Congratulations purplejennyrose two girls is fab and you will have a lovely age gap as well.

Scan place phoned to say they had a cancellation and could I come in tonight, unfortunately I couldn't but they have brought my appointment forward on Saturday am SOOOO excited!

Paula - I was thinking of you re the tarot reading have you thought about getting a private scan to find out? Might be worth it to take the doubt away and that way you know and you can get used to it before LO is here. I think thats why i want to know so much, I can get my head around it more if I know IYSWIM?

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 28/02/2008 19:55

purple jenny - congratulations and glad all is ok!

Swetkittty

NO ! I am glad i dont know and feel ike i am doing the grieving now ( sounds silly but i am just being honest) so i should feel better in a few days

it is odd. during thee scan i panicked a bit about problems baby could have so felt huge relief after but the lady's manner etc got me brooding

stared at pic today ( it is awful which is why we were not charged as baby facing wrong way and flyng around) and i swear i saw balls!

lazyhippo · 28/02/2008 20:28

Hi all, sorry not to have posted for a while- its taken me ages to catch up with everyones news. Congratulations and welcome to everyone new.
Vomiting recurred, but ok now, and we had another scan this week because my spina bifida screening test was raised, but everything looks ok. Clot is finally shrinking but still waiting for the bleeding to stop. Its lovely finally feeling able to talk about names and prams. Fun stuff!
xx

sweetkitty · 28/02/2008 22:00

lazyhippo - that is fantastic news, hope that clot finally gets the hint and buggers off.

paula - sorry didn't know if I was being insensitive about saying you should find out only thinking what I would do. I don't know how you can tell anything from scan pics although there is a website somewhere where they have pics and you do a quiz to guess girl or boy from the ultrasound and see if you get it right.

Have just watched BBC3 about the Truth about Childbirth found it very annoying TBH all they kept going on about was a watermelon coming out your fanjo and how much it hurts and it's about a bit more than that. Got v emotional at the birth bit at the end and sobbed like a baby DP was laughing at me.

jocesar · 28/02/2008 22:47

Morre- I'm up at 4am on the nose every day- roll out of bed, wee, then cannot sleep again until I have to ge up for work at 8am. Why 4am?

Quite excited as I think I felt baby move for the first time today- felt like some wind moving but not quite the same! Would that be the baby?

libralady · 29/02/2008 06:26

I have the 4am wee break as well. Luckily I can get back to sleep but then my alarm goes off at 5.30 so I can get up for work.
Doesn't matter if I have a drink through the evening or not!
Oh well last day until the weekend.
Are any of you unmarried ladies planning on proposing today? It's the traditional day for it isn't it?
Although I will feel sorry for any babbas born today. Imagine only having a proper birthday only once every four years!
St David's Day tomorrow so will try and make an effort to celebrate in some shape or form.
Catch you later. Off to work now.

libralady · 29/02/2008 06:29

Oh and does anyone else have leaky boobs yet? I'm only 22+3 and I definately have something already!

isaidno · 29/02/2008 07:22

jocesar - that def sounds like movements - I always think it feels like bubbles to start with.
libralady - no leaks here!
sweetkitty - not long til your scan now!!

My centre of balance must have shifted overnight because I fell over putting my shoe on and banged my head on the wardrobe . No bruise luckily!

sweetkitty · 29/02/2008 10:36

Morning all I felt kind of funny waking up this morning then I realised it was because I had a full nights unbroken sleep there was also a little DD1 in beside me and I hadn't realised. Had to wake both of them at 7.50am for nursery. Pouring down today so going to stay in and do some housey things I have been meaning to do for ages.

jocesar - yes definitely sounds like movement [gein]

libralady - no leaky boobs here yet but oh my nipples are so sensitive.

isaidno - ouch

OP posts:
shortshafe · 29/02/2008 10:53

Hi all, not been about for ages as been very very busy! Glad everyone is ok and all the babies are starting to wiggle and kick - I love lying in bed feeling it dancing about!

libralady - I'm a couple of weeks behind you so not leaking yet - think I started about 22/23 wks last time though. yuck. Am with sweet kitty on the sensitive nipples - everytime I go out in the cold they really hurt !

Minkus · 29/02/2008 11:33

Lazyhippo & shortshafe glad things are all ok with you, was wondering where you'd been! There are quite a few more of us that haven't been around for a while, Min912 Mummypig Minipink and Cass66 and quite a few others WHERE ARE YOU???

I am thankful that my boobies have calmed down a bit now and although they are huge and veiny they are only a tiny bit itchy and not tender any more.

Plus I am v pleased as I have hit on a sickness reliever- hot chocolate! Not your highlights/options low cal rubbish but the full fat milk plus HOW much sugar? variety A cup every few hours with chewing gum non stop in between has really worked this morning, I always knew that my blood sugar was a factor in the hyperemesis but obviously have been underestimating how much I needed!

As a result ds and I have had a really lovely morning, we've been "doctor" to his favourite toys, made cakes, water play- basically had a great time. We're now snuggled up each having a hot choc and he's engrossed in the tv, a bit of a wind- down tactic to get him chilled enough to eat his lunch without racing round the house

Hope everyone else is having a nice day too- it's friday yaaaaay!

NikNakF · 29/02/2008 12:32

Hi guys, morning/'noon!

Well car broke down last night and had to get towed and very horrible being alone and pregnant (wouldn't have bothered me before!!), but off today so looking at 'net and Baby Show stuff...

