mean of him as a newborn so trying to document it all!

Hope everyone is doing well and starting to emerge from the newborn bubble (makes me want to cry thinking they’re not so tiny now)!

Gizzyanne · 01/10/2023 02:29

Hi @AnnieApple123 thank you for checking in! So sorry to hear about your loss :(. We’ve got everything crossed for your summer baby!
my little boy is 7 weeks old now, he arrived a week early after being induced and then a gruelling 14 hour labour which ended in an emergency c section! I recovered remarkably quickly and I am loving every second. Currently doing the night feed listening to him snoring away with a full belly!
It’s been a whirlwind few weeks though who knew every little thing would make you worry!
Hope everyone else is doing well and little ones are thriving!
good luck once again ❤️ x x

sommeliermama · 01/10/2023 05:16

Thank you @AnnieApple123 for checking in with us all, I've hardly been on here since the baby arrived. I was so sorry to hear of your loss ❤and praying that you will have your rainbow summer baby next year.

My little girl was born 2 weeks late after a failed induction and then emergency C section. She's now exactly a month old and doing really well. I'm also breastfeeding after never planning on it throughout the pregnancy, and I love it!

It's been a crazy time with not a lot of sleep but it's also so incredible and the happiest I've ever been. Hope everyone is doing well, can't wait to hear how you've all gotten on

ChloeN · 01/10/2023 05:59

@AnnieApple123 Hi! Hope your little boy is getting on okay🥰 will be keeping everything crossed for your summer 24 baby, can’t wait to hear about it!
I had a little girl on the 29th July, we didn’t find out the gender before she arrived so it was a lovely surprise.

Hope everyone else is getting on okay, I still feel like I can’t believe she’s mine sometimes! I was thinking the other day this time last year I was feeling so down and low, if only you could tell yourself what life would be like a year later!

AnnieApple123 · 01/10/2023 09:00

So great to ‘see’ everyone and thank you for your good wishes. I’m really feeling the season change this year and have been quite lonely with DS off at nursery. I was very busy with medical appointments for a while but they’ve tailed-off now and I’m just waiting for the right point in my cycle to be able to start trying again.

@CityKity Can’t believe immunisations are coming up already. PGD is where embryos are screened for genetic problems, which greatly increases the chance of a successful pregnancy and reduces the chance of miscarriage. 🤞 If you can get a ‘good’ embryo, its chances can be as high as 70%.

@BB1993 I remember the witching hour well with DS!

@EsmeSusanOgg Goodness, Y1! Thank you for the reminder that I need to get back iIn iron supplements too.

@BCxx I can imagine being just the same trying to snap pictures. I’ll definitely keep you updated.

@Gizzyanne Sorry to hear you had such a tough birth experience but glad you’re recovering well.

Hi @AnnieApple123 hope you’re doing well. Wishing you all the luck in the world for a summer baby 🧡

My little boy is 8 weeks old. He’s my first baby and I honestly can’t believe how good he is (I’ve heard I’ll pay for this in the toddler years haha!). I’m loving being a Mum and feel like it’s given me a real sense of purpose. He’s got his first set off imms next week and I’m a little nervous! Also need to check out nurseries for when I go back to work - haven’t a clue where to start!

overwork · 01/10/2023 11:47

For those concerned about 8 week immunisations, I was too. I got Calpol and gave him the suggested dose when we got home and again 6 hours later. Which resulted in a very sleepy, cuddly baby. He was a little grouchy the next day but if he hadn't had his jabs I'd have just put it down to one of those days. Wishing you all a similarly uneventful experience

BMK · 01/10/2023 13:00

Hi all!: thanks so much for the thread @AnnieApple123 !!!have been thinking of you and all! My settings wouldn't and won't let me read the thread only post it appears, but I can't actually see/ read any of the posts! If anyone knows how to rectify this would you private message me as I presume I will be able to read those... Have been really wondering how everyone is and how you are @AnnieApple123 !!!

Amme18 · 01/10/2023 15:52

@AnnieApple123 so lovely to hear from you, and have fingers and toes crossed for a safe arrival of a summer ‘24 baby for you ❤️ Hope you have had lots of love and support around you.

Eliza is now 9 weeks old, I feel like I’ve blinked and my new born has gone!
Jack started school in September so it feels awfully quiet when he’s gone. My other half is back at work tomorrow , so gearing myself up for solo school runs, but actually ready to get some kind of routine going!

Rowanandremy · 01/10/2023 18:00

@AnnieApple123 its so lovely to hear from you! How lovely that your little boy is settling well into nursery. Wishing you all the luck for your pgd try and hoping that you get your summer baby. Thank you for making this thread, I’ve missed talking to everyone and it’s so nice to hear how everyone is doing.

Thomas is 11 weeks on Tuesday, that time has just flown. Like @BCxx we’re taking soo many pictures to document this time as we’re blinking and he’s grown or doing something new. He’s had his first immunisations, he did so well, only cried a little bit. The injection sites hurt him for a few days after and he was a little bit clingy but it wasn’t anywhere near as bad as we’d built it up to be (possibly because dd was a bit poorly after hers). He’s very free with his smiles and in the last week he’s tried desperately to laugh and started to vocalise sounds more frequently, I think we’ll have another chatter box on our hands! Dd is just as besotted with him as she was when he was first born, she’s started school and is settling in well - we’re so proud of how she’s coped with big changes in her life.

AnnieApple123 · 01/10/2023 20:02

Sorry I wanted to reply to everyone this morning but got distracted.

@sommeliermama That was such a nice post. Lovely to hear you’re the happiest you’ve ever been.

@ChloeN Yay for sticking to team yellow! I remember finding it hard to believe sometimes too that DS was actually mine.

OP posts:
AnnieApple123 · 01/10/2023 20:09

@RGxo13 My first was a bit like that too. Toddler years have also been fine. Enjoy!

@BMK Hope you’ve managed to read some more now. How is life with three?!

@Amme18 I love the name Eliza. Good luck for tomorrow.

@Rowanandremy I love the name Thomas too. It’s great to hear how your DD has taken so well to big sisterhood and to school too.

@AnnieApple123 So lovely to hear from you, and wishing you all the best for a summer '24 arrival.

Also been lovely to read everyone's updates - I find it so hard to keep up on FB and the WhatsApp groups.

I'm still struggling to be honest. Luna is wonderful and 8 weeks old today. She's currently going through a phase of not wanting to be put down but hoping that's a phase. I've been diagnosed with severe PND and am on antidepressants and now an antipsychotic also (largely for it's main side effect, which is sleepiness, as I now haven't had unmedicated sleep for nearly 7 weeks). I'm so grateful to have Luna and that she's healthy after all the worries during pregnancy, but I really wasn't expecting my mental health to fall in the bin like this and it's knocked me sideways. Sorry that my update isn't more cheery - I'm totally in love with Luna, but every day is a struggle.

overwork · 02/10/2023 09:04

Oh @DesertSnow. I just wanted to tell you you're doing great and I hope that things get easier for you soon. Maybe once all your tablets kick in you'll start feeling more yourself again. Lots of love

AnnieApple123 · 02/10/2023 12:50

I’m so sorry to hear that you’re struggling so @DesertSnow . I think you’re brave for being so honest. Hope you’re getting good support. Are you doing talking therapy too? xxx
