It will be an ongoing thing throughout the rest of my pregnancy, PYBF. They will keep monitoring me to check the titre level, and if it increases, then we're in trouble. I will get a much clearer picture when we see the specialist at the end of March. Plus dh and I are both scientists so have been looking it up ourselves. It's not very common or well-researched though, so it's difficult. In fact, one website said that some OBs don't think it's a problem at all, so don't even monitor it.
One of the things thst makes me really sad is that this is going to be our last baby, and I really wanted to enjoy being pg (as much as you can with other little ones around). Now, it's going to be worrisome all the way.

Had our scan on tuesday, its a girl!!!

Good morning everyone else - all fine here. Going to the pushchair shop this morning!

Well the earth def moved for me last night!!! and dh was in the N/E!!!!!
Got woke just before 1am, bed shaking things falling off bathroom shelves and cabinets!!!!
Wondered what the hell was happening thought we had a poltergiest earth quake was not the first thing i thought of.

Have to pop into work today, just dropping some stuff off. Really don't want to go in, everyone will be very well meaning I'm sure but I could do without all the inevitable questions. And I'm sure there will be an element of "well she didn't look ill to me" -I'm hardly going to turn up with my trackie bottoms on like most of the rest of the time
am I! If they could be me for a few days I'm sure they'd get fed up pretty quick. Guess I feel a bit guilty at having this time off work even though it's on a sick note from the dr.

We are both really excited about our new arrival, my poor dp does not have the brain space to do much surfing just now, she calls it 'baby brain'. Have not bought anything yet, but are frantically saving up for a huge spree, cot, pram, all the other bits and bobs...[eek]
Still have a bit of morning sickness, she has totally gone off coffee and chocolate. Dairy is slowly coming back, but can't touch cheese yet.
Lots of ginger biscuits, yoghurt and veggies.
Have to think of something for cooking tonight (am on weeks annual leave from work).

I felt the Earth move last night too, but I thought it was a dream (we had an eart5hquake here about 5 years ago, epicentre in Dudley, so a bit closer) and I woke up thinking that I felt like I did when that happened, checked my watch and went back to sleep, didn't think anything of it until I saw the news this morning though!

I'm off to see my mum and dad in sunny Spain tomorrow! Just me and DS (DH goimg skiing ) Am a bit nervous about having to deal with him all by myself on the flight, but it's only 2 hours so I'm sure I'll cope (just about!) I probably won't see much of him for the rest of the week though! I'll keep up to date on here though as I'll have nothing else to do with my evenings!

Hi addes myself on the list too. It may sound quite stupid but what does DD and DS mean??

DD is 'Darling Daughter' and DS is 'Darling Son' There is an acronym list at the top of the page where you can look at things like that. I got very confused when I first started too!

Not much to report here another horrendous night with DD2 this time, she was up about 8 times and was boiling hot as well. She settles better for DP though (think she knows I'm a soft touch) she's a Mummy's girl during the day but at night if I go in to settle her it makes it worse, DP goes in she stops crying. DD1 was up once as well, keep thinking to July when I will be up at least twice with a newborn as well. At least I can use the excuse well I have to get up every night with DB3 so DP can get up to the girls! Now we take turns.

hubarbspong - hello and welcome to mumsnet, you must get your wife on here as well and inroduce her (not that we don't want you around) but it's great for those final weeks when you are on maternity leave and going a bit mad.

poledra - sorry you are having to go through this hope you are feeling a bit better this morning.

Jodie - at going off to Spain for a few days, I could do with some sun just now.

Right better go and sort out lunch I wish I had a personal chef I could just call up and place an order although that would make me even greedier. Oh and my oven blew up last night (3rd time in 2 1/2 years) so will have to think abotu meals until it gets fixed. Bet I get oven chips cravings.

Now does anyone want my cold. I've had it for 5 weeks now and there still appears to be no sign of it leaving me.
Spent the morning tidying the house. We were decorating before I went on holiday so there was no point in dusting, and of course DH didn't think to do it whilst I was away. So much for my day off!
Oh and I picked up some newborn babygrows and vests off of freecycle today. Bargain! I've got 18 of each all worn only a couple of times. Helps with the budget a bit.
Now I'm off to do a pile of ironing before picking DS up from nursery.