Eeek leaky nipps? Not yet!

Yum on the hot choc

How's movements going? Can definitely feel him move a lot but no kicks - when do they set in?

Have a lovely Friday guys!

Kaz1967 · 29/02/2008 15:50

jocesar what is it about 4am? I wake up at that time too normally for a wee, a drink and something to eat I don't have any trouble going back to sleep though.

Yep it's probably movement. I have felt this little one move since I was 12 weeks it's nothing major and initially only when I was lying on my right side. It's different feelings like someone gently flicking my insides, bubbles popping, or almost tickling stroking inside when it feels like this little one is doing somersaults. Last night did the sex thing something they did not like and I was most defiantly kicked

isaidno · 29/02/2008 16:01

lol kaz - you prob woke him / her up!!

sweetkitty · 29/02/2008 17:05

Evening all what a miserable day. I'm off out tonight for a meal with some of the girls for toddlers so nice to chat without having to give children juice, put them into cars, stop them fighting, wipe snotty noses etc. Going to an Italian and tomorrow we are having Wagamama for lunch ill be a right pig but I suppose I won't having any alcohol. Will have to have something with the DDs just now though no way I will last to 8.

Minkus - go for the hot chocolate if it is making you feel better, don't worry about the calories you need them, get some whipped cream on top as well.

NikNak - sorry about your car

OP posts:
cass66 · 29/02/2008 18:58

hello all. will try the hot chocolate, as although most of my preg sickness has gone, I still feel sick in evenings. had discovered chocolate spread on toast works well, will get the cocoa out tonight.

still feels weird knowing when this baby is going to be born (or yanked out kicking and screaming and surprised!), but I agree it is much easier knowing. I can book grandparents for the other kids, hubby can book paternity leave, I can book my maternity leave knowing for definate when it will happen etc. kind of balances the negatives, I suppose, although I had harboured a secret hope to have a 'normal' delivery this time. oh well!

managed a swim this morning, but now feel knackered after gym club with 3yr old, a spot of shopping, then school pickup and tea etc. as I was putting littlun in her car seat in the car park the wind blew my car door open and it bashed the car next to us, which, of course had grumpy old man in it. well, he got out of his car, made a huge show of inspecting his door then knocked on my window and told me off, even though there was no damage done. miserable sod, made me grumpy for the rest of the afternoon. he should try contending with a winging 3 yr old, being preg and being late for pickup, not to mention the wind and rain!!

junior3 seemed to like swimming though!!

supposed to be going round to a friends tonight for drinks, chat and singing (she has a PS3 kareoke game!) don't feel like it now, esp this weather, feel like a bath and hot chocolate!!!

JODIEhavingababy · 29/02/2008 21:23

Hello from sunny Spain... Glad everyone is OK. And I'm glad I'm having better weather!

I had the crappest day today, had some really bad news and can't stop crying, it's awful. And being extra hormonal doesn't make it easier. Just needed to come on here and cheer myself up with some 'normality' as everytime I speak about it my voice goes abit wobbly.

On a lighter note DS is really growing up, he has learnt a new word every day for the last 4 days, he even said his own name today, I'm so proud of him. I can't believe he's the same tiny baby I held in my arms 18 months ago, they grow up so quick. I think that I'll keep this one as a baby longer, I've been so desperate for DS to do things, roll over, crawl, walk, talk etc, I feel I've rushed it... This one will be in Nappies and bottles until 18!!!!

Baby really kicking today, I think he'she likes Spain and being with nanny and grandad!

Sorry for long maudlin post, but feeling abit that way

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 29/02/2008 23:33

aww jodie you poor lamb

try to enjoy your jollys love i am so sorry you have had bad news

your little bab is telling you s/he loves you with all those kicks x

Poledra · 29/02/2008 23:36

Jodie, have seen your other thread - I'm so sorry.

isaidno · 01/03/2008 08:22

Sympathies to your friend Jodie xx

Things are more trivial here - I am upset because my right calf has erupted into a mass of varicose veins

JODIEhavingababy · 01/03/2008 09:01

Thanks guys, feel abit better today, just wish I was abit closer to home but there is nothing I could do for her anyway even if I was she has a lovely big family who are all there for her. I'll see her when I get back.. In the mean time I'll have a lovely time with mum and dad and enjoy all the lovely Spanish weather, food and hospitality.....

ISAIDNO - sorry about your varicous veins, not nice, and can be painful.. Take it easy, and take advantage of the weekend to have a rest!

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 01/03/2008 10:39

sweetkitty ...........is it today!!!!!!???

i will have to read back but woke up thinking of you

good luck x

isaidno · 01/03/2008 10:53

PYBF - I think you're right. SK gets to find out what colour she's having today!

EEC · 01/03/2008 12:18

Got back from UK this morning after horrendous stormy night on the ferry. No sleep at all! I too am generally waking up in the night and am awake for at least 2/3 hours after loo break, so am now completely shattered. No solution to this that I know of.

On a cheery note had scan on Wed. Perfect in every way. It was amazing. (Surprise for me - she says as she goes off to examine photos!) DCs came in too and they were so excited. They are 10 and 11 (another big age gap here Morre!), so really appreciated it. I seem to be able to feel the kicking a lot more since then. It really looked like a proper person - the profile of the face was so clear.

Am 21 weeks tomorrow - DH can't feel it yet. Can any one else feel the kicks from outside yet?

Sorry to hear your news Jodie.
