Welcome to the second trimester

Fingers crossed for you Dizzy.

CC - did you have any side effects with citalopram? My DH is on escitalopram (not quite same thing? dunno) which gave him a horrendous week of 'black horrors' to begin with, worse than his actual condition, couldn't be left alone. He's a bit scared to come off it in case he gets side effects again.

Are tthere any anti depressants which are considered safe for breats feeding? When i was pg with dd I came off prozac rather suddenly, then after she was born really needed somehting but the gp said i'd have to stop bf so i didn;t take anything, until a good few months later when I went onto cipramil. Came off it over 2 years ago and v proud of myself esp considering the 2 mcs!!!

Buckets - about 3 days after starting citalopram my anxiety heightens and 'peaks' for about 24-36 hours. Feels really rough and yes, worse than the original symptoms. This is a well documented side effect and for me, is manageable. Re. side effects coming off them. I have had mild anxiety but nothing like when starting the tabs, but mainly get vertigo for a few weeks!

ALBS - I took an ad for 12 weeks after having ds, can't remember what it was called though! Yes it was safe for bfing, the psychiatrist and obstetrician agreed on it so must have been ok!

I think are few are BFing safe, I was told I would have to stop so didn't bother with them, but my GP isn't very good with ADs etc. There a pregnancy safe ones also, I went on some about this time last pregnancy, forgotten what they are though - I have been on so many! This time I am just trying to be "mind over matter" about it (started to feel abit depressed again in the last week or so) as last time during pregnancy it only lasted a month or so. It does help spring is on its way though

I am feeling so so tired today - DSs sleep pattern has gone up the creek (10-10, 11-7, 2am -10 etc!) but last night he fell asleep at 6.30 (bliss!) but bounced out of his cot at 2am totally awake - it was a nightmare. He eventually fell asleep on the bed about 5 ish, woke at 9 so fingers crossed he will not have a nap today and stay awake to about 7/7.30 and sleep until morning. At the awkward stage where he doesn't really need a daytime nap, but sometimes falls asleep about 3pm and will not be woken for 2 hours! Nightmare.

hi guys - so sorry for delay in posting!! was at hosp then weekly shop then collect girls then swimming lesson and then they've been as if possessed since home & this is first chance have had for one second to myself - apologies again

well it was good[ish] news everyone, not exactly the ALL clear but happy wriggling baby with good heartbeat and everything where it should be. Nice sonographer checked everything inclusing this area of membrane seperation, which is still there and has not all come away as yet BUT with everyweek am still going and as long as its still coming away as old blood its fine, its positive.

Have another scan in 2 weeks or if situation changes inbetween have to go back in. The lady I saw also explained it a bit better to me so am not as confused and Dr afterwards just wants me to be aware of any pains in stomach but apart from wind have not had any I asked was I still to be on lardy backside as going demented and he said was still to be resting as much as possible as they want this clot to come away naturally and not as result of something I've done - fair enough, will need to keep feeding my MN addiction then!

the sonographer told me that with an 'organised haematoma' (read clot to you and me) like mine, it will take time to come away completely and not to worry unless it turns red (new blood) again or have any pains.

So, am much happier as at least I know kind of know what the feck is going on. I don't know why this has happened but am not going to question anything else as seem to have been particularly lucky.

Have apt with Gp tomorrow, after dreaded tooth extraction in morning , who will probably sign me off again but am not going to argue with her over it having been made more aware of severity of situation - I live in a bubble sometimes!

am tired. Dd and i come back from rainbows (i'm a leader she's an underage rainbow). Dh was cooking but had turned on the top oven instead of the bottom one (oops) so dinner still a way off. lol, at least he did it not me!!

littlebit, laughing at your dinner. We got a new car today were so excited we went off for a drive leaving lasagne in the oven. It was ... crispy when we got back!

I assume since no one has mentioned it yet that no one had trouble with the earthquake? It was hot news this morning. I woke amidst a mild earthquake about 5 years ago. It sounded like a train coming then the whole house shook for a few minutes. Things like that don't happen here often even though I'm just a few hours from a fault line (The New Madrid Fault).

Today I walked a 23 minute mile on the treadmill at the YMCA....I think a turtle lapped me a couple of times. Then I did some free weights working on my arms. That's about the only area I might have a chance of keeping fit during this expansion. According to the scales I've only gained one and a half stones in 16 weeks. Not bad! The walk really gave me a much needed destresser (oddly more so than my massage on Saturday). I'll probably take DD swimming tomorrow after my preschool volunteer duties....I get to set up a petting zoo exhibit...yeah.

it may have been crispy but at least it was looked .

basically we had cooked potatoes, spinach and peas and raw chicken kievs. Lol we've eaten now though and all was cooked.

oops I can't convert...I've only gained half a stone in 16 weeks.

