ISAIDNO - thanks for the link...just what I was after...will try the 16 although may be difficult to fit the breasts of doom in right now! Feel like people see my chest coming 5 mins before the rest of me! Wish bump was bigger to even things out!

On another maternity wear grumble...is anyone else in that annoying place where normal clothes are just too small and maternity wear is just too big? I swear I look like Charlie Chaplin in my work trousers...have to keep pulling them up, most undignified and unladylike!!

twinkle1 · 10/03/2008 18:33

bebejones,
wish i had that prob even maternity clothes are gtting snug!!!! i will soon need a big sack and a sign saying "having twins"
I just feel soooo huge,i measure 38 weeks now!!!!! But im looking forward to my scan on friday

cass66 · 10/03/2008 18:52

hi guys, I'm feeling much better thanks, had a nice sunday, sunny, cycled to a local pub with the girls, hubby doing DIY all morning.

been to a health food shop and bought some liquid iron supplements. supposed not to cause constipation like usual iron tabs. will see if it lifts my energy and mood!!!

boobs - mine are too big at present. usually D cup, so being an E/F seems huge, heavy and just too big. I have one comfy but very expensive bra, but even that comes off come 7pm. and I have scratch marks on them, they are sooo itchy. (my nails are in better than usual condition, though!)

my 3 yr old has been nice today! I told her mummy is grumpy and horrid and doesn't want to play if she is horrid. she seems to understand!! that and a new sticker chart for good behaviour.

thinking of all having scans etc.

Kaz1967 · 10/03/2008 19:01

twinkle1 I might have to join you and I don't have twins as an excuse just being fat to start with

I have my scan tomorrow

Minkus · 10/03/2008 19:34

!!MAJOR WHINE ALERT!! SELF INDULGENT POST WARNING!!

I blimmin well hate being pregnant! I love the fact that I have a baby growing inside me but hate the fact that it means I have to have all the bloody physical symptoms that go with it:

The non stop nausea and sickness (went to dentist today and threw up whilst in the chair as poor dentist dared to prod my mouth a bit too far back. DS laughed.)
The hunger for something but no idea what
The indigestion
The tiredness (oh my god I was never even this tired when ds was tiny and not sleeping)
The dry itchy skin esp boobs cass and tummy
The stretchmarks I've already started getting
The big blue varicose vein on my thigh
The constipation
The horrifically smelly wind
The dry mouth at night
The waking up in the night
The invisible sex drive
The inability to wear my normal heels (Sob I normally wear heels all the time unless exercising and flats make me walk like a duck)

And that's just off the top of my head, without thinking about it for any length of time or factoring in the hormonal mood swings grumpiness and predictable teariness at cute/sad things on the telly.

End of grumpy post.

Minkus · 10/03/2008 19:38

SOrry about that ladies (and hubarb!) just needed to get it off my chest.

Good luck for your scan tomorrow Kaz- and poor you Twink I bet you are fed up of people asking when "it" is due

Lol bebejones at "breasts of doom"

Hurrah MrsHop for your boy! Glad all went well.

DH not home for another few hours so just off to do bedtime for ds.

Kaz1967 · 10/03/2008 19:45

Minkus 90% of that is me too except not thrown up on the dentist and most of the time I no longer feel sick when I was though everyone kept telling me what a good sign it was

sweetkitty · 10/03/2008 20:40

I only have one major moan SPD, I feel like I have been kicked in the bum by a horse, front of pelvis isn't much better and my right hip and thigh are sore too. Feeling a bit about it tonight 18 long weeks ahead.

Still on a lighter note have just polished off a whole bag of Mini Creme Eggs free from Tescos, DDs are in bed, DP is away with work so it's just the cats and I tonight.

Congrats Likerabbits and MrsHop on finding out the flavour now go forth and buy loads of pink and blue.

Twinkle - are you finding out the sex on Friday?

kaz - good luck for your scan too x

minkus - never apologise for the whingy post if you can't have a good old moan here where can you? we just all read it and nod our heads in agreement.

shortshafe · 10/03/2008 21:50

Hello all!

