LOL JODIE Well mor than happy is this one turns out to be a boy, although I just want them healthy an to arrive safely I lost a girl and part of me would like this little one to be a boy.

sweetkitty · 07/03/2008 15:24

Since last July EVERY newborn baby I know that has been born has been a boy, I'm bucking this trend though.

On a sadder not tomorrow would have been the due date of the baby I lost in August it's hard to see the March birth annoucements although I am pleased for all the ladies. DP doesn't seem to feel the same sadness as I do as he said we wouldn't be having this little girl now.

kitty know what you mean I have always struggle when Olga was born (11 Feb) and when she was due (10 July) this little one is due 18 July not sure how I will cope but you have to go on and at least this will be a positive memory for that time of year

NikNakF · 07/03/2008 15:49

Afternoon ladies,

SK, Kaz - Big hugs x

Well my back is in agony but it's the end of the week and the baby books I bought (Ford, Hogg and some stories for the little man) have arrived.

Also my Davina and pilates in preg DVD have come - I doubt I'll ever open them but one can keep hoping!

Have a wonderful weekend all of you, I need to put my tree trunks up and try and relax I think x

hubarbspong · 07/03/2008 16:54

Just a wee update, dw is doing really well, getting bigger by the day. She can feel widget moving quite a bit, but so far I've missed out.
I think we've decided on most things we need. Ordering the Amby nest soon and the pram etc next month (takes about 6 weeks).
Every now and again I get a real shock when I think how close it is. Really glad I signed up to this and often show dw things I've read. Thanks again for all the support and help.

isaidno · 07/03/2008 17:49

Min - I have placenta praevia at the moment too, but mine is overlying - which means completely covering the exit. If yours is only slightly low (sometimes called abutting) there is very good chance it will move. With DS1 my placenta was abutting, and it moved by 34 weeks scan.

I am worried mine won't move enough this time - my scan is at 34 weeks (17 May) to check. C section is bottom of my list of desires - I really want another home birth.

I think I am right to say a c section is the only option if the placenta does not move enough.

Congrats on the girl btw xx

isaidno · 07/03/2008 17:50

SK - hope your knitting got repaired. I am on my 3rd square for the blanket.

pigleychez · 07/03/2008 18:55

Hi all,

Hope everyones well.

Had our scan this afternoon. Thanks for the well wishes
Baby was hiding its face from us and we couldnt get a good view. I too was wriggling around but it made no difference! Was sent off for a walk around the hospital to try to move bubba.
When we tryed again luckily baby had moved enough to see what we needed. We stayed strong and held back in asking what flavour even though it was tempting.
I shall pic a pic on my profile. We got 5 this time!

mcchesers - congrats on the Boy

tafftaff- how was the scan?

Monkey- Thinking of you,Any more news?

Min- congrats on the girl

beepbeep · 07/03/2008 19:18

isaidono - i also have placenta previa, i had really good birth last time and would be gutted if this ended up with c-section, whether the section is necessary depends on the level of the placenta previa - i assume they decide at final scan, friend had natural birth with low level PP but was induced because of it, however another friend had a more serious level and she had no option but c-section. lets hope they move up! I've got a scan at 25 weeks (10 days) due to poss problems with the baby so hopefully they can tell me if it's moving up or not.

RUMPEL · 07/03/2008 19:32

Hi ALL,

SWEETKITTY/KAZ - I am the same when my first LO would have been due . Don't think you ever get over it you just kinda live with it. I must admit it does make it much easier to bear when you have a LO to look after and laugh with.

SWEETKITTY - can I dig for info re food microbiology? Don't know if you'll know but it is worth a try. It is a bit but whenever I eat fish my urine always smells of fish for 2 days afterwards It's horrid. Any idea why?

MONKEY - any news?

Congrats on all the new colours everyone.

RE DUMMIES - I was a total no dummy person until DD came along. She sucked her fingers constantly and I relented after 3 days and gave her a dummy - bliss! I agree I don't like seeing a toddly with them but she likes it when she is sleepy and also when her teeth are sore.

Felt a bit bleurgh again today and am shattered. I have still only put on 4lbs I just don't undestand it my belly and boobs feel huge and I look just as saggy and baggy everywhere else as I did before?

Take care all.xxx

tafftaff · 07/03/2008 19:32

Hi all,

Thanks for all the good luck messages. You guys are fab!

The scan went well and all is fine. Looks like none of the babies want to willingly show their hearts. Mine was a little b*gger too and refused to show it until I walked around for 15 mins. Eventually they put me on their new super-machine and that did the job! Legsy, I am sure it will all be fine and that your little one will reveal all in a couple of weeks.

Pigley, congrats on your scan and well done for not giving in to temptation to find out the sex. I was only freaked out by one thing and that was when the baby decided to push it's face against the scan thing and we had this image of a squished up face staring back! Am sure that's meant to be lovely but was a bit too surreal for me!

Anyway, am off on a non-skiing holiday for a week so good luck everyone with their scans and I look forward to a marathon catch up session when I get back.

