PetitFilou1 · 22/02/2008 18:59

Rach I am so sorry for your loss. It must also be awful to be leaking milk - your consultant could, as far as I understand it, have given you an injection to make your milk dry up. Maybe they still can?

Be kind to yourself and give yourself time to come to terms with this.

xx

alittlebitshy · 22/02/2008 19:28

Rach - I am so sorry for you. I hope time heals, and that one day in the not too distant duture you are on the antenatal boards again.
Look after yourself - both you and dh.
xxx

dizzydixies · 22/02/2008 19:50

petitfilou was offering to beat up your dh's granny on your other thread - cheek of the old trout

poppysocks · 22/02/2008 20:36

Rach - so sorry to hear your news. I can't imagine what you must be going through. I wish you a good recovery and when the time is right, as you say, there's no reason why there won't be a healthy baby along soon. Thinking of you and your DP.

poppysocks · 22/02/2008 20:47

Dizzy - No idea where the thread has disappeared to. Sorry! Couldn't find it without your help first time round!

Buckets - I'm with you on going for the elective c-section, but leaving it as late as possible - which is what our Consultant wants too so that's great. DD was 9 days late so even if this one is born at 39+2 that's a fortnight less in utero, which seems like an awful lot. Also with that sort of track record of lateness (extends to my entire life), I'm not worried about this one turning up before EDD.

He wants to set a date at my 34 week Anti-D visit to the hospital but says it'll be sometime during the 39th week. Really good to have the basics approved at this stage though.

If I'm honest there's also a part of me that feels that if fate intervenes and the baby decides to start off before the intended date, then maybe it would be ok to go for a VBAC. SO reassuring to know that I don't have to though.

dizzydixies · 22/02/2008 20:51

poppy it miraculously came back but one of the other posters was laughing as she had lost it as well - if you can't find it let me know and I'll post another link.

how are you feeling this week, was work ok?

CaptainCaveman · 22/02/2008 21:04

Evening ladies! Saw mw today, took bloods, bp nice and low around 90/60 (hence the postural hypotension!). Next mw appt is in 10 weeks . However, have my 20 week scan in between now and then.

Had a lovely day out playing with ds and my friends (who I met through ante-natal classes when pg with ds) and their lo's. Then my lovely friend looked after ds for me whilst I got my hair cut and coloured. Not too sure about the colour atm.....reddy brown with blonde highlights....not convinced they don't make me look like an old trout!

The bake off sounds lovely - can I be chief taste tester please? Send samples of all produce c/o Captain Caveman in NOttingham. Am sure they'll find me

dizzydixies · 22/02/2008 21:12

oohh CC you're looking lovely and swishy tonight - what lovely friends you have!

I haven't even seen a midwife yet, I think not till 24wks for me seeing as am apparent 'expert' on 3rd dc

was out with friend from original ante-natal class too, they're brilliant for RL support & contact after

will send you some malteser traybake tomorrow, if there is any left, friends who were popping in for a visit have since invited themselves for lunch, am still meant to be on fecking feet up told them they could stay for lunch as long as they brought it and he just laughed - wanker!
s'cuse the language!

poppysocks · 22/02/2008 22:00

Hi Dizzy - thanks for asking. Work stupidly busy at the moment, but fine now. Didn't really see the boss so no flattening required at present!

I haven't seen a midwife yet either. Just had the 12 week scan at the hospital and that's it. Have the Down's/Spina Bifida blood test on Monday so should clap eyes on one then, although don't think there'll be any actual interaction. Ho hum.

dizzydixies · 22/02/2008 22:20

am ready when you need me, just you point him out poppy

LadyOfWaffle · 22/02/2008 22:51

Rach {{hugs}} I am so sorry xxxxxxxxxx

I cannot believe you are all discussing and planning the births - we were and still are only just talking about morning sickness! This is flying by waaaaaaay too fast!

OTOH, is anyone planning a water birth? I was induced last time, the whole hog with drips, scissors (for my episiotomy - still cannot get over the fact they use scissors!!) and ventouse so not sure if I can this time... not sure who to ask either, MW didn't discuss the birth with me at all last time.

VintageGardenia · 23/02/2008 09:04

Rach I'm so sorry to hear your news. I know what you mean about the unfairness of it. I hope you recover well and when the time is right for you that another baby comes to you. I'm so sorry .

