sorry - it is the second one down on the link.

carrieHD9 · 09/03/2008 19:13

Hi all, gosh, so many posts can't keep up!

BebeJones, I've been trying on wrapdresses too, the best fitting ones I found were Mothercare- not exciting but definately best fitting- however they were quite heavy (winter stock I think?). I ordered stuff from Picchu Maternity, lovely fabric (65 quid I think??) but sent it back as not a great fit on me. Have also just discovered Ebay- recommended by many on mn- oh my god the bargains to be had! know not everyone keen on second hand but I've got some fantastic work stuff from there, plus there's lots of new things if that's more your thing.

re. boobs- no massive change here- I'm gutted! the only change is my now HUGE nipples, so technically have smaller breasts that before in nipple/ breast ratio terms.. This was my first chance in my life- short of a boob job- for an eighteenth century heroine style heaving bosom!

Mummywannabe · 09/03/2008 20:34

Hi all.

Had my hair cut today as also feeling fat and frumpy. Hairdresser said 'my god your tiny have they told you to expect a small baby . Bless her! I'm not tiny at all.

Re: bra's - had 3 different sizes so far now a 36dd from a 34b.

Kaz1967 · 09/03/2008 20:46

carrieHD9 there is always day 3 post delivery when your milk comes in ;)

Mummywannabe one of my friends with her 2nd really was small and all the Mums at nursery thought it was great and told her how slim she still was I went round telling her how fat she was cos it made her smile

purplejennyrose · 09/03/2008 20:56

Hi all! Hope all those feeling poorly / low feel better soon..
No idea what size my boobs are though will need to think about getting properly measured soon -bit saggy - along with stupidly huge bump; my DD saw me getting into the bath yesterday, looked me up and down and absolutely fell about laughing!!
Can I ask anyone who has SPD for your opinion - not sure whether I'm developing this. I've had, for ages now, great pressure (not pain) in my pubic area - kind of bearing down, like right at the end of my first pregancy. Obv dd2 is moving all over the place, not just down there. Just this week it has really felt very uncomfortable. Today I was in the garden shed and pushed a box with my foot as thought it was light - it had something heavy in so didn't move, and I felt everything in my pubic area move IYSWIM, and since then it has really hurt especially when I walk - I kind of shuffle with my legs clamped together!!Sitting with legs tucked up sideways on sofa is OK.
Any tips???Gratefully received!

JODIEhavingababy · 10/03/2008 08:46

Morning,
Hope everyone is OK and the weather isn't too bad, it's OK here in the midlands (so far) but I bet irt's bad later when I need to go to town!

Anyway, I was thinking last night about monkey I really hope she's OK, didn't she say her scan was Thursday to see if baby's lungs were OK? and she's not been on since....

minipinkscottish · 10/03/2008 10:00

It's morning isn't it?? OMG another night of vomit and poo - this time from dd. She also has sore ear so took her to docs who says she has throat infection (seemingly the nerves can make them think it's their ear that's sore) but...it's a VIRUS and he said give her calpol and ice lollies!! - just waiting now for that to come back up!!

PJR I would also like to know symptoms of SPD - I have same as you but also get muscle like cramps in one or other side of bump - annoying cause it's very painful and stops me being so active even though otherwise I feel like doing things. Someone said this is long ligament pain - had it in other pg's but getting much worse this time - any ideas?

MINKUS - how's the poo and sick situation in your house?

Thinking of Monkey too. And has anyone heard form Hatrick? I have CAT her as well and had no response.

libralady · 10/03/2008 10:04

tafftaff you are a star. Thanks so much for the link to medibroker. They do indeed cover upto 36 weeks pregnancy. Spoke to a really nice guy this morning. Plus if the worse comes to the worse they add babba on (obviously if it born whilst on trip) at no extra cost. I'll still have to take out normal travel insurance for lost passport/.baggage/money etc but we have that with our bank account anyway. It's the peace of mind I'll now have with being covered for medical emergancies just in case.
God the weather is crap today. I live right down on the South Coast and it is blowing an absolute hooley.
Was up being sick during the night and think I have picked up a bug so have taken the day off work. Just as well, don't fancy going out in this weather.
Oh well, in 9 weeks I shall be lazing on the lovely beach on the Greek Isles.

JODIEhavingababy · 10/03/2008 10:06

I really don't envy you... Luckily DS has only ever had one night of sick and poo (fingers crossed), and wouldn't you know it was the night I went back to work!!! Always the way. It was horrible, so loads of tea and sympathy out to Minkus and Minipink

It's very quiet on here today, and I'm really bored. Have loads to do as well, just can't get round to it! I keep looking at things on e-bay and reminding myself that scan on Thursday so WAIT... I really don't need that travel cot right away!!!!!

