Morning, and congrats everyone on recent scans! Glad everything is OK!

Am 20 weeks today! YEAH, so now it's a count down! (Kind of)

I really need the weather to pick up now, all my winter coats are getting abit 'snug' and I'll be buggered if I'm going out and buying one this late in the game! Atleast the sun is shining here today, even if it is a bit blustery! Might take DS out for a lovely long walk when I pick him up from nursery (once again am supposed to be working, but failing miserably!)

Minkus · 26/02/2008 10:05

I am sooo with you on being happy about counting down Jodie! 18 weeks and 6 days to g, well in theory anyway... (hopefully only 16 weeks really!)

Yay MWB on scan, glad all is well

xxx

MrsHOP · 26/02/2008 11:38

morning gals,

hope all is well, we have had progression in the HOP household, DH has bought a crib!! I want to hang on until after scan on 10th before we go and buy lots of bits...am thinking wallpaper for nursery and really like this

oooh do boobs disappear after BFing then, I wouldn't mind losing a bit off mine (or will I wish I never said that?!)

this week I have been mostly eating pineapple so far...

Heffa · 26/02/2008 11:53

Does anyone else feel horribly emotional? Up till now I've remained (reasonably) rational but over the last week or so I've turned into some evil grinch. I'm OK at home, but all my readers (I work in a library) are irritating me beyond belief. Luckily I don't see them face-to-face much otherwise I'd probably lose it all together.

Is this normal or am I just going bonkers? I guess it's possible that they've all conspired against me to annoy me

NikNakF · 26/02/2008 12:31

Morning/'noon!

Sweetkitty - try it

Mummywanna - I was the same after the scan, weepy and needing to shop! Enjoy.

Jodie/Min - Counting down from 21 weeks today!

MrsHOP - That is so cute! How exciting. Thinking of doing some painting but may end up the same way as the knitting (back of the cupboard!!).

Heffa - Me too, thought the pregnancy hormones had settled but guess not... Speaking of which -

Guys any of you have loud tempers/arguements? Had one with DH today, about nothing much but shouted a lot and feel so bad about upsetting baby

Poledra · 26/02/2008 12:35

Yes NikNak, had terrible row in the car one morning with both children in the back . DH is a really lazy bugger in the morning, mind, but I shouldn't have done it in front of the children, especially when dd1 was telling us to stop it.

MissChika · 26/02/2008 12:38

Afternoon everyone!

I'm having a v bloated day today. I woke up this morning and it felt like I had a huge rock in my abdomen. Very weird. On the plus side the wee one does seem to be moving around in there. 22 weeks today and one week until the scan - can't wait!

MrsH - love the wallpaper. It's bloody gorgeous!

NikNak - have started knitting in the past but my knitting needles and one ball of wool have been resigned to the desk drawer for the past 4 months!!

No major issues with hormones although I have noticed that I've been a bit ratty with my mother!

Monkey24 · 26/02/2008 12:43

Hi All

Oh the bra thing!
I will be going to Mothercare next weekend to purchase. Does anyone else have a small back - I am having a nightmare trying to find maternity bras that fit my back but contain my boobs?!

Also, I think I have a lazy baby - no movement as yet and 19 weeks today, I just hope baby doesn't keep all it's movements to wack me one when it does decide to move!

morre · 26/02/2008 13:32

hi hope you don't mind me joining, am 18 weeks, 2nd child, with an almost 9 year gap!

sweetkitty · 26/02/2008 13:33

hi morre course not the more the merrier welcome to our little thread is that us at 70 babies then? Wonder if thats a MN record for number of babies on an antenatal thread?

OP posts:
morre · 26/02/2008 13:47

Thanks, I am happy to say that I have just quit my job and will be concentrating on socialising this time round. 70 babies oh gosh!
About the boobs going after breastfeeding, yes unfortunately they do, my DH called them socks, but funny enough as I gained a few kilos (nothing drastic) over the years they have returned! After this baby I guess it will be back to even longer socks lol

sweetkitty · 26/02/2008 13:51

I agree after DD2 my boobs were so deflated and have only really plumped up since being pregnant again.

Prior to having DD1 I was a stone and a half heavier though so some of it might have been general weight loss. I have read it takes a year once you stop BFing for your boobs to regain some shape.

I kind of feel proud of my boobs they have fed two babies so have bound to take a few knocks and theres always Wonderbras! It's like stretchmarks too they are our badges of honour.

OP posts:
Heffa · 26/02/2008 14:18

I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling with my temper then! I'll continue to rant and rage (quietly).

Welcome Morre

I'm still in underwired bras as I can't find anything big enough in soft cup yet; there's a few in Bravissimo, but I'd rather save my money for feeding bras. Plus, the soft cups are so uncomfortable.

morre · 26/02/2008 14:29

Hi Heffa
I'm still in my normal underwired bras, they just look fuller (very full actually), I try to manage as long as I can in these. And need to get the courage to get out there and shop for Bras!

isaidno · 26/02/2008 14:31

MrsHOP - love the wallpaper - will look fab for a boy or girl.

I am grumpy too, although a little less tired than I have been. I think it is a pg woman's prerogative to moan and shout alot!