Buckets · 23/02/2008 09:26

Littlebitshy - After traumatic labour attempt and EmCS with baby#1, I developed phobias of labour, midiwves and that particular hospital! Having wept all over my GP several times (2nd preg was a shock) and sneakily obtained the name of a sympathetic conslt at other nearby hosp, I got my GP to refer me. Think his letter must have been pretty intense, combined with my bursting into tears at the 20wk conslt appt, because I was given a date there and then! It was for 38w+4 but DS came out totally clean and big as a 2wk old anyway! Everyone at the hosp winced at my notes LOL and pussyfooted around me which was great.
Anyway, it was all lovely and cured all my phobias so this time round I'm able to put the baby first by leaving it in longer (even though DS was totally fine). I kind of like the idea of trying a VBAC but probably will change my mind if I get to 40wks (never got that far before!). What I meant about written permission was just being booked in for ElCS already - you won't have to fight for an EmCS if you go into labour.

LadyOfWaffle · 23/02/2008 11:10

Just popping in while I am drying off, off out in a min - we all slept in! Just had some coffee (I never drink it!) and some lemonade for breakfast, went in the shower and brought it all back up! Luckily I leaned over to the sink in time! Darn morning sickness, I wish it would bugger off!

TwilightSurfer · 23/02/2008 11:56

LadyofWaffle my MS is still here too. Today though it hit before I put anything in so all I did was gag and gag and gag. Good to clear the head of congestion though so no complaints.

Today is MY BIRTHDAY!! Officially 24 28 32 37! Must hurry along so I'm not late for my massage (what was I thinking setting it so early in the day??).

Crazy here. DH's aunt pulled a Heath Ledger yesterday. They found her blue and unresponsive sitting in her favorite chair with THURSDAY'S paper in her hands. She's breathing again on a machine in the hospital. I felt bad but all I could think was "please don't die on my birthday (or her brother's which was yesterday)." She too is on one too many meds and possibly "forgot" what she'd taken when. Life, it's a never ending drama.

Feeling like crude at the moment. WHEN IS THIS SECOND TRIMESTER GREAT FEELING STAGE SUPPOSE TO START??? Praying the massage works wonders. Can't help but think I'll not feel good until months after birth just because I'm so old.

VintageGardenia · 23/02/2008 16:06

Happy birthday TwilightSurfer! I hope you have a lovely massage, I am very I must say, it's just what I'd love today. Hope you get lots of lovely treats throughout the day.

Hope your DH's aunt is ok - probably best not to share your don't die on my birthday thoughts with him! And 37 is not old, tut tut for negative thoughts on birthday. There will be someone extra to give you a present next year!

FoghornLeghorn · 23/02/2008 16:24

Rach - so sorry to hear your bad news, I don't know how you cope with something like that Thinking of you !

Not been around much lately myself - went back to work 2 weeks ago and it's absolutely flattened me !
Had midwife apt on Thursday and bloods for Triple Test so will wait to hear about that - she didn't check for heartbeat which I know some are abit funny about until after 16 weeks but bearing in mind I was 15+3 at appointment and not seeing her again now untl 25 weeks I thought she would've tried Just going to be a nervous wait until scan now.

Happy birthday Twilight!

We had a lovely day - Saturday is my lie in so I hd a lazy morning, then we went to a Lent lunch at church, then we had a friend's son's 4th birthday party which dd loved.

Dh and i will be settling down to wtch tonight's primeval when dd is in bed.

My MS is still here. I'm not sure if it is getting better or if i am just dealing with it better. If i eat i don't feel as sick so i'm eating often. If i get hungry I feel awful.

Got a pain in my jaw/cheekbone today (can't quite work out where he pain is iyswim). I am using ear drops for an ear infetcion at the moment so maybe it is all related, but it hurts to chew or to contort my jaw at all

Thanks for your comments on CSs ladies. Much appreciated!

CaptainCaveman · 23/02/2008 20:58

Happy Birthday TS - how was your massage? what prezzies did you get?

Got another flippin headache - just glugged some water in the hope that will help. I blame the swimming myself - ds kept trying to drown me/dunk me.

And EEEEEEEKKK - just found a flea on my bed [disgust emoticon]. I only de-flea-ed the cats abotu 8 weeks ago. Must be because of the heating being on (ie. fleas are not dying off in the cold). Bleeurgh. Off to get magic flea killer out again.

Where's me chocolate cake dizzy?.....

dizzydixies · 23/02/2008 22:45

CC its malteser tray bake that dd1 and I made today, it does have chocolate IN it if that counts?!?
TS happy birthday - am sorry am so late with salutations, hope your massage was wonderful and you were spoilt rotten

alittlebitshy I had problems with glands/jaw/teeth etc a few weeks ago - lived on soup and pots of ready made jelly and mousse - hope it clears up soon

did far too much today so am shattered and off to bed before smug irish dh comes home from late shift all elated because they beat us today - am considering stuffing myself with boursin cheese and breathing on him all night
