Heartmum2Jamie · 25/02/2008 15:15

After a bit of cajoling from some friends (some of whom I hope can join me here soon), I decided to take the plunge and start this thread.

Anyway, I have just found out I am pregnant again, got a BFP on Saturday 23rd at 12dpo, which gives me an EDD of 3rd November 2008 (or the 4th, depending on which calculator I use). This is my 4th pregnancy and will be my 3rd child. I am super excited and a little scared & nervous after a previous missed miscarriage.

I hope I don't get too lonely waiting for more BFP's to roll in! Please come and join me.

Roca - thanks for that advice and info; it's really helped. I think I might try to get an appointment with my GP then, just to be on the safe side.

Pinkali - I haven't had a scan yet, although I wouldn't say no if anyone offered! Newtotheplanet had an early scan on 5th March - she lives abroad and it's routine where she is, I think. Which reminds me....

how did the scan go, newtotheplanet? Hope all is well.

Heartmum2Jamie · 10/03/2008 11:09

Carrieboo, I am so sorry to hear your news

Lackadaisycal - I have everything crossed for you.

Wellcome to Manyhatson, Roca, Purlease and anyone else I may have missed.

Oddeyes, Happy 1st Birthday to you DS!

I am 6 weeks today and suddenly I feel blah. Grrr! I was hoping to be one who got away with no m/s or nausea. I am also very windy today, I knew I would regret all that veg with dinner yesterday. Am feeling quiet uncomfortable.

OP posts:
Roca · 10/03/2008 11:20

Desperately want to go superhealthy this pg as still have baby weight from last 2 to lose! When I shout out choc or cheese attack, please shout back NOOOOO! And include some healthy snack options!!! Or a job to divert me from the kitchen - i.e. Tidy your porch!!

Thanks .....

Pinkali37 · 10/03/2008 11:27

Definitely - TIDY THAT PORCH .... erm or go for a walk for 5 minutes and then turn back.

Creena · 10/03/2008 11:30

Heartmum2Jamie - I know exactly how you feel. I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and I feel awdul today. Beyond knackered and all of these odd aches have decided to intensify now for some reason. I'm also what you'd call quite windy. In fact, it sounds as though I've got a brass band following me around!

Roca - me too. I made the mistake of giving in to the creme eggs fair too easily and too often last time and I still haven't shifted the extra weight. Have been trying really hard to eat healthily and sensibly but when you're overcome by a pang of hunger (which has started happening already), it's not always satisfied with a nice orange or a bowl of salad.......

mum2becks · 10/03/2008 11:53

Hi to all who have joined us since my last post, great to see so many BFP's coming through!

I know how you feel Creena & Roca - my new years resolution was to be back in my pre-pregnancy clothes by the summer as still havent lost the baby weight, but now i'm going to be back in maternity clothes by the summer!!!!

I am 6 weeks tomorrow and up until yesterday was feeling ok but I cleaned all the house yesterday and felt shocking last night so think I had overdone things and today I still feel shattered!! All I feel like doing today is eating!!!!!!!!!

Hope evertone else is doing ok today?

mum2becks · 10/03/2008 11:54

oops - hope everyone else is ok today

divedaisy · 10/03/2008 13:49

Hi Creena, I have been asking the same question. I had horrible SPD when I was about 5 months preg with my 1st, that coupled with pre-eclampsia ended with me being hospitalised for rest and then induced 3 wks early. Already I am having pain on my pubic bone with pains down the front/inside of my thighs. The symptoms are milder than what I experienced last time, but its only a few weeks so early days. I think when you've had it and dread its return, any ache makes you paranoid!!! I'll be asking my GP today when I see her, so I'll let you know what she reckons.

Pinkali37 the foetus should have a heartbeat at 6 wks. I'm going to get a vaginal USS today to confirm that the heartbeat is present and get size done for an EDD.

