HazieAndBaby · 14/02/2008 21:53

What you girls were saying about bitchy kids... I used to be a Snowy Owl at Brownies and some of the girls were so nasty! They said things to some of the other girls that I would never have even thought about saying to an adult, let alone a child! I used to go home shocked about how they treated each other! xx

dizzydixies · 14/02/2008 21:57

oh hazie don't say that I'm always so pleased when I see how the boys play together that I have girls!!

should we use your proper title or are we still alright to call you hazie?!?

dizzydixies · 14/02/2008 22:18

I found it and bumped it back up the chat threads but will try to link it too - holds breath again......

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/1375/474485

absolutely brilliant thread - remember to do you pelvic floor muscles whilst reading
x

HazieAndBaby · 14/02/2008 22:57

Sorry dizzy, I was only talking about the bitchiness 'cos it was mentioned. Most of the girls were fab though, loads of fun! We used to have glamour girl nights where they would do our hair and would give each other makeovers! I remember when a couple of the older ones went up to Guides, they gave me a hug and said they'd miss me! Just as well I wasn't preg at the time, I'd have been in floods!
No, Hazie is good, Ma'am is preferable but I'll let you off! I'm sorry, I've just been calling you dizzy, never even thought to ask
Those threads are amazing by the way, had tears rolling down my face!

Needed a bit of cheering up to be honest as DH called me to say that one of his friends who is due at the same time as me, has just found out that her baby has chromosomal problems and is likely to be very disabled if it survives. It was a total blow as I had got past the stage of being so worried about things going wrong, and as well as being worried about her, have started to panic a little myself. We're not sure how she found out as she was too upset to talk about it. It just feels a little close to home xx

{Twilight sneaks off to have another Krispy Kreme in honor of the birthday girl.}

libbyssister · 15/02/2008 08:32

Happy Birthday Cavey!

We had a rare Valentine's treat last night... DS woke up at about midnight saying 'Want a cuddle with mummy', came into our bed for a snuggle and promptly threw up all over himself, me, our bed....

It's all about the romance in our house

dizzydixies · 15/02/2008 09:33

Morning all - Happy Birthday Cavey hope you're far too busy being spoilt to be on here

hazie am a bit disappointed, was hoping to make our board sound a bit more respectable by having a snowy owl hazie title! am glad those thread cheered you up, they really are hysterical

am very sorry to hear about your friend though, what a terrible time she must be having, I couldn't begin to imagine what turmoil they're going through right now. Is it a friend of your dh's or are you all close? I realise that this can all be very upsetting but you can't let yourself be stressed by it, not good for baby snowy hazie. I would give them some space to take it all in and then maybe pop her a message/email/letter saying that you want to be able to support her as much as possible and you're there for her if she needs you. Fate came be a terrible horrible thing but time and support from good friends can be great healers

dizzydixies · 15/02/2008 09:34

libby huge sympathies re vomit in middle of night, it went round all 4 of us last week so I think I still smell of bleach and febreeze - hope he's feeling better this morning

libbyssister · 15/02/2008 09:51

Thanks dizzy, I think he's fine. DH rang me at work to say DS is full of beans and happy. Hopefully just one of those random chunk moments.

CaptainCaveman · 15/02/2008 10:13

Aww, thanks for the birthday greetings, and for the lovely cake! Yummmmm.

So far I have had DVD box sets of 24 (which I asked for) and some CK perfume and a HUGE BOX OF THORNTONS (from ds) .
My oldest friend sent me a lovely fridge magnet which says "you big wankers" on it She is so funny.

Mum arriving shortly.
Going out for lunch, then playing in the park, then out for a curry tonight. Busy busy busy. Still in my pjs at the moment!
Just think, this time 35 years ago I was still a tiny bubba in my mums tummy! I was born about 7pm - 40 mins after mum went into labour!! (on my due date too).

gigglegirl · 15/02/2008 13:36

Happy Birthday Captain Caveman!!!!