Alittlebitshy here's a link to answer your AD&Breastfeeding question here. The page has an odd sign in thing that comes up...I just hit refresh and it went away. The bottom line is there are lots of ADs that are available to breastfeeding mothers.

littlebit - sounds typical of me, in the past year (I guess since DH has been coooking more) everything of mine seems to go wrong! I did DS pizza and chips ( in itself!) , pizza needed 15 mins, chips 20 so I thought i'd take the pizza out 5 mins early (because I am backwards like that!) - took the pizza out and forgot about the chips! GOod job DS wasn't hungry! He is pea mad though and gobbled up those and a yoghurt.

VG - we got a new car today (well, DH is a chauffeur and he had to swap cars) I am dying for DH to get home so I can go in it - it's a mercedes van/mpv thingy (DH hates it, says it's like driving a tin van) but it's big with DVD players Dizzy - have some more {{hugs}} TS - I have lost weight so far this pregnancy, i'm err... quite big anyway so def. can't tell I have! Last time by about now I had put on about a stone! Think because my appetite hasn't returned, and when I do feel like eating it's a tiny amount or just fruit. I daresay i'll make up for it soon!

TS I asked GP to let me weigh myself last time was in and she said no, I had better things to worry about, I think though to be honest she knows am overweight anyway and wouldn't want me going all anorexic on her - lol. I got another scan pic today - looks like a half baby as legs sticking straight up in the air, its our 4th pic with this one and will be getting another one in 2 weeks too no doubt - poor baby feeling a bit 'papped'!!!

Shazza don't be wearing yourself out tonight, I hope you all get a late start in the morning?!? Pizza sounds good! lovely to feel some movements too and to see them today was nice as well

VG and lofW am very jealous of new cars!! we got a wee second hand fiesta in Nov, thats now not going to be any use lol we have another bigger car as well, the fiesta is for whoever doesn't have the kids - actually a lovely wee car - but our bigger car won't take 3 car seats in the bad and not ready to move dd1 into front seat yet - back to the old whatcar website for some inspiration me thinks!!

SO pleased to hear all went well today Dizzy.

We're on the hunt for a new car too. We bought a totally unsuitable for children car just before I got pg with DD. As we would have lost loads on it if we'd sold it then we've managed with it as DD doesn't actually go in the car much as we walk wherever possible. Anyway, have now decided to bite the bullet. DH has accepted that something sleek and nippy is no longer appropriate and we've been looking at family tanks. I'm just panicking about how on earth I'll park it (parking is NOT my strong point as our insurance company will agree).

Anyone else having problems with their hips? Mine were absolutely fine last time but I'm already finding that they're aching like mad at night and I'm waking up really stiff. Fine once I get going, but slightly worrying about how much worse it can get.... Midwife said it's par for the course with a second and it will get worse. Someone tell me this isn't true? Please??

LOL @ the over 'papped' babies I have 4 pics so far of this baby, over 3 scans.

DS still awake, his 10/15 minute 'power nap' seems to have given him a second wind, but at least he won't be bouncing on me at 2am again!

Shazza - I rubbed my PC desk aswell, but then realised it's a cheap argos veneer thingy! Leaned back and rubbed the mirror frame instead, pretty sure that's pure pine!

Last time, when DS was due we were getting through cars like nobodys business! We had real bangers - an F reg passat easte with a HUGE dent in the side that cost £95, a £200 citreon ZX (which was great, 50 odd MPG but the boot didn't open!), some awful red peugot estate - then DHs grandmother gave us her old car (she got too sore to drive, prefers getting taxis) about 3 days before DS was due which was a godsend, 54 reg so it was reliable (no more sitting waiting for AA on motorways!), then finally our Landrover was fixed (my mum bought me a Yaris, DH wrote it off (!) and we bought an old LR out of the money, which died after 2 weeks and cost a fortune to fix and took months), but the LR keeps dying, the suzuki had a crash 2 years ago which we cannot afford to fix (minor damage but £1600) so it's great DH has a job where he gets a car that's nice and reliable! AM really waffling on now, sorry!

Dizzy I'm here, I'm here! Glad to hear your scan went ok. Things with the house and schools etc not brilliant but we are going ahead with trying to exchange and will just have to cope with the consequences if ds can't get into the village school. Work has also been mad so generally not been a good week! But things can only get better... At least tiny petitfilou is ok as far as I can tell. Now off to write shopping list (yawn)