I bought a buggy today!! The petite star zia. I actually only went to look at it, but really liked it, so bought it!! In cranberry, which is a bright pink. I am not going to open it until my 34 week scan is passed - in case they find a willy and I have to swap it for blue!

Now all I have to buy is a cot mattress, a v pillow, and decorate the nursery. Can I fit it all in over the next 18 weeks??

POLEDRA - I don't know what anti-E is? Hope it is all okay for you though - it is such a scary time being pg for some people. I can never relax either until wee baby is here.

LIBRA - are you sure it is not sinus probs you have? I get very congetsed sinuses when pg and it feels snotty like a cold but without the other symptoms - mucuous membranes swell in pg - apparently that's what causes it.

SWEETKITTY - you are just down the road form me as I am in Stirling - hence the same (ish) weather. Hope your oven gets fixed soon - I bought 1 from ebay for my last house.

ISAIDNO - I got the blue one (even though I have a DD) as I thought it would do for both (in case I have a blue one this time) as it fits in the boot of the mini really well.

TJUICE - well done you on the exercise - I am kancked after climbing the stairs!! So unfit - amazing how quickly your muscles go.
Back to belly dancing and exercising when this littlie is born!

Actually felt okay yesterday and took LO to to Mummy/Toddler group (first time ever) and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Met some ladies too (don't know anyone here yet) so it was nice.

Scan for us on Monday - tremble.

RUMPEL - you've probably heard of anti-D, well anti-E is another type of blood antigen where you can be E-negative and your baby is E-positive (inherited from its father). So, after your first baby with this, your body produces antibodies against this E antibody. The problem is, it can mean that your body begins to attack and destroy your baby's red blood cells and causes the baby to develop anaemia. Anti-D problems are far more common and so there is now good therapeutic treatment for that. Anti-E is rarer (and less severe usually) so has not had the research done it for anti-D. Sorry, probably TMI, but I'm a scientist, I can't help myself.
DH being all positive, saying it's almost always mild and treatable, but it's not a good feeling to know your own body could be attacking the very thing you want to protect. So let's all think positive thoughts for the titre level to STAY THE SAME for the next 20 weeks. Please!

hi guys. had my scan, baby ok, having a surprise!

BUT I have a low lying placenta which is half covering my cervix. so am up for another scan at 34 weeks to see where it is. it's possible to get the placenta attached to my prev section scars in my uterus, so if still low I might need an MRI scan to determine the extent of the placenta. scary stuff huh!!!

And I have a date for my elective section, I am now due on 10th July at 9am. again, quite scary to finally decide and have it fixed.

the doctor who I saw was awful, really abrupt, assumed I would want a planned section, no discussion at all (I am quite well informed) and then was a bit stroppy when sorting out a date, as my period dates differ from my scan dates by 10 days, and I'm quite sure of my dates, so I didn't want a date too soon, or the baby will be too early. not sure if I'm making myself clear, but I don't like being stroppy!

but all is well, I think, so heh ho.

Hello Ladies,
Had scan today, everything as it should be, which is a relief as I've had a few problems with midwife not finding heartbeat, and size of uterus being only 14 wekks, when at the time it should have been 19.
We are having a girl too, which is just fab news for us as we have a ds already.

I do keep an eye on the posts although I don't post very much, and i've been following everyones progress....you all love to chat, which is nice!

Re: the uterus size issue, how did that get resolved? Was it one of those inexact science things that always terrify us mums to be but midwives just casually mention and expect us not to worry about, or had they miscalculated? And how did you find out it was the wrong size? Just curious, sorry to bombard you with questions!

Welcome to Hubarbspong -Refreshing to see a husband getting so involved. Not saying that mine isnt but gets all the info told to him through me anyway!

Scan is next friday and cant wait to see how much baby has grown! Lots of people have commented that im big for 20 weeks so be interesting to see if it is big or im just carrying alot of water or baby's laying nearer the front etc.

Thanks again for all the kind comments, did not realise I was the only man on this thread.
My missus will post soon, she has read a few things that I've shown her and thinks its a great way to get / give support.
Are these NCT classes good value? been looking at the website and it does seem a good idea,if only for the opportunity to meet other mums in your area.
