Thanks for the advice gals, I think I will need to go and have a look at buggys with her at least and then we can make the decision ourselves.

Heffa, I WISH she lived two hours away! Unfortunately she lives about 15min drive away. I also wish DH would take the view that me and LO are number 1 priority now - he actually said last night "I just think I need to make her happy as she has been my mum for 31 years"!!!! He makes her happy every day when they talk - he is such a good son to her. It's not as if he is an only child either, he has a brother and a sister, who both steer well clear of the interfering - I feel like he takes it all on his shoulders sometimes.

Sorry for the rant.

I am quite into the idea of the Mamas and Papas Pliko but getting a Maxi Cosy seperate carseat to leave in the car....anyone else got/done this?

Heffa · 11/03/2008 13:44

MrsHop - they moved a few years ago in an effort to stop DH and me seeing each other(sadly). They were threatening to move back now, because of the baby but they've decided not to (although she does want to live on our road in her camper van during July and August...). 15 minutes drive away must be a nightmare. The 'good son' thing is difficult isn't it - my DH was always worrying about it especially as she was constantly telling him how all her friends thought he was a horrible ungrateful son blahblah. It was so unfair because he's a fantastic son.

Anyway, I could rant about MiLs all day so I guess I should be quiet

We're getting a Bugaboo Gecko with the Maxi Cosi carseat - the Maxi Cosi looks fab.

MrsHOP · 11/03/2008 14:11

Heffa at MIL moving her van into your road! Maybe you could call town planning and get her removed

btw I have just followed you like a lemming into the song lyrics thread - priceless...

Heffa · 11/03/2008 14:27

Luckily our new house will be on a little estate so I don't think there's much space for a camper van I like the idea of calling town planning if she does try it though! On the upside, they're going travelling from April-July so we can have a few months of peace!

The song lyrics thread is fab! I'm awful for mishearing lyrics, DH thinks it's hilarious .

gillythekid · 11/03/2008 14:39

Hello all, I'm back from the epic journey, still jet lagged!! Arrived home to a broken down car and had to walk to the supermarket yesterday, got UTTERLY soaked, I ain't in Fiji anymore that's for sure!!!
I've expanded quite a bit in the last month, lots of boob talk in the last few days, mine (thankfully) haven't grown at all!! I'm normally a 32g and bought a 34g from bravissimo before the holiday and it's still a little loose on the tightest fastener. I'm sure I'll look like Lolo Ferrari by the time the milk comes in though!!
Hope everyone is well, my nausea has finally gone and I'm feeling really great so maybe this pregnancy lark isn't so bad after all. Next scan on Thursday and am meeting the community midwife re home birth so fingers crossed that my GD scare is just that, a scare and not a reality!!

Heffa · 11/03/2008 14:56

Welcome back Gilly! Hope you had a nice time away. Congratulations on the nausea going and good luck with your scan on Thursday

isaidno · 11/03/2008 16:18

mrshop - I would let your mil come window shopping for prams, but refuse to make a decision there and then. That should keep the peace - and SK's idea of finding it on the net is a good one.

EEC · 11/03/2008 16:57

Good idea about window shopping for pram. Just make sure DH promises to stick to this before you go out! (unless of course you do all end up liking the same one!)

Love the camper van in your road!

beepbeep · 11/03/2008 17:38

mrshop, my mum paid for our buggy last time, and wanted to come and look with us (nightmare!) but we did all the window shopping first and had decided on 2 we liked so made the final decision whilst she was there, at least then she felt like she had had an input into making the decision! Is a nightmare though, luckily for me my MIL is GREAT! Mind you DD was the 7th of 8 grandchildren, this will be the 9th - maybe the need to interfere wears off after a while!!

Got our scan next monday, this has been the longest 5 weeks ever. Am pretty calm about it all at the mo, but know i'll be cr*ing myself sunday and monday morning, I just want to know everything is alright and if not what the strange measurements mean / could mean. I think it's so bad when they just send you off with no information to get yourself into a state until the next scan. Come on the 17th!!

BTW our bump is bub2 (DD was bub) - not very creative eh?!

MrsHOP · 11/03/2008 17:38

I think I might start forwarding on links to prams I like - maybe she can have an opinion then without actually having to come with us...honestly what a palaver

Kaz1967 · 11/03/2008 17:57

legsy This little horror is exactly the same. At 16 and 20 weeks we played hide and seek with the midwife then she was trying to find a heartbeat. And today Rock (as his her surrogate aunt calls them) has decided to remain a mystery I think they got stage fright We got a wave and then hid with their face in a fibroid and legs crossed Oh well surprises are nice They appear to have all bits in the right place think I surprised both girls that scanned me because I can actually read scans. We had to go for a walk and try and shift the horror but it did not work. So think I have a bruised hip bone where she had to dig the probe in to try and see their face (camera shy like me )

So I ha having a Surprise

LikerabbitsBX · 11/03/2008 21:07

Thank you Minkus!

We thought it would be a boy this time round but it had no dangly bits at all so I would say that is a sure fire sign its a girl...unless it has the smallest willy in the world! lol

Hope all is ok with all. I am not a major talker on mn, just pop in now and again and have a read. ))

LikerabbitsBX · 11/03/2008 22:40

I am doing a 'What do you predict for this baby girl' chart.

Let me know when you think my little one will arrive, what time and the weight.