Sorry for long time away - work been really busy lately (can't wait to be on mat leave again!)
Just read through and caught up with everyone, can I join in the whinge club? My little sister has taken to calling me 'pammy' due to the enhanced size of my boobs! And my do they itch - esp my nips for some reason!
Huge sympathies for everyone suffering with SPD or sickness, can only imagine how awful it is.
We had our scan last week and it's a boy - will update the list accordingly! I wasn't bothered which we got, but dh thinks he's super sperm 'cause he's made one of each!! Bless.

Bump just made me eat a tin of tuna and now I feel sick

EEC · 11/03/2008 07:10

Morning all. Still seems such a longggg time to go...

isaidno · 11/03/2008 07:33

Morning all; congrats on all the scans.

Minkus - apart from the puking I moan about all those things too!

Minkus · 11/03/2008 07:57

Yay Shortshafe on your boy! A nice even list we have now

Lol Kaz I'm going to start blaming The Bump soon on making me eat stuff- really like that excuse! Poor you though.

Thank you everyone for letting me moan, I'm sure today will be better and that hopefully I was just having a "poor me!" day yesterday. Sorry for all you ladies suffering from symptoms too x

EEC it does seem ages to go still doesn't it. I am dying to meet this baby and see if its a boy or girl! We've definitely decided on Hugh for a boy and Lily for a girl (well for now but there are 17 weeks to go still ) and it's going to be so exciting finding out what name I'll be adding onto Christmas cards for the next 18 years!

Does anyone have a pet jokey name for their bump? This time round we've just been calling it baby (how original) but with ds he was always Leonard before he was born. (Worst name we could think of for a little baby!) My neice was The Tiddler before she was born and still gets called Tids now, she's 8!

Hope everyone has a good day xx

twinkle1 · 11/03/2008 09:53

yeah the kids have named the babys Ben & Jerry!!! Cant think why?????? the other three were called Moose, pooti and sprout when i was pg and are still called them nicknames now!!!!!!!! Some thngs just stick.Im stuck in waiting for carpet fittrs at the min.I hate having to wait in all day bet they come at 4pm.

Heffa · 11/03/2008 11:04

My boobs are getting very annoying too I'm normally 34FF, gone up to 38H and my nipples are sooooo sore. The cat keeps jumping on them whenever I lie down as well, which doesn't help .

We don't have a pet name for the baby yet although I have been referring to her as 'YOUR daughter' to DH whenever I'm feeling particularly rubbish He's convinced she'll take after my Mum though because she was being so stubborn at the scan.

Congratulations on your boy MrsHop! And good luck to everyone with upcoming scans

NikNakF · 11/03/2008 11:20

Hi guys,

* SELF INDULGENCE CONTINUED *

The nasty back pain
The hunger for something but no idea what
The indigestion/ evil evil heartburn
The tiredness
The dry itchy skin esp boobs and tummy
The diarrhoea (!)
The horrifically smelly wind/ burping
The dry mouth at night
The waking up in the night
The invisible sex drive
The inability to wear my normal heels
The looser pelvic floor
The HUGE belly even though only 23weeks

But I love him

NikNakF · 11/03/2008 11:21

Oh by the way, 'him' is blob

Congrats on scans and a boy MrsHOP

legsy · 11/03/2008 11:38

Morning all!

'Bump' is just called 'awkward bugger' for now after my farcical scan, and the fact that it hid for a long time when the consultant tried to check the heartbeat yesterday.

Am 'working' from home today as I have a midwife appointment at lunchtime but it's not that relaxing because we have decorators in and they're making a hell of a racket.

DH has gone skiing and phoned today to tell me they've had a huge dump of snow and are skiing knee deep in powder. Wasn't that bothered about it until today.... Oh well, will go and flick through the Mamas & Papas catalogue to cheer myself up!

MrsHOP · 11/03/2008 11:51

guys, am I being unreasonable here...need to just check this isn't hormones...

MIL has offered to pay for the buggy, which is fab and very generous of her. She texted DH yesterday saying she would love to come along and help us choose the buggy - I had always thought this was a thing me and DH would do together, and said I would rather she didn't come along. This caused a bit of a row - him saying I am trying to shut her out and she is only excited etc.

I am totally not trying to shut her out, but think there are decisions we should make on our own, and she has a tendency to be a bit of a 'meddler' - has caused problems in the past.

I think she is great, but she has an extremely tight hold over DH and I can just see this causing more problems in the future if I don't try and make subtle changes now...

