69 babies wow that is a lot

I am approaching 20 weeks this week but haven't got my scan until the end of next week . It doesn't help moving counties mid-pregnancy however, I am pretty impressed with the level of care that I have recieved since I have moved here.

Unfortunately, the hospital that I have opted for is totally swamped with scan requests so they have booked me in with Radiology. Should I be worried...will I be getting the same in-depth scan as I would in the antenatal ward ? Has anyone else experienced this?

tafftaff, where are you in Yorkshire?? with my first 2 pregs I was booked in at Airdale hosp near skipton and had most of my scans in the ultrasound/radiology dept, not on the antenatal ward. the same seems true for here in York, have my 20 week scan on weds!!

and welcome all newcomers.

oh, and I moved counties at 38 weeks preg - turned up to the hospital in labour without a local GP (the surgery was shut when we tried to register!) and with no local records, a past history of severe pre-eclampsia and em section and wanting to try for a normal vaginal delivery. one way to do it!!!

Scan tomorrow, excited but bit apprehensive, also seeing consultant tomorrow to see how damaged my arm is from car accident last year! Hoping they might settle then, not after lots of money just at least want what i'm out of pocket for.

Re: kicking - sorry if TMI but anyone had kicking so low it felt like it was coming out??

Mummywannabe - most of my kicking has happened very low (alot lower than last time) but as long as I can feel it, then it's nice (except on Sat when it decided to jump on my bladder!)

My scan in on the 13th aswell, will be 22+2 then, seems so long away I'm bursting to know what we are having! I haven't bought a thing yet, other than a pack of new born nappies, as I want to get some nice 'gender specific' stuff, i've already got LOADS of beige and white and cream from DS.

ooh cass my hospital is supposed to be airedale but i opt for the leeds teaching as i like big hospitals

My word you can all talk! Haven't had time to catch up with what has been happening - sorry guys.
Well had my scan today (21+6)and everything appears to be well. And it looks like we're having another boy! Yeah. Unfortunately the long cord was between it's legs but the sonographer was sure she saw something that looked like a penis and scrotum on more than one occasion. We've decided not to tell anyone (except you guys!) Now all we got to do is decide on a name we both like.
I'll go and catch up now.

All my scans are in the Radiology dept! But it is a very small hospital!! All antenatal stuff for me is at Stroud but as they only have a midwife led unit I have decided to have the baby at Gloucester. I liked the security in knowing that I wouldnt need to be transferred if something was to go wrong! So excited bout my scan but the 13th is just such a long way off! But I will be exactly 20weeks then....Im just being impatient!!

wow all these gender scans so exciting

i am very tired having work done on the house which means i have to stay out all day (plastering) very hard with ds and me pg

my scan is weds just trying to work out childcare logistics!

tafftaff my 20 week scan is not for 3 weeks so I will be 22 weeks

paula - poor you banished from your house as well not forever though, are you finding out the sex on Weds?

Do you think I should phone the MW and say DD2 jumped on my tummy and I haven't been getting much movement since? First part true second not, do you think I would get a scan? I am also going to say that I am stressed as I haven't seen the baby since 13 weeks so am worried about position of the cord etc especially as I want a homebirth? (true) still cannot believe they sthink one scan at 13 weeks is sufficient!

Hi all, big hello to all the new people! Have had my scan, and we definately didn't want to find out- so can join a 'surprises' list! Was actively trying to not see anything- although as new to all this didn't really know what to look for (well, there's the obvious!! I meant any signs on monitor or anything the staff let slip!).

Could I get some advice on maternity bras please? Is wearing underwire bras a problem? I have several good fitting (sadly still) and comfy (not pinching or too tight) underwire bras but have been told these can interfere? But have also been told this is an old wives tale- nothing about it in my book. Does anyone know any more? Thanks

carrieHD9 I was told when I got fitted that underwired were fine as long as they were properly fitted sadly my boobs have grown out of all proportion and they did not need to I am already in feeding bra's cos that is all that would fit

carrie - congrats on your scan re:bras I'm still in normal underwires too although my boobs have plumped up they are still fitting in most of my bras as my boobs had disappeared last time due to BFing so they were too small for my bras anyway. I remember wearing underwires last time too and was fine. I don't wear them all the time if I am in the house for the evening I will take my bra off (not leaking so far) so boobs have laods of time to breathe.

kaz1967 - you were up late last night hope you managed to get some sleep

Another distrubed night for us, DD1 came in with me at 4 this morning and was so restless think she still has a temp I gave her some Nurofen and she is still asleep, DD2 was up at 7.10am though, argh!!!!! Keep thinking to July when DB3 will be up BFing as well, oh well who needs a full nights sleep anyway (didn't have one for a year with DD2).

Morning all!
Just got to work so can use the computer now. My little moan for the day is the trip here and home is killing me! 1 hour 30 min from door to door and thats on a good day On a high note baby loves the train and is always bouncing around. Very hard to not just sit there grinning at my bump like a nutter iykwim

Re Bras - My boobs just seem to get bigger by the day! I think the best thing you can do is go to mothercare get measured and buy yourself a nice one. Dosen't matter if it's got wire or not as long as it fits and your comfortable.

Just had scan - all fine! baby was quite still for most of it but had been wriggling since 4am so most likely asleep, started moving more towards the end though! I cried like a nelly again! Seems so real, gonna go and buy some baby bits now, wanted to wait until after my scan so no stopping me now!

Oh meant to say gonna wait to find out the sex!
