Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
PetitFilou1 · 26/02/2008 16:29

I looked like a whale that had swallowed a zeppelin by the end both times and I've got one of each I go fully Catherine Zeta Jones esque ship in full sale style

TwilightSurfer · 26/02/2008 16:46

Well I'm being still today. I've been getting this pin-stick like pain just under the last rib on my right side....where the upper edge of my uterus is now. I may have done something in yoga . It's not constant though so I'm baffled. It's very random, not frequent but noticable when it happens. It could just be growth and attachment...I don't know but I have nothing on my schedule today so DD and I are VEGGING OUT. Actually I've not felt any pain since the middle of the night so maybe it's gone for good.

As for nookie while pregnant, has anyone seen Knocked Up with Katherine Hiegle? I watched it this weekend but wasn't impressed...it was suppose to be a comedy but I don't think I laughed once. Anyway they had loads of pregnant sex scenes which I found "odd". I realize we as pregnant women feel sexy with our expanding bodies but I can't say it looks too sexy on the big screen.

Oh and I found a new favorite snack: chocolate covered soy nuts and a banana. YUM! Plus it's good for me. BONUS!!

TwilightSurfer · 26/02/2008 16:49

oops feel and looks were suppose to be underlined....I obviously don't know how to use emphasis properly.

Buckets · 26/02/2008 18:15

Oh TS, my DH wants to get the camcorder out when I'm really big ! Not sure I can handle that kind of malarkey (anymore.)
I've been meaning to watch that movie, I really liked the 40yr Old Virgin by the same director/writer (?).

dizzydixies · 26/02/2008 18:21

our camcorder will mysteriously disappear for dd1's 5th birthday at beginning of july

TwilightSurfer · 26/02/2008 18:27

My EYES! My EYES! Camcorders in bedrooms only cause T R O U B L E.

dizzydixies · 26/02/2008 18:38

OMG were we talking about preggie porn?!? I can't believe I missed that

TwilightSurfer · 26/02/2008 18:40

We've turned over a new leaf on the this thread. I wonder if this topic will wind up in the weekly MN memo??

dizzydixies · 26/02/2008 18:44

there's a MEMO?!?
oh lord, I hope am not made an example of

Buckets · 26/02/2008 19:12

Don't worry, there's too many antenatal threads and they move way too fast for Morningpaper (the lady who does the MN Roundup) to bother with us. Think you can sign up for it on the main Talk index - it's farkin hilarious I have to say.

dizzydixies · 26/02/2008 19:22

am obviously incompetent and can't find it

mum2go · 26/02/2008 19:32

hi ladies

sorry i havent been around it seems like ages since i lasted posted on here lol

hope ev1 has been keeping well

me=bump are fine, dd,s birthday party went well and she has now told her classmates she,s gonna be a big sister bless

will try and catch up more soon

cheers from chrisseyxx

CaptainCaveman · 26/02/2008 21:15

Hey lovely ladies

somehow the conversations always roll around to pruning lady gardens, sex and chocolate and/or cake.
In answer to the above

  1. yes i have with the clippers
  2. not for the past 3 weeks
  3. am just about to have some

whatever you do, don't read those in the wrong order!!!

Would dearly love dh to clear up cat crap but it truly makes him vomit - and then I'd have to clean up the cats runny shite plus his vomit. Ewwww, gag, gag, gag, nasty combination.

DD, praying for you tomorrow - what time is your scan? rEally good too that you can feel the lo doing some gymnastics in there!!

Bonus - I have my travel insurance through my bank account and my pg is covered. I rang to check and yep, definately covered until 8 weeks prior to due date.

