OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
dizzydixies · 20/02/2008 15:29

chacha we no longer mention those as they're all gone.......all gone

dizzydixies · 20/02/2008 15:30

LofW you can buy liquid form paracetamol at the chemist, I've had it for dd before
x

LadyOfWaffle · 20/02/2008 15:31

Urgh, that reminds me of the time DH and I bought a massive box of KK doughnuts to take on a road trip up to Yorkshire for my birthday - I think we ate about 2 each and were so sick! We ended up throwing about 12, even over the whole weekend we couldn't eat them. First time I had had them, but OMG they were heaven, but definatly sickly if you eat too many!

libbyssister · 20/02/2008 15:31

Oooh Adult Calpol sounds dreamy! Hope it passes soon LadyW.

LadyOfWaffle · 20/02/2008 15:32

O, I never knew that! Does it taste awful? Thing about lemsip it just tastes of hot ribena - I couldn't keep asparin dissolved down either, too bitter. I'll look out for it though, thanks

dizzydixies · 20/02/2008 15:34

LofW thats a disgraceful waste when there are pining pregnant woman in need in northern scotland here - consider yourself firmly chastised! just ask at chemist/boots etc am sure they'll have it

Shazza2002 · 20/02/2008 15:44

Thanks ladies.

It definitely came from there cause made a point of holding tissue over bum whilst wiping lady bits. Was very red and I think just seeing blood during pregancy is a shock. No pain though which I'm taking as a good thing.

Bowel movements have been fine up until now, probably to do with me eating about 3 oranges a day, can't get enough of them at the moment.

My mum is well and truely on the mend thanks dizzy, it's just her mouth that's the problem. Sorry, shoudln't say that. She's looking after my DD and my 2 yo nephew today. So of course it's my DD that's the problem. Nephew wants everything so DD has to give it to him cause he doesn't understand. I know I'm frustrated and my DD is no angel but just really annoys me. Sorry rant over. It's cause I've been away for so long, who said I had nothing to say

LadyOfWaffle · 20/02/2008 15:47

Hmmmm... maybe when you were straining you sort of strained your womb etc. and something happened? (not bad or anything, just something shedding?) I know when I strain where my cyst/s are/were really really hurts, like they are about to burst! Our local Tesco does KK doughnuts now, but dunno how fresh they are so haven't bought any.

dizzydixies · 20/02/2008 15:48

Shazza am not sure but think we're in parallel universes here
my mum, although not on the mend, is a PITA and cannot seem to see past nephew where as my girls have just to get on with it, drives me insane as he is a miserable wee whinge (am fully aware am going to burn in hell)

am also chucking in about 1-2lts of fresh orange a day at the moment lol

LadyOfWaffle · 20/02/2008 15:48

I am craving oranges too! Normally I can't eat them, I am super sensitive to sharp/sour things but have been munching away at DSs clementines!

PetitFilou1 · 20/02/2008 15:51

Chacha Just had my scan, 13 weeks + 1 (2 today!), all ok, very peaceful baby with heartbeating nicely but still have to wait two weeks for the results of my blood tests so they can do combined risk assessment for downs etc (as I'm 35) so I am feeling partial relief but not total yet!

Shazza2002 · 20/02/2008 15:59

It drives me insane. My nephew is adorable though so I understand why he get's all the fuss, but not at the expense of my DD IYSWIM.

My sisters other boy can not do any wrong either. He is 10 and was first grandchild. Thing is, I did have an older brother, but he was born brain damaged (think it happened at birth but this was back in the 60's so not a lot could be done at the time) and died when he was 3. So I think my mum sees my other nephew as a replacement so I kind of accept that.

Anyway enough about me. How is evrybody else doing? Are we all positively blooming or just blooming fat????