No money is exchanging hands...all for fun!! lol

For your info and to help you predict...by the scans i am due on 25th July 2008, by dates 28th. My first baby was a girl weighing 6lbs 8oz at 6.29am and came 3 days late.

I look forward to reading your predictions!

disneystar · 12/03/2008 07:17

jodie we having a scan on the same day i had to re book to to to have gestational diabetes now so they have been flapping over that sending me all over,im actually quite nervous about the scan you know wondering if all is ok them little niggling doubts you get but equally i cant wait to see how much its grown last scan 11 wks. i am going to ask if the sex of the baby is visible .good luck for thursday

disneystar · 12/03/2008 07:20

all these nicknames for the babies mine is called lil pickle by everyone even the children,no idea where that came from but its sure stuck.

isaidno · 12/03/2008 09:32

likerabbits - I have looked into my crystal ball and I see a baby girl, born on 30th July at 9.21am. She will weigh 7lb 4oz.

lazyhippo · 12/03/2008 09:45

Hi everyone
Sorry to those of you feeling miserable with vomiting + spd.
Thinking of Monkey
Good luck for those scans- keep strong Beepbeep, and poor you Disneystar getting gest diabetes, is it under control?
Enjoying life with boobs for first time, C cup seems huge, bow down in awe to thought of G cups!
We had our 20wk scan yesterday and all well. It was the first time (in 5 scans) that i'd able to relax and enjoy it, and the midwife was lovely. All ok, clot shrinking and (whisper) bleeding seems to be settling... Desperate to get back to swimming for first time in months, but just realised will need to get new costume as no way will usual one fit!
xx

isaidno · 12/03/2008 12:26

lazyhippo - pleased to hear it is all going well!

NikNakF · 12/03/2008 13:10

Hi guys,

My boobs are on my tummy. I have worn a support bra for about 23 weeks constantly and they are still huge and droopy!

TMI?!

Anyway.... Good luck for those waiting for scans, lazyhippo glad your look s good.

Just had lunch and still hungry - had big bowl of Fruit n Fibre for brekkie, healthy sandwich with loads of salad and quavers for lunch, also have a yoghurt, 3x fruit waiting for me and cereal bar but it never seems enough!!!

JODIEhavingababy · 12/03/2008 13:16

Disney - Good luck for tomorrow, I will be thinking of you.... and I'm sorry to hear you've not been well... I must admit that I'm starting to get nervous now, all this while I've just been concentrating on seeing baby again, but now I'm thinking, 'what if something's wrong' Oh well, just have to wait until tomorrow..

When I was preggers last time, we called our bump OliBelle as it was to be an Oliver or an Isabelle, so Oli now gets called OliBol or Bol for short.. This time we haven't really called it anything other than bump, or terrorist to be!!!! (if her/his brother is anything to go by..)

JODIEhavingababy · 12/03/2008 13:17

likerabbits 21st July at 18.32 weighing 7lbs and 3 ozs....

EEC · 12/03/2008 13:18

Just had a huge pizza followed by profiteroles. Can hardly move now. So good not to feel sick though...

Pleased for you lazyhippo. Good luck disney.

Kaz1967 · 12/03/2008 13:20

I am having an "I feel sick Day" today, I have eaten breakfast and am thinking about lunch but not feeling up to anything quite yet. Rock has just woken up and is having a good kick about.

Nic my Boobs were never small but they are now plain daft

cass66 · 12/03/2008 13:36

I am having a tired day, got up late, hubby did school and playgroup run, now counting down the hours before my bedtime!

and trying not to eat 2 hot cross buns today.

have called the bump junior3, as the other 2 were junior and junior2. my dad called my first daughter junior for a good few weeks after she was born! also call it wriggler, as it does, all day! the kids want to call it darth vader or princess leia, can you sense a theme there!!

is anyone else having problems with knickers??? they keep falling down, I like them kind of mid bump, not under bump, but my pants have other ideas! not very becoming, keep pulling them up in public!

think I'll just give up wearing underwear totally, as neither bras nor knickers are comfy!

sweetkitty · 12/03/2008 13:41

hello everyone

lazyhippo - thats great news hope you can relax a bit and enjoy this pregnancy now

disneystar - good luck with your scan too, how is your hubby btw?

likerabbits - congrats on your girl

kaz1967 - shame you couldn't find out the flavour you have a modest one there, surprises are good though

gilly - welcome back

heffa - at MIL moving on with the camper van, my family are about an hours drive away which is nice

I'm feeling a bit down today, in the last few days the SI/SPD/totally falling apart pelvis pain has got really bad. I really don't know how I am going to get through the next 18 or so weeks. Last night I was sitting knitting in bed and went to move and felt my pelvis crack then I was hobbling about like an old woman. I hate it and am normally an active independent person so hate that it's slowing me down. I guess it's in part frustration at not being able to chase after the DDs etc. DP caught me crying in bed last night too, he asks "what can I do to help?" but theres nothing, got told last time that the only cure is delivery. I knew it was going to be like this I don't know why I'm surprised, sorry to bring everything down ladies but I need to get it out somewhere. Everyone asks "how are you keeping?" and you say "oh fine" don't want to say "I'm in complete agony and my pelvis feels like it's coming apart but thanks for asking" I don't want to come on here every day and be saying "I'm really sore etc" it's a bit like groundhog day. I knwo it will be worth it once DD3 is here but right now it's a slog. Thanks for reading if you have got this far.