Evening ladies (and gent), just a quick post, for free nappies, heaven knows we'll need them!!!

www.freenappies.net/free-nappies-club?referal_id=119283

Don't know if it will work, but I suppose its worth a try!

JODIEhavingababy · 07/03/2008 21:07

Actually don't bother, I;ve just tried and it all looks abit of a faf!

Well done you girlies that have had the scans today! I just can't wait for mine!!!

Did anyone go to the Baby show last weekend>? Was it any good?

sweetkitty · 07/03/2008 21:28

Evening all have just spent most of the evening unpicking my knitting but now have a completed back.

tafftaff - congrats on your scan and not finding out, you girls that are having surprises have wills of steel I would have to ask, I'm terrible.

Rumpel - would hazard a guess that it's some sort of amino acid from the fish coming out in your urine, probably nothing to worry about I know sometimes mine smells funny and also is a weird colour, those Pregnacare vitamins sent it luminous yellow, think it's just your bodies way of getting rid of toxins.

beepbeep/isaidno - hope you both have moving placentas

pigley - congrats on your scan too

kaz - sorry to hear you lost a LO as well

Oh a lighter note I spotted a bright cerise pink Phil and Teds today, DP said no way he is pushing a bright pink buggy and he is already surrounded by enough pink. I said well it's your fault for having pink sperm, that shut him up poor bloke. DD1 has told him we have 2 boy cats and thats enough boys.

OP posts:
isaidno · 07/03/2008 22:34

lol at pink sperm!

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 07/03/2008 22:39

i do a lot of blaming dp's sperm sweetkitty

he always retorts that i am too alkaline!

Kaz1967 · 07/03/2008 23:47

LOL kitty I agree with her I have one boy cat and he is quite enough he farts and snores

libralady · 08/03/2008 07:43

Morning all, I'll catch up in a minute but just have a quick question.
We've just booked a holiday on impulse and got a great bargain to boot however I've now discovered a problem - insurance. Am having problems finding an insurance comapny that will cover up to 32/33 weeks.
Thought we'd be OK as check out all the websites prior to booking and oh yes you can fly until 35 weeks pregnant checked with the tour operator etc etc. I'm beginning to panic. I will be 31+5 on flight out and 32+5 on way back. Can anyone help with any helpful suggestions?

Minkus · 08/03/2008 08:42

morning all

libra- think if you get a letter from your doctor (they charged me for one when I was 30 weeks last time) saying that you are fit and well insurance companies can sometimes be ok. Worth a shot, maybe you'd have to check with individual insurers though so might be a bit of a faff. Good luck- where are you hoping to be off to?

bebejones · 08/03/2008 08:50

Going back to work has really got in the way of MN! Have missed a week and has taken me 45mins to catch up!! Dont have a lot to report. Am still sick without fail every morning and some evenings, so can totally sympathise with anyone else who is still in that position! Scan is next Thurs....am trying to be positive although DH keeps reminding me it's important and not just about finding out what it is, which makes me panic! Will come back soon when I have something more 'valuable' to post!

libralady · 08/03/2008 08:50

We've booked for a weeks sun, r & r in Kefalonia. It's my favourite place. Can't wait. Just want the headache of getting insurance out of the way. It is just so frustrating.

cass66 · 08/03/2008 10:06

hi guys. feel totally low today. my 3 yr old is currently child from hell, arguing and whinging whenever I ask her to do something she doesn't want to (like walk to school to get her sister etc). it's really getting me down, esp as I feel it may be my fault for not being full of energy and enthusiasm in general. hubby just says it's a phase, which isn't really useful, I just seem to shout at her, get very cross and want to put myself on the naughty/calming down step!!!

a friend suggested I may be low in iron (I don't eat much meat as hubby is veggie), I just feel down and tearful and lacking in enthusiasm for life in general.

and then I feel ungrateful as we really don't have problems like some people. hugs??

Heffa · 08/03/2008 10:39

Sorry to hear you're feeling down, I hope your day gets better

tafftaff · 08/03/2008 11:41

Libralady, found a thread on MN that might help (go to page 2) www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=3&threadid=66722. Looks like it's worthwhile calling medibroker. I've had a quick look at their site and IHI travel look like they cover up to 36 weeks. Please don't take my word for it but give them a call for confirmation. Hope this helps.

sweetkitty · 08/03/2008 12:04

cass - 3 year olds can get like this, I think mine are getting fed up being cooped up indoors as well, they keep asking to get out in the garden but it's a mud bath out there. So far today we have had torrential rain, hailstones, thunder, lightening, sun and it's v windy! DP has gone out for the day for a lads day watching rugby too. Once the weather changes and we can get them outside it will be much better.

bebejones - sorry to hear you are still feeling sick all the time, must drag you down. Still look forward to your scan.

libralady - at your holiday plans haven't any advice latest I have flown is 27+5 weeks.

Feeling a bit low myself today for obvious reasons.