Shazza2002 · 20/02/2008 16:00

Brilliant news about scan petitflou Hooray

Brilliant news about scan petitflou Hooray

libbyssister · 20/02/2008 16:05

Did you get a nice scan pic PetitF? Lovely news!

libbyssister · 20/02/2008 16:10

Oooh don't get me started on favouritism from grandparents! Mine live about an hour away. We haven't seen since xmas and every time I try to organize something they have something else on. They never offer to babysit, help out or seem bothered about seeing my DS. My sister and her kids live about 15 minutes from them and see them at least once a week, go over for sleepovers, my sister gets them to look after the DC if she has the dentists, cinema, just fancies a bit of time off. Grrrr. It actually gets me really down. Especially as DS is lovely. Much lovely than his cousins!!!! (off to burn in hell now)

dizzydixies · 20/02/2008 16:32

libby it really is sh*te isn't it. my lot are appauling, was making me V depressed last year until my aunts & I talked it all through, I thought I was maybe going mad. some things upset me more than others, for example, was in hosp with dd2 for a week and dh struggled with dd1 and work, mum couldn't come up to help as nephew had a cold and neither brother or sil could take time of their work ffs. she didn't come up when dd2 was born as it was on her allocated days to have nephew - stupid things like that really urk me

libbyssister · 20/02/2008 16:36

Oh dizzy! Were our mums separated at birth!! When I had DS1 and he went overdue my mum got very annoyed because "the long he stays in, the more I have to postpone my holiday"!! My lovely MIL came for a week after he was born, not my own mother. This time around I'm going to insist that she comes down for at LEAST 3 days to help. It will drive me insane but she's gonna help out this time. I haven't told them I'm pregnant yet as I know that early Sept is "holiday time" again so she's bound to be pee-ed off with my timing again...

libbyssister · 20/02/2008 16:37

Oh god I'm ranting. Going to shut up now! S'just a sore topic right now...

dizzydixies · 20/02/2008 16:41

feel free to rant to me, its been a sore topic in ours since i had m/c before dd1 - hadn't told them we were pregnant and when told her had lost baby she asked 'had I not heard of contraception?' yet when brother and sil fell pg just after it was all balloons and banners

even my brother has mentioned it to her when we're all in each others company as its embarassing how blatant it is, sil told me not to bother moving nearer to home to help with mum being ill as my girls were never going to be as good as the golden boy in my mother's eyes - sad but unfortunately true

it upset me a lot but its her loss as the girls are hysterical and give out unconditional love to anyone who'll look at them! Its gone past the point of saying anything though as she's so ill these days everyone just tiptoes about her

LadyOfWaffle · 20/02/2008 16:50

What is it with mums? Mine didn't even congratulate me, just huffed and puffed as if I was an immature 16 year old - I have been married over 2 years! She hasn't told anyone either, think she is too ashamed. She didn't tell anyone with DS until DH and I had got married (when I was 6 months pregnant) either. She was talking to my DH outside the other night for about 40 minutes, he said she was saying I was tupid for "getting pregnant", wouldn't cope etc. used to be such a bright, good girl etc. etc. I was crying the other night when she barged in (she arranged to come over, then I told her not too but she came anyway) and DH was upsetting me and she kept telling me to grow up and was giving off saying "shall I phone social services!!?!" just because I was crying at the stress the two of them were putting me under. She can be very very cruel, she is high up in the NHS and threatens me with all sorts. When I had DS, we were staying at hers waiting for the purchase of this house to be completed and as she used to be a midwife and a health visitor she said she used to inspect the whole house, incl. the oven. So for 2 weeks after DS was born, I woke early and scrubbed the house everyday, cleaned her oven, her bathrooms -everywhere. ANd I was trying to cram in sleep when DS was due incase I went into labour in the middle of the night, but she came home in a bad mood and slammed and banged doors, put on the washing machine and tumble drier (under my bedroom) and went outside to mow the lawn (didn't need doing) and would shout at me for being lazy etc. Wow, I could rant for hours and hours!

dizzydixies · 20/02/2008 16:56

OMG, am ashamed of my pathetic moaning , LofW I hope you realise that this is not the kind of person you need to be paying attention to in any kind of light, am sorry to say something so harsh about your mother but if she cannot be happy for you, supportive and encouraging, esp with all the knowledge she has, then pay no notice to someone so cruel

LadyOfWaffle · 20/02/2008 17:00

I know, thanks Thing is, I asked DH what he said to my mum when she said I couldn't/wouldn't cope and he didn't say anything, then I asked what he though and he said " Well, I don't know until the baby is born" I think I am lacking on the ol' support front.

dizzydixies · 20/02/2008 17:04

well you've always got us! not quite right on your doorstep and unable to clean your oven to your mother's standards but good for general advice & sounding off too and sometimes thats worth its weight in gold

dizzydixies · 20/02/2008 17:05

no wonder you've got bloody headaches - think we've just found the reason
tension headache diagnosis anyone?!?