My boobs are starting to look fabulous though - a bouncy 34 B/C instead of a flaccid 32A! Shame they're still killing me!

morre · 26/02/2008 14:34

I used to have busy wallpaper like that when I was a child, I loved it, I used to count the images to fall asleep

RUMPEL · 26/02/2008 15:09

HI All,

Welcome newbies!

Nice wallpaper.

Blowing a gale up here today but had best sleep in about 8 months last night so awoke this morning feeling okay and managed to take DD to Mummy Toddler group for the first time. Met some nice Mummies and DD enjoyed it. Was knackered when we got home though.

I painted a mural on DD's room - old house got some stick on animals and painted a farm, fence, pond etc. This house painted a tree and flowers with fairies dotted around the place. Put some stick on butterflies and flowers on, and some fabric butterflies added pom poms (for some flowers), felt grass and felt fairie dress, ribbons and a wee elf door - it is nice as it has some texture as well as paint.

I'm going to paint a jungle in 1 of the rooms downstairs for a playroom for them. probably won't do the nursery until baby comes along and we know what flavour they are. Nursery is currently the study and still have loads to do in this house to get it 'right'.

I have my scan on Monday - will be glad to get it out of the way and know all is well.

I have been very emotional this week but I think it is because I have been seeing a new therapist. She is a cranioscaral therpaist, who also does emotional freedom technique (EFT). I have had quite a lot of horrible things happoen over the last 5 years and just felt that now I am feeling more able to start dealing with them and letting some of the negative stuff go. I am not very okay with crying but she was great and I feel that it has really helped shift some stuff. Going again tomorrow.

Well hope you are all okay - need to go move my car as the wind is getting up and don't want any tiles bashing it!!xx

TJuice · 26/02/2008 17:03

god i am such a pig. after a 7 month hiatus i just went to the gym. had a gentle work-out then cycled home and scoffed a pita crammed with ham, cheese and olive tapanade, a pack of crisps and an almond mars bar (frozen - love em like that).

and that's my pre-dinner snack . . .

i was hoping for some behemoth boobs but mine are just a bit bigger than normal (36c). my arse though, needs some work - its starting to look saggy. and although i have a bump, i still have love handles.

don't bother with the gym ladies! there are too many mirrors in there.

tjuice skulks crossly back to the sofa to think about food again . . .

Kaz1967 · 26/02/2008 18:46

Monkey24 depending on the size of your boobs you may find Bravissimo helpful they go down to a 30 back www.bravissimo.com/products/search.aspx?search=maternity

cass66 · 26/02/2008 19:00

on the bra subject, I am a totally different size in non underwired bras. usually 38 D in underwired bras when not pregnant, got myself measured at a very posh recommended lingerie shop in york recently and I came out with a 36 F non underwired bra. very comfy too.

although why do people want bigger boobs??? a D cup is plenty big enough, anything bigger is just uncomfy and ungainly.

Paulayates - I used to live in Otley, but moved to York just before my second daughter arrived. nothing but praise of Airdale hospital though, had my first daughter there and all my antenatal care with my second. and it's quite therapeutic looking out of the window and seeing the dales and lots of sheep!!

sweetkitty, if you pretend to your midwife you haven't felt movements, she'll listen for a heartbeat, not arrange a scan. sorry!!!

sweetkitty · 26/02/2008 20:43

cass66 - I think you are right that she will just listen to the heartbeat. I would just feel a bit better if I had an all's well from a 20 week scan (although I know it cannot tell you everything). I don't really want bigger boobs maybe a bit fuller than they were after BFing but a nice C cup would be more than enough for me

Tjuice - mmm stop it with listing the food sounds delicious, oh I had a nightmare with dinner tonight, put it on and thought I would do a few bits of ironing so I'm ironing away watching dinner and the long story short the oven blew up again (third time since we moved in) so no roast dinners or pizzas for us for a bit DP said he will treat me to Wagamama on Saturday before the scan though! One of the few good things about SPD is you have an excuse not to move very much or do much exercise for a few months downside is I will be so unfit once DB3 is here.

Rumpel - we are having horrendous weather as well, it's been raining non stop practically for 3 days now very windy too.

hello all and welcome to morre - you and your family are ridiculously good looking - your baby has got it made!

Feeling over stressed and over stretched with builders and scan tomorrow - baby had diarroeah and is supposed to be in its first full day ever of day care
i have to be out of the house all day anyway due to plasterer hell and generally life sucks

on a high note scan tomorrow and everybody well and happy - i am just a grump!

hope you are all better!

Poledra · 26/02/2008 21:39

Feeling very blue. Got a phone call this afternoon to tell me my anti-E titre is considered high, I need to go back for more blood tests at 22 weeks, then to see the foetal medicine specialist at 24 weeks. I know it's probably OK, but the worst case scenario is that my baby gets severe haemolytic disease and has to be delivered early in order to have blood tranfusions. Actually, that's not the worst - it can cause stillbirth though it's very rare, especially these days. I knew I had anti-E, it's just that it was no problem last time so i assumed it would be no problem this time.
Then, had to go pick up dd2 from cm, taking poorly dd1 with me. dd1 peed in her car seat while I was getting dd2 out of cm's house. I cried. Bit of an over-reaction but it was the last straw.
Sorry, feeling v v blue