Pinkali37 · 10/03/2008 13:56

Hi Divedaisy, Please let me know how you get on. How far do you think you are?

Jojay · 10/03/2008 14:30

Thanks divedaisy for that info on supplements. I'm not feeling sick yet so i think I'll get some Pregnacare or something and see how I get on, as it does look as if it's good to take something

Pinkali37 · 10/03/2008 14:33

Hi Jojay,

I just take the recommended amount of folic acid a day and a normal multi vitamin. They seem to be pretty small in size.

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 14:34

sorry for butting in, but dont take normal multi-vits - Vit A is not good for baby

scorpio1 · 10/03/2008 14:35

info here

Pinkali37 · 10/03/2008 15:00

Ooh thank you.... If I am taking Folic Acid, can I take the preg tablets with folic acid in aswell????

ELB1 · 10/03/2008 15:09

Can I join in?

Can't belive I am posting this with my 4 month old DD1 on my lap. I had BFP today and have worked out my EDD is 15th Nov, 11 days after DD1s 1st birthday and 4 days before her due date (she arrived a couple of weeks early. It feels like only yesterday that I was posting on the Due in Nov 2007 thread!!
I think people will think we only ever get jiggy with it once a year!!

Pinkali37 · 10/03/2008 15:18

Oh wow, that must have been a shock for you ELB1, a good one but a shock nonetheless. So how far are you? 4 weeks and 2 days?

Creena · 10/03/2008 15:39

Wow, ELB1! Congratulations and welcome to our gang! A friend of mine has children almost exactly a year apart - they planned it that way and he reckons it's worked out really well. The children are really close and get on really well and still do things like nap in the day at the same time. Adding you to the list;

Creena · 10/03/2008 15:41

divedaisy - yes please, do let me know how you get on. It's reassuring to know (although not a great thing) that I'm not imagining it! I've managed to speak to my midwife who says it does sound like SPD and has advised that I see my GP, so I've made an appointment for tomorrow morning. I think I'll be digging out my support belt a bit earlier than planned......

divedaisy · 10/03/2008 15:55

Pinkali37 I don't think you need to take folic acid along with a preg supplement that has folic acid in it already. The preg multi-vits with folic acid in usually have 100% of the reccommended dose, so it may be a waste of money taking them both. Check the reccommended dose on the multi and take it from there.

Pinkali37 · 10/03/2008 15:56

thank you. I know i looked at a preg multi vit the other day and it was only 370 not the rec 400 of folic acid. BLIMEY pregnancy is confusing...

divedaisy · 10/03/2008 16:05

Maybe you should give the folic acid tablet a quick suck to make up the 30 difference!!LOL

Pinkali37 · 10/03/2008 16:07

Good idea ha ha....

LolaBella · 10/03/2008 16:43

Wow our thread is really growing now.
Any advice? im 6w 1 day today and morning sickness kicked in this morning as i was attempting to leave the house. Really suffered all day (i'm a teacher) so it is so difficult when teaching to run out. Iv been locating nearest exits and bins all day !!
Just wondered if anybody had any good advice or is in a similar situation??

LolaBella · 10/03/2008 16:44

Hi Pinkali, nice to see you over here - everything ok now??

lackaDAISYcal · 10/03/2008 17:11

wow this thread is getting very busy.

I spoke to the EPU today and feel much more reassured. I've booked a private scan for Thursday, when I'll be just 6 weeks by my reckoning so hopefully we'll be able to see the heartbeat. I'm getting really nasty pains low on the right side, but EPU think it's ligament pains. I tore the ligament there when I was pregnant with DD and I think it is just that old injury playing up. I feel like I'm about 90 years old today, and the extreme fatigue has kicked in big time. Very early to bed for me tonight.

I'm also trying to east healthily as I'm 2 stone overweight still, and like others had been determined to be back in my pre pg summer clothes, but will be back in maternity gear as well. Oh well

ELB1, my you are going to have your hands full!