LadyOfWaffle · 15/02/2008 13:41

Happy Birthday CAveman xxx

Just (well, yesterday) got my downs results, 1/1100 which is lower than the risk for a 20 year old so it's gone down, which is good to know. I really don't feel pregnant though aside from the tail end of Morning Sickness. Hope everyone had a good Valentines Day yesterday x

gigglegirl · 15/02/2008 13:43

hazie, how sad for your friend and for you - it is so hard to know how to support people in the best way. I found out a couple of weeks ago had given birth to her first baby who was overdue by a week and tragically was stillborn. She emailed with some beautifiul photos the other day and I have been letting her know I am still thinking of her. She has just let me know that she is coming over to the UK to visit at Easter and we are hoping to see each other and I haven't yet told her I'm pregnant with my 4th - so hard to do these things sensitively and know what words to use. We can never know what is going to appen and if you worry about all the possibilities you would never do anything, people are told things in pregnancy that are sometimes not as bad as they seem, sometimes different and sometimes a surprise. Having worked with 100s of families who have sick or disabled children they all find there own way through - people (inc. us) are amazing and we just have to deal with what happens to us when it happens!
If any of that makes sense! Trying to type this whilst Annie is on repeat for the 100th time and all three of mine belt out the tune tomorrow at the top of their lings with 1, 2 and 4 year old interpretations of the words - totally surreal! Have a good rest of day everyone.

lewisham · 15/02/2008 17:32

Hi to all and hope you all blossuming and feeling perky. Sorry to be out of touch for so long have been v busy and feeling sooooo nauseous serves me right for worrying at the beg for not having any symptoms they really kicked off over Christmas and are just begininng too subside. Best news is so far all is well had my scan last week and baby is very happy as am I. Due date is 14th August now.
At the moment am searching if anyone knows of any London based one.
All the best to you all.
X

TwilightSurfer · 15/02/2008 19:07

OH WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY!!

I spent the morning shopping for ME!! I found some really wonderful summer things that will work perfectly for me even though nothing I purchased was maternity. I just went with bigger sizes of things for the most part. I even purchased a bikini....with a matching cover-up . DH came home from work early and got to see all my finds and said he liked them all, especially this strapless tube-top type dress (it goes all the way to floor but is so loose and flowing...I can see myself wearing to the hospital on D-day). After his reaction I just might go back out for a couple more in different colors. My FAVORITE purchase though was some new nail polish which DD and I have already graced our toes with. The new toes look good in my new flip-flops too...can't be without several pairs of them especially in "my condition". Feel like I'm on cloud nine at the moment.

Hope everyone else is having a perfect day.

stickybean · 15/02/2008 19:22

Hi everyone,

Happy birthday Captain Caveman!
Not much to say but wanted to check in and say hello after you were all so so so lovely to me earlier this week.

Had a great week telling everyone the news, a bit mad now the secret in out. So excited but in a wierd way i feel like i have lost control a bit, think that is the suspicious part of me coming out!

Hope you all have lovely weekends.

Sticky xxx

dizzydixies · 15/02/2008 22:33

good grief is everyone else out having a life on a friday night ?!?!?

by the way ladies, kk count is now NONE so no more kk chat infront of me please - not even whispering lol

hope you're all having a great friday evening whatever you're doing

HazieAndBaby · 15/02/2008 23:57

Hope everyone's having fun tonight!! TFI Friday, that's all I can say!

Happy Birthday CaptainCaveman - think I just made it! Hope you got loads more goodies!

Oh, poor dizzy! If I'd have known you were staying in, I would have too! We went to a Chinese in town for our belated Valentine's meal - DH is a massive Aberdeen fan (just to clarify, he's not actually massive, just really likes Aberdeen!) and was out at the game, so I was in by myself all night last night doing the football widow thing! Thanks for your words of wisdom re DH's friend. She is a footie buddie of his but he only met her in the last year and she tends to keep herself to herself so it's hard to know what to say. He sent her a text to let her know we're thinking of her though.

gigglegirl Thanks for your advice too. I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. That must be awful for her to go through and couldn't imagine how she is feeling. I'm sure you'll find the best way you're preg, although I've no doubt she'll be very happy to hear your news. I never seem to know what to say in difficult situations and end up chickening out until the last minute. I think I'm getting better though.