JODIEhavingababy · 10/03/2008 10:08

Morning Libralady, sorry crossed posts. I'm so of your holiday.... I want to go away sans kids, well maybe in about 18 years!!!!

JODIEhavingababy · 10/03/2008 10:09

Sorry again, I've just realised, you have got one already....

Minkus · 10/03/2008 10:13

Morning all

Poor you and poor dd minipink- luckily we escaped with just the one night of poo city, ds was a bit quiet yesterday but otherwise his normal rumbunctious self (is that a real word?)

Glad you found some insurance libra,

Lol at all the haircut posts, I'm having one next week maybe after hearing all these stories I shall stick to the normal "just a trim please" rather than go for something different (I've been asking for just a trim for about 10 years now though, v bored with my hair!)

Rumpel good luck with your coursework/online conversations for uni, must be tricky balancing it all.

Off to the dentist this afternoon, not been since ds was about 6 months old . He's really excited though which is nice, I've never minded going to the dentist so I hope he grows up thinking that they can be nice folks too!

Have a good day all
x

sweetkitty · 10/03/2008 10:17

My symptoms are pain in my tailbone (think this is more the sacro-iliac joints at the back) and pain across my pubic bone. It radiates either down my groin or my hips. Last night in bed it felt like my pelvis was on fire and turning over in bed is painful. Sometimes you can hear and feel my hips click. It's worse if I sit for a while and try to get back up. I think all ligaments loosen in pregnancy so it could just be normal aches and pains and also the weight of your womb pushing down won't help either.

MPS - sorry to hear about the vomit and poo it's dire isn't it, it's as if the whole house smells no matter how many times you clean it. Hope DD is better today and you have no more of it.

libralady - still about your hol glad you got insurance sorted don't you just love MN sometimes?

Right off to do some more housework before a friend comes up for lunch.

NikNakF · 10/03/2008 10:21

Morning to all and newbies,

Monkey - thoughts with you x

Hope the rest of you had a good weekend - I was super moody and grumpy but settled now so hopefully glowing and happy forever more now.

Oh re: Mat clothes, sister just bought me a heap from Benneton and Gap! Never would have tried then but they are really lovely...

Have a great day

PS isaidno - we in the process of moving our sofa bed out too, nursery here we come!

libralady · 10/03/2008 10:48

You are absolutely right SK MN is wonderful. Just wish I knew about it when having DS1. I have learnt so much valuable information which has been a huge help. Plus it's nice to 'speak' to others in the same situation.
I hate being ill, day time tv is so crap! It's not as though the weather is any good to sit out in the garden.

EEC · 10/03/2008 11:36

I'm with you on mn! It has been a lifeline for me, living abroad, and knowing no pregnant people at all, or even those with young children. It really keeps me sane (well, nearly!). Thanks all of you (group hug?

lovelylou · 10/03/2008 11:42

Hi everyone. Had such an awful week, dd has had sickness bug and i have a awful head cold. Work are far from understanding so not looking forward to going back tomorrow. I work in a nursery so you think they would be extra understanding but they just see it as an inconvenience.
Hope everyone is well and hope we hear from monkey soon x

JODIEhavingababy · 10/03/2008 11:47

Gosh there are alot of bugs going round! big hugs to everyone who's feeling poorly!! My DH has amn flu! TBH the bed sheets are ringing wet in the morning, so he is abit sick! so I do give him a bit of sympathy! hopefully DS or myself won't come down with it!

I agree MN has been ace, none of my friends are PG and although I have alot of 'mummy friends' from first time round, we have all forgotten what it's like, all the niggles and concerns. It's lovely to 'talk' to like minded people!!! (Jodie goes all soppy!)

MissChika · 10/03/2008 13:05

Morning all - actually just realised it's afternoon it has taken me that long to catch up on post!!

Welcome to the newbies! Hope everyone is feeling well today and not too depressed by this horrendous weather. I got absolutely drenched on the way into work and am now hogging the one fan heater that we have!

Re boobtalk - being usually flatchested having 34C boobs has felt quite weird!! I am growing quite fond of them now though as some of my tops look much better with a bit of cleavage! . DP is obviously happy with them too!

The weekend was over far too quickly and I didn't do any of the things that I set out too which is v disappointing. DP and I have set aside some time at the weekend to go and look at some cots (at last). Still haven't bought anything for the baby yet!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Oh, and agree re MN - it's great to be able to talk to you all and get such great tips and advice!

Kaz1967 · 10/03/2008 14:19

Afternoon everyone how are things?

LilyToTheB · 10/03/2008 14:54

Hi all! Not enjoying the weather, it's horrible down here today!
Got loads to do as well, just can't muster up the energy to do it!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend

JODIEhavingababy · 10/03/2008 15:08

Just dawned on me that I'm using MN far too much. had to pick up DS from nursery and left a note for the gas man to say EXactly that!!! I'm sure he wouldn't know what a DS was!!!!!!