CaptainCaveman · 26/02/2008 21:29

Sorry libbyssister, forgot to answer you - I'm not concerned about PND. I had ante-natal depression with ds and went to see the motherhood and mental health team at our local hospital when I was about 35 weeks. They were fab, really reassuring. I automatically get re-referred to them this time and they will see me if they deem it necessary. I'm currently still taking ads (citalopram) but on the lowest dose. Not too keen to stop them tbh as I don't fancy having panic attacks again but willing to try whatever they recommend as best for me and bubba. Will have to swap ads anyway as can't bf with citalopram. I'm nuts me

CaptainCaveman · 26/02/2008 21:33

wait a minute - that sounds like it was a nice experience!?! It was fecking awful at the time - I was in a constant anxiety state for over 10 days [cc shudders at memory of temporary insanity...]. However, was much better after ds was born

In fact, I just remembered, when i saw the mw on friday she was asking me how i felt. I started saying, oh you know, a bit nauseous etc, but she said "no, you know, in yourself, are you ok?" and looked at me with a bit of concern. Bless her. She should have just said, "so cc, are you feeling mad today"?

TwilightSurfer · 26/02/2008 22:02

I dealt with PND a bit myself. (By PND, you mean post natal depression, right?) Having dealt with Y E A R S of anxiety and panic disorder [and all therapy remedies therein] I pulled some relaxation and destressing activities out of my bag to help myself as needed. Was able to stay off of meds and didn't have to see my counselor once. This time round might be different just because I seem to feel different with the pregnancy overall...much more worry than before. But that's what the doctors & counselors are for. You have a much better outcome if your willing to step up and admit you have a problem in the first place.....that said if you think you might be experiencing PND don't be quiet about it. It's not a shameful thing, quite normal really.

dizzydixies · 26/02/2008 22:02

CC are you still taking your citalopram, I was told I had to stop whilst pg
thank you for tomorrow, its at 9.30, which in our hosp will mean nearer to 11am

poppysocks · 26/02/2008 22:11

Just quickly popping in (although not quickly as our internet connection is soooo slow tonight) to say good luck to Dizzy tomorrow. Will be thinking of you with fingers and toes crossed.

TwilightSurfer · 26/02/2008 22:15

Dizzy citalopram, an SSRI, hasn't been proven to cause any fetal problems overall. It's all about benefits outweighing risks where mental health is concerned.

TwilightSurfer · 26/02/2008 22:17

9:30AM is 4:30AM here which is usually when I wake for the hundreth time so I'll be thinking about you Dizzy, literally, FIRST THING!

dizzydixies · 26/02/2008 22:18

oh poppy thats lovely of you thank you
TS maybe Gp prefers me a little crazy for a while! have been on it since Feb'06 so am not devestated and doing ok without it (I think ) but will no doubt be back on it after this one, on it after both dd's

dizzydixies · 26/02/2008 22:19

will try to be quiet TS incase you haven't woken for once

TwilightSurfer · 26/02/2008 22:34

Dizzy I'd be happy to wake to your joyously excited screams as bean does the loop-t-loop. My meds are a bit more of a no-no. When needed I take Xanax. Had been on it for six years prior to getting pregnant with DD and continuted to take it for the first 8 weeks...until MS took over (then didn't need it again for 3 and a half years after her birth). Only needed it again this summer as travel is my sore spot. Hope I don't need it again but have it just in case and docs permission. I too take the smallest of small doses so far less of a worry in the long run.

CaptainCaveman · 27/02/2008 07:57

dizzy I have the most wonderful gp, very sympathetic and willing to go the extra mile for me (and no doubt her other pts). There are 4 partners in the practice. I saw the main partner (a man) before I got pg to ask what I should do, he said bluntly, if you got pg now you would have to come straight off the citalopram. Wasn't happy so went to see usual lady gp and she phoned one of the psychiatrists, plus the national drug centre for more up to date research. Told me the only recorded risks they had were from research where mum was taking 60mg citalopram and 0.1% of babies were subsequently born with raised bp. (trial only included about 60 women).

TS - we must be twins.....I've suffered with anxiety and panic on and off for 8 years! Also had meds and counselling (which was marvellous). I'm happy to talk about my mental health as it doesn't scare me anymore - when I first had panic attacks I thought I would be locked up for being mad!

DIZZY - saying my prayers now and you are top of my list this morning . Will also ask the lovely ladies on the prayer thread to say one for you.

alittlebitshy · 27/02/2008 09:33

Dizzy am thinking, praying and crossing everything for you lovely lady