P.S. dizzy, you can call me Snowy Owl Hazie or whatever you like as long as it's nice!

Oops, just been busted! Told DH I was really tired and desparately wanted to go to bed, but he's just caught me on here! Only wanted to have a quick look!!!

HazieAndBaby · 15/02/2008 23:58

Why can't I ever spell desperately on the first go???

stillhere · 16/02/2008 13:56

Meant to check in yesterday just to say that I had my scan yesterday morning and it's all good. Mightily relieved, and it means that we can start enjoying it a bit more now. Also sure I'm feeling a bit more movement, although it's pretty irregular - mini-me got a bit excited watching Jonathan Ross last night for some reason - which is fab. I'm a different person now, much perkier and happier and starting to think about getting some more maternity jeans. Any recommendations? The best trousers I had with my last pregnancy were Formes but I don't think I can stretch to that again (no pun intended). Tips welcome! Have great weekends one and all.

CaptainCaveman · 16/02/2008 13:56

No posts on here for 14 hours - is that some sort of record, or have you all moved to another thread and not told me

Lost 9-2 at hockey today.....oh dear. They were a very good team though!

Hope you are all having a lovely day, the weather is beautiful in NOtts. I'm just gonna jump in the shower then I'm off in to town to buy my friend a birthday prezzie. Out tonight for her bday - we're going to the dogs!!!

CaptainCaveman · 16/02/2008 13:58

Thats great news stillhere!! Yay. Next always seem reasonable for clothing.
A few pages back dizzy posted a list of shops with good maternity ranges....

x

Buckets · 16/02/2008 15:55

Right. I've decided if the blooming aint coming to Buckets, Buckets must pay someone to do the blooming for her. Got new bra fitted this morning, got smart new chinlength bob (4" off!) and eyebrows waxed this afternoon. Finish my eyedrops tonight so will start wearing mascara again tomorrow - the old folks I care for on a Sunday won't recognise me!
Still feel slightly sick here & there throughout the day but not really enough to call morning sickness - have decided to look on the bright side of that instead of moaning about it.
I got a bargain 3 prs of Next cropped maternity trousers off Ebay this week (£10 inc p&p), tried them on yesterday and they looked huge but when I tried them on OMG they are so comfy .

IlanaK · 16/02/2008 18:01

Well, I am obviously feeling better as food has played a big part of my life in the last day or so. Last night I went out with DH for a belated valentine's treat at a local spanish resteraunt for tapas - yum! And today I baked chocolate brownies and made indian shish kebabs with a yogurt, cucumber and pomegranate dip for dinner.

I am definately feeling more movement now too. I will be 17 weeks on Monday.

dizzydixies · 16/02/2008 18:20

hi all

stillhere great news on the scan, glad you're enjoying it all a bit more. I bought some matty jeans from new look during the week and haven't been out them since lol

CC ejnoy your night out - am very jealous, will not doubt spend evening trying to convince kids into bed and then vegging on MN or in front of telly - will stop now as can feel all your envy directed at my hectic social life!

buckets well done you! I actually dried and straightened my hair for first time and weeks and must normally look like a bag of crap normally as a few people commented on it 4" is a lot, you'll probably end up in shower for ages having used too much shampoo and feel about 2ft taller!

IlanaK I was baking with dd1 today too, took me about an hr to straighten kitchen a again after we made red velvet cupcakes from the reciepe page and now she's refusing to eat them because they're not bright red not wuite kks but am sure I'll force them down!!

hazie snowy hope your friend is doing ok, heard a girl at work today due in june is having some problems to, brings it all home doesn't it

right all, have had a long day afer keeping girls up later than usual last night dd1 was still up before 7am had to go into work with sickline and most of them were lovely apart from one trout who made big fuss of dd1 but completely ignored me - blatantly - why is there always one person who ruins everything? I don't ask for much but she could have congratulated me on being pg and they all know am off due to complications - never mind, as I said the majority well lovely

got farking toothache again and dentist not till 26th dh has just handed me lovely sweet n' sour chicken stir fly he made for tea so am sure I'll battle on!!