Or am I just being a complete cow??? I don't know.... help!

sweetkitty · 11/03/2008 12:02

Morning all had a better sleep last night had bed to myself and had pillow between legs, finished one front side of the epic cardigan too am about to start a sleeve now.

This one is called pumpkin as I got my BFP on Halloween, I have had apple seed, peanut and grape too.

MrsHop - when I was pregnant with DD1 my Mum gave me money to buy a pram, I bought a huge big travel system then at about 6 weeks realised it was useless for London buses and bought a Maclaren. My Mum (who I don't like anyway) would tell everyone about the pram SHE bought that was orange (it was red) and how I never used it blah blah blah, I actually though about giving her the money back. I think it's lovely your MIL is offering to buy the pram but remember that in her day prams were big old things and maybe thats the idea she has, you have to get a pram to suit YOU. You could always take her to a few shops and look at a few then say "oh I don't know etc" then say you seen one online that was £s cheaper and a bargain so bought it. Is that bad???

OP posts:
RUMPEL · 11/03/2008 12:24

HI All,

MRSHOP - I agree with SWEETKITTY - that way you keep everyone happy. My PIL are a nightmare and I was worried about Dh standing up to them - but he did before we got married I was and proud. Still they know not to mess with me and now they don't (from previous confrontations!)

Congrats to scan and colours.

DD was Sausage and still is - she even has a sausage song!

BRAS - the hotmilk 1 is the most comfy bra ever. I got a 36D (up form a 34B - was bigger before bf DD) but am seriously thinking of investing in another bigger one (for later)as it is mega supportive, comfy, non itchy and attractive - nursing bra too. It also has about 8 sets of triple hooks and eyes so you can adjust to smaller back when LO is born.

MINKUS - I am totally with you - I hate being pg too.

I get carpal tunnel syndrome too - beginning to bother me again.
And 1 thing I really hate is that I can't walk fast - usually I walk really quickly but am unable to when pg and I need to pee even more than usual (which is a lot) and you cannot hold it in at all!!
Also suffer form the diarrhoea outbursts!
Moan, moan - just looking forward to seeing baby.

Have had couple of nights form hell. DD is cross cutting molars and had me up form 1am to 6am Sunday night - DH gets up at 6.30, then half of last night too! Am a zombie today and really need to do some uni work but just feel like slobbing. Am very crabbit too

Any of you guys got a Phil and Ted? I think that is the one I am going to go for this time. I have a Quinny Buzz with dremicot which I'll use when just LO and me but need a doubler when have DD too. My parents bought our travel system and we had to include the hardpram case as it was winter (in Scotland) when DD was born but she grew out of it really quickly but I recommend the Quinny Buzz for anyone who just needs one. It is really easy to steer, fold and pop up and fits in the boot of the smallest cars (mines a mini).

Well must go see what DD is up to - all has gone quiet

Take care all.
xxx

RUMPEL · 11/03/2008 12:25

MRSHOP - cervix check could be to check out erosion of cervix - common and nothing to worry about. They are probably just being cautious.

Heffa · 11/03/2008 12:35

MrsHop - we had a similar situation. Long, tedious history of problems with my MiL but she's very excited about the baby and seems to be behaving herself currently. She wanted to give us money towards the buggy and was talking about coming shopping with us. It would have been a nightmare to arrange anyway (they live a couple of hours away) but she's very much the 'why do you need a new carseat when you could just borrow my friend's secondhand one?' type. Luckily DH agreed with me so we went shopping together and told her we already knew what we wanted. We then bought it ourselves and she decided to give us a cheque towards it later. It's worked out really well as it was much less stressful for everyone. She's now doing lots of knitting instead which will be lovely and won't be so potentially contentious.

So, anyway, no I don't think you're being unreasonably hormonal but I don't know how you could handle it. Do you have any idea what buggy you want?

twinkle1 · 11/03/2008 12:41

Rumpel,
i have a phil and ted and love it
I bought it at christmas when i found out i was pg, then i found it was twins!!!!!!!!
At the min i use it for ds2 who is 2yrs old.It is so easy to push i will use it for the twins once they are 6 months.I got mine new off ebay for a really good price.
Im soooo excited about the scan on fri DH has day off and kids are all at school or child minder so we can go for lunch afterwards
